Post Malone hospitalized with ‘stabbing pain,’ cancels concert

A week after falling through an onstage hole while performing, Post Malone canceled a Saturday night concert in Boston, saying he was at a hospital struggling with his breathing and a “stabbing pain.”

It was the second hospital visit in about a week for the 27-year-old rapper, whose full name is Austin Richard Post. After the accident at St. Louis’s Enterprise Center on Sept. 17, he was treated for bruised ribs, according to an Instagram post from his manager. Malone said on Twitter afterward that “everything’s good.”

But he awoke Saturday to “cracking sounds” on the right side of his body, he said.

“I’m having a very difficult time breathing and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move,” Malone wrote in social media posts about 30 minutes before the concert was to start. “We’re in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can’t do the show tonight.”

Tickets will be valid for a rescheduled concert that is in the works, he said, apologizing for being unable to perform Saturday. The venue, TD Garden, had announced minutes earlier that the concert was canceled “due to unforeseen circumstances” and fans should keep their tickets for a new date.

Malone has been on the road since Sept. 10 for his 33-city Twelve Carat Tour, promoting his fourth album, “Twelve Carat Toothache.” He was one week and five stops in when he had the onstage accident in St. Louis.

Video footage of the incident showed the artist reaching to grab fans’ hands while performing “Circles.” He turned and walked to the center of the stage, then stepped into an open area and fell, appearing to catch himself with his upper body. He rolled out of the opening and lay on his back. The music stopped.

Medics helped Malone offstage, but he later returned and continued the show.

In a video shared on Twitter the next day, the rapper said the opening in the stage is meant to allow instruments to be lowered. He said falling through it “winded me pretty good, got me pretty good,” adding that he had been given painkillers at the hospital.

Malone thanked fans for their support and vowed to continue the tour.

In his Saturday post announcing the cancellation of the Boston show, he said he felt “terrible, but I promise I’m going to make this up to you.”

“I love you Boston, I’ll see you soon,” he concluded.

Post Malone cancels Boston concert after returning to the hospital

CNN
 —

It’s been a rough few weeks for Post Malone.

The American singer-songwriter is back in the hospital a week after he fell on stage in St. Louis, according to a statement posted to his Instagram story on Saturday night. He was forced to cancel a planned show in Boston after experiencing breathing problems and stabbing pain, he wrote.

“Today I woke up to cracking sounds on the right side of my body,” he wrote in the statement. “I felt so good last night, but today it felt so different that it has before.”

“I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move,” he went on.

Post Malone said he was back in the hospital and was unable to perform in Boston due to his ongoing pain.

Last Saturday, the musician fell through an opening on the stage while performing at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. He was in visible pain but finished the concert after a brief break; afterwards, he was diagnosed with bruised ribs at the hospital.

Dre London, Post Malone’s manager, commended the musician for finishing the show “in true Posty fashion.”

The fall came in the middle of Post Malone’s “Twelve Carat” Tour, in support of his album “Twelve Carat Toothache.” The national tour started in Omaha, Nebraska and will end in November in Los Angeles, according to his website.

On Instagram, Post Malone apologized for canceling the Boston show, scheduled to take place at the TD Garden Arena and pledged to reschedule the performance.

“I love y’all so much,” he wrote. “I feel terrible, but I promise I’m going to make this up to you.”

“I love you Boston, I’ll see you soon. I’m so sorry.”

Post Malone cancels Boston show just a week after nasty stage fall

The show isn’t going on for Post Malone, who canceled his planned Boston concert an hour before it was supposed to begin and was hospitalized just a week after taking a nasty spill on stage.

“I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move,” the “Better Now” singer wrote in a note posted to Twitter Saturday evening. “We’re in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can’t do the show tonight. I’m so f–king sorry.”

Malone, 27, took a nasty fall during a show in St. Louis last week, walking down a ramp and stepping into a hole that wasn’t properly covered. His face and entire body slammed to the ground, where video shows he was lying and writing in pain.

He continued the show but by Saturday something clearly wasn’t right.

“On tour I usually wake up at 4 o’clock PM, and today I woke to a cracking sounds [sic] on the right side of my body. I felt so good last night, but today it felt so different than it has before,” he wrote.

The artist canceled the show not long before he was meant to go on, citing breathing difficulty.

Post Malone Hospitalized, Postpones Boston Show – Rolling Stone

“I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move,” musician says

Post Malone has postponed his show at TD Garden in Boston tonight, Sept. 24, following being hospitalized. He announced the news in an Instagram story. “I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move,” he wrote. He added that tickets for Saturday’s show would be valid for when the concert is rescheduled.

“Boston, I love y’all so fucking much. On tour, I usually wake up around 4 o’clock PM, and today I woke up to a cracking sounds on the right side of my body,” he wrote. “I felt so good last night, but today it felt so different than it has before. I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move.”

A rep for Post Malone did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

“We’re in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can’t do the show tonight. I’m so fucking sorry,” he continued. “Everyone’s tickets for tonight’s show will be valid for the reschedule that we’re planning right now. Once again, I’m so fucking sorry. I love y’all so much. I feel terrible, but I promise I’m going to make this up to you. I love you Boston, I’ll see you soon.”

Last week, Post Malone injured his ribs after he accidentally fell through an open trap door while performing in St. Louis last Saturday. It’s unclear if the injury is related to his recent hospitalization. Malone is in the midst of a North American tour in support of his fourth studio album, Twelve Carat Toothache.
