QB Lamar Jackson noncommittal about Covid-19 vaccine after contracting virus twice

“I just got off the Covid list, so I’ve got to talk to my team about this and try to see how they feel about it,” he said. “I’m going to keep grinding as much as I can about it, and go from there.”

He was asked again if he would get vaccinated.

“We’ll see. Talking to the doctors. We’ll see,” he said. He later added he felt getting the vaccine was a personal decision.

“I’m just going to worry about that with my family, keep my feelings to my family and myself. I’m focused on getting better right now. I can’t dwell on that right now on how everybody else feels — just trying to get back into a great routine,” he said.

Jackson tested positive for the second time in July before training camp and said he was upset by it.

“What the? Again?! It was crazy. I was heartbroken because I wasn’t looking forward to that all. Right before camp it was like, not again. Not right now. But it’s over with,” Jackson said, adding he was fatigued and slept a lot.

“But I’m glad to be back. Ten days being off, I didn’t like it at all,” he said.

Jackson first tested positive in late November 2020, according to the NFL Network and ESPN. It was during this time the Ravens were struggling to manage a Covid outbreak among players — at one point placing 20 players on the Reserve/Covid-19 list.

Vaccinated players that test positive and remain asymptomatic are eligible to return after testing negative twice in a 24-hour span, according to league protocols.

Unvaccinated players are required to quarantine for 10 days and then test negative before they’re able to return.

Jackson said Monday he didn’t feel that having an unvaccinated quarterback was a disadvantage to the Ravens.

“I’m just going to follow the NFL protocols as much as I can, best I can. I’m not worried about it. Last year I came off Covid, I felt like we did pretty good,” he said. “This year, I’m trying to do the same thing if anything. Just like I said, I’m going to follow the protocols.”

Jackson’s noncommittal to the vaccine comes as the NFL and other leagues try to combat vaccine hesitancy among players. Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley tweeted in June he’d rather retire than get a vaccine, but in July said he was not “anti or pro vax. I’m pro choice.”

CNN’s Homero De la Fuente, Jill Martin and Ray Sanchez contributed to this report.

Baltimore Ravens activate quarterback Lamar Jackson off COVID-19 list

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Lamar Jackson has been officially activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list, which puts him on track to practice at Baltimore Ravens training camp on Saturday.

Jackson missed the previous 10 days of training camp, which is the NFL rule for unvaccinated players who receive a positive COVID-19 test result. He returned to the team facility Friday and underwent testing at the facility under the NFL’s protocol, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh said after Friday’s practice that he hadn’t been told when Jackson would return to the practice field. But the Ravens activated Jackson a couple of hours later, which allows him to participate in his first full-team practice of the summer.

“He’ll be back as soon as he can be,” Harbaugh said after Friday’s practice. “I’m excited for that. I’m looking forward to it.”

Jackson tested positive on July 27 after five straight days of negative results. He has missed all of Baltimore’s eight full-team practices of training camp so far.

This marked the second time in eight months that Jackson had tested positive for the coronavirus. On Tuesday, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan urged Jackson to get vaccinated.

Running back Gus Edwards, who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list at the same time as Jackson, returned to practice Friday and looked strong in drills.

“Gus obviously was more ahead [of Jackson] in terms of not having to take certain tests,” Harbaugh said.

Ravens defensive end Derek Wolfe didn’t hide his displeasure over the current COVID rules in the NFL.

“I don’t want to really talk about that, to be honest,” Wolfe said. ‘We can’t do anything about it. The higher-ups with white hats are going to do what they want. I guess the sheep just got to follow. I’m just here to play football.”

Pro Bowl linebacker Justin Houston, who signed a one-year deal with Baltimore on Monday, practiced for the first time with the Ravens on Friday. He participated in individual drills before leaving the field.

“That was part of the plan with Justin,” Harbaugh said. “We’re going to have to work him back in.”

On Friday, the Ravens avoided an injury scare with cornerback Jimmy Smith, who was carted off the field late in practice. Smith suffered a low ankle sprain that is not considered serious, according to a source.

Lamar Odom ‘wants to rekindle relationship with Khloe Kardashian’

Lamar Odom ‘wants to rekindle relationship with Khloe Kardashian… and attempted to catch her attention with flirty comment’

He raised eyebrows when he left a flirty comment on his ex-wife’s bikini photo a few days ago.

But as it turns out, Lamar Odom had been hoping for a potential rekindling when he commented on Khloe Kardashian’s sexy swimsuit picture, according to TMZ.

Insiders have told the website that the former Lakers player, 41, longs to get back with Khloe, 37, and had hoped to catch her attention with the ‘hottie’ comment.

Second chance? Lamar Odom had been hoping for a potential rekindling when he commented on Khloe Kardashian’s sexy swimsuit picture, according to TMZ

Lamar decided to take his chances on the comment now that Khloe is back on the market following her split from Tristan Thomspon, who hit back at Odom on social media after the basketball player left his comment.

Insiders also told the site that Lamar had no intention of being disrespectful towards Khloe’s recent ex, Tristan.

However, sources say Lamar thinks Tristan is ‘fumbling the bag’ with Khloe, and had wanted to see how his comment might impact the exes.

While Lamar has yet to speak with Khloe or Tristan, he has been engaged in a social media feud with the former Cleveland Cavaliers player ever since leaving his comment.

After Lamar commented ‘Hottie’ on Khloe’s Instagram snap, Tristan replied directly to him: ‘God brought you back the first time. Play if you want, different results.’

Lamar, who appears to have deleted his ‘hottie’ comment shortly after posting it, did throw another barb on Twitter when he posted a meme of ‘NBA Twitter’ reacting to the feud.

‘NBA Twitter watching Tristan Thompson pretend to act tough on Lamar Odom,’ the tweet read, along with a video of various basketball players and celebrities laughing and shaking their heads.

Offense! Lamar, who appears to have deleted his comment shortly after posting it, did throw another barb on Twitter when he posted a meme of ‘NBA Twitter’ reacting to the feud

Khloe and Lamar tied the knot just one month after meeting a party in 2009. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.

The reality star now shares three-year-old daughter True with her ex Tristan, whom she has recently split from once again.

However, sources told People on Friday that the Good American founder remains ‘very loyal’ to Tristan — with whom she shares three-year-old daughter True Thompson — even if they’ve chosen to go their separate ways.

‘For now, Khloé is single and seems okay with it,’ the insider shared. ‘She continues to co-parent with Tristan and they spend time together as a family. Even though he has disappointed Khloé so many times, she is still very loyal to Tristan.’

Despite all the times the Celtics star had publicly embarrassed her with his repeated infidelities, Khloé apparently didn’t care to see others ganging up on him.

‘She doesn’t like when people criticize him,’ the source added. ‘He will always be special to her. It’s very possible that they will get back together eventually.’

Tristan Thompson seemingly threatens Khloe Kardashian’s ex-husband Lamar Odom

Tristan Thompson seemingly threatened Khloe Kardashian’s ex-husband in the comments section of the reality star’s sultry new picture.

The drama began Friday when Kardashian, 37, took to Instagram to share a sexy snap of herself cooling off in an outdoor shower. She is seen running her hands through her hair while wearing a black bikini.

Her ex-husband Lamar Odom, 41, reacted to Kardashian’s photo in the comments section, writing “Hottie” with several flame and heart eye emojis. It appears Odom has since deleted the comment.

Thompson, 30, appeared to be bothered by Odom’s reaction and wrote a comment of his own underneath the pic that reads, “@lamarodom God brought you back the first time. Play if you want, different results.”

KHLOÉ KARDASHIAN AND TRISTAN THOMPSON BREAK UP AGAIN

Thompson, who plays for the Boston Celtics, also added a complimentary comment about Kardashian with red heart and drooling emojis.

It’s unclear if Thompson’s comment to Odom was a joke but many online were dismayed at the professional basketball player’s comment.

“He had her 1st…the nerve of you.. You have no room to talk nor threaten anyone,” one user wrote.

“Maybe if you cherished her in the first place you wouldn’t be in the comments and you’d be the one taking the pic, let that woman be happy,” added another.

“That was so uncalled for. Grow up!” another wrote.

Thompson’s jab at Odom seemingly refers to the former Los Angeles Lakers star’s near-fatal overdose in October 2015.

Kardashian was previously married to Odom from 2009 to 2016. The former couple’s marriage was documented on E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” and later in a spinoff called “Khloe and Lamar.”

Thompson is the father of Kardashian’s daughter, True, 3. The athlete has come under fire several times before for his past infidelities, notably when Kardashian was pregnant. He also was at the center of a cheating scandal involving Kylie Jenner’s best friend, Jordyn Woods.

Reports in June claimed the two had broken up after Thompson was accused of cheating again.

Reps for Thompson, Kardashian and Odom did not immediately return Fox News’ requests for comment.

Tristan Thompson spars with Lamar Odom on Khloé Kardashian’s Instagram

Gentlemen, please.

Tristan Thompson seemingly threatened Lamar Odom in the comments section of their mutual ex Khloé Kardashian’s Instagram.

The trouble in paradise started when Odom, 41, commented “Hottie” and a string of emoji under a snap of Kardashian, 37, performing her ablutions in an outdoor shower.

Thompson, 30, took issue with that, writing, “God brought you back the first time. Play if you want, different results.” He followed it up with a more restrained “❤️❤️🤤🤤” in a separate comment.

Now, far be it from Page Six — for legal reasons — to suggest that Thompson was threatening Odom, per se, but the jibe seems a likely reference to Odom’s near-fatal overdose at the Las Vegas-area Love Ranch brothel in October 2015.

Odom later appeared to delete his comment on the post, which Khloé’s sister Kim and a number of other celebs — including Shanina Shaik, whose sister Irina was recently linked to Kim’s ex, Kanye West — commented on.

Page Six exclusively reported in June that Khloé and Boston Celtics baller Thompson, who are parents to 3-year-old daughter True, broke up after their on-and-off relationship was persistently dogged by rumors of his infidelity. Since then, Thompson has been all over Kardashian’s social media accounts, to the delight of the internet commentariat.

Kardashian and Odom were married from 2009 to 2016 and starred in a “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” spin-off named after themselves. They finalized their divorce after he recovered from his overdose.

While Thompson is the younger man, Odom did recently defeat no less an illustrious opponent than — *checks notes* — Aaron Carter in a celebrity boxing match, so lay your bets, folks.

Baltimore Ravens GM — Lamar Jackson contract talks won’t be impacted by Dak Prescott’s deal with Dallas Cowboys

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Baltimore Ravens’ contract talks with Lamar Jackson won’t be impacted by Dak Prescott’s record-breaking deal with the Dallas Cowboys, general manager Eric DeCosta said Tuesday.

“If you got to the Bentley dealership or the Range Rover dealership, you know what the cars are going to cost. You’re not going to get much of a discount,” DeCosta said. “They all cost about the same, and you go in there with the idea that you’re either going to buy the car or you’re not going to buy the car. … In the end, they’re all very big contracts. They’re outstanding players. They’re quarterback deals. They’re marquee players and you know you’re going to pay a lot, but you’re going to get a lot in return.”

On Monday, Prescott agreed to a four-year, $160 million contract with the Cowboys that includes a $66 million signing bonus, the highest in NFL history, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Prescott’s average of $40 million per year ranks behind only that of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes ($45 million per season).

DeCosta said he has had recent one-on-one conversations with Jackson around the framework of a long-term deal. But the sides haven’t begun formal negotiations and no contract proposals have been exchanged.

“We’re confident and committed to trying to get a long-term deal done, and hopefully we can get that done at some point in the near future,” DeCosta said. “It might take a little time, but we’re willing to try.”

Jackson, 24, is entering the final year of his four-year, $9.5 million rookie contract. He’s scheduled to earn $1.771 million in 2021 — which currently ranks 23rd among quarterbacks — after leading the Ravens to the playoffs in each of his three seasons and capturing the NFL MVP award in 2019.

Baltimore technically can keep Jackson from being a free agent through at least the 2023 season if it exercises his fifth-year option and uses the franchise tag. The process to sign franchise quarterbacks can be a long one. It took three years for the Cowboys and Prescott to strike a deal.

But DeCosta said his approach with Jackson won’t change by watching how talks unfolded in Dallas with Prescott.

“Every negotiation is different. Every player is different. Every GM is different,” DeCosta said. “We have a strategy, and we have a relationship. Lamar has played three years, and you know what, he’s a good player. We really feel good about him. I think he really feels good about us. It’s up to us to get a deal done.”

DeCosta indicated that he doesn’t know whether Jackson will continue to represent himself or will hire an agent.

According to DeCosta, he has had a couple of talks with Jackson since the season ended and spent time with him a few weeks ago. DeCosta said they talked about the team and about Jackson’s family as well as his goals and dreams for the future.

“We laughed a lot,” DeCosta said. “It’s been really healthy and really, really good. We started to talk about what a contract might look like, but we really haven’t necessarily gotten into all the weeds and the nuances of all those types of things, but that will be coming at some point soon.”

DeCosta added, “We will be as transparent as possible with Lamar. He’ll be as transparent as possible with us. Certainly, it’s going to be a good relationship and partnership.”

DeCosta touched on other topics during his 36-minute news conference:

  • The Ravens have started preliminary contract talks with Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews, who also is entering the final year of his rookie contract. “I love everything about Mark — his personality, his ability, his work ethic, demeanor, competitiveness,” DeCosta said. “He’s the type of guy we want to keep.”

  • DeCosta said there is no deadline on a possible trade of Pro Bowl offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., who expressed his desire to play left tackle on social media. “He’s under contract, and he understands that,” DeCosta said. “We’ll do what’s best for Orlando and we’ll do what’s best for the Ravens.”

  • The grievance with safety Earl Thomas is ongoing and won’t be resolved soon. Thomas was cut last August after he punched teammate Chuck Clark in practice. If the Ravens win the grievance, they will get an additional $5 million in cap space. If Baltimore loses, that will take away $5 million of cap room.
