Mr Beast Extreme Survival Challenge Fortnite leaderboard

Fortnite is one of the most popular live-service games in the world right now thanks to its inclusion of popular creators and brands from the real world. It surprised many earlier this month when it was announced that MrBeast would be getting his own competition, but not in Competitive, instead in the Creative mode. What’s even more, is that the prize for winning is a cool million dollars.

With tens of thousands of users participating in the competition, many are curious about how far their scores are from the top. Here’s all the information you need to know about the current leaderboard for MrBeast’s Extreme Survival Challenge in Fortnite.

Who’s winning the MrBeast competition in Fortnite?

According to FortniteTracker, a tool that compiles data across all of Fortnite‘s modes, here are the top 10 competitors of Mr. Beast’s Extreme Survival Challenge as of 2.07pm CT.

Rank Player Points Matches Wins Avg. Place
1 Anas 142,099 14 10 1.86
2 De_Tibbe 140,598 17 10 2.76
3 Dave 3I 140,593 19 12 3
4 favs 139,770 20 11 4.5
5 MrKeroro10 L2R2 139,667 13 12 2
6 hiimtylerh 139,492 12 10 1.58
7 Lazar 139,404 18 13 2.61
8 trippernn 137,836 15 10 4.53
9 ALTAIR 137,573 12 8 3.33
10 GONNE.EXE 137,424 15 11 2.07

The player that’s currently winning is GUILD Anas, a player also known for his skills in other Competitive game modes. It was unclear if he’ll be able to keep the lead though, with fewer than 5,000 points separating himself from the second and third-place competitors. However, with the competition now at an end, it seems Anas may have won.

Fortnite Competitive also tweeted out that players who want to earn the umbrella will need around 83,000 Score at least to earn the Mr. Beast Umbrella.

Parents file lawsuit saying their kids are addicted to Fortnite

A lawsuit has been filed in Canada by parents who say their kids are addicted to the video game Fortnite.

A Canadian Supreme Court judge authorized the filing by Quebec parents against Fortnite’s manufacturer Epic Games.

Parents say their kids are so addicted that they don’t take care of regular everyday hygiene such as showering.

Some kids are so dependent on Fortnite, they’ve stopped eating and sleeping, according to BBC News and reported by Insider.

‘FORTNITE’ MAKER EPIC GAMES VALUED AT NEARLY $32 BILLION IN FUNDING ROUND

“The court concludes that there is a serious issue to be argued, supported by sufficient and specific allegations as to the existence of risks or even dangers arising from the use of Fortnite,” ruled Justice Sylvain Lussier.

An attorney from the firm that brought the suit equated the game’s maker, Epic Games, to a tobacco manufacturer in an interview, and said the legal responsibility was “basically the same.”

Lussier echoed the comparison of video game and tobacco addictions. “The harmful effect of tobacco was not recognized or admitted overnight,” he ruled.

However, the court didn’t agree with the parents’ claim that Epic Games deliberately made Fortnite addictive.

“The court finds that there is no evidence for these allegations of the deliberate creation of an addictive game,” the judge wrote. “This does not exclude the possibility that the game is in fact addictive and that its designer and distributor are presumed to know it.”

Epic Games denied the validity of the suit in a statement obtained by BBC.

WILL FORTNITE CONTINUE TO LEAD THE PACK?

“Parents can receive playtime reports that track the amount of time their child plays each week, and require parental permission before purchases are made,” the company said.

“We plan to fight this in court. We believe the evidence will show that this case is meritless.”

Canadian court decides class-action lawsuit against Fortnite can proceed

A Canadian court has approved a class-action lawsuit against the creators of Fortnite, Epic Games.

We first reported that the Canadian legal firm was preparing a class-action lawsuit against Epic Games back in 2019. It accused the developer of “knowingly” creating the “very, very addictive game”, Fortnite, but had been in limbo ever since as the court assessed whether or not the case could proceed.

Now, however, it seems the court agrees with the plaintiff that the claim “does not appear to be frivolous or manifestly ill-founded” and, according to CTV News, just because there’s “no certainty” that Epic created an “addictive” game it “does not preclude the possibility that the game is in fact addictive and that its creator and distributor are presumed to know this”.

Eurogamer Newscast: What did we think of The Game Awards 2022? The good, the bad, and the Keighley.

“Epic Games, when they created Fortnite, for years and years, hired psychologists – they really dug into the human brain and they really made the effort to make it as addictive as possible,” Alessandra Esposito Chartrand, an attorney with Calex Légal, said at the time. “They knowingly put on the market a very, very addictive game which was also geared toward youth.”

Likening the case to the 2015 class-action suit against tobacco companies that saw the Quebec Superior Court ruling determine tobacco companies didn’t do enough to warn their customers about the dangers of smoking, Chartrand believes Epic knew Fortnite was “as addictive as possible” and failed in their duty to warn players of the risk of addiction. Consequently, the legal challenge is “very centred on the duty to inform”.

The legal notice – which was initially filed on behalf of the parents of two minors, who had been aged 10 and 15 at the time, although other parents have since joined the lawsuit – also drew on the decision of the World Health Organisation to list gaming disorder as a disease.

“In our case, the two parents that came forward and told [us], ‘If we knew it was so addictive it would ruin our child’s life, we would never have let them start playing Fortnite or we would have monitored it a lot more closely’,” Chartrand added.

To play the game, users must surrender their right to sue the company as part of its terms of use and instead go through individual arbitration, but Chartrand believes the terms of service “don’t stand up in court in Quebec because the province’s Consumer Protection Act requires companies to clearly disclose risks associated with products or services”.

“The Court is of the opinion that the facts alleged with respect to the plaintiffs’ children make it possible to claim, if we put them in relation to the statements of certain experts with respect to the creation of an addiction to video games, and more particularly to Fortnite, that the plaintiffs have a valid product liability claim against the defendants,” the recent ruling states. “The claim does not appear to be frivolous or manifestly ill-founded.”

“There’s something about Fortnite that is completely unique. There are no other games that have therapy centres dedicated to players of that game,” Chartrand says.

Epic has 30 days to appeal the judgement.

“We have industry-leading Parental Controls that empower parents to supervise their child’s digital experience,” Epic spokesperson Natalie Munoz told PC Gamer. “Parents can receive playtime reports that track the amount of time their child plays each week, and require parental permission before purchases are made, so that they can make the decisions that are right for their family. We have also recently added a daily spending limit by default for players under the age of 13.

“We plan to fight this in court. This recent decision only allows the case to proceed. We believe the evidence will show that this case is meritless.”

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 Adds The Hulk, Geralt, Doom Slayer, and Next-Gen Unreal Engine 5 Features

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has officially arrived and promises to add The Hulk, The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia, Doom’s Doom Slayer, and next-gen graphics and features powered by Unreal Engine 5.1.

Fortnite’s latest chapter is taking players to a whole new realm and, alongside the previously mentioned additions, will also bring with it dirt bikes, the ability to roll in a snowball, a way to launch yourself into the sky and attack enemies with a Shockwave Hammer, a new hurdle mechanic, Reality Augments, and so much more.

As for the new Outfits that will be available in the Item Shop and Battle Pass, players will have a lot to look forward to. While The Hulk will join the Item Shop at a later date, the other characters will be part of the Battle Pass to unlock as the season progresses.

While Doom Slayer and Geralt of Rivia may be the highlights of the Battle Pass, players will also be able to unlock “Star of the Show” Selene, Massai, Dusty, Nezumi, Helsie, and The Ageless. The launch trailer for Chapter 4 Season 1 also teases that My Hero Academia’s Deku will be joining the fight soon as well.

The new next-gen Unreal Engine 5.1 features will usher in a “generational leap in visual fidelity, bringing an unprecedented level of detail to game worlds like the Battle Royale Island.” This will be done be using Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps, and Temporal Super Resolution on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and cloud gaming.

Nanite provides “highly-detailed architectural geometry,” Lumen provides “high-quality ray traced reflections on glossy materials and water,” Virtual Shadow Maps allow for “highly detailed shadowing,” and Temporal Super Resolution (TSR) allows for “high-quality visuals at a high framerate.”

Reality Augments are another way gameplay is changing and, at certain intervals in every game, players will be given a randomized choice of two of these boons. The longer you stay alive, the more Reality Augments you’ll earn and they will stick with you until the end.

Chapter 4 Season 1 will launch with 22 Reality Augments, and more will be added in the future. The already revealed augments are as follows;

  • Light Fingers: Makes your weapons using Light Ammo reload faster.
  • Mechanical Archer: Gives you a Mechanical Explosive Blow & Mechanical Shockwave Bow.
  • Aerialist: Grants you Glider redeploy for the rest of the match.
  • Supercharged: Your vehicles won’t consume fuel and they’ll have increased Health.
  • Soaring Sprints: While sprinting, you’ll be able to jump much higher — and jump with lower gravity.

There is so much more to learn about Chapter 4 Season 1, and players can check out the full Fortnite blog for all the changes, including some of the new weapons like the Ex-Caliber Rifle – a powerful, semi-automatic rifle that “fires a ballistic blade at your enemies… that detonates mere moments later.”

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 battle pass

The Chapter 4 Season 1 battle pass contains another eight characters, V-Bucks, and dozens of other cosmetics to earn as you play through the season. Fortnite loves a crossover, and this season is no different with The Witcher’s Geralt of Rivia making his debut on the island, as is the Doomslayer from Doom. We’re actively capturing images of every battle pass reward in the game, and you can find a full rundown here.

Fortnite Chapter 4 weapons

Typically, a new chapter means a major loot pool overhaul, and that’s true again in Chapter 4 Season 1. This season, Fortnite introduces new weapons including two new shotguns–time will tell which one fans prefer You can find a full breakdown of all the new loot and weaponry right here.

Fortnite Chapter 4 map

Maybe the most exciting part of a new Fortnite chapter is the new map. The Chapter 4 map brings a complete makeover to the Fortnite landscape, including the introduction of motorcycles, but it’s not without some nods to past maps that longtime players may enjoy stumbling upon. For a full look at the new map, check here for our tour guide.

Exotic and Mythic weapons

The best guns in each season are the Exotics and Mythics. Exotics are sold by NPCs and Mythics are dropped by hostile NPCs when they’re defeated. We’re now searching the island for all of these, so you’ll find our guide here shortly.

Kinetic Ore

This new resource can be used by crafty players to get the advantage in showdowns with other players. We’re building out a complete guide on how to find and use Kinetic Ore.

Augments system

A new Fortnite perks system, called Augments, that doles out gameplay buffs is coming with Chapter 4, and we’re building out a guide to break it all down for you. Things like faster reloads, faster sprinting, and more are available, and here’s how they work.

All NPC locations

Each season of Fortnite since Chapter 2 Season 5 has introduced new NPCs, often simply called “Fortnite characters” by Epic, roaming the island, and offering goods and services to players. We’re actively tracking down all Fortnite characters in Chapter 4 Season 1 and we’ll have a full map and list here shortly.

All fish locations

Just like you can finish off your character collection book, so too can you find every fish in the game. You’ll want to do this for a few reasons, including receiving their many buffs to things like health and shields, but also to compete with your friends to catch the biggest fish. Like with NPCs, we’re looking into all the fish and will have a guide linked here as soon as we can.

Zero Week challenges

Zero Week is a fairly new way that Epic handles launch week challenges in Fortnite. Rather than wait for Thursday to arrive and kick off with the Week 1 challenges, Zero Week challenges now give players a full extra slate of major XP gains to earn. We’ll be guiding you through these as soon as the servers come online, so check back here soon.
