Dean McDermott, ex Mary Jo Eustace reunite as Tori hangs with kids

Dean McDermott and his ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, posted new photos together as Tori Spelling hung with their five kids.

“Reunited???” McDermott captioned the Instagram post Tuesday. “#Ex’s&Uh-oh’s.”

The “Chopped Canada” host, 55, stood with his arms crossed in the social media upload, with one of the chef’s hands on his shoulder.

The former couple, who were married from 1993 to 2006, matched in all-black outfits.

Eustace, 60, posted a similar snap from the same shoot, writing, “Reunited?❤️@imdeanmcdermott @torispelling #Ex’s&Uh-Ohs!”

That same day, Spelling celebrated her and McDermott’s 11-year-old daughter Hattie’s “adorably spooky” birthday party via Instagram.

The former couple were married until 2006 and share son Jack.

“This is 11,” the “BH90210” alum, 55, captioned a video of the Halloween-themed bash.

The actress and McDermott are also the parents of Liam, 15, Stella, 14, Finn, 11, and Beau, 5, and Spelling went with them to a pumpkin patch on Sunday.

They reunited earlier this year for Jack’s graduation.

The duo got married in 2006, briefly splitting seven years later amid a cheating scandal but ultimately reuniting.

The “Tori & Dean” alums sparked breakup rumors again in March 2021 when Spelling told Jeff Lewis that they were sleeping in separate rooms.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum and McDermott were subsequently spotted without their wedding rings on multiple occasions — but the actor made headlines for honoring his wife with an Instagram tribute for International Women’s Day.

The couple publicly reunited for the first time in September, picking up pizza in Calabasas, Calif.

After the reunion, Spelling’s “Messyness” co-host Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi told Page Six that Spelling is “genuinely happy” and “trying to have the best life.”

“That’s all we want for her,” the “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” star, 34, gushed last month. “We just want Tori to be happy and Tori to be Tori.”

As for McDermott and Eustace, the exes previously reunited in May when their 24-year-old son, Jack, graduated from San Francisco State University.

“So grateful to take part in this celebration and journey with @jackmonty and @maryjoeustace,” McDermott wrote via Instagram at the time. “So proud of this young man!!”

Sean McDermott: We didn’t execute in final 13 seconds of regulation

Getty Images

The Bills took a 36-33 lead over the Chiefs with 13 seconds left in Sunday’s divisional round playoff game in Kansas City, but that proved to be enough time for the Chiefs to tie the game.

After a touchback on the ensuing kickoff, quarterback Patrick Mahomes hit back-to-back passes to wide receiver Tyreek Hill and tight end Travis Kelce to pick up 44 yards and set up Harrison Butker‘s kick. The Chiefs would win on a touchdown pass to Kelce in overtime.

People outside the organization have suggested the Bills should have forced the Chiefs to burn some time while fielding the kickoff and taken issue with the defensive calls that the Bills had on the two completions at the end of regulation. Bills head coach Sean McDermott said it was disappointing because “we pride ourselves on being detailed” in situations like that, but refused to discuss any of the details he wanted to see handled differently.

“I’m still going to get into specifics on that. It comes down to execution. We didn’t execute,” McDermott said.

Execution suggests issues with on-field performance rather than the calls that were coming from the sideline, but the avoidance of specificity leaves some questions unanswered.McDermott wouldn’t budge from that view when asked about miscommunication possibly being a factor during that stretch.

He did say that the Bills will not “run from it” and will learn from how things played out against the Chiefs. With the next season starting in September, it will be quite some time before anyone will see the results of that effort.

Tre’Davious White injury: McDermott updates All-Pro CB’s status

Tre’Davious White, a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback for the Bills, went down with a non-contact injury during Friday’s win over the Saints. He was covering receiver Marquez Callaway before coming up lame. According to a Friday afternoon report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he suffered a season-ending torn ACL.

After the injury, White was ruled doubtful to return to the game and he was later downgraded to out. The cameras caught him looking quite distraught as he left the game.

“We saw Tre White go down yesterday with a non-contact knee injury, laying on the ground. It was certainly a dire situation,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on Friday morning, before the diagnosis was reported. “Listening to Sean McDermott after the game, he said, ‘We pray he’s back.’ That is not someone who sounds like he has a lot of confidence in his player potentially coming back, but obviously we will see.”

Now, the Buffalo Bills will be without him for the stretch run this season, as they look to make a run at the Super Bowl.

White, a 2017 first-round NFL draft pick out of LSU, was a first-team All-Pro in 2019, and a second-team selection in 2020. He made the Pro Bowl each of those seasons, and shared the NFL lead with six interceptions in 2019.

He has played in all but three of the Bills’ games during his NFL career, including all 11 games so far this season.

The Bills moved to 7–4 on the season with Thursday night’s 31–6 win over the Saints.

Creighton suspends coach Greg McDermott over ‘plantation’ remarks

Creighton University men’s basketball coach Greg McDermott was suspended Thursday after he urged his players to “stay on the plantation” during a locker-room speech following a loss Saturday.

His suspension by the Nebraska-based Big East school was announced just two days after officials said any disciplinary action against McDermott would remain confidential.

“After our Creighton men’s basketball team returned to Omaha earlier today, Fr. Hendrickson and I engaged with other senior leaders in dialogue and discussion regarding appropriate sanctions for the remarks made by Head Men’s Basketball Coach Greg McDermott that were not in alignment with Creighton’s commitment to racial equity, diversity and respect,” Creighton athletic director Bruce Rasmussen said in a statement. “Coach McDermott and the team have accepted that, effective immediately, he is suspended from all team activities, including Saturday’s home season finale against Butler.”

McDermott, 56, who was in his 11th season with the Creighton Bluejays, indicated on Twitter on Thursday night that he’s accepted the decision.

“I made a mistake and I own it. Mistakes come with consequences, and I accept and agree with the suspension,” the coach wrote.

McDermott, who is White, acknowledged saying to his players after a 77-69 loss to Xavier on Saturday: “Guys, we got to stick together. We need both feet in. I need everybody to stay on the plantation. I can’t have anybody leave the plantation.”

Creighton has a racially diverse roster that includes several Black players.

On Tuesday, McDermott apologized on Twitter, writing that he used a “terribly inappropriate analogy in making a point about staying together as a team despite the loss.”

“I have never used that analogy and it is not indicative of who I am as a person or as a coach,” McDermott said in his post. “I am deeply sorry. I have apologized to our student-athletes and to our staff.”

CREIGHTON COACH MCDERMOTT APOLOGIZES FOR ‘PLANTATION’ REMARK

McDermott coached Creighton from the sidelines during the team’s 72-60 loss against Villanova on Wednesday, the Omaha World-Herald reported. It was the team’s first game since his controversial remarks.

Assistant coach Alan Huss has since been named the interim head coach, according to Rasmussen’s statement on Thursday. The school added that McDermott may face further disciplinary action.

“Coach McDermott and our athletics program must use this incident as an opportunity for growth and learning, as clearly more work needs to be done,” the statement added.

The Bluejays are set to begin postseason play next week at the Big East tournament.

Creighton suspends coach Greg McDermott after referring to program as ‘the plantation’ in speech to players

Creighton athletic director Bruce Rasmussen announced Thursday night that Bluejays basketball coach Greg McDermott has been suspended at least through Sunday’s regular season finale against Butler as the fallout from McDermott’s use of racially insensitive language continues.

“After our Creighton men’s basketball team returned to Omaha earlier today, [Father] Hendrickson and I engaged with other senior leaders in dialogue and discussion regarding appropriate sanctions for the remarks made by head men’s basketball coach Greg McDermott that were not in alignment with Creighton’s commitment to racial equity, diversity and respect,” Rasmussen said in a statement. “Coach McDermott and the team have accepted that, effective immediately, he is suspended from all team activities, including Saturday’s home season finale against Butler. Further sanctions remain under consideration, not all of which will be shared publicly. Assistant coach Al Huss will serve as interim head coach.

“Coach McDermott and our athletics program must use this incident as an opportunity for growth and learning, as clearly more work needs to be done.”

Later, McDermott said he had “made a mistake” with his choice of words and would accept the suspension.

McDermott said earlier this week that he would have resigned if his players wanted after he admitted to “an egregious mistake” made in the locker room after a loss last weekend.

“If they would have chosen to have me walk away, I would have walked away,” McDermott said in an interview with 1620 The Zone, according to the Omaha World-Herald. “But that is not what they wanted.”

McDermott initially apologized Tuesday evening for comments made Saturday following a 77-69 road loss to Xavier. In the apology, posted to Twitter, McDermott included the analogy in full, which reads as follows:

“Guys, we got to stick together. We need both feet in. I need everybody to stay on the plantation. I can’t have anybody leave the plantation.”

“I have never used that analogy and it is not indicative of who I am as a person or as a coach,” McDermott said. “I am deeply sorry. I have apologized to our student-athletes and to our staff, as well as to President Hendrickson and Director of Athletics Bruce Rasmussen.”

Creighton issued a separate statement Tuesday evening on the subject, condemning the language as “deplorable.” It added that any disciplinary action taken against McDermott will remain confidential.

“While an apology is a start, and while we believe this was out of character for Coach McDermott, in no way does it diminish the fact that his remark was hurtful to many and has absolutely no place in the Creighton community,” Creighton’s statement said. “We have offered our full and unconditional support to those affected by his words.”

Creighton assistant coach Terrence Rencher, who is also a member of Coaches For Action, also issued a statement on the subject. Rencher has served on McDermott’s staff since 2019.

McDermott has been Creighton’s coach since 2010. He has taken the team to five NCAA Tournaments and is on pace to make it a sixth this season, with the Bluejays (17-7) a projected No. 6 seed in Jerry Palm’s latest bracket.
