The Met Gala 2022 was filled with A-list celebrities dressed in their best for fashion’s biggest night of the year.

And while they certainly didn’t show it on the red carpet, some of the stars attending the lavish event in New York City were actually involved in an awkward ‘love square’ scenario.

Euphoria star Jacob Elordi, 24, arrived solo after previously attending the 2021 Met Gala afterparty with his ex-girlfriend Kaia Gerber, 20.

However, the couple – who went public with their romance in November 2020 – split just two months later in November 2021, with Kaia moving on with hunky actor Austin Butler, 30, weeks later.

She and Austin have since confirmed their romance, and ramped up the PDA on the red carpet this year while Jacob posed alone.

Jacob and Kaia are believed to have ended their romance amicably, with The Kissing Booth actor telling Men’s Health in December 2021: ‘She handles herself wonderfully publicly. 

‘I’ve learned so much from her about how to handle it, how to deal with it and just kind of be whatever about it, you know?’

Meanwhile, Austin famously dated High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens, 33, for almost nine years before the pair called it quits in late 2019.

Vanessa was also in attendance at the 2022 Met Gala, posing alone in a jaw-dropping lace ensemble which showed off her figure to perfection.

She is now dating Cole Tucker, going Instagram official with the US baseball player in November 2020.

Despite some potentially awkward run-ins, Jacob, Kaia, Austin and Vanessa were all dripping with confidence as they posed up a storm on the red carpet.

Kaia, who is the daughter of Cindy Crawford, worked the iconic staircase of the Metropolitan Museum Of Art like it was a runway as she posed up a storm in her elaborate gown.

The beauty truly embraced this year’s theme – ‘gilded glamour’ – in a metallic lace frock which put her physique on full display.

The stunning gown cascaded down her statuesque body and towards the floor.

One person who definitely seemed to be a fan of how she looked was her boyfriend Austin, who looked utterly loved-up as the couple up for sweet photo.

Meanwhile, Jacob oozed sex appeal in a stunning black Burberry suit with sequin embellishments.

Jacob smouldered for the cameras on the red carpet, teaming his slick blazer and trousers with a crisp white shirt and black tie.

Vanessa’s ensemble boasted long-sleeves, which had puffy accents at the shoulders and stretched over her thumbs.

The bodice featured lace detailing that extended up to the look’s turtleneck neckline.

Her bottom half had a high-waisted skirt that highlighted her trim waistline and flowed out into a long, pleated train.
