Musk challenges ‘liar’ who accused him of sexual misconduct to describe private parts
Elon Musk challenged the woman who accused him of sexual misconduct to describe details of his intimate body parts that are “not known by the public” in a bid to disprove her claims.
“But I have a challenge to this liar who claims their friend saw me ‘exposed’ – describe just one thing, anything at all (scars, tattoos, …) that isn’t known by the public. She won’t be able to do so, because it never happened,” Musk tweeted Friday in response to a Twitter user asking what the accusations were.
A former flight attendant working on a contract basis in the cabin crew for SpaceX’s corporate jet fleet accused Musk of exposing his erect penis to her, rubbing her leg without consent, and offering to buy her a horse in exchange for an erotic massage, Insider reported last week.
The incident allegedly took place in 2016. The woman reported the incident to the company’s human resources department, and Musk, SpaceX and the attendant ultimately entered a $250,000 severance agreement in 2018, Insider reported.
ELON MUSK FACES SEXUAL ASSAULT CLAIM FROM SPACEX FLIGHT ATTENDANT; SAYS HE EXPOSED HIMSELF DURING MASSAGE
Musk, who is also the CEO of Tesla, denied the sexual misconduct claims to the outlet, calling the story a “politically motivated hit piece.”
“If I were inclined to engage in sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it comes to light,” he wrote.
He also took to Twitter and said the claims should be viewed as political. Musk had said earlier last week that he will vote Republican in future elections after overwhelmingly voting Democrat in previous elections.
“The attacks against me should be viewed through a political lens – this is their standard (despicable) playbook – but nothing will deter me from fighting for a good future and your right to free speech,” the SpaceX CEO wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
A friend of the attendant detailed the incident in a signed declaration. Twitter users asked why the friend would come forward years later, which Musk responded to by saying the friend “is a far left activist/actress in LA with a major political axe to grind.”
ELON MUSK SAYS TWITTER OBVIOUSLY HAS A ‘STRONG’ LEFT-WING BIAS
Musk recently announced he intends to buy Twitter for $44 billion and take it private but suggested Saturday the buyout price should be slashed by the number of bot accounts on the platform.
ELON MUSK SLAMS BIDEN: ‘THE REAL PRESIDENT IS WHOEVER CONTROLS THE TELEPROMPTER
“If 25% of the users are bots then the Twitter acquisition deal should cost 25% less,” Twitter user Ian Miles Cheong tweeted Saturday.
“Absolutely,” Musk responded.

Musk has put the buyout “on hold” until Twitter can prove that only 5% of its users are bots.

Johnny Depp trial – live: Amber Heard accuses actor of sex assault as he calls ex-wife ‘compulsive liar’
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard arrive at the High Court as libel hearing continues
Opening statements have concluded on day one of Johnny Depp’s multi-million defamation lawsuit against his former wife, Amber Heard, which began in Virginia on Monday (11 April) morning with jury selection.
Seven jurors and four alternates were picked to hear the case. He claims a 2018 article written by Heard in The Washington Post – in which she spoke about domestic violence towards women – implied Depp, her former husband, was an abuser.
Although the 35-year-old did not name the actor, lawyers for Depp say Heard’s allegations have made it difficult for the 58-year-old to land roles he previously did.
Depp is known for starring in films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Heard has appeared in titles including Aquaman and Drive Angry.
He is asking for $50m (£38.2m) in damages during the trial in Fairfax County’s district courthouse. Heard has meanwhile filed a counterclaim of defamation against Depp, who she divorced from in 2017, for nuisance.
Depp has previously lost a defamation case in the UK against British newspaperThe Sun regarding the claims in Heard’s 2018 article.
ICYMI: Bredehoft alleges Depp wrote “terrible things” on lampshades, mirrors, and countertops and lists extensive allegations of physical abuse and drug-taking.
Marilyn Manson has been mentioned twice as someone Depp associated with.
In a particularly shocking moment, Bredehoft says that Depp penetrated Heard with a liquor bottle.
Behind her Depp appears to shake his head as if to say “no”.
The graphic nature of the opening statement documenting several alleged incidents of abuse is purportedly backed up with photographic and documentary evidence.

Heard said in 2020 she wanted to be ‘left alone’
ICYMI: Appearing as a witness during Depp’s trial against British newspaper The Sun in 2020, Heard said she wanted to be “left alone” and wanted her former husband to end lawsuits over domestic abuse claims to “save him the embarrassment.”
“I didn’t want to do this, I did not want to expose this totality of what really happened to me,” Heard told London’s Royal Courts of Justice. “I didn’t want to talk about everything that happened in our marriage and happened in our relationship.”
While Depp denies the claims, Heard told the court of 14 allegations of “violence” by Depp between 2013 and 2016, in locations such as a rented house in Australia, his private island in the Bahamas and a private jet, as The Associated Press reported two years ago.
The judge ruled against Depp, who accused the publisher of The Sun of defaming him with a headline including the words “wife beater”. His lawyers afterwards called the judge’s decision “perverse”.

ICYMI: Heard is being characterised by the plaintiff’s legal team as a compulsive liar who covers up one lie with another and used the allegations against Depp to advance her own career and portray herself as a heroic and innocent survivor of abuse.
Depp’s team acknowledge his use of drugs and alcohol but that does not make him an abuser.

Why is the trial taking place in Virginia?
Although the couple both live in California, the defamation case brought by Depp against his former wife is in Virginia, where the trial will play out at Fairfax County’s district courthouse.
Online editions of The Washington Post are published through servers located in Fairfax County, which is thought to be one of the reasons behind Depp’s lawyers deciding on the location.
Another is because of Virginia’s anti-Slapp law, which is not as broad as the one in California. The provision allows a person to claim protection from a lawsuit when speaking about issues of public concern.
Lawyers for Heard, who have filed a counter defamation claim, are expected to use the anti-Slapp law during the trial. It comes four years after her Washington Post article titled: I spoke up against sexual violence – and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.

Franco and Musk to provide testimony
ICYMI: James Franco and Elon Musk are among the high-profile names who will provide a testimony during the case between Depp and Heard.
Paul Bethany, of WandaVision, as well as representatives of the Walt Disney company and Warner Bros are also due to appear in the Fairfax County court, reported Deadline.
The long-delayed trial is due to begin later today with the selection of a jury.

ICYMI: The jury is being shown the opinion piece written by Heard and published in The Washington Post in 2018.
Three statements are highlighted in the article.
— “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”
— “Then two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.”
— “I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse.”
Heard did not use Depp’s name in the article.

‘A conman, a liar and a thief’: Avenatti guilty of stealing $300,000 from Stormy Daniels
Michael Avenatti has been found guilty of defrauding Stormy Daniels of nearly $300,000 (£221,000) in a Manhattan federal court.
Avenatti, 50, stared straight ahead as the jury returned guilty verdicts on wire fraud and aggravated identity theft charges.
He now faces up to 20 years in prison for stealing part of an $800,000 (£590,000) advance Ms Daniels was owed for her 2018 autobiography Full Disclosure, and forging her signature in a contract.
Outside court, Avenatti said he was “very disappointed in the jury’s verdict”.
“I’m looking forward to a full adjudication of all the issues on appeal.”
Judge Jesse Furman ordered Avenatti to surrender to US Marshalls in California on Monday.
Avenatti has delayed beginning a 2.5 year prison sentence for his 2020 conviction in an extortion case while waiting for the book proceeds trial and the retrial of a fraud case in a California federal court.
Prosecutors said it was likely Ms Daniels would speak at his sentencing on 24 May.
In a statement released shortly after the verdicts, Ms Daniels’s lawyer Clark Brewster said she was “relieved this nightmare is over”.
“The text communications between Stormy and Mr Avenatti in real time was overwhelming proof of his receipt and embezzlement.
“The forgery of her name and his concealed directive to wire the money to him was irrefutable.
“Still, Mr Avenatti possessed the uncanny ability to steadfastly deny the crimes and persuade others he was entitled to the embezzled funds.
“Stormy is pleased that the justice system works.”
The jury reached a verdict just before 1500 local time [2000 GMT] on Friday after more than a day of deliberations.
Earlier, they returned a note suggesting that one female juror had been holding out, and that she was refusing to deliberate with other panellists.
During the two-week trial, prosecutors said the California lawyer cheated Ms Daniels of nearly $300,000 she was owed for her autobiography, spending it on his firm’s payroll and personal expenses.
Avenatti argued that he was owed the money and never thought it was wrong to take it.
After firing his public defenders on day two of the trial, he cross-examined Ms Daniels about her ability to speak to dead people and “dark entities that prowled” her former New Orleans home as he attempted to shatter her credibility.
In a tweet after the verdicts were reached, former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen said: “Justice has been served. Michael Avenatti has shown himself to be what I have always known him to be… a conman, a liar and a thief.”
Avenatti helped secure the book deal for Ms Daniels in spring 2018, shortly after he began representing her in lawsuits meant to free her from the rules of a 2016 payment of $130,000 she had received from President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Mr Cohen to remain silent about an alleged affair with Mr Trump a decade before. The hush-money payment occurred just days before Mr Trump was elected president in 2016. He has denied the claims by Ms Daniels.
Mr Avenatti used his heightened profile at the time to make frequent appearances on cable television news programmes.
Ms Daniels, a porn actress who has also earned stage credits in two mainstream movies, testified during the trial that she never authorised Mr Avenatti to pocket some of the $800,000 advance on her autobiography, Full Disclosure, which was published in the fall of 2018.

Burger King murder suspect Winston Glynn held behind bars, calls judge ‘liar’ in court
The man charged with the “cold-blooded” murder of a 19-year-old Burger King employee blew up in court, repeatedly screaming “Liar!” at the judge during his arraignment Friday night.
Winston Glynn, 30, was ordered held without bail on charges of first-degree murder and robbery in the Jan. 9 killing of Kristal Bayron-Nieves, who was shot dead during her shift at the fast-food joint on East 116th Street and Lexington Avenue.
The alleged gunman had multiple outbursts during his first appearance in Manhattan Criminal Court, yelling at Judge Jay Weiner while being escorted out of the courtroom, as his Legal Aid attorney apologized.
“Liar! You didn’t see the judge liar?” the suspect ranted.
The brief hearing was attended by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who did not comment.
Assistant District Attorney Dafna Yoran requested that Glynn be remanded into custody, citing the seriousness of the charges, the fact that he does not have a “stable address,” and his connections to Florida and Jamaica.
“He intentionally killed a 19-year-old Burger King employee in a premeditated gunpoint robbery… He also pistol whipped two others, who were present – including a 60-year-old female manager,” Yoran said.
Glynn’s next court date was set for Jan. 19.
He was busted earlier Friday at an address in Brooklyn, “where detectives recovered items of clothing worn by the killer he tried to dispose of,” Yoran said.
Police said they tracked him down by reviewing “extensive” video footage that captured him carrying a distinctive backpack and white earbuds.
Investigators were also able to trace Glynn to a Manhattan store where he used an EBT card for a purchase prior to the slaying, police officials said.
Glynn — a Jamaica national whose address is listed as a Days Inn in Queens that also serves as a homeless shelter — once worked at the same Burger King, though investigators do not believe that he targeted Bayron-Nieves in the early Sunday-morning stickup.
The teen was working as a cashier at the restaurant at around 1 a.m. when a masked and armed robber walked in and pistol-whipped a male customer before punching a female manager in the face, cops said.
“Give me the cash!” he shouted while pointing a gun at Bayron-Nieves, according to a police source, who said the teen had trouble opening the register drawer.
When she got it open, she handed the robber the cash. She was crouching behind a second register when she was shot, police officials said.
The teen — who had started the job only three weeks earlier — was taken to Metropolitan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later, cops said.
The killer got away with just $100, the victim’s family said
Earlier Friday, Glynn yelled at a crowd of angry onlookers as cops marched him out of 25th Precinct stationhouse to take him to court.
“Where’s our reparations for four hundred years of f–king slavery!” the suspect yelled.
“F–k you all!” he yelled, according to a video taken at the scene by a Post photographer.
Mayor Eric Adams attended a news conference announcing the suspect’s capture, saying he felt compelled to speak about the “cold-blooded killer.”
“When I visited her [Bayron-Nieves’s] mother, just sort of the pain of the face, how much this tore her apart. We don’t see those cries, you don’t see the pain often,” the Democrat said.
Nicki Minaj Responds to Harassment Suit of Husband’s Accuser, Calls Her Liar
Nicki Minaj is calling the woman accusing her and her husband of harassment a bold-faced liar — claiming there are holes in her story that NM and co. believe totally discredit her.
The rapper’s attorney filed legal docs, obtained by TMZ, responding to Jennifer Hough‘s lawsuit from August — where she claimed Nicki, Kenneth Petty and a gaggle of lawyers were on her case … trying to get her to recant her attempted rape claim against Ken … which she made in the ’90s and for which KP was convicted.
Long story short … Nicki’s legal team is calling BS on Hough’s allegations, going so far as to ask the court to sanction her for what they say are blatant falsehoods, which they think she hurled in an attempt to score a payday from Nicki.
The crux of their argument lies in a couple different inconsistencies they say lie within Hough’s account of things — namely, her claiming she had to change her phone number due to the alleged harassment she was receiving from Nicki, plus the claim Nicki’s team had reached out to her brother with a $500k offer if she recanted in a written statement.
On the phone issue ..,. Nicki’s attorney says Hough actually texted Nicki after claiming she needed to change her number and move back in June 2020 to block Nicki and her people from contacting her. Nicki says the text read “US Marshalls are asking questions!!!” The lawyer draws a conclusion from this — Hough wasn’t actually trying to hide her number from Nicki at all (contrary to what she alleges). Nicki’s team thinks it makes it clear she wasn’t scared and is just looking for a payday.
There’s also the issue of an interview Hough gave earlier this year, which the attorney says differs from what she alleged in court docs. In the interview, NM’s lawyer says Hough noted her brother told her somebody had reached out with a $500k offer if she talked to a lawyer repping Petty. NM’s lawyer said the allegation in the lawsuit that Nicki was behind the offer is merely speculation that gave her a reason to try to sue Nicki.
Bottom line … Nicki’s lawyer says this woman was looking to score a quick buck from Minaj, and is now twisting the tale to do so.
