Kim Kardashian needs three people to CRAM her bottom into fragile Marilyn Monroe dress

Kim Kardashian reveals how much work it took for her to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s iconic ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ dress for the Met Gala… AFTER losing 16 pounds.

The 41-year-old Kardashian flew to the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not headquarters in Orlando, Florida to try on the dress… after an apparently persuasive phone call from Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner.

After a strenuous three-week workout and diet regimen, Kim was able to fit into the original gown… with the help of three other people… though the dress wasn’t fully zipped over her behind.

Towards the beginning of the episode, Kim has arrived at the Ripley’s headquarters in Orlando, Florida, though her boyfriend Pete Davidson still has yet to be featured.

Both Kim and Pete were seen at Ripley’s in videos taken at the Orlando facilities in May, though Pete is nowhere to be seen in the new episode.

Kim is seen admiring a full makeup kid that Marilyn herself used, which is one of many Marilyn artifacts in the room.

There is also an iconic oversized cardigan sweater Marilyn wore on the Santa Monica beach for a photo shoot with George Barris in 1962, along with the famous picture of her wearing it.

She shows the makeup kit to her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic through a video call, adding she’s about to try the original Marilyn dress on.

‘We’re trying it on now. If not I’m going in this sweater… just kidding,’ Kim jokes, referring to the iconic cardigan.

‘I flew all the way to Florida to try on the Marilyn dress at Ripley’s. They were not gonna let me wear this dress. They were not gonna let me even try it on, until Kris Jenner calls,’ Kim says in confession.

Kris is asked by a producer in confession, ‘What did you say to Ripley’s? Cause they were like flat out no,’ as Kris can only laugh.

They cut back to Kim who says she practically begged Kris to make this happen – ‘I was like, “Please mom, if you make this happen I’ll… marry you,’ as the producers are heard laughing when Kim adds, ‘I would have done anything.’

Kris says, ‘I cannot tell you my secrets, but if somebody says no, you know what I say, you’re talking to the wrong person,’ a line that Khloe had said during their Variety interview.

Kim adds that she was, ‘screaming at her on the phone’ adding she’d put in an appearance at Ripley’s and Kris kept telling her to shut up.

‘So, after my mom’s conversation, they’ve agreed to let me try on the dress, one last time, and if it fits, I’m going to the Met. If it doesn’t fit, I’m not going to the Met.’

Kim is seen putting on her shapewear before stepping into the original dress, as she adds in confession that she’s been, ‘working my a** off to see my vision come to life. I will be crushed if this doesn’t pay off.’

The dress is seen being pulled up over her behind, as she asks if she needs to put on, ‘another pair of shapewear.’

‘It’s hard because you can’t shimmy into this dress the way that I really would, that’s the difficult part, it just has to glide up,’ she says in confession, as a number of women wearing white gloves try to work the dress up.

Shapewear: Kim is seen putting on her shapewear before stepping into the original dress, as she adds in confession that she’s been, ‘working my a** off to see my vision come to life. I will be crushed if this doesn’t pay off’

‘Kim, push your a**,’ says Chris Stapleton, as Kim explains, ‘He lifted up my butt in my SKIMS, kind of repositioned my shapewear, and then it went up.’

‘Oh my God… it fits, ‘Kim says, though the dress doesn’t zip all the way up her butt as Kim asks if they can use the tie on top and ‘keep it open.’

Kim adds, ‘What if we did that and then put a fur over it?’ as one of the Ripley’s women says that’s, ‘a perfect idea.’

‘It’s happening. This is happening. I’m going to be wearing Marilyn Monroe’s original dress to the Met Ball,’ Kim adds in confession.

She hops on a video call with her sister Khloe and says, ‘It kinda fits… kinda. I mean, the back doesn’t zip. My butt still doesn’t fit, but it goes up.’

‘Kimberly, shut the f**k up that you got in that,’ Khloe is heard saying over the phone, adding, ‘I’m so proud of you.’

Kim adds in confession that she’s happy but she can’t celebrate because the Blac Chyna trial ‘just started, so I just have to focus, because I have no time.’

The episode begins in Milan, where Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker and family friends such as Simon Huck and Steph Shepherd, visit a famous church.

Church: The episode begins in Milan, where Kourtney Kardashian, Travis Barker and family friends such as Simon Huck and Steph Shepherd, visit a famous church

As they’re leaving the private offices of Dolce & Gabbanna, Kourtney thanks Travis for doing this for her, before Kourtney reveals in confession she has, ‘a super busy week.’

‘Tomorrow’s fitting is the most important one, which is my actual wedding dress and his actual wedding outfit,’ Kourtney explains.

They walk towards the church as Kourtney tells Travis that her legs almost gave out, adding, ‘the jet-lag, the stairs, the running three miles…’ though Travis adds, ‘but that’s how we do it, baby.’

‘It’s all preparing you to walk down that aisle, babe,’ Travis adds, joking that she could ‘run down the aisle,’ if she wants.

She joked that she would run down the aisle when she first sees him and he says, ‘That would be the cutest thing ever.’

They take pictures in front of the church with Travis lifting her up as they make out in front of the church, before marveling at the church’s architecture.

‘How crazy is all the carving and the marble?’ Kourtney asks, before they’re ushered into the church without the camera crew.

They leave and thank the people at the church, and when they walk back to their vehicle, a fan yells out, ‘It’s Travis Baker!’

Kourtney jokes that she loves it when people call him Travis Scott, the father of Kylie Jenner’s children, as Kourtney adds, ‘Or when they call me Khloe.’

They get to their car as an unseen fan asks, ‘Can you say Bye to us?’ as Kourtney obliges before getting in the vehicle.

After Kim trying on Marilyn’s dress in Orlando, the episode cuts back to Milan, where Kourtney and Travis are getting ready for their final fitting.

Kourtney asks if they’re all going to cry today, adding she has anxiety, while someone on her team admitted they already cried this morning.

Kourtney says to the camera this is her first time trying on her wedding dress, while she tells Travis, ‘Remember we were just going to run away? Just get married you and I? We tried.’

They arrive at Dolce & Gabbana’s offices again, as they marvel at the offices and again suggest to just get married there.

There is a woman playing the piano when they arrive and Travis says they should have her at their wedding.

Kourtney adds Travis gave her ‘an abundance of caffeine’ before they greet Domenico Dolce, the co-founder of Dolce & Gabanna with Stefano Gabanna.

‘I have known Domenico Dolce for years now. Vacationed at their home over the years in Portofino, he was at my 40th birthday party, so we’re super excited to be working with him.’

Domenico says he wants to make it the best, like his wedding, adding he’d like to marry again, with a laugh.

Domenico says they will talk with Puny, which is the most famous restaurant in Portofino, for the entire family.

He wonders if anyone in the family has allergies and Kourtney says that Travis is vegan, as Domenico jokes he will forget who he is during the wedding.

‘No, if you have some, we organize a special dish, adding that Portofino is a ‘public area’ and it will be ‘impossible’ to avoid paparazzi.

‘If you walk in Portofino, you have paparazzi,’ Domenico says, as Travis goes to try on his last few remaining looks for the wedding and Kourtney gets to see her dress for the first time.

‘Oh my God. That is crazy,’ Kourtney says of the elegant white minidress with an elaborate train, as Kourtney sees the mini version of the dress.

Domenico mentions the dress was made, ‘point by point,’ handmade and not made by machines at all.

She tries on the dress as Steph says it’s, ‘like nothing I’ve seen before’ as Kourtney walks out from behind the changing curtain.

Domenico and his team start making small alterations, as Kourtney explains in confession that he, ‘springs into action, biting bones out of my dress, cutting things and completely building a dress on me.’

Domenico says he wants the dress to push up on her chest and not down as they keep altering the dress as Kourtney says, ‘That is some surgery.’

Meanwhile, Travis is getting fitted for his suit with his stylist Chris Kim, as Travis says, ‘They’re making everything perfect.’

‘To some people I may look crazy with all these tattoos, but whatever. I like my wedding day to be like classic and traditional sort of,’ Travis tells the camera.

Stefano Gabbana arrives, telling Kourtney that she will need two people behind her to take care of the elegant train.

Dolce explains that Kris will walk her up the aisle and shake hands with Travis, and she and Travis kiss right away, much different from a traditional American ceremony.

‘Oh, right away? To start?’ Kourtney asks as Stefano says, ‘This is Italy,’ and Kourtney says, ‘That makes me feel so much better.’

She starts a video call with her mother Kris, wearing her full wedding dress, but Corey answers, saying Kris is in the shower.

‘Oh… I was trying to show my mom my wedding dress,’ Kourtney explains, as Corey says she looks, ‘Amazing,’ before Kris comes on the line.

‘Oh my God. You look like a little doll,’ Kris says over the phone. ‘Oh my goodness, Kourt, you look so beautiful. I want to cry. I would have never thought I would be looking at you in a wedding dress naked in the shower.’

She said she loved them and hoped they are having the best time and she says they are before disconnecting the call.

Kourtney’s stylist Dani Michelle asks if she’s happy and she says she is, adding, ‘I think he made it perfection.’

Her friend Steph Shepherd added, ‘I can’t believe it. I was like, Oh my God she’s in a wedding dress,’ as Kourt adds, ‘I know, I never thought there would be a reason.’

The episode cuts back to Los Angeles, as Kim and Khloe are getting ready for a fitting, with Kim saying Khloe is, ‘skinnier than ever.’

Fashion designer Jeremy Scott tells Khloe that she is, ‘skinnier than the models who would do the show,’ as Khloe tries on a bustier.

Khloe reveals in confession, ‘I have officially been invited to the Met. I have been invited in the past, I just opted not to go. I’m not big on red carpets. I think I’ve made that very clear, but good old Kimberly has a way with words and I am also sort of a pushover when it comes to some things, so I guess I allowed her to push me over.’

Kim tells the camera, ‘Do you guys get how cool this is that you have Jeremy Scott in Khloe’s house, on camera? You guys just don’t get it. I mean, maybe you do. I get it. It’s a really big deal.’

Kim adds this year will be the first time that all of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters will be going to the Met Gala together, and it will be both Kourtney and Khloe’s first time.

Khloe says that somehow it’s online already, and Kim said she saw it on celeb gossip site DeuxMoi, which she jokes is, ‘the Bible.’

Kim adds in confession that Khloe has always been, ‘really nervous to go to the Met, but after this year, we decide she’s going, and that’s it.’

A producer asks, ‘Who’s we?’ Kim responds, ‘Me… and myself,’ while Khloe tries on her glittering gold gown.

Kim says in confession that they plan on getting ready and glamming together and they will, ‘make this the best experience ever and you’re gonna feel good about yourself and show the world, “F**k you, I’m invited to the Met, dude.’

Nervous: Kim adds in confession that Khloe has always been, ‘really nervous to go to the Met, but after this year, we decide she’s going, and that’s it’

Kim says the dress is, ‘so beautiful,’ though Khloe adds, ‘I can’t breathe but that’s fine,’ as Kim and Jeremy joke that breathing is overrated.

Khloe asks if they will shorten the dress a bit and Jeremy says they will, but when she says she’s too tall, he insists, ‘You are not too tall. You are perfect. These gorgeous long legs, please, heaven.’

Khloe adds in confession, ‘I love that everyone is being so supportive, but that doesn’t take away from how many cameras are gonna be there and how long this carpet is, and that’s really overwhelming.’

Kim takes off as Jeremy says Khloe looks like a movie star as Kris arrives and Khloe says, ‘the boss… the other boss’ is here.

Kris raves about Khloe’s look and Khloe asks if Kris has had a vodka and she says, ‘Of course I have.’

Kris adds in confession, ‘I am absolutely, mentally, spiritually, physically tired. Tired from the trial, tired from being in the courthouse all day every day.’

They show news footage including sketches of the family in the courthouse, adding in confession it’s ‘exhausting’ so it will be a ‘two-martini night… maybe three.’

Kris tells Jeremy that Kim was trying to prepare Khloe for the red carpet at the Met, as Kris tries to replicate the experience by yelling at her like paparazzi would on the red carpet.

Kris adds in confession, ‘Listen, I’m the voice of reason. I want to get her mentally prepared so when she walks out onto the biggest red carpet there is, she knows exactly what to expect. I don’t want her to get there and scream at me because I didn’t prepare her.’

Khloe adds in confession that she feels, ‘really great’ in the dress and there needs to be some work done but it’s, ‘incredible how it looks.’

The episode cuts back to Milan where Kourtney and Travis play patty-cake, for whatever reason, before heading out for dinner.

Kourtney explains to Travis that they can make anything vegan that he wants, as Travis marvels at the gnocchi.

‘Today was like a fairy tale,’ Kourtney tells the table, as she’s asked if she’ll want glam for her bachelorette party.

Travis asks what day the bachelorette party is and she says it’s May 10 and 11, adding he’s ‘not a planner’ so he was making sure.

Kourtney tells the party that she started laying out the plan for Milan and she saw him, ‘spiraling’ and asked if he didn’t want to know and he said, ‘Yeah.’

Kourtney says she sent pictures of her wedding dress to her family and Kris said they said they wished she could be there adding, ‘Blac Chyna is ruining it all,’ referring to the trial.

Simon Huck adds that it’s, ‘just so Kourtney,’ that she wasn’t part of the trial when most of the rest of her family is.

‘I haven’t even seen one thing about it. Are there photos?’ Kourtney asks and is told there are only courtroom sketches.

Kourtney proposes a toast, thanking everyone for their, ‘time and opinions and love for this whole adventure in Italy.’

Simon jokes, ‘Oh my God, Kourtney is making speeches? Who is this woman?’ Kourtney insists, ‘That’s the longest speech you’ll ever hear from me ever.’

The episode cuts back to Los Angeles, as Kim continues working out so she can continue to fit into the Marilyn dress.

She tells her trainer Melissa Alcantara that she’s back down to 118 pounds after she jumped up to 120 pounds, which she said was, ‘tripping me out.’

‘So I fit into the dress, but I’m not gonna stop working out. I have this sauna suit and you put it on and it makes you just sweat. Even if it’s just water weight, it helps,’ Kim says in confession.

Kim’s trainer says for her to do 10 minutes on the treadmill and then another 10 minutes on the Stairmaster, as Kim speaks directly into the camera.

‘We have four days until the Met Ball. I still need to dye my hair blonde, I don’t know when I’m gonna do that, I have only a day to go blonde. When I thought to go in Marilyn Monroe’s dress – and I know how precious and fragile the dress is, I knew I had to lose at least 10 pounds for it to even go up on me,’ Kim said.

‘This feels exhausting, but it feels like a movie role, you know? How an actor will lose weight, gain weight for roles? It feels like my role is Marilyn Monroe. I’m determined,’ she adds as they show workout footage of Kim.

She gets a call and says she has to go because the trial has gone to closing arguments.

‘I need to be there for closing arguments, obviously as a defendant of this case, but also as an aspiring attorney, I need to see the closing arguments to see how they piece it all together. This is like the first real trial that I’ve seen, which is the best law school you can imagine,’ Kim says.

Kim adds in confession she has been taking notes during the trial and it was, ‘so interesting to see that you have to follow the proper process to get evidence submitted.’

She adds it’s ‘scary’ but ‘fascinating’ to be living it and learning at the same time.

‘There’s not a chance I’m missing this. This is like what I live for,’ Kim says in confession, before adding at her home gym that her ‘butt is all wet’ and she needs her butt to shrink.

‘I love you Marilyn, but our curves are in different places,’ Kim says as her trainer laughs, as Kim tells her she’ll work out tonight and tomorrow morning.

The episode cuts to an airfield as Khloe, Corey and Kris boards Kylie’s private plane en route to New York City for the Met.

‘I am like literally panicking about tomorrow. Not just about the Met, but also the f***ing verdict,’ Khloe says, as news footage shows jury deliberations continue with the trial.

‘The facts are the facts, the fact though that we’re in trial blows my mind,’ Khloe adds, as Kris says they didn’t do anything dishonest.

Khloe is wondering why it’s taking so long but Kris says nothing surprises her anymore, as Kris boards her plane before they take off for New York City.

‘I feel like we’ve gone through every memory at this point,’ Khloe says in confession.

Back in Milan, Kourtney and Travis are getting ready to head to New York City themselves as Khloe tries to get Travis to not look at pictures of her wedding dress on her phone.

Memory: ‘I feel like we’ve gone through every memory at this point,’ Khloe says in confession

Kourtney explains they’re going directly to Tom Brown for their fitting for their Met looks while her team thanks her for a ‘magical’ trip.

‘I have no idea what time it is. We’ve been on Italy time zone, now we’re in New York. We’ve been eating pasta and drinking cappuccinos. I think it’s the opposite of everyone’s Met prep,’ Kourtney says in confession.

Kourtney and Travis go to their fitting at Tom Brown for both of their first ever Met, as Kourtney explains in confession that they’re the first couple Tom Brown is dressing together.

‘I don’t think we feel nervous about going to the Met. I think we’re just happy experiencing it together,’ Kourtney adds.

She adds that Tom’s vision was to have Travis, ‘polished and buttoned-up and proper and I am the unfinished version, like deconstructed of Travis’ look. It’s kind of the opposites of what we are.’

They try on various looks apart, but they really ‘come together’ when they’re next to each other, with Kourtney saying they’re not taking ‘solo pics.’

‘Our looks work together, which is how we feel at our stage in our lives,’ Kourtney explains in confession.

Travis thinks that both of their looks together are a ‘conversation piece’ but they wouldn’t be solo.

Across town, Kim is in her hotel with hairstylist Chris Stapleton, revealing they’re watching the new Marilyn Monroe documentary on Netflix, to get in the mood.

‘Tomorrow is Met Monday and I didn’t get a lot of sleep because we had to pull an all-nighter to dye my hair blonde,’ Kim adds in confession.

She adds the hair dying process is ‘tedious and annoying’ but adds it’s, ‘dedication’ on her part.

Chris says the last time they did this it took a week to get the color and now they have just two days.

He adds that Kim is ‘so dedicated’ and he’s ‘never met anyone more dedicated than Kim.’

‘It has to be the right color. My hair can’t fall out. We have to get it right. We have one day to dye it. We’re gonna be up for 15 hours,’ Kim says.

A producer asks how many Met Gala’ she’s been to as she counts all the looks up and says she’s gone to eight Met Gala’s and this will be her ninth.

‘This I can’t walk, I can’t sweat, I can’t breathe. If one little stone falls off, I’ll have to pay millions of dollars,’ Kim adds.

Chris adds this year is different because she won’t be leaving the hotel wearing her red carpet look.

‘I can’t walk out of the hotel and walk down. They’re gonna have to put up barriers, get me out of the hotel in a robe. They’re putting a dressing thing on the red carpet, and I’m gonna put it on there,’ Kim says.

A producer asks, ‘Oh, you’re not getting dressed here?’ Kim answers, ‘No, because I can’t sit in a car, I can’t risk it. It’s so fragile, you guys. No one can touch me. So if anyone touches me and gets their oils on the dress… it’s too risky to get in the car and leave from the hotel and do it.’

‘So, all of this – the losing the weight, dying the hair for 30 hours, leaving the hotel in a robe, getting there, changing on the red carpet, just walking to the top of the red carpet, then changing again into a replica of the dress, because we can’t risk sitting in it and eating dinner, is all for maybe 10 minutes of my life, just on the red carpet. Like that’s it,’ Kim says, though Chris adds, ‘It will live in history.’

A producer asks, ‘What do you think people are going to say about you wearing the dress?’

‘I’m a little nervous some people will hate and be like, “How dare she think she can just step into Marilyn’s dress, and I get that,’ Kim says.

Chris adds, ‘You are like the modern-day Marilyn, so I love that you’re still being you,’ as Kim adds, ‘I don’t want to say I’m the modern-day Marilyn,’ and Chris says, ‘I’ll say it. She’s the modern-day Marilyn,’ but Kim says, ‘I don’t think that.’

‘I love that Marilyn was a normal girl and figured it out and became the most famous woman in the entire world. It’s just fascinating,’ Kim says.

‘This year’s Met is all about dedication and hard work and having my own voice and vision. Being determined and making s**t happen. I’ve never had that strong of willpower in my life before,’ Kim says in confession.

A producer mentions that they might read the verdict for the Blac Chyna trial during the Met Gala, as Kim jokes, ‘I’m cleared from defamation so I don’t care what happens to those hoes… I’m just kidding.’

They show the slow progression of Kim’s hair dye job before the episode cuts to Khloe visiting Kylie in her hotel, trying on her full Met Gala look, when Kendall arrives too.

Kendall is seen topless with a billowing black dress as she admits, ‘For a moment, we considered doing the carpet with no shirt.

She opted for a black top but when she’s in the limo she says she has to pee… as she’s given an ice bucket.

Kim is seen in the car telling someone on the phone, ‘this is such a big f***-up, you missed the drop-off.’

‘One thing after another was going wrong and I was like, “Oh do not f**k with me today,’ Kim says in confession as the preview ends.

The brief post-credit scene shows Kylie saying she is ‘obsessed’ with her mom Kris Jenner, and when a producer asks if she’s Kris’ favorite, Kylie says, ‘That’s exactly what I’m saying.’

‘We actually have a relationship like she has no other kids, yeah. We’re always like, “Those f***ers over there,”’ joking she doesn’t remember their names.

Sophie Turner turned down Kendall Jenner’s Met Gala party invite

She keeps up with the Kardashians — until she can’t!

Sophie Turner admitted she turned down Kendall Jenner’s 2022 Met Gala afterparty invitation because she is too big a fan of the model and her famous family.

“She was at the Met, and I love the Kardashians,” the former “Game of Thrones” actress, 26, told Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” Friday.

“But I think she’s, like, so gorgeous in real life, and I was so struck by her beauty, and she invited me to … this low-key afterparty,” Turner continued. “She went, like, ‘Do you want to come?’ And I just went, ‘No, no, I don’t.’ And I’m like, ‘Why? Why do I so this to myself?’”

The  “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” star said she went home to sit in bed and eat pasta instead.

“I was like, ‘Could be somewhere else right now, but I’m not,’” she added.

Sophie Turner told Jimmy Fallon she was too starstruck by Kendall Jenner to accept the model’s Mat Gala afterparty invitation.

Turner and her husband, Joe Jonas — who are expecting their second child — attended fashion’s biggest night Monday in coordinating Louis Vuitton ensembles, while Jenner, 26, stunned in Prada.

Jenner’s mom, Kris Jenner, and sisters, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, attended the event as well for the first time as a family.

Turner publicly showed love for the Kardashian-Jenners before brushing elbows with them at Vogue’s “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”-themed fête.

In January, she and Jonas, 32, reenacted a 2015 scene from “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” in a viral TikTok that saw the couple impersonating Kim, 41, and Khloé, 37.

But it isn’t just the Kardashian-Jenners who make Turner starstruck. She told Fallon, 47, Friday that she is “really bad” around all celebrities.

“I can’t quite fathom that I’m actually invited to these things and I’m not, like, a competition winner, you know? So, I mean, every celebrity I come into contact with, I act up or say something stupid,” she explained.

“And recently, if a celebrity interacts with me, I immediately shut them down and I’m like, ‘I don’t want anything to do with you.’ And secretly I’m like, ‘Oh, my God!’”

Met Gala 2022 ‘love square’: Jacob Elordi, Kaia Gerber, Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler attend

The Met Gala 2022 was filled with A-list celebrities dressed in their best for fashion’s biggest night of the year.

And while they certainly didn’t show it on the red carpet, some of the stars attending the lavish event in New York City were actually involved in an awkward ‘love square’ scenario.

Euphoria star Jacob Elordi, 24, arrived solo after previously attending the 2021 Met Gala afterparty with his ex-girlfriend Kaia Gerber, 20.

However, the couple – who went public with their romance in November 2020 – split just two months later in November 2021, with Kaia moving on with hunky actor Austin Butler, 30, weeks later.

She and Austin have since confirmed their romance, and ramped up the PDA on the red carpet this year while Jacob posed alone.

Jacob and Kaia are believed to have ended their romance amicably, with The Kissing Booth actor telling Men’s Health in December 2021: ‘She handles herself wonderfully publicly.

‘I’ve learned so much from her about how to handle it, how to deal with it and just kind of be whatever about it, you know?’

Meanwhile, Austin famously dated High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens, 33, for almost nine years before the pair called it quits in late 2019.

Vanessa was also in attendance at the 2022 Met Gala, posing alone in a jaw-dropping lace ensemble which showed off her figure to perfection.

Despite some potentially awkward run-ins, Jacob, Kaia, Austin and Vanessa were all dripping with confidence as they posed up a storm on the red carpet.

Kaia, who is the daughter of Cindy Crawford, worked the iconic staircase of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art like it was a runway as she posed up a storm in her elaborate gown.

The best celebrity looks from Met Gala 2022

The Met Gala is back — and from the guest list to the red carpet, this year’s ball was bigger than ever before.

After several pandemic-related delays, “fashion prom” returned to its traditional spot on the first Monday in May for 2022, with “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” as the evening’s theme, “gilded glamour” as its dress code and a coterie of A-listers on hand to co-host, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Regina King.

And predictably, the carpet was pretty spectacular. Below, see our best-dressed picks from the evening, including Lively’s Lady Liberty-inspired Atelier Versace look, Kim Kardashian’s ode to Marilyn Monroe, Alicia Keys’ Empire State-minded Ralph Lauren gown and more.

This gala co-chair absolutely understood the assignment. An homage to New York City landmarks, her Atelier Versace look included an Art Deco bodice inspired by the Empire State Building and a tiara and skirt that nodded to the Statue of Liberty — the latter quite literally, by transforming from copper to green in the middle of the red carpet. The train was even embroidered with the same constellations painted on the ceiling of Grand Central Station.

Nodding to the night’s “In America” theme in a very different way, the reality star paid homage to Marilyn Monroe in the exact dress the blond bombshell star wore to sing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy in 1962. As the multimillion-dollar museum piece couldn’t be tailored, Kardashian lost 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into the historic garment — and even dyed her hair platinum to fully embody the “Some Like It Hot” star. Now that’s commitment.

With its corseted bodice, long lace sleeves and padded bustle, the Grammy winner’s pastel-hued Gucci gown was a fitting choice for the Gilded Age-themed fête, and made Eilish look like she’d just stepped out of a John Singer Sargent painting.

Met Gala’s ‘Gilded’ theme slammed as ‘tone-deaf’ amid economic struggles

Let them eat cake.

As Americans pinch pennies to pay for the soaring costs of groceries and gas, Met Gala organizers are being slammed for celebrating over-the-top opulence.

This year’s gala — to be held tonight at the Metropolitan Museum of Art — features the dress code “Gilded Glamor and White Tie,” paying homage to America’s era of economic ascent.

The Gilded Age — occurring between the years of 1870 and 1900 — marked a period of rapid economic expansion across the country, during which a small group of American families, including the the Roosevelts, the Vanderbilts and the Rockefellers, acquired outsized wealth.

But as the cashed-up elites flaunted their fortunes — with lavish homes, glamorous gowns and priceless Renaissance artworks — millions of citizens lived in abject poverty, trying to make ends meet.

Now, some critics have taken to Twitter, pointing out the problematic parallels between the Gilded Age and our current context — marked not only by growing inequality, but the highest inflation levels in more than 40 years. At the same time, the US economy shrank by 1.4% in the most recent quarter, contracting for the first time since the pandemic-induced recession two years ago.

The Met Gala, led by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (right), has been slammed for this year’s “Gilded Age” theme, which is set to celebrate extreme wealth as average Americans struggle amid the soaring cost of living.

“Am I the only one who thinks this years #MetGala theme is out of touch?” one raged. “Inequality is at the highest levels since the Gilded Age, a pandemic & economic meltdown wrecked us, inflation is out of control… but cool, let’s wear #GildedAge themed dresses & laugh about inequality.”

They added: “To be clear, I’m normally a big fan. But this year’s theme is a slap in the face to average Americans.”

Opulent: During the Gilded Age, wealthy socialites opted to flaunt their fortunes by wearing lavish gowns, such as the ones pictured. The garments will be on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Meanwhile, another blasted: “I’m still not over how ill-advised & tone deaf it is for the Met Gala to have chosen the gilded age of all things for their theme. yes, there will be awesome fashion. no, that doesn’t balance out the queasy.”

A third chimed in saying that the theme of the glitzy gala would “piss people off”.

The Met Gala is organized and presided over by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, although she wasn’t singled out in any of the tweets.

Vogue’s official Met Gala livestream will kick off at 6 p.m. ET and be broadcast across the magazine’s digital platforms, as well as on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Vanessa Hudgens, La La Anthony and Vogue editor at large Hamish Bowles will share hosting duties.

Celebrities aren’t ashamed of going all out for the annual bash, donning eye-catching frocks and dripping in millions of dollars of diamonds.

While the full guests list for tonight’s event has been kept top secret, but Page Six sources say Cardi B is set to attend wearing an expensive Versace gown. Others reported to be on the guest list include Katy Perry, Sydney Sweeney, Gigi Hadid and all five Kardashian sisters.

Insiders say Met Gala fashions no longer chic: ‘very Halloween’

In 1883, Alice Claypoole Vanderbilt attended her sister-in-law’s famed masquerade party in a dazzling gold-and-silver gown, custom from Paris, dubbed Electric Light, complete with hidden batteries that illuminated a torch she held above her head.

Today’s A-listers hope to generate their own electricity at Monday night’s Met Gala, the dress code for which is “gilded glamour.” Yet instead of cutting-edge frocks like Mrs. Vanderbilt’s, some insiders fear that attendees will embrace the tackiest aspects of late-19th-century Manhattan society. Will dresses resemble the costumes on the popular HBO series “The Gilded Age,” in which Carrie Coon’s social-climbing Bertha swans around her Fifth Avenue mansion in couture?

While flamboyance has helped make Anna Wintour’s annual Met Gala the most anticipated red carpet of the year — “It’s a bigger deal than the Oscars,” said Christina Pacelli, who has dressed celebs such as Laverne Cox for the big evening — some observers say the get-ups have gotten too garish.

“It’s turned into a costume party,” designer and frequent gala chair Tom Ford told journalist Amy Odell in her book “Anna: The Biography,” out Tuesday.

“[It] used to just be very chic people wearing very beautiful clothes going to an exhibition about the 18th century,” Ford continued. “You didn’t have to look like the 18th century, you didn’t have to dress like a hamburger, you didn’t have to arrive in a van where you were standing up because you couldn’t sit down because you wore a chandelier.”

Ford may have a slightly idealized view of the galas of yore — at least one person showed up to 1981’s ball, themed for the exhibit “The Eighteenth-Century Woman,” dressed in knee breeches! But the clothes and themes have gotten kookier in the days since Princess Diana attended in a sleek Dior slip dress.

Recent years have seen Rihanna don a pope hat for 2018’s “Heavenly Bodies,” Jared Leto carrying a replica of his own head for 2019’s “Camp” and Lil Nas X model a sexy C-3PO costume for last year’s “American Independence,” which he shed to reveal a sparkly Versace catsuit underneath.

And lest you think Ford was exaggerating, Katy Perry did wear a chandelier and a hamburger costume — on the same night.

‘It’s very Halloween’

“Some of the things that Kim Kardashian has worn — I mean, it’s very Halloween,” said John Tiffany, a fashion historian and brand consultant who once assisted Eleanor Lambert, the legendary fashion publicist who dreamed up the Met’s first Costume Institute benefit, then called the Party of the Year, in 1948. Back then, Tiffany said, the party was a fund-raiser dinner, but in the 1970s, when freshly fired Vogue editor Diana Vreeland started manning the Costume Institute, the gala became linked with whatever fashion exhibit was opening at the museum, “which were always completely over the top.”

“It’s always been a creative party,” said Dennita Sewell, a fashion professor at Arizona State University who worked at the Costume Institute in the 1990s — when lower-rung staffers could actually attend the party. “People always dressed up, but it wasn’t so extreme … No one would have done something that wasn’t graceful and elegant.”

“The themes were noted,” she added, “but it wasn’t like the whole party was competing with the exhibition.”

Sometimes it can feel that way.

“It’s gone from an industry event celebrating the history of fashion to one celebrating celebrity,” stylist Tracy Taylor told The Post. “Designers were really the focus of the galas in the 20th century and early 21st century: Alexander McQueen, Halston — Halston would have never designed something that you couldn’t sit in! But lately, the focus is on themes, and I do feel like it’s encouraging more extreme interpretations and outfits.”

Last year, Lil Nas X sported a sexy C3PO costume, for “American Independence,” which he shed to reveal a sparkly Versace catsuit underneath.

The invite list has changed to include more celebrities — particularly, in recent years, musicians, who are used to wearing costumes onstage and often treat fashion as performance.

“When you’re a musician like Rihanna, it’s not such a huge stretch to look outlandish,” Taylor said. “They’re expected to be a bit more flamboyant or really be creative and show who they are through how they dress.” And that translates to the red carpet.

Gilded controversy

“Gilded glamour” is a dress code that allows for lots of different interpretations — from a corset gown with a huge bustle and swaths of sumptuous taffeta to a slinky gold lamé slip to a sequin frock — and plenty of ways to up the ante.

The Gilded Age was one of “enormous growth and wealth due to industrialization and real estate, and the dresses reflected that opulence,” Taylor said. “It was about these new celebrities and peacocking, and that’s what the Met Gala is about.”

Yet it could read as tone deaf. The era, which spanned from 1870 to 1900, was also characterized by extreme poverty — with exploited immigrant families living in crowded, unsanitary tenements on the Lower East Side while Fifth Avenue’s titans dined on oysters and lobster in their Parisian couture (modeled, perversely, on 17th-century French court fashion).

“The world is in a state of flux,” said Bronwyn Cosgrave, host of the podcast “Fashion Conversations,” citing the war in Ukraine and the uptick in violence in the US. “In New York City, where the Met Gala takes place, there’s huge problems with homelessness, problems with mental health … I’m not sure gilded glamour is what we need.”

Others argue that it’s exactly what’s needed right now.

“When times are tough, people turn to fantasy,” Phyllis Magidson, a fashion curator who worked with the Museum of the City of New York, told The Post.

“Everybody’s battered, and what better way to escape than through period fashion?”

Some attendees, too, are embracing the gala’s gloriously gaudy theme.

“I think that dressing on theme is part of the fun of it, personally,” Katy Perry’s stylist, Tatiana Waterford, told The Post. “Katy always dresses on theme. But she’s always had a distinctive sense of style that lends itself to an over-the-top Met Gala look.”

That said, even Perry plans to tone things down this year. “She won’t look kooky, but it’s Katy, so there will be no shortage of drama,” Waterford said. “I wish I could reveal more but you’ll just have to wait and see!”

Billie Eilish recalls ‘nuts’ experience at the Met Gala and calls famous people ‘nobodies’

‘Famous people are nobodies!’ Billie Eilish recalls ‘nuts’ experience at the Met Gala as she compares prestigious fashion event to high school

Billie Eilish has reflected on her ‘nuts’ experience at the Met Gala, admitting it made her reevaluate her thoughts on celebrity culture.

The singer, 19, was one of this year’s co-chairs for the annual fundraising gala, which is considered to be the most prestigious fashion event of the year, with invite only tickets $35,000 apiece.

Yet speaking out about her time at the event, Billie compared the gala to high school and said being surrounded by A-list stars only made her realise how normal everyone is.

‘Famous people are nobodies!’ Billie Eilish recalled her ‘nuts’ experience at the Met Gala in September as she compared the prestigious fashion event to high school

Speaking on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Billie explained: ‘It’s famous people famous people-ing. That’s what it is.

‘You know what, the main thing that night made me think or feel was how famous people are just literally nobodies. Just randos, and it’s so weird.

‘I was like, “Wow, all these people are just somebody that’s in class with you,” and you think this person’s kinda annoying, you really like this person, you get along with this person, and everybody’s just, like, embarrassed and insecure about what they’re doing and saying.’

Interesting take: Speaking on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Billie explained, ‘It’s famous people famous people-ing. That’s what it is’

Despite her underwhelming views on the guests, Billie insisted that she enjoyed her time at the event, calling it ‘amazing’, while noting, ‘It was just beautiful in there’.

This year’s event, themed America: A Lexicon of Fashion, saw Billie become the youngest ever co-chair as she joined fellow trendsetters Timothée Chalamet, Naomi Osaka and Amanda Gorman.

After being pushed back from its typical May spot to September owing to the pandemic, the gala was a more intimate affair, to be followed by a larger one on May 2, 2022.

After Billie attended her first Met Gala she made another first, debuting as host of Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

Elsewhere in her chat with Stern she confessed: ‘Preparing for SNL was f**king nuts, dude. It was literally alien. I cried every single day of the week. No joke at all,’ she said as she explained how she loves acting but ‘that’s not my world.’

Recalling going through a table read beforehand, she added: ‘I went to the Green Room, cried, and came back.

‘I was just scared. It’s like, it’s SNL… These amazingly talented actors are surrounding a table where, somehow, I’m the main course.’

Fauci says there is “no evidence” to support Nicki Minaj’s suggestion that the COVID vaccine causes impotency

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, has debunked a viral tweet from rapper Nicki Minaj that suggested the COVID-19 vaccine could cause reproductive issues. Minaj, who has over 22 million Twitter followers, sparked controversy Monday for a series of tweets she posted about the COVID-19 vaccine ahead of the Met Gala.

“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met,” the 38-year-old wrote. “if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one”

She later clarified that she was skipping the gala because of her young child — who was born last September — not because of the vaccine requirement. But Minaj posted another tweet about her cousin’s friend in Trinidad who allegedly experienced impotency after getting the jab, and it prompted a wide response from both fans and health officials.

In an interview with CNN on Tuesday, Fauci was asked if the COVID vaccine could cause any reproductive issues in men or women. Fauci replied, “The answer to that is a resounding no.”

“There’s no evidence that it happens, nor is there any mechanistic reason to imagine that it would happen,” he said.

Fauci appeared on the show to discuss vaccine efforts and was speaking on vaccine skepticism in Black and Hispanic communities, something he continues to blame on misinformation.

“There’s a lot of misinformation, mostly on social media, and the only way we know to counter mis- and disinformation is to provide a lot of correct information,” Fauci said. “To essentially debunk these kinds of claims, which may be innocent on her part. I’m not blaming her for anything, but she should be thinking twice about propagating information that really has no basis.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also debunked the myth in a memo posted to its website in August. “There is currently no evidence that any vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines, cause fertility problems in women or men,” the guidance said.

In her Twitter thread, Minaj continued to assert that she was not opposed to the vaccine and would most likely be vaccinated when she had completed more research and was ready to go on tour.

“I know babe. A lot of countries won’t let ppl work w/o the vaccine,” she tweeted in response to a fan who claimed they got a vaccine for work. “I’d def recommend they get the vaccine. They have to feed their families. I’m sure I’ll b vaccinated as well cuz I have to go on tour, etc.”

Minaj also praised a fan who received the vaccine and did not experience any side effects: “That’s amazing babe. This is the norm.”

Over 75.8% of adults in the United States have been at least partially vaccinated against COVID-19, and a total of 179.3 million people are fully vaccinated, according to the CDC. But data shows African American and Hispanic communities are still less vaccinated, and therefore more likely to die from COVID-19, than their White counterparts, according to the CDC.

Fauci and other medical leaders are asking “trusted messengers,” including clergy, teachers, and politicians, to answer questions people in their communities have about the vaccine and hopefully encourage them to get vaccinated.

“I believe we are making progress,” Fauci said. “We’re not where we want to be with regards to the number of African Americans and Hispanics vaccinated, but we’re doing better than we were before.”

On Wednesday afternoon, Minaj said she’d accepted an invitation to go to the White House.

“The White House has invited me & I think it’s a step in the right direction,” she tweeted. “Yes, I’m going. I’ll be dressed in all pink like Legally Blonde so they know I mean business. I’ll ask questions on behalf of the ppl who have been made fun of for simply being human. #BallGate day 3.”

In a statement to CBS News, a White House official said: “As we have with others, we offered a call with Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer questions she has about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.”

Following Wednesday’s slew of tweets, Minaj posted on her Instagram stories that Twitter restricted her ability to tweet.

“I’m in Twitter jail y’all,” Minaj wrote. “They didn’t like what I was saying over there on that block.”

A Twitter spokesperson told CBS News in a statement that Twitter “did not take any enforcement action” on Minaj’s account. The company has suspended several major figures in the past for spreading COVID-19 misinformation.

As of Wednesday night, Minaj’s account was still active.

Kim Kardashian and co. spawned the best 2021 Met Gala Twitter memes

The Met Gala sent the Twitter meme machine into overdrive.

What would a Met Gala be without a tsunami of internet comics poking fun at the event’s most outlandish outfits and moments? This year’s fund-raising bash at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art sent the social media meme factory into overdrive with Twitter wits lampooning everything from Kim Kardashian’s “Harry Potter” villain getup to Lil Nas X’s inadvertent “Star Wars” cosplay.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian’s all-black, face-obscuring Balenciaga outfit might’ve been influenced by her estranged husband Kanye West. However, Twitter meme mavens thought the 40-year-old billionaire’s shadowy attire more closely resembled a “Dementor” from the “Harry Potter” books or the eponymous space parasites from Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi classic “Alien.”

“is kim k really going to the met gala as a dementor,” inquired one commenter on Twitter, along with a composite of Kim K and and an illustration of the soul-sucking fantasy demon.

Another tweet with over 100k likes shows a pic of someone in a black dress and alien mask with the caption “Kim Kardashian arriving #MetGala.”

And the comparisons didn’t stop there. “Very niche of Kim Kardashian to go as my sleep paralysis demon,” quipped one Twitter comic, while others analogized Kardashian’s ominous outfit to a walking manifestation of their “anxiety.”

Lil Nas X and A$AP Rocky

@KimE030/Twitter

Of course, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star wasn’t the only celeb to be clothing-shamed on Twitter. The online piranhas had a field day with rapper Lil Nas X’s gilded “under-armor” endosuit — the second of his Met Gala costume’s three phases — which many likened to C-3P0 from the “Star Wars” franchise. Then again, the “Old Town Road” singer’s ostentatious couture is perhaps unsurprising considering that he gave his latest shoe line a blood transfusion.

Manhattan rapper A$AP Rocky, meanwhile, was accused of compiling his bombastic outfit from a bowl of Captain Crunch cereal in this uproarious meme.

Pete Davidson and Timothée Chalamet

Elsewhere, “SNL” alum Pete Davidson — who arrived in Thom Browne — was analogized to a mad cartoon scientist while “Dune” star Timothée Chalamet’s Haider Ackermann tuxedo jacket and sweatpants made him a dead ringer for a chef, according to Twitter.

Elliot Page, James Corden, Channing Tatum, Adrien Brody and Brooklyn Beckham

Unfortunately dressing modestly didn’t keep the Twitter hounds at bay: James Corden, host of the “Late Late Show,” Channing Tatum, Elliot Page and other celebs were compared to the Met waitstaff after stepping out in understated tuxedos.

Grimes and Addison Rae

Singer Grimes’ badass “Dune”-inspired warrior costume — which featured a real sword — spawned memes galore with one fan suggesting that she should duel with the similarly attired Hunter Schafer. Elon Musk’s scary-looking weapon was reportedly comprised of a melted-down AR-15 and is part of a gun buyback project called “Guns2Swords.”

On the other side of the spectrum, Twitter users accused influencer Addison Rae of purchasing her unremarkable cocktail dress at discount clothing purveyor Shein.

“Me seeing Addison Rae #MetGala,” wrote one unimpressed Tweeter with a pic of Meryl Streep’s character from “The Devil Wears Prada” casting a withering glance.

Anna Wintour

Speaking of, another critic ripped into Anna Wintour’s flowery dress, joking that the fashion mag mogul had modeled it after a “floral couch.”

AOC

New York City Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez caused a kerfuffle online after wearing a provocative white dress emblazoned with her “Tax the Rich” motto in red. None were better than this side-splitting meme comparing the freshman politician to a bag of Chick-fil-A chicken.

“Who wore it better?” snarked conservative poster Noam Blum in the humorous tweet, which boasts over 66K likes.

Some critics found AOC’s proletarian messaging hypocritical given that she was wearing an expensive dress and attending an exclusive, $30,000-a-ticket event.

Ocasio-Cortez has since responded to haters on Twitter, writing: “The medium is the message.”

Rihanna

While the clothing digs were indeed hilarious, many of the best Met Gala memes involved impatient fans venting about waiting for perennial favorite Rihanna to finally arrive at the party.

The “Umbrella” rapper eventually stepped out on the red carpet in a billowing Balenciaga dress, before changing into a minimalist black T-shirt with a sheer maxi skirt for the after-party.

Some nostalgic internet denizens even reheated memes from Met Galas past, including an iconic fake pic of R&B artist Jason Derulo supposedly falling down the stairs at the fashion bash in 2015. It was later revealed that the photo depicted some other guy at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011, and that Derulo had never been to the Met Gala.
