Kevin Costner puts his 160-acre Aspen estate ‘The Dunbar Ranch’ up for rent for $36,000 a NIGHT

Actor Kevin Costner is renting out his 160-acre Aspen estate in Colorado for a whopping $36,000 per night.

The property, known as the Dunbar Ranch, named in honor of his Dances With Wolves character, Lieutenant John Dunbar, and is described as ‘the ultimate luxury retreat’ and is located just minutes from downtown Aspen.

The mansion features 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms with views of Independence Pass and Aspen Mountain. If there are any problems, round the clock caretakers are also on-site.

Kevin Costner, who recently won a Golden Globe, is renting out his 160-acre ranch in Aspen, Colorado for the hefty price of $36,000 per night

The property, known as the Dunbar Ranch, is being described as the ‘ultimate luxury retreat’ and is located just minutes from downtown Aspen

Costner currently plays the owner of a ranch, John Dutton, in the acclaimed anti-woke Western series, Yellowstone. It saw Costner scoop a Golden Globe Award earlier this month

The 160-acre estate went on the rental market last week and is available throughout winter

Costner purchased the land and property in 2000, and built everything to make it a picturesque paradise

The 160 acre estate is so large it even has its own baseball field

The ranch comprises of 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms and can accommodate up to 27 people

Outdoors the venue boasts a baseball field, a sledding hill, and the ability to comfortably sleep up to 27 people spread across three buildings consisting of a main house, a lake house, and a river house.

For the winter months, the ranch features a private ice rink, tubing track, and dog sledding while horseback riding, hiking, fishing, and other activities are possible during the warmer months.

The estate also incorporates a lake on which kayaks and paddleboards can be sailed.

While the nightly price tag of $36,000 may sound a lot, when split between a full house load of guests, it  would be comparable to booking several rooms at a local five-star hotel in Aspen.

He currently plays the owner of a ranch, John Dutton, in the acclaimed anti-woke Western series, Yellowstone. It saw Costner scoop a Golden Globe Award earlier this month.

The win marked the first-ever Golden Globe nomination for the show – which has been described as ‘anti-woke’ – after multiple snubs. The popular series, which first hit the air in 2018, has aired 47 episodes over five seasons.

In that time, it has also received one Emmy nomination (in 2021, for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program); and got its first two Critics Choice Awards nominations this year (for Best Drama Series; and for Kelly Reilly for Best Actress in a Drama Series).

Although he still frequently uses Dunbar Ranch, but the filming schedule for Yellowstone, means he’s spending a large chunk of his time on other people’s ranches in Montana, although he does typically rent out his Aspen home during the winter months.

The property was put up for rent last week, and is being listed by Amy Mottier with Coldwell Banker Mason Morse.

Twitter sued for not paying rent at San Francisco HQ

Twitter was sued for millions of dollars over allegations of unpaid rent at the company’s San Francisco headquarters, according to a lawsuit filed on Friday, Jan. 20.

The suit is the culmination of monthslong rumors that under new CEO Elon Musk, Twitter hasn’t been paying rent on its headquarters at 1355 Market St. Those rumors were originally reported by the New York Times. In the interim, two other unrelated lawsuits have been filed against Twitter for nonpayments. Additional stories have emerged that Twitter isn’t paying for janitorial services at its headquarters and that certain rooms in the headquarters have been equipped with beds, the latter of which led to a still-open investigation by San Francisco’s Planning Department and Department of Building Inspection.

Shorenstein, the real estate investment company that originally acquired the building at 1355 Market St. in 2011, alleged in the suit that Twitter owes $3.162 million in unpaid rent for Jan. 2023 — plus interest and late fees. The suit alleged that Twitter didn’t pay rent in Dec. 2022 either; Shorenstein was able to obtain the December rent amount from Twitter’s $3.6 million letter of credit, which functionally served as a security deposit. The real estate company then took roughly $265,000 from the remaining letter of credit to cover a chunk of the January rent. That letter of credit balance has now been drawn down to $1, according to the lawsuit.

Shorenstein said in the suit that as a result of the Musk buyout last October, Twitter’s letter of credit was supposed to increase well beyond $3.6 million — by a sum of $10 million, in fact. But Shorenstein alleged that Twitter has refused to replenish the amount withdrawn from its letter of credit to cover rent owed, and has also refused to bump up its letter of credit by $10 million.

Via a representative, Shorenstein declined to comment on the lawsuit. Twitter’s communications department was eliminated after Musk became CEO.
