Jason Momoa and Eiza Gonzalez have split after months of dating: ‘They are in different life stages’

Jason Momoa and Eiza Gonzalez have split after months of dating: ‘They are in different life stages’

Jason Momoa and Eiza Gonzalez have called it quits after months of quietly dating.

A major contributing factor to their breakup is reportedly that the Aquaman star, 42, and Ambulance actress, 32, are ‘just very different people.’

‘They love each other very much having dated quietly for some time before it became public,’ an insider told People. ‘They are in different life stages.’

It’s over: Jason Momoa and Eiza Gonzalez have called it quits after months of quietly dating

Still, the source revealed that the former lovebirds were ‘hoping they might work it out’ and had been dating exclusively since they were introduced in February.

Momoa split with his estranged wife Lisa Bonet after 16 years together in January of this year.

Lisa, 54, and Jason were married for five years and welcomed two children before they announced their split to the world.

They tried: Still, the source revealed that the former lovebirds ‘hoping they might work it out’ and had been dating exclusively since they were introduced in February

Rebound: Momoa’s romance with Gonzalez marked his first relationship since the end of his marriage to Lisa Bonet after 16 years together

Multiple People insiders recently confirmed the Braven actor struck up a romance with Gonzalez, though one source noted: ‘It’s nothing serious yet.’

‘They are dating. He cares about her. He’s in a great place, working on Fast X. He’s quite busy and he’s in a good place,’ a source told the outlet.

To hear another insider tell it: ‘They’re both busy with work but are having fun together. It’s nothing serious yet.’

Although Lisa and Jason first became a couple in 2005, they waited until 2017 to marry, tying the knot at an intimate secret wedding.

Jason and Lisa announced their separation jointly this January in a co-written statement he posted to his Instagram page.

‘We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring,’ they wrote.

‘The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become,’ the statement added, noting: ‘Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children.’

Jason Momoa ‘rebounding with Eiza Gonzalez’ following shock split from wife Lisa Bonet

Jason Momoa is reportedly rebounding with Eiza Gonzalez months after announcing his shock split from his wife Lisa Bonet.

Lisa, 54, and Jason, 42, were together for 16 years and welcomed two children before they revealed in January that they had decided to divorce.

Now multiple People insiders are claiming he has struck up a romance with Eiza, 32, though one source said: ‘It’s nothing serious yet.’

Jason was spotted over a month ago posing solo for the cameras while attending the premiere of Eiza’s latest film Ambulance.

‘They are dating. He cares about her. He’s in a great place, working on Fast X. He’s quite busy and he’s in a good place,’ a source told the outlet.

There he is: Jason was spotted over a month ago posing solo for the cameras while attending the premiere of Eiza’s latest film Ambulance

Reports circulated that Jason had begun living in a $750k RV he had used in the past for location shoots and customized with such amenities as a kingsize mattress.

He was said to have parked the RV at the home a friend whose lived near Jason’s marital home with Lisa, where she was staying with the children.

Not long after the split was announced, a source informed People that Jason and Lisa’s marriage fell apart ‘because of different focuses.’

The insider spilled that Jason’s ‘career is booming’ with the result that ‘he wants to keep working as much as he can,’ while Lisa ‘enjoys her life in LA’ and had ‘no interest’ in traveling with him to ‘every location.’

Smoldering sensation: Eiza is pictured at the premiere of Ambulance, where she was not snapped hobnobbing with Jason

Conjecture swirled in March that Jason and Lisa were giving the marriage another try, with the speculation going into overdrive after she was spotted wearing his ring.

However by the end of the month Jason assured Access that ‘we’re not back together,’ though he added that he and Lisa are ‘family forever.’

A few years ago in 2018, Eiza had a whirlwind relationship with movie dreamboat Josh Duhamel, who had recently split from his wife Fergie.

She then enjoyed a summer romance in 2020 with Timothee Chalamet not long after his breakup with Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp.

The way they were: Jason and Lisa announced their separation jointly this January in a co-written statement he posted to his Instagram; they are pictured at the 2019 Oscars

Streamers Aren’t Liking Twitch’s Potential Money Making Idea

It’s a bold move Twitch, let’s see if it pays off.

Twitch is reportedly considering major changes to the monetization practices that streamers are upset about because the potentially lopsided percentages work out to pad Twitch’s bottom line.

According to a Bloomberg report, Amazon, Twitch’s parent company, is considering multiple changes to its partner program in order to boost its profits. These changes include a new revenue split from subscriptions, a new tier system, and bolstering advertisements.

One of the monetization changes under consideration is a revenue cut from subscriptions for partnered streamers, Twitch’s most popular streamers. The proposed cut would decrease the revenue partnered streamers make from subscriptions from 70% to 50%.

Another proposal Twitch is considering is adding a tiers system for partnered streamers. According to Bloomberg, these tiers detail the criteria a streamer must meet to receive 50% or 70% of revenue from their subscription. In exchange to this proposal, anonymous sources told Bloomberg that Twitch might release streamers from their exclusivity in their contracts, which will allow them to stream on Twitch’s competitor sites like YouTube and Facebook Gaming potentially to recoup any cut revenue.

Twitch is also reportedly considering incentives for more advertising through “revenue-sharing arrangement,” that Bloomberg says will present “a more lucrative model for streamers.”

Twitch streamers haven’t taken kindly to the news of Twitch’s proposed changes to its partnership program. Twitch streamer PleasantlyTwstd told Kotaku that she isn’t surprised by Twitch exploring these changes. If changes hit the website this summer as they are now, PleasantlyTwstd said smaller streamers will have “little to no incentive” to grow their channels on the platform.

“Smaller streamers I think are going to have little to no incentive at this stage to really push for growth,” PleasantlyTwstd said. “It’s going to start feeling like to make a payout you have to hit more subs and the struggle at current is discoverability at all.”

PleasantlyTwstd said she would like to see streamers be brought into the conversation about Twitch’s monetization changes so they are advocated “in earnest.”

“Twitch has been kind of in a holding pattern where their priority is making the platform more money but until they actually try to work more closely with the people who make them money or freely create tools, they’re just going to keep throwing out ideas and ‘initiatives’ that fall flat,” she said.

Leftist streamer Hasan “Hasanabi” Piker took to Twitter saying the reason Twitch made these changes is due to the company not viewing itself as having competition within the livestreaming space, so there’s little reason to offer something that’s truly compelling for its users.

“[I] love twitch but it seems like they’re moving away from [content creators] to fix their profits,” Piker said in a tweet. “Nearly my entire revenue comes from subscribers who elect to give me $5 a month. Twitch doesn’t consider the 50/50 split it takes from smaller creators in that process profitable enough. That’s wild.”

“Subscriptions are more important to the life of every streamer than almost any other utility Twitch offers and to touch the split is to financially devastate and potentially remove thousands of full-time creators from your platform it immediately,” JERICHO said.

“What a joke. Makes it worse for everyone except Twitch themselves,” Jacksepticeye said.

“Twitch is INSANE if they think this will go over well,” Max “Gassy Mexican” Gonzalez said. “Like actually will shake the platform in the worst way possible.”

Kotaku reached out to Twitch for comment.

While these proposed changes are reported to hit the website as soon as this summer, anonymous sources told Bloomberg none of these changes have been finalized.

Fernando González, AP head of Caribbean news, dies in Cuba

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Fernando González, who spent decades covering and directing major stories for The Associated Press across Latin America, from papal visits to border skirmishes, hurricanes and hostage standoffs, has died in Havana.

González, 60, died at his home early Monday after suffering a heart attack, Cuba’s forensic medicine director said.

Gregarious and seemingly inexhaustible, González, known for his trademark long gray ponytail, was especially strong and compassionate in crisis situations, both covering the news and tirelessly organizing help when colleagues were ill or injured.

“Fernando represented the best of AP. He was a terrific journalist and loved the big stories,” said AP Executive Editor Julie Pace. “He was also a warm and caring colleague, someone whose impact was felt across all corners of the organization. He will be dearly missed.”

Born in Uruguay, González graduated from high school in Santiago, Chile, and then attended the University of Miami. He worked for a local radio station before eventually moving into news production, often freelancing for The Associated Press in Latin America.

González joined the AP full time in 2002 as senior producer for television news in Havana. He moved to Washington, D.C., in 2014 as regional video editor for Latin America and the Caribbean and then to Mexico City as the AP’s deputy news director for the region in 2016. González returned to Cuba in 2020 as news director for the Caribbean and Andes.

Among the major stories he covered were the 1996 hostage siege at the Japanese ambassador’s residence in Peru, Hurricane Mitch’s devastating impact on Central America in 1998, and the 2004 coup that overthrew Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.

In 2007 González reported from Antarctica on the visit of U.N Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

González also covered three papal trips to Cuba by St. John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, as well as President Barack Obama’s historic visit in 2016 and the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro later that year.

Anita Snow, who reopened AP’s Havana bureau in 1999 after a nearly 30-year absence, praised González as “a great journalist,” calling him, “an even better human being: warm, generous and consistently kind.”

“And he probably knew Latin America better than anyone,” said Snow, who worked with González in Cuba and Mexico. She is currently an AP writer in Phoenix.

Chris Gillette, senior video producer for the AP in Brazil and a high school classmate of González, agreed.

“He was a really good people person, and very charming, so he was able to get into places others might find challenging — a true raconteur, amiable and smart,” Gillette said.

Nico Maounis, head of special news events for AP’s broadcast services, recalled Gonzalez as the consummate deal broker, gaining the AP access to everyone from presidents and other high officials to the simple man on the street.

“What was he like as a person? He was outgoing, he was cosmopolitan, he was funny, he was a diplomat, he was serious, a comic and a joker. He was everything,” Maounis said.

Longtime AP photographer Enric Marti summed up González’s compassion for those less fortunate, noting how he continued to patronize his favorite Mexico City restaurant, Lucille, even during the pandemic when others stayed away, tipping the waiters handsomely.

“He kept going and raised money for the waiters. … They basically had no tips and no money,” said Marti, AP’s deputy director of photography/global enterprise. “Whenever I was in town we would meet in Lucille. It was Fernando’s bar.”

González is survived by his wife Lisa, children Maria Linda and Nicolas, and three grandchildren, as well as his parents.
