Santa Monica Studio Pleads for Minimal God of War Ragnarok Spoilers As Game Leaks
Update: Santa Monica Studio has shown as little of God of War Ragnarok as possible prior to release, so it’s a shame to see the game break street date and begin to leak. Subsequently, the developer has released a statement, pleading with fans to keep story information to themselves. It adds that it’s doing its best to “limit the exposure of unsanctioned footage” but admits it “cannot catch everything”.
The studio then goes on to suggest that players mute specific keywords or hashtags associated with the game until launch day. Obviously, it’s gutting that it’s come to this, but that’s just the way of the world we suppose.
Original Story: An idiotic reviewer had already spoiled some sections of God of War Ragnarok earlier in the month, but now things are about to get really wild, as retailers begin to break street date. Santa Monica Studio has been keeping its hotly anticipated sequel under wraps, and still very little is known about the title – even two weeks prior to its release.
However, with the game now in consumers’ hands, it’s going to be difficult to sidestep some of the spoilers that will inevitably come out. Cory Barlog, the director of the previous God of War, took to Twitter to express his displeasure, referencing the recent situation with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which only has 70MB of data on its Blu-ray:
Barlog continued: “Sorry to everyone that you have to dodge the spoilers if you want to play the game fresh. Completely f**king stupid you have to do this. This is not at all how any of us at Santa Monica Studio wanted things to go.”

Madame Sylvia Wu, whose Santa Monica Chinese restaurant served generations of Southern Californians and many celebrities, died on Sept. 29 at 106, her family confirmed.
In her later years, Wu stayed in the West side’s mind with cookbooks, television shows, and charity work, particularly at the City of Hope cancer center.

Frank Sinatra, Mia Farrow, Mae West, Paul Newman, Princess Grace and many more dined at Madame Wu’s over the years. That venture was not as successful, but Madame Wu remained dear to her longtime customers.
Survivors include sons George and Patrick and numerous grandchildren. Her husband died in 2011. The two had been married 67 years.

An Australian actress who was feared missing by her family because didn’t call she after a first date has in fact spent the last four days in a jail cell, DailyMail.com can reveal today.
Laura McCulloch, 37, had told her family she was meeting up with a man from a dating app, and even sent them a picture of her outfit before leaving on August 12.
But after she didn’t show up to work, yoga class and her other regular commitments, her family raised the alarm and sparked an online manhunt for the actress.
They said that she was last seen at trendy Japanese chain-restaurant Gyu-Kaku in Los Angeles and was due to meet someone she contacted on ‘Bumble or Tinder’.
DailyMail.com can now reveal that she had been locked up in a prison cell after allegedly throwing a drink at another customer and resisting cops – biting one on the shoulder.
Santa Monica police have confirmed that McCulloch was arrested on Friday, shortly before her family raised the alarm that she had apparently vanished.
According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department she is being held on a felony charge, with a $25,000 bond.
Officers were called to reports of McCulloch throwing a drink at a fellow restaurant goer and their two-year-old child.
McCulloch was reportedly showing ‘obvious signs of intoxication’ while shouting at the officers and ‘charging’ at them.

In a statement the Santa Monica Police Department said: ‘On Friday, August 12, 2022 at approximately 8:30pm Santa Monica Police Department Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Arizona for what was reported as a battery.
‘According the reporting party, a female, later identified as Laura McCulloch, threw a drink at a restaurant patron and their 2-year-old child.
‘Upon arrival, officers contacted Ms. McCulloch who showed obvious signs of intoxication.
‘While conducting the investigation, McCulloch charged the at the officers while yelling expletives.
‘Despite efforts to calm her, McCulloch continued to display aggressive behaviors. During efforts to detain her, she became physically combative, kicked at officers and bit one officer on the shoulder.
‘Laura McCulloch, 37 years old from Australia, was arrested, transported to the Santa Monica Jail and booked for public intoxication and resisting arrest.’

Her sister Clare posted on Instagram saying: ‘She has been found safe and well.
‘The family want to thank everyone for your help and support in what has been a traumatic time.’

Laura McCulloch moved to LA after being based in New York in 2021 where she worked as an actor, singer, voice-over artist, writer and producer.
Her only screen credit in 2022 is an indie short film called ‘Covid Support Group’ and directed by an American filmmaker Abigail Bogle.
In March 2021 she played Madame Le Farge in an American stage version of A Tale of Two Cities at Bob Jones University in South Carolina.
She has also worked as a nanny in between roles.
In 2010 she appeared in an Australian short film called The Black Sheep and in 2009 she had a supporting role in a film version of classic ballet The Nutcracker.

Beyoncé Officially Removes Kelis’ Sample Off Renaissance Album; Monica Lewinsky Calls for Similar Move in 2013 Song
Update as of 8/4/2022 at 10:30a.m.ET: Kelis has responded to the interpolation of her hit song “Milkshake” being taken off of Beyonce’s Renaissance album. Thanks to fans who began comment creeping on Instagram, Kelis is apparently very grateful for the removal but she’s not moved by it.
“You happy Beyonce took that sample off, cry baby?,” one Instagram user asked according to Hollywood Unlocked. Kelis responded: “Yes I am actually, lol nobody cried.”
When another user said: “TBH, I would have just been happy to be on the album,” Kelis wrote: “And that’s why you are you and thank God I am me lol.”

Now, it appears all that hubbub was for nothing as Beyoncé has taken the usage of the song off the album in its entirety.

Per Billboard, the usage of the song appeared on the fifth song on the album, “Energy,” and has now been removed on both Tidal and Apple Music. Subsequently, the move was met with much fanfare online, with many applauding the “Black Parade” singer for removing it outright so as not to further feed into any drama.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Queen Bey has post-audited the album since its release last Friday. As previously reported by The Root, after receiving backlash for her song “Heated —which featured the word “spaz” and was quickly met with disdain from disability advocates who claimed the lyrics were “offensive and ableist,”—the multi-Grammy-winning artist later confirmed in a statement that it would be replaced.
And while those in the community raised a valid point, someone else decided to hop on the bandwagon in an attempt to get Bey to remove or change lyrics from a different song she put out nearly 10 years ago. As EW notes, on Tuesday, Monica Lewisnky (yes, that Monica Lewinksy) sent out a tweet that seemingly suggested that she wanted her name replaced in Beyonce’s 2013 hit song “Partition.”
The particular line in the song, Bey is referring to a man who “Monica Lewisnky’d all on my gown.” However, folks online were quick to call out her hypocrisy, noting that she has “rap song muse” in her Twitter bio while others cited a 2014 Vanity Fair article she wrote in which she thanked Beyoncé for including her on the song but quipped about how it was used incorrectly.
“Miley Cyrus references me in her twerking stage act, Eminem raps about me, and Beyoncé’s latest hit gives me a shout-out. Thanks, Beyoncé,” an excerpt from the article read. “But if we’re verbing, I think you meant ‘Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,’ not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d.’”
She later clarified that in that moment, she was using humor to deal with “painful or humiliating things” as she often does, and that she had not “directly” reached out to Beyoncé’s camp to have the lyrics officially changed.
Monica aside though, if artists are going to start editing their albums due to some people’s disdain of them, whether warranted or not, they have to be very careful of the slippery slope they may end up embarking on if this becomes precedent. Any person, brand, or entity could then cause an uproar all in an attempt to get lyrics changed and I shouldn’t have to tell you how dangerously close that comes to censorship if that kind of thinking and action gets enacted by the wrong party.
