Aaron Judge’s memorable night at Fenway Park on Tuesday also included a viral interaction with fan Cecilia Jacob.
During the Yankees’ 7-6 win over the Red Sox, when Judge recorded his 56th and 57th home runs of the season as he continues to chase Roger Maris’ AL record of 61, the 30-year-old outfielder high-fived Jacob near the dugout as she filmed the celebrations.
“Once he hit the home run, I immediately started filming,” the 19-year-old Jacob recalled to The Athletic. “We were all just screaming and so happy. We tried for the high-five the first time (Judge homered) and it didn’t come through, but then the second time he came through, and I just freaked out.”
Though Jacob’s chance encounter with Judge is now immortalized on her phone and online, it almost never came to be. Jacob’s seat belonged to the brother of her friend, Lucy Nuttall, just hours earlier. But when Nuttall’s sibling bowed out Monday, Jacob scored the seat instead.
Jacob, a Manhattan native attending Brown University, said she was in a state of “disbelief” after the moment with Judge.
“You see him come up to take the high-five,” she said of her own recording. “But when he goes to actually hit the high five, you don’t (see) it. But then you catch my hand after, like shaking, frozen in the air, because my hand stayed there for like five seconds after because I was in disbelief.”
Jacob wasn’t alone in that sentiment, as Yankees fans quickly took to social media on Tuesday to express their excitement over the exchange.
“Loved her face after the high five,” one fan commented on the YES Network’s Instagram page, while another remarked, “I have never. Ever. Been more jealous of a human being.”
Judge is now four homers away from tying Maris’ record of 61 home runs in a season. The Yankees will wrap their two-game series against the Red Sox on Wednesday night before heading to a Milwaukee.
LANGHORNE, Pa. (CBS) — On Wednesday morning, we’re hearing from a mother who posted a viral video that appears to show a character at Sesame Place snubbing two young Black girls. The video has well over 500,000 views.
And the mom who took it is now speaking out.

She said she couldn’t believe what happened at Sesame Place recently. The video appears to show an employee dressed up in character — and refusing to high-five two young Black children.
“The fact that this even happened, the fact that this is going to be a core memory for them when it comes to Sesame Place, it’s actually disgusting and unbelievable to me,” Jodi Brown said.
Brown says her daughter and niece were sad after what happened at Sesame Place, so she posted this video on Instagram on Saturday.
Brown said the character Rosita was walking a parade route, high-fiving and hugging other children, but intentionally ignored her daughter and her niece. She believes it was because of the color of their skin.
Sesame Place officials though are claiming it was a misunderstanding.
Brown just wants Sesame to take accountability for what happened.
“When I first posted the picture the following day, they sent me a message to call to speak to a manager, she was supposed to call me back, and I haven’t received a phone call back since the whole situation went viral,” Brown said.

Sesame Place is claiming this was all a misunderstanding, and that the performer inside the Rosita costume is devastated by the controversy.
Officials from Sesame Place say the motion Rosita can be seen making is her actually turning down another mom, who wanted her infant picked up, which is not permitted.
Sesame Place acknowledged Tuesday it’s aware of the incident, saying in a statement it’s “taking actions to do better.”
“We sincerely apologize to the family for their experience in our park on Saturday; we know that it’s not OK. We are taking actions to do better. We are committed to making this right,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “We will conduct training for our employees so they better understand, recognize and deliver an inclusive, equitable and entertaining experience to our guests. For over 40 years Sesame Place has worked to uphold the values of respect, inclusion and belonging. We are committed to doing a better job making children and families feel special, seen and included when they come to our parks.”
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street and licensed partner of Sesame Place, called what happened “unacceptable” and instructed Sesame Place workers to undergo bias training.

“Sesame Workshop is aware of the recent incident at Sesame Place Philadelphia, which we take very seriously. What these children experienced is unacceptable. We have been in contact with Sesame Place, our licensed park partner, and they have assured us that they will conduct bias training and a thorough review of the ways in which they engage with families and guests,” Sesame Workshop wrote in a tweet. “As a global nonprofit education organization with a mission to help children grow smarter, stronger and kinder. Sesame Workshop has always stood for respect, inclusion and belonging and is committed to providing the highest quality engaging experiences for all children and families. We hold our partners to the same high standards. We will continue working with our long-term partner Sesame Place to ensure that appropiate actions are taken and that incidents like this do not happen in the future.”
Sesame Place also said the organization has apologized to the families and invited them back to meet all of the characters.

If you want a high-five from Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant, you need to be wearing the correct jersey. On Tuesday at FexExForum, during the Grizzlies game against the Golden State Warriors, Morant denied a kid in the crowd a high-five because he was wearing the opponent’s jersey.
As he headed into the stands to celebrate an and-1 layup that punctuated his 29-point night, a young fan in a Warriors’ Steph Curry jersey reached out for Morant, who did not oblige and just stared at the hand before heading back to the court.

After the game, Morant explained why he did not high-five the Warriors fan, explaining that he shows no mercy for the opposing fans, even if they are just a kid.
Morant said, laughing:
“He was disrespectful with that jersey on. We in Memphis. He looked like he wanted to cheer, but he had that jersey on. I apologize to him. But in that moment, bro, take the jersey off and then dap me up.”
Morant did add that he would rather see the kid in a Memphis jersey and if anyone can find the fan’s information he will send him one himself. The next game the fan attends he could get the high-five he’s been waiting for, just as long as he is in the right colors.
The Grizzlies’ star also tweeted about what happened, explaining that he was too focused on the game to acknowledge the child.
He wrote, “sorry im just too [locked] in .. on another level,” adding, “need them in a [M]emphis jersey too lol. need their info.”
The Grizzlies defeated the Warriors 116-108 to secure their 10th win in a row.

After Jones found Rhamondre Stevenson for a touchdown during the Patriots’ final preseason game against the New York Giants, the rookie was getting high-fived going down the sideline. He appeared to miss giving Newton a high-five and the veteran quarterback stayed close to make sure he got what he wanted.
“I didn’t hear him or see him, and then I was like, ‘Oh, my bad,’” Jones told reporters after the game, via the team’s website. “That’s Cam for you. He’s happy and he’s a great teammate. I’m happy to be in the same room and just learn from him because he’s a great dude.”

Jones got most of the snaps against the Giants. He finished 10-for-14 with 156 passing yards and the touchdown pass to Stevenson. The Patriots won the game, 22-20.
Bill Belichick declined to say whether he was ready to name a starting quarterback.
“No, we still have a lot of decisions to make,” Belichick said.
