Jimmy Kimmel mocks Harry and William ‘fight’ in hilarious skit

Jimmy Kimmel has mocked William and Harry in a hilarious skit showing two actors dressed as Prince squabbling in a kitchen.

The sketch pokes fun at a row in Nottingham Cottage revealed by Harry in his bombshell memoir ‘Spare’, which leaked in Spain five days before it was due to be released on January 10.

Harry claimed the stand-up row about Meghan Markle ended with William grabbing him by the collar and throwing him to the floor, shattering a dog bowl. His back was scraped and bruised.

Talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel gave his interpretation of the fight in a skit called ‘Two Princes: A True Story’. Warning: Clip contains explicit language.

‘He came at me, and we tussled’, a voiceover quoting from ‘Spare’ reads, as the two begin to cat fight and slap each other with their eyes closed

‘I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me,’ it continues as each step is performed with great exaggeration, as William twirls the necklace around and the dog bowl shatters into pieces

Actors playing the Duke of Sussex and Prince of Wales are dressed up as pop legend Prince in velvet robes and purple feather boas as they reenact extracts from the memoir.

‘Prince William’ shakes his hair dramatically as the fight begins, calling Harry a ‘w***ker’.

The clip zooms in on a calendar dated 2018 with a picture of the Queen as the fight continues.

At the end the two princes bow to the cameras and laugh as flowers are thrown at them and the curtains close.

But Twitter users were divided over the clip as some found it ‘hilarious’, but others couldn’t see past the ‘sad situation’ of the deterioration of the relationship between the two brothers.

Harry also spoke about the tussle with William in an interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby, out on Sunday.

In a newly released clip from ITV’s forthcoming interview with Harry, the duke said his brother was so frustrated during the incident which reportedly took place in 2019, he saw ‘red mist in him’.

‘He wanted me to hit him back, but I chose not to,’ he said of his brother. In the clip released early today, Harry said to his friend Mr Bradby: ‘What was different here was the level of frustration, and I talk about the red mist that I had for so many years, and I saw this red mist in him.’

The Guardian, which first reported the dispute, said it was able to obtain a copy of the book, due to be published on January 10, despite strong security measures around its release.

The book has also revealed:

The Duke of Sussex has spoken out again over the alleged confrontation between himself and his brother, the Prince of Wales, in an interview with ITV’s Tom Brady

It follows the Sussexes six-part Netflix docu-series ‘Harry and Meghan’, which was released last month.

Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have declined to comment on anything Harry has said on TV or in his book. But an insider told The Times: ‘It is exhausting, it is exasperating, but it is not distracting. It will burn itself out.’

The royal also told Bradby he wants to reconcile with his family – something which he says cannot happen without ‘some accountability’.

‘I want reconciliation,’ he says, ‘but, first, there needs to be some accountability’. The duke also said: ‘The truth, supposedly, at the moment, has been there’s only one side of the story, right? But, there’s two sides to every story.’

The show, called Harry: The Interview, will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITX at 9pm on Sunday.

Quinta Brunson had to step over Jimmy Kimmel to accept her Emmy

CNN
 —

Quinta Brunson brought the audience to its feet when she won her first Emmy – but at her feet during the moment was Jimmy Kimmel, who pretended to be unconscious and stayed on the floor while she accepted her award as part of an intended joke that ended up miffing some viewers.

Kimmel presented the award for outstanding writing for a comedy series with Will Arnett, who dragged Kimmel on stage and joked that Kimmel “got into the skinny margaritas” at the theater’s bar after losing in an earlier category.

After the “Abbott Elementary” creator and star was announced as winner for writing the pilot of the popular sitcom, Kimmel stayed on the ground at the base of the microphone stand. He remained there throughout Brunson’s acceptance speech and into the commercial break, nearly two minutes in total.

Footage shared by a ceremony attendee showed that Arnett pulled Kimmel’s body offstage at the end of the segment.

Brunson, unfazed, used her limited time to thank the “Abbott Elementary” team, her family and her husband, but not without a dig at Kimmel: “Jimmy, wake up. I won!”

Kimmel remained out of the camera’s frame for the duration of Brunson’s speech, which lasted roughly one minute.

Later backstage, Brunson addressed the moment, saying the bit “didn’t bother me that much,” adding that Kimmel was an early supporter of her and “Abbott Elementary.”

“Tomorrow maybe I’ll be mad at him. I’m going to be on his show on Wednesday, so I might punch him in the face,” she joked.

It would be the final time Brunson would appear onstage Monday. “Ted Lasso” won over “Abbott Elementary” in the outstanding comedy category, its second win in as many years.

Though Brunson’s win was widely celebrated – “Abbott Elementary” is a massive hit, ABC’s most successful comedy in years – many viewers chided Kimmel for not ceding the spotlight, particularly to a Black woman accepting her first Emmy. (Kimmel, meanwhile, has been nominated for 18 Emmys and won two since 2012.)

Sociologist Nancy Wang Yuen, who studies race in the entertainment industry, congratulated Brunson for “Abbott Elementary,” whose cast is primarily Black and takes place in an underfunded Philadelphia public school. But she didn’t think much of Kimmel’s joke: “And presenter Jimmy Kimmel, get up, it’s unfunny and rude,” Yuen tweeted.

Ernest Owens, editor-at-large at Philadelphia Magazine, said he was irked by Kimmel, whom he said was “trying to take attention away” from Brunson’s win.

Brunson, meanwhile, will return with the anticipated second season of “Abbott Elementary” on September 21.

Chelsea Handler Ends Kimmel Run by Going Off on Joe Rogan and Clarence Thomas

Chelsea Handler kicked off her week of shows guest-hosting for Jimmy Kimmel by going after “pro-life” Republicans and joking that her own three abortions are all the proof Americans need that Roe v. Wade should never have been overturned.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time guest-hosting,” the comedian said on Thursday night. “But just like women’s rights, all good things must come to an end.” If “nothing else,” she took solace in the fact that she “got one viewer to change his stance,” highlighting a tweet that began, “Knowing she isn’t raising kids is almost justification for abortion.”

In her final monologue of the week, Handler delivered a history lesson of sorts about the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote in 1919. Just over a hundred years later, she proposed a 28th Amendment to “end male suffrage.”

But if that’s not a realistic option, she issued a challenge to the men of America: “Guys, if you don’t want us going after your rights, then you better get up off your hairy asses and join the fight to defend ours.”

Instead of “mansplaining” to women about how to win back their rights, she said, “Shut up, OK? How about you do the work for once and don’t open your mouth unless you’re chanting, ‘Her body, her choice.’” She implored men to, “Talk to your sons. Tell them why this is so important before they get radicalized by Joe Rogan.”

“You have the power to make a difference,” Handler added. “If every man donated just one dollar to Planned Parenthood after they masturbated, this organization would have enough resources to help every woman on planet Earth.”

“And all of you have got to take some goddamn responsibility,” she said. “Abortion is a men’s issue. Because if there were no men, there would be no abortions. In fact, if there were no men, we’d all be going down on each other in space right now.”

Handler ended her rant with “one small piece of encouraging news,” the swearing-in of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. “For the first time ever, there are now four women on the Supreme Court,” she said to cheers. “And five if you include that bitch Clarence Thomas.”

Biden takes shot at Trump and Republicans on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’

President Joe Biden used his first in-person appearance on a late-night talk show since taking office to take shots at his White House predecessor and the “hard right” Republican party in an interview that was dominated by gun control talk.

Biden also touched on a number of other hot-button issues like abortion rights, climate change and inflation during his Wednesday night appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” — which came about four months after his last on-the-record interview with a reporter.

The president knocked former President Donald Trump during the roughly 20-minute Q&A when host Jimmy Kimmel questioned the possible use of executive orders to push through gun control.

Kimmel, who is typically left-leaning, quipped that “Trump passed those out like Halloween candy.”

The president acknowledged that he has issued executive orders within his power. “But what I don’t want to do — and I’m not being facetious — I don’t want to emulate Trump’s abuse of the constitution and constitutional authority,” the commander in chief said.

He also took aim at Republicans.

“I also get asked, ‘look the Republicans don’t play it square, why do you play it square?’” Biden said. “Well guess what, if we do the same thing they do, our democracy would literally be in jeopardy and that is not a joke.”

He went on to say that the GOP party has undergone “a radical shift” since Trump was elected, moving “hard right” and its members often vote against what many call “common sense” gun control because they’re afraid of being voted out of office.

“This is not your father’s Republican party,” Biden said. “This is a MAGA party, a very different Republican party and you find people who are worried, I believe, that if they vote for rational gun policy, they’re gonna be primaried and they’re going to lose in a hard-right Republican primary.”

He said, however, that the American people must in fact make gun control a voting issue in order to pass the reform measures that will likely die in the current Senate.

The president also spoke about the recently leaked Supreme Court draft decision to overturn Roe V. Wade — calling it “ridiculous.”

“I don’t think the country will stand for it,” Biden said.

“It’s clear that if in fact the decision comes down the way it does and these states impose the limitations they’re talking about, it’s gonna cause a mini revolution and they’re going to vote a lot of these folks out of office.”

He said his administration is exploring the possibility of employing executive orders to protect abortion rights and said federal legislation is needed as well.

Earlier in the interview, Biden touted the success of the American economy and job growth since taking office.

“We have the fastest growing economy in the world,” he said. “Unemployment rate is down to 3.6%. We reduced the deficit last year by $320 billion, this year we’re gonna reduce it by $1.7 trillion.”

However, he admitted that the US has not escaped the pains of inflation as the prices of food and gas have surged, affecting everyday Americans.

“Inflation is the bane of our existence,” he said.

Biden’s visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is his first in-person late night show appearance during his presidency. Last December the president appeared virtually on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon.

It’s also one of the few sit-down interviews the president has given recently — notably with a comedian and left-leaning talk show host and not a journalist. Biden hasn’t given an on-the-record, sit-down interview to a reporter in about four months.

Biden’s appearance on ‘Kimmel’ was his first late night appearance since December 2021.
