‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Ellen Pompeo pens goodbye note to fans after 19 seasons: ‘Eternally grateful’

Ellen Pompeo said Thursday she is “eternally grateful and humbled” by the “love and support” from “Grey’s Anatomy” fans in an emotional goodbye note as she prepares to exit the show after 19 seasons.

Pompeo is one of only three original cast members remaining on the drama series about the work and lives of doctors at a hospital in Seattle that premiered in 2005. Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. are the other two.

I am eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support you have all shown me, Meredith GREY and the show for 19 seasons!” Pompeo posted on Instagram along with a photo of her casually dressed in front of a neon sign that says, “All you need is Love.”

She continued, “Through it all….none of it …would have been possible without the best fans in the world. You all are RIDERS and you all have made the ride so fun and ICONIC!!”

She also assured fans she wouldn’t be a stranger at Grey Sloan Memorial.

“I love you madly and appreciate you right back,” she added. “This isn’t your first time on the rollercoaster… you know the show must go on and I’ll definitely be back to visit. With a lot of love and immense gratitude XoE.”

Pompeo’s last episode will air in February. Her note came a week after the show’s fall finale.

Through her nearly two decades on the show, Pompeo’s character has been through her share of ups and downs, including going from an intern to Chief of General Surgery at the hospital and marrying fellow doctor Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) only to have him die in a car crash in the 11th season.

The actress also thanked “Queen” Shonda Rhimes after the show’s creator posted her own note on Pompeo’s exit.

“What a wild ride these past 19 seasons have been,” Rhimes, who left the show in 2017, wrote on her Instagram. “None of it could have been possible without the incomparable @ellenpompeo, the one and only Meredith Grey. This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a see ya later! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Ellen, Meredith and Grey Sloan Memorial. #greysanatomy.”

Myles Garrett ruled out for Week 4 after scary car crash, says he’s ‘grateful’ to be alive

The Cleveland Browns officially ruled out defensive end Myles Garrett for Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons, the team announced Saturday morning. He was originally listed as questionable four days after he was involved in a one-car accident on Monday afternoon. Garrett suffered a shoulder sprain, biceps strains as well as minor lacerations, bumps and bruises from the crash.

Garrett spoke for the first time since the accident on Friday, where he described the incident as “a hell of an event” and that he was “grateful to be here.”

Police issued Garrett a citation for speeding and failing to control his vehicle after reports say Garrett drove his Porsche off the west side of an Ohio roadway Monday afternoon, hit a ditch and a fire hydrant and flipped the car before coming to a stop.

He was reportedly driving 65 miles-per-hour in a 45-mph zone. Garrett said he swerved to avoid an animal and then “overcorrected” on a wet road that caused the car to flip. He and a female passenger — who reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries — were taken to a local hospital before they were both released Monday night.

The Browns confirmed most of this news on Tuesday.

This was not the first time Garrett was cited for speeding. Garrett has been issued five speeding tickets over the past four years, according to cleveland.com, and eight since 2017. This includes a citation for driving 120 mph in a 70-mph zone and 99 mph in a 70-mph zone over a two-day period in 2021.

Garrett did say Friday that he should slow down more when driving.

“I gotta be smart overall with driving,” Garrett added. “Don’t take it for granted. Be grateful that I’m able to still be here.”

Garrett has tallied three sacks, four tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits and a forced fumble in three games this season for the Browns. He was drafted No. 1 overall by Cleveland in 2017 out of Texas A&M.

Why Sarah Michelle Gellar Is “Grateful” NBC Didn’t Do ‘Cruel Intentions’ Reboot – Deadline

Sarah Michelle Gellar is opening up about the Cruel Intentions reboot NBC passed on and why she’s grateful the pilot was not picked up to series.

The peacock network gave it a pilot order in February 2016 but announced in October of that same year that it was not moving forward with the show. Gellar had signed on to reprise her role of Kathryn Merteuil but ultimately felt the new take didn’t live up to the 1999 film.

“That was a whole crazy time,” she told the New York Times. “Nothing against NBC, but Cruel Intentions is straight streaming. On the first day, I was like, ‘This isn’t working.’ It’s just not a network show. And if it is a network show, it’s not my Cruel Intentions. So, I was actually grateful.”

The Cruel Intentions reboot would’ve taken place more than 15 years after the film left off with Merteuil (Gellar) vying for control of Valmont International as well as the soul of Bash Casey, the son of her late brother, Sebastian Valmont, and Annette Hargrove. Upon discovering his late father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined.

Fox had previously taken a stab at a television version of the film with Manchester Prep, a prequel series. The show shot three episodes that never made it to air and were then recut into a direct-to-video release called Cruel Intentions 2.

In October 2021, it was announced that IMDb TV was working on an updated version of the movie based on the novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Choderlos de Laclos but this time set in the world of politics.

Jennifer Garner cheeses with ’13 Going on 30’ co-star Judy Greer in glowing selfie: ‘Grateful’

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Jennifer Garner is showing love to her longtime pal Judy Greer.

The “Adam Project” star, 49, said as much Thursday when she shared a photo of herself smiling ear-to-ear with her “13 Going on 30” costar, 46, and praised the time she and Greer enjoyed together.

“I am grateful for a walk with a girlfriend, always. (Especially this one. I love JG)” Garner wrote in an Instagram Story post.

In the selfie, both performers appear in their natural beauty amid a bright blue sky backdrop.

The 2004 comedy sees Garner as 13-year-old Jenna – who wakes up one day in the body of herself at age 30. Greer plays Lucy in the film which also stars Mark Ruffalo and Andy Serkis.

Ruffalo and Garner also recently reunited for their Netflix film “The Adam Project,” which is now streaming.

JENNIFER GARNER SHARES SOME FRUSTRATIONS SHE’S EXPERIENCED AS A MOM: ‘SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO WALK AWAY’

Greer said last year in an interview with Insider that Garner was a “really great leader” who “never complained” during their time filming the coming of age slapstick.

“Meeting her was a treat. Who can ever say enough about her? She’s literally like what everyone says, like the greatest of all time,” Greer raved of Garner. “She was never late to work. She was professional, but she was also crazy fun and, obviously, so talented. When you have someone like that as No. 1 on the call sheet, you really can’t complain about anything. Like, you’re an a–h— if you do.”

Despite the fact that Greer and Garner’s characters were often at odds in “13 Going on 30,” Greer said because of Garner’s lively personality, she at times felt it difficult to deliver her putdowns once the cameras started rolling.

“I remember being mean to her in scenes and then after a cut just being like, ‘Ugh, I’m so sorry,’” Greer recollected. “And then sometimes I remember we would be in the middle of a scene, and they would cut, and she would just be like, ‘You’re so mean!'”

The “Alias” alum shares son Samuel, 10, and daughters Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13, with her ex-husband Ben Affleck.
