Shakira realized ex allegedly cheated due to jam jar, referenced in music video with head in fridge: report

Shakira fans believe the singer realized her ex Gerard Piqué was cheating on her when she returned to their home from touring to find an empty jar of strawberry jam. She eats strawberry jam, but her husband and children reportedly don’t like it.

The Colombian singer also seemingly referenced the incriminating spreadable in a music video she released around the time of their split last year that showed the disembodied head of her collaborator on the song “Te Felicito” inside a refrigerator that she opens.

The jam revelation was reported by ShowNews Today, which pointed out the internet frenzy.

“The moment Shakira saw that jam bottle as she opened the fridge, she knew it was over for her,” one fan tweeted. Another said, “i found out my ex was cheating from a smoothie receipt in his car. Shakira found out from a jar of jam. I don’t care how crazy we look or sound, when something doesn’t feel right, women will always find out.”

SHAKIRA RELEASES NEW SONG THAT SEEMS TO DETAIL HER RELATIONSHIP WITH EX GERARD PIQUE: ‘I’M TOO GOOD FOR YOU’

Shakira may have shaded Gerard Piqué in her music video “Te Felicito” when she opens a fridge to find the head of song collaborator Rauw Alejandro inside. The pop star reportedly found a jar of jam in her fridge that made her suspicious Piqué had been cheating while she was away.

A rep for Shakira did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

In the video about a lying ex who was not what he seemed to be, Shakira, who sings about how she “can’t stand two-faced people,” sings, “Your wound didn’t open my skin, but it did open my eyes.” She also opens a refrigerator to find the head of her collaborator on the song, Rauw Alejandro, which some fans believe is a reference to Piqué’s jam.

In an interview with the British show “This Morning” last May, Shakira said she opened the fridge in the video “to find out the truth. So I go to the refrigerator, and it is when I find the head of Rauw Alejandro, which is pretty scary,” she laughed.

ShowNews Today reported that, in the Spanish TV show “Socialite,” it was noted that the clue was the jar of jam. That set the internet ablaze.

The pop star, 45, also renewed her shade against Piqué last week in a new hit song that refers to his new girlfriend as a budget version of Shakira and says she won’t get back with him even if he begs her.

Shakira, 45, and the Spanish soccer player, 35, separated last year after 11 years amid rumors he was cheating on her.

In “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” a collaboration with Argentine DJ Bizarrap, Shakira sings in Spanish, “I was out of your league” and “This is for you to be mortified, to chew and swallow, swallow and chew. I won’t get back with you, not if you cry, not even if you beg me.”

She refers to herself as a “She Wolf,” a reference to her 2009 song, adding, “Women no longer cry, women get paid.”

She also swipes at Piqué’s supposed girlfriend, saying, “You traded in a Ferrari for a Twingo, You traded in a Rolex for a Casio.”

Pique reportedly shaded his wife by wearing a Casio and was seen driving a Renault Twingo after the song was released.

Shakira is also reportedly building a wall around her home to keep out Piqué’s mother, who lives near her, according to Marca. She referred to her proximity in “BZRP Music Sessions, singing, “You left me with your mom as a neighbor.”

The song has topped Spotify’s global playlist and broke a record for YouTube views of a Spanish language song since being released last week.

The former couple met in 2010 when he was in her music video for “Waka Waka,” the official song of that year’s World Cup. They split up last spring.

Oil tanker jam forms off Turkey after start of Russian oil cap

A traffic jam of oil tankers has built up in Turkish waters after western powers launched a “price cap” targeting Russian oil and as authorities in Ankara demanded insurers promise that any vessels navigating its straits were fully covered.

Under EU sanctions which came into effect on Monday, tankers loading Russian crude oil are barred from accessing western maritime insurance unless the oil is sold under the G7’s price cap of $60 a barrel. The cap was introduced to keep oil flowing while still crimping Moscow’s revenues.

Four oil industry executives said Turkey had demanded new proof of insurance in light of the price cap. A Turkish transport ministry spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment

Russia has vowed to continue exporting its oil even if it is cut off from western insurance markets. Russia has said it will not deal with any country abiding by the cap.

Around 19 crude oil tankers were waiting to cross Turkish waters on Monday, according to ship brokers, oil traders and satellite tracking services. The vessels had dropped anchor near the Bosphorus and Dardanelles, the two straits linking Russia’s Black Sea ports to international markets. The first tanker arrived on November 29 and has been waiting for six days, according to a ship broker who asked not to be named.

The tankers waiting in and around Turkish waters are the first sign that the price cap could disrupt global oil flows beyond Russia’s exports.

Much of the oil on the ships off Turkey is of Kazakhstan origin, according to shipbrokers and TankerTrackers.com, which monitor global oil shipments. Kazakhstan oil arrives in Russian ports via pipeline and is not targeted by western sanctions.

Ankara has asked all crude tankers passing through the Turkish straits to provide letters from their protection and indemnity providers, known as P&I Clubs, confirming that insurance cover would remain in place to cover incidents such as oil spills and collisions.

But the International Group of P&I Clubs, which represents 13 mutual insurers providing liability cover to around 90 per cent of global shipping, said on Monday that the Turkish request went “well beyond” the general information normally required.

It was not possible for P&I providers to guarantee cover even in the case of a sanctions breach, the group said in a statement by one of its members.

Nick Shaw, the group’s chief executive, told the Financial Times it was in “ongoing constructive discussions with the relevant authorities to try and resolve the situation”.

Russia has assembled a so-called “shadow fleet” of more than 100 tankers to try and circumvent western restrictions on its oil exports, which may operate either without insurance or from providers outside the west.

One oil industry participant with knowledge of the situation said that Russian insurance companies had provided letters of confirmation to Turkish authorities in order to secure passage through Turkish waters. The shippers with insurance from western providers were the ones being held up, the person added.

Tankers carrying refined products like petrol and diesel rather than crude oil were also being let through by Turkish authorities, as EU sanctions on those fuels do not take effect until February.

Artemis 1 traffic jam: NASA moon launch may draw crowd of 400,000

A crowd the size of a major American city may turn out to watch NASA’s Artemis 1 moon rocket lift off this weekend.

Artemis 1 was supposed to launch from Kennedy Space Center, in Florida’s Brevard County, on Monday morning (Aug. 29). According to county officials (opens in new tab), 100,000 to 200,000 people flocked to the Space Coast to see that attempt, which was scrubbed due to an issue with one of the first-stage engines on Artemis 1’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.

The mission team thinks that problem is a minor one, involving a faulty temperature sensor, and plans to push ahead with another liftoff try on Saturday (Sept. 3) at 2:17 p.m. EDT (1817 GMT). That’s right in the middle of Labor Day weekend, potentially allowing many more people to see the uncrewed launch first-hand.

Indeed, Brevard County officials are expecting a huge crowd — perhaps double what they saw on Monday, at 200,000 to 400,000 strong, the Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday (opens in new tab) (Sept. 1). And other Space Coast officials concur with that estimate.

“We’re confident it’ll be more than however many we had Monday, because it’s a four-ship day at the port, a milestone launch, a weekend launch and a holiday weekend — some of the top reasons visitors come here all wrapped up into a single day,” Meagan Happel, public relations manager and film commissioner with Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism, told Space.com via email. “So, yes, we’re projecting possibly double our original estimate with how much interest there has been.”

For perspective: 400,000 people is roughly the population of New Orleans or Tampa. That’s a lot of people to see a rocket launch, but this isn’t just any old mission. Artemis 1 is the debut flight of the 322-foot-tall (98 meters) SLS, which is more powerful than the Saturn V, the iconic rocket that blasted Apollo spacecraft toward the moon a half-century ago.

This weekend’s launch will also be the first for NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to establish a permanent, sustainable human presence on and around the moon by the end of the 2020s.

Artemis 1 will send an uncrewed Orion capsule to lunar orbit and back. The main goal is to show that SLS and Orion are ready to start carrying astronauts, which they’ll start doing on 2024’s Artemis 2 mission around the moon, if all goes according to plan.

Eddie Vedder cancels Pearl Jam concert due to throat damage from extreme weather | Pearl Jam

Eddie Vedder, frontman with rock band Pearl Jam, has suffered damage to his throat and attributed it to extreme weather conditions in France this week.

Pearl Jam performed at the Lollapalooza Paris festival on Sunday, where temperatures reached a mid-afternoon high of 36C (96.8F).

They cancelled a concert in Vienna on Wednesday, stating: “Due to the extreme circumstances at the last outdoor site, outside of Paris (heat, dust, and smoke from the fires) our singer Ed Vedder’s throat was left damaged. He has seen doctors and had treatment but as of yet, his vocal cords have not recovered. This is brutal news and horrible timing … for everyone involved.”

They added that they were “deeply sorry” and that refunds would be offered.

Forest fires broke out in the south-western Gironde region of France last week. Nearly 40,000 people have been evacuated from their homes, with over 20,000 hectares of land burned.

Smoke from the fires has reached Paris, where meterologist Sébastien Léas told Franceinfo: “The sky is cloudy, a little hazy, and you can smell burning.”

Paris’s police force wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “It is possible you can sense an odour of burning … this smell is definitely coming from the fires which are striking across France. The reason? The changeability of the wind. Do not clog up emergency phone lines. Do not call firefighters unless the presence of a fire has been proven.”

Pearl Jam’s next scheduled date is in Prague on Friday night, on a tour described in a five-star Guardian review as “a sensitive, subversive new vision for classic rock”.

Pearl Jam cancels show after Eddie Vedder’s voice damaged

Pearl Jam was forced to cancel a show in Vienna on Wednesday, after singer Eddie Vedder’s famous voice was damaged during a performance in France. The band — and the audience — at the show had to contend with air affected by the nearby wildfires, which have been fueled by climate change, that have raged there for more than a week.

“To all those who were anticipating a great Pearl Jam show tonight in Vienna, we were too,” the band posted on social media. “However, due to the extreme circumstances at the last outdoor site outside of Paris (heat, dust, and smoke from the fires) our singer Ed Vedder’s throat was left damaged. He has seen doctors and had treatment but as of yet, his vocal cords have not recovered. This is brutal news and horrible timing….for everyone involved. Those who work so hard to put on the shows as well as those who give their precious time and energies to attend….”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees promised refunds to ticket holders.

“As a band, we are deeply sorry and have tried to find options to still play. And Ed wants to play. There’s just no throat available at this time… So very, very deeply sorry. Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Thank you for understanding.”

According to their official website, Pearl Jam played 22 songs, including hits “Even Flow” and “Jeremy,” on Sunday at Lollapalooza Paris. A$AP Rocky and Imagine Dragons were two of the other performers at the festival.

The band made headlines earlier this month when video surfaced of Vedder kicking a fan out of one of their shows for resorting to violence. The rocker stopped the music when he saw a woman hit a man in the head and told her he’d seen exactly what happened.

Pearl Jam’s next scheduled concert is on Friday in Prague, after which they plan to move on to Amsterdam for two nights, beginning on July 24, and then kick off the North American leg of their tour in Quebec City, Canada on Sept. 1.

Pearl Jam lets fan fill in for Matt Cameron on drums

(Credit: Wikimedia Commons)

Music

On Thursday night, Pearl Jam took the stage for a rousing three-hour set at the Oakland Arena in Oakland, California. This lineup of Pearl Jam, however, had never been seen before. That’s because longtime drummer Matt Cameron missed his first show since taking over the throne back in 1998.

In Cameron’s place, touring guitarist and former Red Hot Chili Peppers member Josh Klinghoffer stepped behind the kit for a number of songs while Seattle drummer and frequent collaborator of bassist Jeff Ament, Richard Stuverud, played the rest of the concert. Although they had some professionals holding down the kit, Pearl Jam also let a fan named Josh Arroyo sit in for the show’s final song, ‘Yellow Ledbetter’.

The show began with Eddie Vedder taking the stage solo to perform two covers, ‘The Needle and the Damage Done’ by Neil Young and ‘I Won’t Back Down’ by Tom Petty. As just the fifth concert on the band’s ‘Gigaton’ tour, Pearl Jam debuted a number of classic songs for their first time during this current trek Thursday night, including ‘Animal’ and their covers of ‘You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away’ by The Beatles, ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’ by Neil Young, and ‘Baba O’Riley’ by The Who.

“Matt Cameron is a true artist and he’s a force of nature,” Eddie Vedder told the crowd at one point. “However, even his superhero status could not prevent him from testing positive. This damn COVID thing yesterday. We’ve been scrambling for 24 hours because after 25 months of… We were supposed to be here 25 months ago. We’ve been waiting and we’ve been waiting. Postponing wasn’t an option and for us, neither was cancelling.”

“We didn’t want to pull the plug and we couldn’t pull the plug,” Vedder continued. “We’ve got our group here, we’ve got our equipment here and, most importantly, you’re here. So, lucky for us, we have some friends, and one of our friends has already been on our team this tour — the multi-talented, multi-faceted, multi-instrumentalist playing behind the drum kit right now, Mr. Josh Klinghoffer. “

Vedder even got a solid baseball reference in, giving Klinghoffer props for being, “Like the Shohei Ohtani of rock ‘n’ roll. Let’s let the shit hit the fan and hopefully it’s good shit.”

Check out Klinghoffer playing the kit on ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’, Stuverud taking the throne for ‘Baba O’Riley’, and Arroyo blasting out ‘Yellow Ledbetter’ down below.

Members of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden form new band 3rd Secret, drop surprise album

A cohort of Seattle’s pre-2000 grunge icons – including Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil and Pearl Jam/Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron – have formed a new supergroup called 3rd Secret, and, without having announced it beforehand, dropped their debut album yesterday (April 11).

A self-titled affair, the 11-track effort sports a broad tonal palette – it leans heavily on classic grunge and alt-rock flavours, but adds diversity with hints of laidback folk and indie-rock, swampy blues and stomping hard-rock.

Tracks like ‘Dead Sea’ and ‘Winter Solstice’ make impressive use of twangy, melancholy acoustics, while the use of an accordion on ‘Right Stuff’ adds a unique sense of theatricality. ‘Diamond In The Cold’, on the other hand, is a crunchy, mosh-primed rock anthem, with songs like ‘I Choose Me’ and ‘Lies Fade Away’ embracing the epochal ‘90s grunge sound that 3rd Secret’s members built their legacies on.

Have a listen to the full album below:

Alongside Novoselic, Thayil and Cameron, 3rd Secret is rounded out by guitarist Jon ‘Bubba’ Dupree (best known for his work in ‘80s hardcore outfit Void, as well as the alt-metal supergroup Hater, which also featured Cameron) and singers Jillian Raye (who Novoselic also plays with as part of Giants In The Trees) and Jennifer Johnson.

Recording for the album was split between three sessions, all of which featured involvement from longtime Nirvana and Soundgarden collaborator Jack Endino. In addition to mixing the full release and engineering three tracks, Endino aided Nate Yaccino in recording five of the tracks, and Erik Friend in recording the other three.

Friend also performed synth on ‘Dead Sea’ and ‘Rhythm Of The Ride’, while Martin Link filled in for Cameron on the tracks ‘Live Without You’ and ‘Right Stuff’.

The album was released independently, and at the time of writing, is only available to buy digitally on Amazon and stream through Spotify and YouTube. It’ll be available to stream on Apple Music soon, 3rd Secret confirmed on their website, though they’re yet to share any details of a potential release on physical formats.

Novoselic first teased the existence of 3rd Secret back in February, sharing in a since-deleted tweet that he was “really busy trying to finish a record” and “in the middle of some hangups”. At the time, it was slated for release in mid-March.
