Anand Ambani’s engagement with Radhika Merchant on Thursday gave another reason to Bollywood stars to deck up in the best outfits for a party. In attendance were Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif, Gauri Khan, Aryan Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and many others.

Deepika Padukone turned up in a beautiful red saree and a thick diamond necklace. Next to her, Ranveer sparkled in a black outfit. The couple posed for the camera in their usual style before heading inside for the party. Gauri Khan glowed in a silver dress and posed with son Aryan, who was in an all-black suit. Her husband, actor Shah Rukh Khan was also spotted in black but he headed straight inside the venue and refused to pose for the paparazzi.

Katrina Kaif wore a white outfit with impressive shoulder pads. She posed alone for the paparazzi as husband Vicky Kaushal gave the event a skip. Salman Khan, who wore a blue kurta pyjama, had a very special date for the evening: his niece Alizeh Agnihotri. She looked pretty in her white lehenga.

Sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor were also seen in stunning lehengas. Ananya wore a white one and posed with Arjun Kapoor and Orhan Awatramani.

Anant and Radhika had a traditional engagement ceremony where they performed old Gujarati rituals such as Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi.

Radhika is the daughter of Viren Merchant, the CEO of Encore Healthcare. She hails from Kutch, Gujarat. She has trained in Bharatnatyam for eight years and is the disciple of Guru Bhavana Thakar of Shree Nibha Arts. In June 2022, Radhika made headlines after the Ambani family hosted a grand Arangetram ceremony at Jio World Centre. ‘Arangetram’ is a Tamil word which means ascending the stage by a dancer on the completion of formal training. It is the debut on-stage performance of a student of Indian classical dance and music following years of training.

Anant, son of Nita and Mukesh Ambani, completed his studies from Brown University in the USA and has since served at Reliance industries in various capacities including as a member on the Boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures. He currently leads the energy business of RIL.

Actress Ileana D’Cruz, who is currently in the Maldives for Katrina Kaif’s birthday festivities, is reportedly dating the Zero actress’ brother and model Sebastian Laurent Michel. (Katrina Kaif celebrated her 39th birthday on Saturday) . Speaking of rumours of Ileana and Sebastian’s romance, a recent ETimes report stated, “Sebastian and Ileana are said to be in a relationship for about six months now. Sources have it that the couple chooses to hang out at Katrina’s old residence in Bandra, at Ileana’s pad around the same part of the suburb and in London, too.” Other than that, Ileana shared pictures from Katrina’s birthday bash, which also features Sebastian.

Katrina Kaif celebrated her 39th birthday in the Maldives with her husband Vicky Kaushal, siblings Isabelle Kaif and Sebastien Laurent Michel, brother-in-law Sunny Kaushal and friends, including Mini Mathur and Ileana D’Cruz. Now, the Namastey London actress has offered a glimpse of her beachside birthday on her Instagram handle and captioned it as, “Birthday wala din,” followed by heart emoticons”. In the images, the actress can be seen posing with her girl gang, including actress Ileana D’Cruz, sister Isabelle Kaif, Angira Dhar and Sunny’s rumoured girlfriend Sharvari Wagh. In the last image, Sunny photobombs the picture in style. Seeing the photos, it seems the actress had a blast.

Katrina Kaif turned a year older yesterday (July 16), and to make the day more special, her husband Vicky Kaushal shared an adorable birthday post wishing his “love”. The Sardar Udham actor shared a beautiful picture of Katrina from their recent birthday getaway and wrote a sweet note that read, “Baar baar din yeh aaye… baar baar dil yeh gaaye. Happy Birthday my love!!!,” followed by heart emoticons. In the image, Katrina can be seen happily posing by the beachside in an oversized white shirt. To celebrate Katrina’s birthday, Vicky, along with friends and his brother Sunny Kaushal jetted off to the Maldives.

Moments after Alia Bhatt announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband Ranbir Kapoor, fans stormed Twitter to celebrate. However, at the same time, meme-makers and trolls also had a field day at the star couple’s expense.

Those who kept up with the top trends on social media will know that the trolls also dragged actresses Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif into their posts and passed mean jokes and nasty comments against the two. Some even went as far as asking the two actresses when they can expect the ‘khush khabri’.

Ranbir and Alia became the butt of several jokes online for announcing the happy news just two months after their wedding on April 14. Many also took jibes at Deepika who has been married to Ranveer Singh for three years and even Katrina, who married Vicky Kaushal last December.

Not to take the mean posts lying down, fans of the actresses took to Twitter to shut down the trolls and ask them to ‘back off’.

Another rose to defend the actresses saying, “Some people are judging Deepika and Katrina for not having a child yet. As if it’s a race.”

“Taunting Deepika & Katrina for not having a baby being married. Just a misogynistic society who can’t mind their own business” said another.

Besides the trolling, social media has been flooded with congratulatory messages for the parents-to-be. Everyone from fans to friends, former costars and well-wishers have been taking to social media to wish the two the best for parenthood.

“Our baby ….. coming soon,” Alia announced in an Instagram post that has since garnered over 6 million likes.

Ranbir and Alia wed in an intimate wedding ceremony in April at their Bandra apartment. The two will soon be seen sharing the screen for the first time in the upcoming action flick ‘Brahmastra’ which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in lead roles. The film releases on September 9, 2022.

After the family dinner, they all posed for the paparazzi, and Vicky and Katrina were seen walking hand-in-hand. Going by the pictures, the lovebirds hosted a private Christmas party at their new house where they shifted after tying the knot earlier this month. Attended by only their close friends, the couple had a blast as they happily posed for the camera. Well, it was Christmas and just like the whole world, the newlywed also celebrated the festival with full fervour and zeal. The couple, who reportedly returned from their honeymoon, were pictured outside Vicky Kaushal’s Andheri home. When the couple were asked to pose for the cameras, they obliged with smiles and waves. Vicky wore a beige shirt and Katrina was pretty as ever in a pink ensemble. During the photo-op session, a paparazzo asked Vicky Kaushal: “How’s the josh?” Other paps followed and Vicky and Katrina simply smiled at the question. For the uninitiated, it is a popular dialogue from Vicky’s 2019 blockbuster film Uri: The Surgical Strike. Meanwhile, a paparazzo referred to Katrina Kaif as “bhabhiji.”
