Donald Trump Blasts Republican Rivals as MAGA Dissent Breaks Out
Donald Trump has openly but subtly criticized the loyalty of two potential Republican rivals for the GOP 2024 presidential candidacy.
Speaking to reporters on his plane Saturday as the former president kicked off his latest White House campaign, Trump hit out at one-time close ally, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, over his COVID-19 response, while also discussing the presidential ambitions of Trump’s former ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.
While flying to South Carolina to headline the first major rally of his 2024 campaign, Trump accused DeSantis of trying to “re-write history” with regards to how Florida responded early on to the outbreak of the coronavirus and that the governor has “changed his tune a lot” about his stance on the COVID vaccine.
“Florida was actually closed, for a great, long period of time,” Trump said in footage aired by CNN. “Remember, he [DeSantis] closed the beaches and everything else? They’re trying to re-write history.”

The former president also reverted back to an oft-repeated refrain in claiming that DeSantis would not have won the 2018 gubernatorial elections were it not for Trump’s endorsement, and accused the Florida governor of being “very disloyal” amid reports he is plotting to run in the 2024 GOP primary.
“Ron would have not been governor if it wasn’t for me,” Trump said. “So when I hear he might run, I consider that very disloyal.”
Trump also spoke about Haley, a former South Carolina governor who was not present at the rally on Saturday, amid suggestions she will also announce plans to run for president in 2024.
While approving Haley’s desire to run, Trump also noted how his ex-administration member previously stated that she would never seek the Republican party’s nomination if Trump was also on the ballot.
“I talked to her for a little while, I said, ‘Look, you know, go by your heart if you want to run,'” Trump said. “She’s publicly said that ‘I would never run against my president, he was a great president.'”
Trump said he told Haley that she “should do it.”
The relationship between Trump and DeSantis has long soured amid reports the Florida governor is planning to run for president in 2024.
In recent weeks, Haley has also suggested that she is a better candidate to lead the GOP in the future over Trump.
In a Fox News interview in mid-January, Haley suggested that there needs to be a “generational change” in the party, when asked about her previous comments about not running against Trump in 2024.
“When you’re looking at the future of America, I think it’s time for new generational change. I don’t think you need to be 80 years old to go be a leader in D.C.,” Haley said. “I think we need a young generation to come in, step up, and really start fixing things.”
Haley reshared the comments on Twitter on Saturday as Trump was due to arrive in South Carolina to speak at his 2024 campaign rally.
It is arguable that Trump approved Haley running for the White House as he does not consider her as big a threat as DeSantis.
While Trump is still the overwhelming favorite to clinch the GOP 2024 nomination, DeSantis is by far the second-placed candidate, and beats the former president in the occasional polls.
In comparison, Haley regularly does not even break the top three in terms of who GOP voters would choose in a hypothetical 2024 primary.
A recent NH Journal poll released ahead of Trump arriving in New Hampshire to speak at the Republican Party’s annual state meeting revealed the former president came out on top when Republicans were asked who they would vote for in a GOP primary (37 percent), with DeSantis second on 26 percent.
The poll placed Haley in fourth, receiving the support of just four percent of GOP voters in the first-in-the-nation primary state.
Haley and DeSantis have been contacted for comment.
Appeals Court Rules Washington MAGA Hat Teacher Protected under First Amendment
Eric Dodge, a science teacher at Wy’east Middle School outside of Portland, Or., won a lawsuit against the Evergreen School District for violating his First Amendment rights after he wore a MAGA hat to a staff training day featuring racial bias training.
In a legal filing published just before New Year’s Eve, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit defended Dodge’s right to wear the hat despite attempts by school administrators to admonish him. According to court documents, a professor leading the cultural sensitivity programming session complained to school principal Caroline Garret that “she felt intimidated and traumatized” at the sight of Dodge’s MAGA hat.
Other teachers also complained with one reportedly crying and another feeling threatened at the sight of the hat. The uproar causes the principal to chide Dodge to use “better judgment” in the future. However, Dodge continued to wear the hat at the following day’s session prompting the principal to call the school’s HR officer, Janae Gomes.
At the end of the staff training day, Dodge approached Garret asking for opportunities to teach classes other than science. Dodge alleges that the principal said “What is the fucking deal with your hat?” adding Dodge was a “homophobe and a racist and a bigot and hateful.” Garret denies the depiction of the conversation.
The experience led Dodge to file a lawsuit against Garret, Gomes, and the Evergreen School District. The Appeals Court only ruled in favor of Dodge’s claim against Principal Gomes.
“That some may not like the political message being conveyed is par for the course and cannot itself be a basis for finding disruption of a kind that outweighs the speaker’s First Amendment rights. Therefore, Principal Garrett’s asserted administrative interest in preventing disruption among staff did not outweigh plaintiff’s right to free speech,” the court ruling notes.
The court documents also quote Wy’east’s principal Caroline Garret, at length, explaining her decision to censor Dodge.
“Mr. Dodge’s decision to wear his MAGA hat on school grounds within weeks of the Trump Administration’s loud and publicized initiative to deport as many immigrants as possible was an affront to Wy’east’s agenda of cultural inclusivity and interest in creating a safe place for ELL students. Ms. Garrett had a reasonable basis, given the anti-immigrant tenor radiating from the administration, to demonstrate inclusivity and tolerance to ELL students and their parents on the school campus,” Garret told the court.
Dodge reportedly resigned from his teaching post in 2020, according to Fox.

MAGA Diehard Stephen Jike Williams Arrested For FBI Execution Threat Over Trump ‘Slander’
An aspiring country singer and diehard MAGA fan set out to defend Donald Trump’s honor, but wound up in handcuffs instead.
North Carolina insurance salesman and semi-pro musician Stephen Jike Williams, who performs simply as Jike Williams, allegedly vowed to execute fact checkers for the “defamation and slander” of the ex-president. When the FBI showed up at his door, Williams threatened the life of a female agent assigned to investigate, according to a criminal complaint first obtained by The Daily Beast.
He then followed up a few days later with additional death threats on TikTok, in a video titled, simply, “Fuck the FBI,” the feds say.
Williams, 42, is now charged with threatening to murder a federal law enforcement officer and transmission of interstate threats. The complaint against him, which was unsealed Friday in North Carolina federal court, says that Williams was incensed over, variously, the 2020 “stolen” election, vaccine mandates, his TikTok account getting suspended, and liberals pushing “anti-Trump propaganda.”
Williams’ court-appointed lawyer, Corey D. Buggs, did not respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment.
Williams’ troubles began with a Sept. 18 email to the Good Information Foundation, a left-leaning nonprofit founded after the 2020 election to fight mis- and disinformation.
“You are hereby ordered by we the people under the laws of the constitution to cease and desist all defamation and slander of Maga [sic] Republicans and Donald Trump,” the message read, according to the complaint. “This is Treason an act of war and we will treat you accordingly. You have till [sic] the end of the month to print a retraction whistle blow on yourself or I will shut you down personally.”
The email went on: “Lethal action will be necessary if any physical detainment is attempted when I shut you down. Leave peacefully or your children will forget who you are.”
On Sept. 19, the Good Information Foundation’s lawyer forwarded the email, which Williams had allegedly sent from his personal account, to the FBI. Agents in the Washington Field Office sent the bureau’s investigative assessment to the bureau’s Greensboro Resident Agency Office for follow-up, the complaint states.
On Oct. 3, “a female FBI agent… and a male Task Force Officer”—that is, a local cop deputized to assist in federal investigations—“attempted to interview Williams at his residence,” it explains.
The pair were in plainclothes and showed up in an unmarked car at Williams home in the rural town of Stokesdale, according to the filing. When they pulled into the driveway, Williams bolted from his front porch and ran toward the vehicle.
“Why the fuck are you on my property?” Williams shouted, according to the complaint.
The female agent showed Williams her credentials, which “instantly made [him] very angry, and he began yelling that the Department of Justice and the FBI hired a Russian agent to steal the election,” it says.
Williams continued screaming into the window of the car, spittle hitting the agent sitting inside, the complaint continues, adding that the task force officer “advised Williams to stop spitting on” the agent.
“Williams stepped back and continued being irate and hostile,” states the complaint. “Williams called [the agent] a ‘bitch’ multiple times and stated [the task force officer] should arrest [the agent] and have her executed for treason and sedition. Williams stated to [the agent], ‘I’m going to take you out.’”
When the two warned Williams that he could be charged criminally for threatening a federal agent, he allegedly began screaming over and over, “Get the fuck off my property!”
The agent and the task force officer left without interviewing Williams about the threatening email to the Good Information Foundation, according to the complaint.
On Oct. 6, the FBI agent, whose name is redacted in the complaint for her safety, a separate filing reveals, updated a staffer at the Good Information Foundation with news of the aborted meet with Williams a few days earlier.
During the call, the agent “learned that Williams’s email… was in response to a TikTok video made by a social media influencer that was asked by the Good Information Foundation to produce anti-Trump rhetoric,” the complaint states. “In the video, the influencer exposed that the Good Information Foundation was paying influencers to post videos and requiring them to use preestablished talking points, one of which the representatives of the Good Information Foundation could not provide any factual support for.”
The staffer told the agent that the foundation in fact used “an outside company to hire social media influencers to create videos that aligned with their information and beliefs about former President Donald Trump,” the complaint goes on.
They had received “multiple emails” in response to the TikTok video, but Williams’ “was the most egregious,” according to the complaint. (The “influencer” in question appears to be a lawyer who in September claimed he had been offered $400 by The Good Information Foundation for an anti-Trump Instagram post.)
On Oct. 7, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center received a tip from a person identified in the complaint only as “J.K.”
“J.K. reported that they had observed a TikTok video in which a male subject was threatening to kill FBI agents,” the complaint says, noting that J.K. provided a link to the offending clip.
Williams had posted the video, titled, “Fuck the FBI,” in response to the bureau’s visit to his home a few days earlier, according to the feds. In it, he parroted Trumpian claims about the FBI being “corrupt,” and said “all agents are considered to be ‘enemy combatants.’”
“I’m not playing with the fucking FBI,” Williams allegedly said in the two-minute-eighteen-second video. “They’ve been put on fucking notice, if you step back foot on my fucking property, I ain’t gonna sit there and talk to you. I’m going to bust your fucking head open with fucking .308s, man. I’m going to kill every single one of you, stack you up in your cars, and drive you back to headquarters and finish the fucking job… They are absolutely out of control. Stand up to em, fight em, shoot em on sight.”
In a series of follow-up videos, Williams boasted of having “kicked [the FBI] out of the yard,” and detailed his shooting skills. He also held forth on the “new world order, and said he was upset because one of his TikTok accounts had been suspended.
“I’m ready to shoot fucking FBI agents, CIA agents, and any federal law enforcement agent working for Joe Biden or anybody like [German economist and World Economic Forum founder] Klaus Schwab… Australian police, any of them,” Williams said in the video, according to the feds. “Execute those motherfuckers on sight. If they wanna fucking de-populate, de-populate them.”
Williams went on, complaining that the government wants to “take away our weapons,” as well as people’s “ability to communicate,” and that a “purge” of the citizenry was in the offing. (None of this is true, according to Second Amendment experts.) He threatened to assassinate Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla and asked why he wasn’t allowed to display his rifles on TikTok but “they’ll show you a syringe that kills little kids in their sleep.” (None of this is true, according to medical experts.)
He ended the video by exhorting viewers to “Fucking fight, man. Fight!”
Williams was arrested Friday and detained pending a detention hearing on Nov. 23. If convicted on both counts, he faces more than a decade in prison.
Biden scolds ‘MAGA Republicans’ after 5th Circuit Court strikes down DACA, orders no new applicants
President Joe Biden lashed out at a federal appeals court on Wednesday, after it ruled the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was illegally implemented by the Obama administration.
In a statement, the president called the decision “unlawful” and urged Congress to make permanent legislative protections to help more than 600,000 immigrants currently protected by DACA.
On Wednesday, the 5th U.S. Circuit Court’s three-judge panel determined the Obama administration lacked the authority to institute the DACA program. However, the court stopped short of judicially dismantling it and said DACA migrants could continue to receive legal protections.
“I am disappointed in today’s Fifth Circuit decision holding that DACA is unlawful. The court’s stay provides a temporary reprieve for DACA recipients but one thing remains clear: the lives of Dreamers remain in limbo,” Biden said.

“Today’s decision is the result of continued efforts by Republican state officials to strip DACA recipients of the protections and work authorization that many have now held for over a decade,” the president added.
“And while we will use the tools we have to allow Dreamers to live and work in the only country they know as home,” Biden continued, “it is long past time for Congress to pass permanent protections for Dreamers, including a pathway to citizenship.”
BIDEN ADMIN MOVES TO STRENGTHEN OBAMA-ERA DACA PROGRAM AMID LEGAL CHALLENGES
The circuit court also ruled the U.S. government could not process new applicants for DACA and ordered a Texas federal judge review the program.
“A district court is in the best position to review the administrative record in the rulemaking proceeding and determine whether our holdings as to the 2012 DACA Memorandum fully resolve issues concerning the Final Rule,” the court wrote.

Biden specifically blamed “MAGA-Republican officials” for the court’s decision as several Republican-led states sued the federal government over the DACA program. Governors allege the program negatively impacts their local economies as they have to foot the bill for DACA recipients’ education and healthcare.

“My Administration is committed to defending Dreamers against attacks from Republican officials in Texas and other states,” Biden concluded. “This challenge to DACA is just another example of the extreme agenda being pushed by MAGA-Republican officials.”
The rule takes effect on Oct. 31.

MAGA Dweebs Lose Their Shit Over Lizzo Playing James Madison’s Crystal Flute
Conservative media stars and far-right provocateurs found their latest outrage cycle this week when pop superstar Lizzo thrilled concertgoers by playing a 200-year-old crystal flute once owned by former President James Madison.
Rather than appreciate an accomplished and classically trained flutist showing off a priceless piece of American history to her fans, right-wing pundits seethed that Lizzo’s performance was an act of “soft totalitarianism” meant to “degrade our history.”
Prior to showing off the delicate instrument at a Tuesday night show in Washington, D.C., Lizzo was invited by the Library of Congress to check out its collection of more than 1,700 flutes—including the Madison one, which was given to the founding father in 1813 as a gift from French flute maker Claude Laurent.
After trying out the flute, she was given permission to play it briefly during her concert this week, with the national library sending Capitol Police and staff as security to watch over the rare artifact. Sharing the history of the flute with her audience, the “Truth Hurts” singer let the crowd know she was “the first person to ever play it” and how “scared” she felt in doing so.
“It’s crystal. It’s like playing out of a wine glass, bitch, so be patient,” she said before carefully playing a note, causing the crowd to roar. Lizzo blew a few more notes, even tossing in her trademark twerk as she played.
“Bitch, I just twerked and played James Madison’s crystal flute from the 1800s. We just made history tonight!” Lizzo excitedly declared while folding the flute over her head. “History is freaking cool!”
While much of the reaction online and in the media was positive, the usual gaggle of right-wing scolds and knee-jerk reactionaries jumped all over the Black megastar’s performance to suggest that it was indicative of a further decline in society due to wokeness.
“The Library of Congress really took out a 200-year old flute that belonged to James Madison just so Lizzo could twerk with it,” groused Greg Price, a former Daily Caller editor-turned-GOP operative. “They degrade our history and then call you racist if you actually value it.”
The Columbia Bugle, a popular MAGA social-media account, raged about the musician playing Madison’s crystal flute, declaring “we’re going to let Kid Rock crowd surf on Obama’s presidential portrait” if and when Republicans retake the White House.
“A humiliation ritual. They don’t care about our history,” the Bugle wrote in another tweet. “They just want to mock and defile it.”
Conservative radio host Jesse Kelly, who has predicted the American right will soon “pick a fascist,” took the histrionics even further, contrasting the arrest of an anti-abortion activist for assault with Lizzo playing a crystal flute he very likely never knew existed before yesterday.
“If you can figure out the link between raiding the home of a peaceful man who offered to turn himself in and an anti-American singer twerking with James Madison’s flute, congratulations,” he posted. “You know what’s happening and what time it is.”
Anti-trans activist and Daily Wire pundit Matt Walsh, meanwhile, fumed that the “woke Left” believes the performance “was a form of racial retribution” and that there’s no doubt that this is part of the reason why the Library of Congress facilitated this spectacle.”
The casually bigoted podcaster further grumbled that Lizzo is a “morbidly obese weirdo in a thong” and he doesn’t “give a flying shit if it’s an honor for HER,” telling another Twitter user it’s “not the point at all” that she is an “extremely gifted musician” who took an appropriate “level of care” while handling the instrument.
Walsh’s boss, conservative media boy king Ben Shapiro, also chimed in with a pseudo-philosophical take on the so-called scandal.
“This Lizzo-flute controversy is a perfect example of what I have termed Face Tattoo Phenomenon™: the phenomenon whereby someone does something deliberately controversial in an attempt to draw attention, and then acts offended when you notice,” he tweeted.
Shapiro, who seems to be perpetually and cringe-inducingly offended by Black pop musicians and rappers, then added: “If all we had seen was the clip of Lizzo playing the flute in the halls of the Library of Congress while wearing a semi-modest outfit, everyone would have shrugged. But that’s not the clip everyone championed as groundbreaking: it was the clip where she bragged about twerking.”
Shapiro kept the outrage flowing for his podcast listeners on Thursday, whining that Lizzo was taking an instrument “that speaks to the, sort of, gentility of America’s founders” and placing it into a “context that is vulgar.” Driving home that point, he added: “It’s the vulgarization of American history.”
Somewhat surprisingly, Fox News has so far stayed away from this right-wing outrage cycle. of The conservative cable giant’s wannabe TV competitors, however, have jumped on it.
Over on One America News, the struggling pro-Trump conspiratorial channel that recently lost almost all of its cable and satellite providers, host Kara McKinney insisted that Lizzo twerking was a harbinger of the death of democracy.
“Remember last night when we talked about soft totalitarianism, which is what so-called liberal democracy actually is,” McKinney asserted on Wednesday night. “Well, keep that in mind as you watch Lizzo twerk in mockery of the Founding Fathers and their ideals.”
Newsmax host Jenn Pellegrino, a former OAN host herself, demanded to know when there would be a “separation between entertainment and wokeness” while an on-air graphic blared: “SORRY, JAMES MADISON.”
Claiming that “a lot of people are outraged,” Pellegrino also argued that “if you’re complicit in the liberal agenda” then you will be “rewarded” with an honor like playing Madison’s crystal flute. The Newsmax star then turned to her guest, Turning Point USA contributor Jon Root, who snarked that it was “stunning and brave” for an “obese celebrity who thinks she oppressed twerking.”
