Ashton Kutcher publicly apologises to Harry Styles after awkward encounter at a karaoke party
Ashton Kutcher has publicly apologised to hitmaker Harry Styles for an extremely awkward encounter at a mutual friend’s karaoke party.
The actor, 44, admitted he had no idea who the former One Direction singer was when they first met which led to him making some embarrassing remarks.
Ashton revealed in an interview with Esquire that he and actress wife Mila Kunis attended their neighbour’s lavish party when the awkward run-in happened.
He explained that he had been left in awe after seeing a partygoer perform ABBA and felt compelled to go and compliment the performance.
As it turned out the performer was Harry, 29, with Ashton being none the wiser.

Ashton recalled: ‘I said “Man, I gotta tell you something. You’re like a karaoke ringer. You’re really good, like, really good.”‘
To which the singer humbly replied his thanks, saying he ‘appreciated’ the compliment.
To Ashton’s horror, his friend then informed him that it was a famous singer, with his wife Mila having to explain that Harry was in fact a big name in the music world and part of One Direction.
Ashton recalled: ‘I was like, “Oh my God, now I feel like a jerk,” . He’s a professional singer, and we’re trying to tell him he’s a good singer!’
He went on to issue a public apology via the magazine, saying: ‘I just really want to say I’m sorry, Harry Styles. But you’re really good at karaoke, man. Seriously, like really good.’
It comes after Harry was officially added to the growing roster of performers at the 2023 Grammy Awards, due to be held on February 5.
The As It Was hitmaker is nominated for an incredible six awards for his record-breaking album Harry’s House, which was released in May 2022.
Harry’s House is the former One Direction member’s third solo studio album since the boyband went on a ‘permanent hiatus’ in August 2015.

The Don’t Worry Darling actor had the second-largest opening week for an album in 2022, behind Taylor Swift’s Midnights.
He also had four songs from the album on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart, which makes him the first British solo artist to achieve this, and among all British acts, he joined The Beatles, who achieved the feat in 1964.
As It Was sat at number one on the Billboard charts for 15 consecutive weeks, becoming the longest-running US number one by a UK act and the fourth longest-running number-one in the chart’s history.

Harry previously performed at the 2021 Grammys, where he donned a jaw-dropping all-leather outfit, complete with no shirt.
At the 2021 Grammy Awards, the Watermelon Sugar crooner was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album – Fine Line, Best Music Video – Adore You, and Best Pop Solo Performance – Watermelon Sugar, which he took home the award for.
For the 2023 Grammys, he is nominated for the three most coveted awards Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, and Song Of The Year.
He’s also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video.

Kylie Jenner went all out to ensure her daughter Stormi Webster had the best birthday, as she turned five on Wednesday.
The lipkit mogul, 25, welcomed Stormi’s friends to the bash with a giant inflatable grey ‘Astroworld’ tunnel of her daughter’s head, through which guests would enter the party.
The entrance was inspired by Stormi’s dad Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ cover art, and she previously used a similar inflatable head when Stormi turned two. Jenner shares two kids with the rapper, 30, from whom she recently split.
Aside from Stormi they also have an 11 month old son whose name is Aire, and whose birthday falls the day after his sister’s.
The social media sensation also invested in an endless sea of pink balloons that formed an arch on the other side of the tunnel.

Kylie and her older half-sisters Kim Kardashian, 42, and Khloe Kardashian, 38, shared a number of snaps and videos from the extravagant event to their Instagram Stories.
Khloe showed off the fantastical ballon archway and her daughter True Thompson, four, and niece Dream Kardashian, six — the daughter of her brother Rob Kardashian, 35, and reality star Blac Chyna, 34 — running through it.
Another snap showed an iridescent unicorn balloon, as well as yet another archway made of yellow balloons.
Khloe also shared the marvelous cake, which featured pastel rose decorations and a heart sign that read ‘Happy 5th Birthday Stormi.’
In another snap Khloe posted True playing with some blue frosting at the party. True was also seen enjoying some arts and crafts at her cousin’s bash.
The little girl — whose father is basketball star Tristan Thompson, 31 — wore a white apron and accessorized with rhinestone crystals on her face.

Nadhim Zahawi fired as U.K. Conservative Party chair over tax affairs
The scandal is the latest in a string for Sunak’s Conservative Party, and despite the promise that a steadier hand is now in charge, allegations of “Tory sleaze” and mismanagement continue to dog the government.
The dismissal of Zahawi, a popular party figure, comes after weeks of revelations about his tax affairs. He has come under scrutiny for settling an overdue multimillion-dollar tax bill, along with a penalty, while he was Britain’s chancellor of the exchequer, or finance minister — in other words, he was paying a penalty to the tax authorities at the same time he was their boss.
Zahawi was in charge of the country’s Treasury from July to September, in the final months of Boris Johnson’s tenure as prime minister.
In his letter to Zahawi on Sunday, Sunak said he made the decision because he had promised that his government would have “integrity, professionalism and accountability at every level” when he became prime minister late last year, during a particularly tumultuous time in British politics. When Sunak became leader last year, he pitched himself as the person who’d move the party on from the scandals of his predecessors, Liz Truss and Boris Johnson.
Sunak’s decision to sack his chairman came after he ordered an independent ethics adviser, Laurie Magnus, to investigate Zahawi’s tax affairs. The tax bill in question was over the sale of shares in YouGov, the polling agency that Zahawi founded.
In the adviser’s verdict on the situation, Zahawi had not declared that his tax affairs were being investigated when Johnson had made him finance minister. The four-page report published on Sunday also said that Zahawi had failed to disclose details when Sunak made him chair of the Conservative Party. These omissions constituted a failure to meet the standards that ministers are supposed to abide by, the report said.
Zahawi said the tax authority had concluded that there had been a “careless and not deliberate” error but also insisted that he was confident he had “acted properly throughout.”
Sunak initially stood by Zahawi. Now opposition politicians have questioned what the prime minister knew before appointing Zahawi to a senior job in the party.
The Labour Party’s shadow education secretary, Bridget Phillipson, said: “It’s vital that we now get answers to what Rishi Sunak knew and when did he know it. We need to see all the papers, not just have the Prime Minister’s role in this brushed under the carpet.”

The UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak bowed to pressure on Sunday by firing the Conservative Party chairman Nadhim Zahawi, who has faced criticism over his personal tax arrangements.
Sunak last week ordered his ethics adviser to investigate Zahawi following claims he had paid a penalty as part of a reported £4.8 million ($5.96 million) settlement with tax officials. It was alleged that Zahawi did not declare the dispute with tax authorities.
Zahawi was appointed chancellor of the exchequer – finance minister – by former prime minister Boris Johnson in July last year. He remained in the Cabinet under Johnson’s successor Liz Truss and her successor, Sunak, who made him party chairman.
In a letter to Zahawi, Sunak said that, after the investigation completed its work, “it is clear that there has been a serious breach of the Ministerial Code.”
“As a result, I have informed you of my decision to remove you from your position in His Majesty’s Government.”
