The best early Black Friday sales so far — Target, Coach Outlet, Nordstrom Rack and more

The deals don’t get better than this! (Photo: Target, Coach Outlet, Walmart)

Is your clicking finger starting to itch? Ours, too — we can feel the Black Friday discounts beginning to swell and we are here for all of them, like now. Retailers including Amazon, Coach Outlet and Nordstrom Rack are just as eager and they’re happy to shower us with the kinds of bargains we haven’t seen since last year. The deals are so good right now, shopping experts urge us to consider all of the sales. “I recommend checking for the product on one to two other retailers to compare the regular price with a potential ‘sale’ price to ensure you’re actually getting the best deal,” says Kristen Gall, Retail and Shopping Expert for Rakuten. Guess that’s our signal to go shopping!

The deals — like 45% off a top-notch HD LED TV and 70% off a gorgeous Coach Outlet purse — are worth giving up turkey for, but you don’t have to because they’re already in full swing. Ready to save some cash? Below are the best early Black Friday sales we’ve found so far.

Walmart certainly has its way with a price tag. The entire month of November is a Black Friday sale at the mega retailer, and right now you can get access to wildly popular products marked down to prices that’ll make your knees buckle. You’ll see deep discounts on items like the Dreo Space Heater for $40!

Dreo

Dreo Space Heater

$40$70Save $30

This space heater cranks out heat with 1500W of power, has adjustable fan speeds and can heat up to 200 square feet. It’s also lightweight enough that you can carry it from room to room or home to office.

$40 at Walmart

Wayfair is the go-to for everything you need to outfit any room for any occasion at easy-on-the-wallet prices. And it’s pulling out the stops to get your house ready for the holidays. It’s offering up to 70% off home furnishings and appliances with its Pre-Black Friday sale — we’re talking doorbuster discounts like over 70% off Ayesha Curry’s Aluminum Nonstick Cookware Set. It’s normally $275, but with this sale it can be yours for only $80!

Target’s Black Friday sale is flush with markdowns across categories — new deals are revealed each week with special discounts featured every day. You can find hot products like a HD LED TV for 45% off. What’s even better? Target is offering a price match on items if you find them somewhere else at a deeper discount.

Nordstrom Rack is bouncing back from its Clear the Rack Sale with early Black Friday deals — and if you have Uggs on your list, this is the sale you want to check out first. You can snag deals like the Ugg Cory II Genuine Shearling Line Boots for $50 off! With those kinds discounts, who needs to wait for the Big Day?

Coach Outlet is a reliable source for great sales and on top of the already amazing prices, you get an extra 25% off everything sitewide. Even if you don’t need a new bag, the early Black Friday discounts are just too good to not grab a satchel, bucket bag or tote. Take, for instance, the Rowan Satchel. It’s $105, down from $350 — that’s 70% off!

The deals are coming in hot from QVC! The retailer is giving us early access to Black Friday deals and new deals are dropping every Friday. QVC knows just what we’re looking for — like the popular Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hydration Set for $43 (was $85), but there are a lot more markdowns to check out!

Amazon treats us to deals year-round, but the early Black Friday discounts are otherworldly. If you can picture a laptop for less than $150 like this Lenovo Ideapad, you get what kinds of deals we’re talking about.

It’s a good thing HSN opened up its Black Friday sale ahead of the holidays because it has everything you’ll need to perfect your holiday meals. Take these wildly popular knives from Cuisinart — $16 down from $20. That’s a deal that will make you feel pretty lucky.

Best Buy always delivers some of the best discounts on electronics for Black Friday. OLED TVs were the hot item last year and ahead of the biggest shopping day of the year, you can get the LG 48-inch Class A2 Series OLED TV for only $1,000 — a sweet $300 off!

You don’t have to be a handyman to appreciate all the great deals Home Depot is doling out — the site is basically a DIYer’s candy store right now. You can find all of the top-rated tools and gadgets at discounts that will get your motor purring, like the Milwaukee Ratchet and Impact Wrench Combo Kit for $199 — that’s $200 off the regular price.

Another Los Angeles-Area Nordstrom Robbed By Multiple Looters – Deadline

Yet another in a string a smash-and-grab robbery at a Los Angeles-area Nordstrom took place tonight. The store at the Westfield Topanga & The Village shopping center in Canoga Park was hit at about 7 p.m.

A group of at least five men, one wearing an orange wig, entered the store and stole seven or eight purses before fleeing the scene and jumping into a newer model gray Ford Mustang that sped away from the scene, according to reports from ABC7 and KCAL9.

A security guard was pepper sprayed during the heist and was taken to a hospital for treatment, though no further details were immediately available.

The robbery occurred two days after a similar group robbery by a mob of at least 20 people at the Nordstrom store at the Grove. The suspects in that robbery fled the scene in at least four vehicles. Three were arrested in South Los Angeles following a chase. Officers recovered several items of clothing, at least one cash register and gloves from their vehicle.

The incidents follow a similar mass robbery at a San Francisco-area Nordstrom store on Saturday which allegedly involved 80 people. Additionally, on Friday night, San Francisco’s Union Square saw a string of incidents. The businesses hit included a Louis Vuitton store, a Burberry store, a jewelry store, a Bloomingdale’s, a Walgreens, cannabis dispensaries and an eyeglass shop, according to S.F. Police Chief Bill Scott via CNN.

Also very early Sunday morning, the windows of Louis Vuitton and Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills were smashed, according to the Times, which reported that “multiple suspects were seen traveling in several vehicles and that they ‘descended on the locations and used a sledgehammer to try to break through front windows.’” The burglars did not get into the stores, and nothing was taken, according to police.

At about 9:45 p.m. Monday, six suspects entered a CVS Pharmacy in the 5800 block of South Vermont Avenue in South L.A. and stole three cash registers, taking about $8,500 in cash, according to Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department. It was unclear if the same suspects later targeted the Grove.

Among the Dow Jones leaders, Apple (AAPL) traded down 0.3% in Wednesday’s morning action, while Microsoft (MSFT) moved down 0.9% in today’s stock market. Nike (NKE) is back below a recent buy point after another breakout attempt.

Electric-vehicle leader Tesla (TSLA) lost 3% Wednesday. EV peer Rivian (RIVN) fell over 4%, while Lucid Motors (LCID) was down nearly 3%. Chinese EV leaders Li Auto (LI) and Xpeng Motors (XPEV) are near buy points.

Among the top stocks to buy and watch, Amazon (AMZN), Nucor (NUE) and Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) are in or near new buy zones.

Dow Jones Today: Fed Minutes, Jobless Claims

After the stock market open Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.5%, while S&P 500 moved down 0.6%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite slid 1.1% in morning trade.

Among exchange traded funds, the Nasdaq 100 tracker Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) fell 0.8%. The SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) dropped 0.5% Wednesday.

Markets will close on Thursday for the Thanksgiving Day holiday, and will run a short session on Friday, closing at 1 p.m. ET. The schedule change has the market positioning for a heavy day of economic reports on Wednesday, including third-quarter GDP, October durable goods orders, new home sales, and consumer spending and sentiment.

The Labor Department said weekly jobless claims fell to 199,000 — their lowest level since 1969 — handily topping Econoday estimates that expected initial unemployment claims to fall to 264,000 from last week’s 268,000.

In addition, minutes from the Federal Reserve’s November meeting are due out at 2 p.m. ET. The minutes should provide insight into the central bank’s plans for interest rates and tapering. Investors increasingly expect the Fed to tighten monetary policy in the near future.

Stock Market Rally

The stock market put in another mixed performance Tuesday, as the Nasdaq fell with moderate losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 logged modest gains.

On Tuesday, The Big Picture commented, “One need only look at the damage seen in enterprise software firms including Asana (ASAN) — a longtime stalwart member of the IBD 50 — CrowdStrike (CRWD), Atlassian (TEAM), Monday.com (MNDY) and Palantir Technologies (PLTR) lately to understand how quickly top growth stocks can surrender gains. All five stocks have crossed below their key 50-day moving averages, a sign of sudden weakness and a potential sign of a serious change in character.”

Five Best Dow Jones Stocks To Watch Now

Dow Jones Stocks To Buy And Watch: Apple, Nike

IBD SwingTrader stock Apple is barely extended past a 153.27 buy point out of a cup with handle, according to IBD MarketSmith chart analysis, following eight straight up days. The 5% buy zone tops out at 160.93. Shares lost 0.3% Wednesday morning.

Dow Jones retail leader Nike bullishly regained its cup base’s 174.48 buy point amid Friday’s 2.1% rally. But shares gave up that buy point on Monday and fell further below the entry during Tuesday’s 2% decline. NKE shares fell over 2% Wednesday.

Nike canceled orders to at least one retail store until summer 2022 due to supply chain issues.

Stock Market Earnings: Autodesk, Deere, Gap, Nordstrom

Autodesk (ADSK) plunged 12% Wednesday morning after the company’s current-quarter outlook fell short of estimates. ADSK shares are set to open sharply below their 50- and 200-day moving averages.

Deere (DE) rallied nearly 3% after the company beat the Street’s earnings and sales targets early Wednesday. Shares are tracing a new base with a 393.10 buy point.

Retailer Gap (GPS) crumbled 21% Wednesday after the company reported weak third-quarter results and cut its full-year guidance due to significant supply-chain constraints. Gap shares closed Tuesday about 38% off their 52-week high.

Nordstrom (JWN) sold off 21% Wednesday morning after the retailer missed third-quarter sales estimates.

Stocks To Buy And Watch: Amazon, Nucor, Pioneer

Amazon remains below its 3,605.55 buy point in a cup with handle, according to IBD MarketSmith chart analysis, following Tuesday’s 0.2% rise. AMZN shares dropped 0.5% Wednesday.

The stock’s relative strength line is coming sharply off recent lows after November’s gains, but it is well below its July high. That indicates underperformance vs. the S&P 500 over a longer time frame. Ideally, the RS line should hit a new high on the breakout day or shortly thereafter to confirm the stock as a market leader.

IBD Leaderboard stock Nucor is trying to break out past a 119.42 buy point out of a cup with handle on the heels of Monday’s 6% advance. Leaderboard noted that the price action warranted a boost from a quarter-size position to a half. The steelmaker was up 0.5% Wednesday.

Tuesday’s IBD Stock OF The Day, Pioneer Natural Resources, is rapidly approaching a flat base’s 196.74 buy point. The stock flashed an early entry, as it rebounded from its key 50-day line. Shares traded up 0.4% after Wednesday’s open.

EV Stocks: Li Auto, Xpeng, Lucid Motors, Rivian

Li Auto continues to build a cup-with-handle base that shows a 34.93 buy point, as shares rose nearly 2% Tuesday. The stock rose 2.6% Wednesday.

Xpeng Motors is extended past its 48.08 buy point in a choppy cup base following Tuesday’s earnings-fueled 8.25% rally. XPEV shares rallied another 1.7% Wednesday.

Lucid Motors shares dropped nearly 3% Wednesday, giving back a part of Tuesday’s 2.6% rally. LCID stock remains far extended past a 28.49 buy point in a cup-with-handle base.

Hot initial public offering Rivian lost over 4% Wednesday following Tuesday’s 1.5% gain.

RIVN shares closed Tuesday about 33% off their post-IPO highs. The decline is a potential positive for investors remaining disciplined and waiting for an IPO base to form before considering a purchase. The recent weakness could be the start of Rivian’s first base formation, but last week’s price action was not constructive given the huge downside reversal and high volatility.

Tesla Stock

Tesla stock dropped over 3% Wednesday, threatening to add to Tuesday’s 4.1% sell-off.

Shares traded as high as 1,243.49 on Nov. 4, but the stock ended Tuesday about 11% off its 52-week high. TSLA shares remain sharply above a 764.55 buy point in a cup with handle, as well as earlier entries at 700.10 and 730. The chart also showed an alternate entry at 900.50.

Dow Jones Leaders: Microsoft

Among the top Dow Jones stocks, software giant Microsoft moved down 0.9% Wednesday, threatening to extend a losing streak to three sessions.

On Oct. 18, Microsoft stock broke out past a flat base’s 305.94 buy point. The 5% buy zone topped out at 321.24, so the stock is extended.

Smash-and-grab thefts at L.A. Nordstrom trigger police chase

A group of alleged thieves broke into a Nordstrom store at a popular Los Angeles shopping center in an apparent smash-and-grab spree and fled the scene, triggering a police car chase, officials said.

A call came in at 10:40 p.m. PT about suspects breaking into a store at The Grove shopping center, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Mike Lopez said Monday evening. Initially it was unknown if anything was stolen.

Suspects smashed a store window using a sledgehammer and merchandise was found littered outside, KNBC reported.

Los Angeles police said an unknown number of suspects fled in an SUV and a pursuit was initiated by Wilshire officers in the area.

The chase ended at 98th Street and Hoover Street in South Los Angeles. The driver of the car stopped in a residential area and took off running, according to KNBC.

Three suspects were taken into custody, police said Tuesday morning.

Initially it appeared that no other stores were damaged or affected in the incident. No injuries were reported in the incident, KNBC reported.

It’s unclear how many suspects were involved and how much merchandise was stolen.

Noting recent headlines, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he was ordering the California Highway Patrol to increase its presence at major shopping destinations. He also proposed increased spending on measures to combat shoplifting.

“The level of organized retail theft we are seeing is simply unacceptable,” Newsom said in a statement Monday night. “Businesses and customers should feel safe while doing their holiday shopping.”

On Saturday night about 80 suspects descended on a Nordstrom in Walnut Creek, California, local police said.

An employee was pepper sprayed, and two others were punched and kicked, a police spokesperson said. Suspects were in and out of the store within a minute, police said. Officials didn’t specify the estimated value of the items that were stolen. Walnut Creek police said three people were arrested in connection with Saturday night’s incident.

Similarly, 14 suspects were caught on surveillance footage storming into a Louis Vuitton store at the Oakbrook Center mall in Oak Brook, Illinois, on Wednesday and escaped in three getaway vehicles, Oak Brook police said.

20 looters hit LA Nordstrom store in smash-and-grab break-in

Three suspects were arrested after looters stormed a Nordstrom store in Los Angeles on Monday night, stealing an unknown amount of merchandise.

Twenty looters struck the Nordstrom store at The Grove, a high-end shopping mall, shortly before 11 p.m., according to CBS Los Angeles.

Authorities said the individuals smashed the windows with a sledgehammer before entering. The suspects fled in four vehicles, with police engaging in a pursuit with one of the cars and later arresting three of the people after they attempted to flee on foot.

Just an hour before the Nordstrom looting, a CVS located about 10 miles away was also hit by burglars, who reportedly stole $8,500 in cash. Police are investigating to see if there’s a connection between the two incidents, CBS Los Angeles reported.

California has seen a wave of looting and department store break-ins. On Saturday, more than 80 people arrived in 25 vehicles and broke into a Nordstrom near San Francisco, stealing up to $200,000 in merchandise, police told local news outlet KTVU.

On Sunday, looters also broke into a Louis Vuitton and a Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills.

California Gov. Gavin NewsomGavin NewsomUnraveling the supply chain mess Was education really the winning wedge issue for the GOP? School board elections tell a different story Five faces from the media who became political candidates MORE (D) said the California Highway Patrol would step up its presence around such stores amid the rise in break-ins.

“You will see substantially more, starting today, in and around areas that are highly trafficked coming into the holiday season, Black Friday, shopping malls, so the state is supplementing those efforts and we are going to be more aggressive still,” he told reporters at an event on Monday.

Dozens of thieves hit Walnut Creek Nordstrom, S.F. police probe possible links to Union Square heists

Bay Area retailers were on alert Sunday after about 80 people rushed a Nordstrom store in Walnut Creek and stole merchandise, a day after groups of thieves ransacked San Francisco high-end retailers in Union Square. San Francisco police were investigating possible linkage between the brazen heists.

Walnut Creek police warned stores to take precautions againt the prospect of further incursions.

“Our investigators will be looking into the Walnut Creek incident to see if they are related,” San Francisco Police Department spokesman Officer Robert Rueca said Sunday afternoon.

The back-to-back thefts occurred 25 miles and two days apart, on Friday in Union Square, and Saturday night in at the department store in Walnut Creek. In both cases, dozens of people ransacked stores, scooping up armfuls of merchandise such as clothing and bags and dashing away.

Walnut Creek police called the Nordstrom assault “clearly a planned event” and said unconfirmed “intelligence” indicated the same group of thieves might attempt more retail crime later Sunday. Police tweeted Sunday that they knew of no specific target or timing for the next planned thievery, but “out of an abundance of caution,” they were deploying more officers and reserves. They urged businesses and residents to be prepared, and said “some stores may consider closing early or taking other precautions.”

Rueca said the San Francisco investigation was broad due to the high number of suspects involved. In a video taken at one of the San Francisco stores targeted, as many as 30 people appeared to be involved in vandalism or theft, he said. Retailers including Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Bloomingdale’s in the Westfield mall and Yves Saint Laurent on Geary , plus two cannabis dispensaries, were among those hit, police said.

The heists in the two Bay Area cities followed a string of similar group thievery assaults in Chicago, dealing blows to retail companies trying to get their holiday seasons underway after struggling through more than a year of pandemic hardship.

Three people were arrested in the Nordstrom incident Saturday, which Walnut Creek police said was “organized retail theft.”

Police said they began receiving calls about cars driving recklessly near the Nordstrom store on Broadway Plaza just before 9 p.m. Saturday.

Nordstrom employees also called 911 to report that approximately 80 people stole merchandise, police said in a news release.

Two Nordstrom workers were assaulted and one was pepper-sprayed by the looters, police said.

Video of the Walnut Creek incident posted on Twitter showed several people carrying bags of merchandise from the department store and fleeing in vehicles.

Police said they stopped one of the cars and arrested two people, one of whom had a firearm. They said a third person who had stolen merchandise was arrested nearby soon afterward.

Those arrested face charges of robbery, burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property, police said.

Police identified the suspects as Dana Dawson, 30, of San Francisco, who also faced gun charges; Joshua Underwood, 32, of San Francisco; and Rodney Robinson, 18, of Oakland.

“The remaining participants in this criminal mob fled from the area in cars at high speeds,” police said in the release.

Walnut Creek police said investigators were reviewing surveillance footage to identify other suspects and have asked anyone with information to contact Detective Deng at deng@walnutcreekpd.com.

San Francisco’s downtown remained rattled after the Friday night mayhem in Union Square, in which police arrested at least eight people. Dramatic videos on social media showed masked people running with their arms loaded with goods, followed by a swift police response as officers ran to a car and broke windows with batons while a patrol car raced up to block it from leaving.

‘It Was Insane’; Dozens Of Looters Ransack Walnut Creek Nordstrom Store – CBS San Francisco

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) — Dozens of looters swarmed into the Nordstrom store in downtown Walnut Creek Saturday night, terrorizing shoppers, ripping off bag loads of merchandise and ransacking shelves before fleeing in a several vehicles waiting for them on the street.

Walnut Creek Lt. Ryan Hibbs told KPIX 5 that police began receiving calls about the looting at around 9 p.m. He said there were approximately 80 individuals who ran into the store and began looting and smashing shelves.

Video shot at the scene shows the masked looters streaming out of the store, carrying bags and boxes, jumping into the cars.

Dozens of police vehicles also responded to the scene.

Hibbs said officers stopped one vehicle and arrested both suspects — a male and a female — inside. The male was charged with robbery, possession of stolen property, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools. The female was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm.

Stolen property from the looting and a firearm was recovered from their vehicle.
