Here are all six new Exotics in Destiny 2: Season of Plunder

A new Destiny 2 season means new Exotics, but Season of Plunder has added a surprise twist. In addition to usual Exotic armor pieces, seasonal Exotic, and raid Exotic, Guardians who pre-order the Lightfall Annual Pass will get a new Exotic auto rifle immediately. Usually, Expansion pre-order Exotics like Osteo Striga and No Time To Explain don’t arrive in-game until the expansion’s launch.

This seasonal update comes only hours after Bungie officially unveiled Lightfall and Season of Plunder in the 2022 Destiny 2 Showcase.

Here are the six new Exotics in Destiny 2: Season of Plunder, how to get them, and their perks.

Delicate Tomb – Arc fusion rifle

Image: Bungie via Polygon

The Delicate Tomb is in the season pass Exotic for Season of Plunder. Players who own the season pass will get it immediately, but free players can also pick it up after reaching season pass level 35.

Delicate Tomb’s Exotic perk is Traitor’s Vessel, which causes it to fire a wide horizontal spread when shot from the hip. Killing enemies has a chance to generate Ionic Traces, making it a powerful Exotic to pair with Arc 3.0. Killing opposing Guardians or powerful enemies guarantees Ionic Traces.

Delicate Tomb’s intrinsic perk is Tempest Cascade, which gives the weapon a buff whenever you pick up Ionic Trace, causing the next shot to Jolt targets.

Quicksilver Storm – Kinetic auto rifle

Quicksilver Storm is only available in Season of Plunder to players who pre-order the Lightfall Annual Pass, which is $99.99. This pass includes all of the Destiny content in 2023, including the Lightfall expansion, all four seasons, two new dungeons, and some exclusive cosmetics. If you buy the Annual Pass, you can pick up your Quicksilver Storm at Rahool in the Tower.

Quicksilver Storm’s Exotic perk is Rocket Tracers, which causes multiple hits from the auto rifle to generator a homing micro-rocket. The weapon’s intrinsic perk, Grenade Chaser, causes rocket hits to load grenades into the weapon. Holding the reload button causes Quicksilver Storm to enter grenade launcher mode.

Touch of Malice – Kinetic scout rifle

The Touch of Malice scout rifle currently isn’t viewable in the Collection, so it’s impossible to see its perks in-game. It will come from the King’s Fall raid, just like it did in the original Destiny.

Via Light.gg, Guardians can see the new Touch of Malice’s perks. Its main Exotic perk is Touch of Malice, which causes final rounds to drain the user’s life force in exchange for bonus damage. The intrinsic perk is Charged with Blight, which causes precision hits to drain enemy life force and charge up a ball of darkness, which you can fire via an alternate weapon action. The ball blinds and targets.

Fallen Sunstar – Warlock helmet

The new Warlock helmet Fallen Sunstar comes from the solo, daily-rotating Lost Sector.

Its Exotic perk is Ionic Conductor, which causes your Ionic Traces to move faster and grant more ability energy. Nearby allies also gain ability energy when you collect an Ionic Trace.

Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk – Hunter chest

The new Hunter chest Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk comes from the solo, daily-rotating Lost Sector.

Its Exotic perk is See Me, Feel Me, which gives you bonus weapon damage after emerging from invisibility. You and nearby allies will gain a reserve overshield and improved class ability regeneration if you Finish an enemy while you’re invisible. You can activate the reserve shields by using your class ability.

Point-Contact Cannon Brace – Titan arms

Image: Bungie via Polygon

The new Titan arms Point-Contact Cannon Brace come from the solo, daily-rotating Lost Sector.

Its Exotic perk is Hammer of the Gods, which causes targets defeated by your Thunderclap melee to restore melee energy. Enemies near you get struck by lightning while you’re charging Thunderclap.

Destiny 2’s season 17 will improve glaives and Exotics

Bungie launched one of its biggest Destiny 2-focused blogs in recent memory on Thursday. In nearly 9,000 words, the studio described some major weapon updates coming to its MMO on May 24, with the start of the currently unnamed season 17.

There are too many minute Destiny 2 changes to describe here, so we’re going to break down two of the biggest changes that will have the biggest impacts on players: glaive and Exotic changes.

Glaives have been weak since Bungie released them with its Witch Queen expansion in February. While exciting, they just don’t perform well in any difficult content. So Bungie is fixing that with some major updates.

First, Bungie clarified its intent. Glaive melees should contribute to damage perks and act as a standard melee. So a melee kill with the glaive should trigger the Swashbuckler perk, but only the ranged attack will get damage increases from perks. That’s the current plan, at least.

As for concrete improvements, next season PvE enemies will take 25% more damage from glaive melees, and shielding will cost 30% less energy than before. All glaive projectile speeds will also scale with the range stat, moving much faster than before. This should help them perform better in high end content, allowing players to use them as defensive tools that still pack a decent punch.

Moving onto Exotics, Bungie is giving major improvements to the Exotic glaives. The Edge of Action Titan glaive mini-bubble will give all players inside a Void overshield and will benefit from the Helm of Saint-14 Exotic effect, which blinds targets inside the shield. The Edge of Intent Warlock Exotic glaive’s healing turret will gain increased speed and acceleration. The Edge of Concurrence Exotic Hunter glaive’s damage is being tripled and it can now chain to eight enemies instead of four.

Image: Bungie

In terms of non-glaive Exotics, Bungie is making changes to:

  • Fighting Lion
  • Eyes of Tomorrow
  • Leviathan’s Breath
  • The Huckleberry
  • Xenophage
  • Le Monarque
  • Lorentz Driver
  • Skyburner’s Oath
  • The Last Word
  • Arbalest
  • Graviton Lance
  • Grand Overture
  • Coldheart
  • Prometheus Lens
  • Wavesplitter
  • Osteo Striga
  • Lord of Wolves

Many of these changes are simple buffs or nerfs to damage, but a few of them are getting sizable reworks.

Leviathan’s Breath, one of the worst Exotics in the game, is getting a 50% damage buff. It now also splits damage on detonation and impact, which will allow it to stun an Unstoppable Champion and then deal damage to it during the stun. The goal is for it to destroy Unstoppable Champions in high-end content, and this update is looking promising.

Eyes of Tomorrow, the raid Exotic from Deep Stone Crypt, is getting a 30% increase to boss and Champion damage. Arbalest, on the other hand, will deal 25% less to Champions due to how powerful it is in Grandmaster Nightfalls. Graviton Lance’s Catalyst will now give players Vorpal Weapon and Turnabout instead of Hidden Hand. Grand Overture will be able to fire a full missile barrage again by holding the trigger down, or shoot in five rocket bursts with a tap of the trigger.

The Skyburner’s Oath scout rifle is getting some significant improvements as well. The aimed shot is now hitscan (meaning it hits the enemy instantly) and both modes of the gun fire at 150 rounds per-minute. The hip-fire attack won’t track enemies anymore, but the shots will detonate in a wider radius and apply a burn to enemies. The gun also has increased range now, and the Masterwork grants increased reload speed.

The game’s first three Exotic trace rifles will also see some reworks — in addition to 20% increased trace rifle damage against non-red bar enemies. Coldheart now spawns Ionic Traces when dealing damage, which gives ability energy. Prometheus Lens will apply a “more useful burn,” which is a bit confusing, but might make more sense when Bungie eventually updates the Solar subclasses. Wavesplitter no longer oscillates between three power levels, and instead sits at the medium setting at all times. However, picking up an Orb of Power grants 10s (up to 20) turns it to the “max power” setting of old, which also suppresses targets.

This is just a fraction of Bungie’s blog, which focuses heavily on in-air combat for PvP, perks, and some ability changes. Bungie also revealed a host of Iron Banner, Trials, and Grandmaster Nightfall weapons that are going away in the next two seasons, and a system that will cause some playlist weapons to drop with additional perks the more players level up in playlists.

Of course, all of these changes will be present in what already promises to be a giant list of patch notes on May 24.

Where Is Xur Today? (Feb. 4-8) – Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotics Guide

There are only a few visits from Xur left in Destiny 2 before the launch of The Witch Queen, and you’re going to want to visit him to grab some new Exotics and Legendary weapons and armor. Bungie just detailed some huge weapons changes, which are going to make Exotics even more useful with the coming expansion. Here’s where you can find Xur this week and what’s in his inventory.

Head to the EDZ, to the Winding Cove area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering the Telesto fusion rifle. Hunters can pick up the Aeon Swift gauntlets; for Titans, there’s the Aeon Safe gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Phoenix Protocol chest armor.

Now Playing: Destiny 2 Where Is Xur and What is He Selling – February 4, 2022

Phoenix Protocol has been up quite a bit from Xur lately in the Exotics category, but this is still a pretty good roll if you’re a Warlock in need of an upgrade or to fill out your collection. The same is true of Aeon Swift for Hunters–it’s a fun Exotic to run with a fireteam, and has solid stats.

For Legendary weapons, the big standout of Xur’s offering is Tomorrow’s Answer, a rocket launcher normally only accessible from the Trials of Osiris. This isn’t an especially great roll, with Tracking Module, Thresh, and a Reload Masterwork, but if you’re not a PvP player, this is still a great opportunity to snag a Trials gun that can be tough to come by. The rest of Xur’s inventory is just okay, but you might want to pick up his True Prophecy hand cannon, which is still a PvP favorite and comes with Opening Shot, Elemental Capacitor, and a Reload Masterwork.

Xur’s Legendary armor offering is the Gensym Knight set, formerly only available on Io. There’s nothing major to look out for, though, with most of the armor being middling for all players. If you need something, Hunters should pay attention to Xur’s helmet, at a stat level of 63; Warlocks can get a set of boots at 64; and Titans can snag a set of gauntlets at 63.

Xur Location

Find Xur atop the cliff at the north end of Winding Cove in the EDZ.

Spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone in the EDZ to get to Xur this week. Hop on your sparrow and head north, moving left to get up on the collapsed overpass there. When you reach the sheer cliff ahead, look for a cave in the wall near the bend in the road. Hop inside and follow it to find Xur at the top of the cliff, where he’s standing next to a crashed Fallen dropship.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic Items

Xur’s weapon offering this week is Telesto, a fan favorite that often is responsible for breaking Destiny 2 with all kinds of weird bugs and glitches. It’s great for PvE or PvP activities, though, thanks to its sticky fusion rifle bolts that explode after a short delay. If you’re not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don’t already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it–so if you’re trying to get a new Titan helmet, don’t buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower’s Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram – 97 legendary shards
  • Telesto – 29 legendary shards
  • Aeon Swift – 23 legendary shards
  • Aeon Safe – 23 legendary shards
  • Phoenix Protocol – 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest – free
  • Legendary weapons and armor – 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer

Alongside changes in his location, Xur’s inventory also rotates weekly. That means it’s worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Telesto (Fusion Rifle)

Telesto triggers all sorts of weird bugs in Destiny 2, but in any event, it’s a lot of fun to use.

You’ll often see Telesto popping up in the Crucible to ruin your day. The fusion rifle fires the usual burst of energy bolts, but unlike with other fusions, these ones stick to their targets–or to walls and floors and anything else. They detonate after a short period of time, making them great for catching packs of enemies (or a couple of Guardians) together in one blast. Land multikills and Telesto will also reload both your equipped Kinetic and Special weapons in your holster. You’ll find plenty of use for Telesto in just about any activity, so add this one to your collection.

Aeon Swift (Hunter)

The Aeon gauntlets work best when you and your fireteam all wear them.

The Aeon family of Exotics convey a bunch of benefits to players who wear them, but they’re particularly effective if you equip them alongside other members of your fireteam who also use their brand of Aeon gauntlet. You can set a special mod that conveys benefits both to you and your teammates depending on which you select, and the benefits build up if you all wear Aeon gauntlets with different settings. The Aeon Exotics aren’t exactly meta, but their buffs shouldn’t be ignored, either–they can make your fireteam a more-effective unit. The roll on this version for Hunters is also worth considering.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 3
  • Resilience: 21
  • Recovery: 8
  • Discipline: 2
  • Intellect: 21
  • Strength: 10
  • Total: 65

Aeon Safe (Titan)

Titans get a less-cool version of the Aeon gauntlets this week, but this roll is also more-rounded.

The Titan version of the Aeon Exotic is also on sale with Xur this week, giving you and your buds a chance to deck out in complementary Exotic armor. Titans get a more even roll than Hunters do, but it’s a slightly less-good one. Still, it’s worth checking out how the gauntlets can compliment each other, especially as you prep for the Witch Queen’s new story campaign (and its Legendary difficulty option).

Stats:

  • Mobility: 14
  • Resilience: 4
  • Recovery: 16
  • Discipline: 13
  • Intellect: 10
  • Strength: 6
  • Total: 63

Phoenix Protocol (Warlock)

Phoenix Protocol is a great go-to for Warlocks, especially for high-level PvE content.

If you don’t have Phoenix Protocol, you should. This is one of the key Warlock Exotics for PvE content, especially some of the tougher activities. It gives you back Super energy whenever you get kills and assists while standing in your Well of Radiance, so you benefit from everyone using your Well and killing enemies. Phoenix Protocol gets you more Wells more often, which can help to keep your team alive in tough situations. This is also a very solid roll on this Exotic, so add it to your collection or upgrade if you need to.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 14
  • Resilience: 10
  • Recovery: 10
  • Discipline: 8
  • Intellect: 22
  • Strength: 2
  • Total: 66

Destiny 2 Season 15 Will Nerf Anarchy And Xenophage, Buff Some Other Exotics

Destiny 2’s upcoming Season 15 is ushering in a bunch of big changes to gameplay, including an array of balance updates to its weapons. Alongside these tweaks, Bungie is rolling out overhauls to a handful of Exotics–including nerfs to a couple of fan favorites.

The biggest nerf is coming to the Anarchy grenade launcher, a weapon that’s been a permanent part of many players’ raid loadouts. While Bungie wants to keep the gun powerful, the studio has tweaked it so that it can’t be as good for both boss damage and clearing minor enemies. Total ammunition is being dropped from 26 to 16 shots, while its boss damage is getting cut by 30%.

The Anarchy Exotic Grenade Launcher.

Anarchy’s not the only raid favorite to get a bit of a nerf. Bungie’s also rolling out changes to tone down Xenophage, the extremely popular Exotic machine gun. However, these tweaks are in response to Bungie’s planned buff to all machine guns, and they are designed to keep Xenophage close to its current effectiveness. Xenophage’s rate of fire will be cut from 120 rounds-per-minute to 90 RPM, and it won’t receive as much of the machine gun buff as other machine guns. Bungie states that its damage-per-second will be lower, but its burst and sustained damage will be improved.

Vex Mythoclast, an Exotic Fusion Rifle with a full-auto mode, is receiving the biggest buff of the Exotics, with a massive 40% damage boost in PvE. It’s also getting improvements to range, stability, rate of fire, and charge time (when in Linear Fusion Rifle mode). In addition, its catalyst will grant stability and damage after a kill, and you no longer sacrifice overcharge stacks when you stow the gun if it’s in automatic fire mode.

While these are the three biggest changes, Bungie’s also implemented a tweaks to a handful of other Exotics. Among others, Bastion will get a PvE buff and PvP nerf, Jötunn’s charge time will be reduced, and Fighting Lion will be slightly nerfed. You can read all of the changes at the bottom of this article.

All of these Exotic changes will arrive on August 24 with the launch of Season 15. We don’t know what the season’s story will cover yet, but we do know that it’ll bring Legendary Stasis weapons among other weapons changes. We’ll find out more during Bungie’s showcase event, where it’ll also talk about the The Witch Queen expansion.

Destiny 2 Season 15 Exotic Changes

Anarchy

  • Reduced total reserve+magazine ammunition from 26 to 16.
  • Reduced damage by 30% vs bosses (Champions are not bosses).

Xenophage

  • Reduced rate of fire from 120 to 90 RPM.
  • Receives less of the Machine Gun PvE damage buff.

Fighting Lion

  • Fighting Lion reserve ammo increased from “a lot” to “infinite.”
  • Receives the same changes as other breech Grenade Launchers.
  • Reduced base reload stat to 0 (breech Grenade Launchers with 0 reload stat reload very, very slowly).
  • Now increases reload speed to its previous level on damaging multiple enemies with one grenade.
  • We’ll be keeping an eye on this, but believe it’s in a good place with this change (and note that we’re not going to over-nerf an Exotic with its own subreddit).
  • You shouldn’t be manually reloading Fighting Lion anyway.

Vex Mythoclast

  • PVE damage bonus increased by ~40%.
  • Range stat increased to be near-best in class for high impact Auto Rifles.
  • Increased stability stat.
  • Reworked catalyst to grant stability and damage after a kill.
  • Increased rate of fire from 360 to 390.
  • Reduced Linear Fusion Rifle mode charge time from 820 to 533 (same as standard Linear Fusion Rifles).
  • No longer loses overcharge stacks on stow except when in Linear Fusion Rifle mode.

Merciless

  • Updated perk to account for fewer shots per burst (should build up charge rate at the same amount per burst as before).
  • Reduced the damage penalty for increasing charge rate by 40%.

Jötunn

  • Reduced charge time from 0.82s to 0.78s (i.e. charges 0.04s faster).
  • Slightly reduced damage per shot.

Bastion

  • Reduced damage by 15% (can now not quite kill a Guardian with one shot in the three-shot burst it fires).
  • Increased spread angle by 10%.
  • Increased PvE damage by 25% (so overall around a 10% increase in PvE).

Sweet Business

  • Now refills magazine on picking up Special/Heavy ammo instead of Primary.

Perks

  • Firing Line
    • Reduced damage bonus to +20% precision damage for all supported weapon archetypes (was highly variable depending on weapon type).
    • Will roll on some Sniper Rifles, Linear Fusion Rifles and Machine Guns, and maybe some other stuff in the future.
  • Certain damage perks only affected impact damage on explosive weapons, we’ve updated these specific perks to also increase detonation damage.
    • Kill Clip
    • Rampage
    • Adrenaline Junkie

Tiger King star Joe Exotic’s husband files for divorce after ‘dashed hopes’ over failed Trump pardon

The Tiger King didn’t just lose his best chance at freedom when Donald Trump’s hotly-anticipated pardon never came, he lost his marriage.

Joe Exotic’s husband Dillon Passage confirmed in a series of Instagram posts on Friday (26 March) that he is filing for divorce from the Netflix star.

“The presidential pardon we were all waiting for never came and our hopes were dashed. I remain in support of Joe and want to be there for him,” he said in a post.

“This wasn’t an easy decision to make but Joe and I both understand that this situation isn’t fair to either of us,” he added in a follow-up post.

Attorney for Mr Exotic, Francisco Hernandez, told TMZ that he is distraught after speaking to him in prison.

The tiger trader was reportedly so confident he’d receive a presidential pardon in the final days of the Trump administration that his team said a limousine was parked near the prison to escort him home.

Mr Exotic is serving a 22-year sentence in Fort Worth, Texas, after being convicted in 2019 of trying to hire a hitman to kill his zookeeper rival Carole Baskin, as well as numerous animal abuse charges.

On his last day as president on 20 January, Mr Trump pardoned 143 people, including rappers Lil Wayne and Kodack Black. But Exotic joined Julian Assange as notable absences from the round of clemency.

Fans of the eccentric personality had expected a pardon after Mr Trump seemed amused by the suggestion during a press conference in April last year.

When asked if he would consider the pardon, the then-president said he knew nothing about it but that he would “take a look”.

Mr Passage said his husband was “obviously having a difficult time in prison”, and no one could fault him for that. But at 25-years-old, he needed to consider his future.

“I am certain he wants me to lead a full life as all of you do for the people you love,” he said in a post.

“It’s something that neither of us were expecting but we are going to take it day by day. We are on good terms still and I hope it can stay that way,” he added in a separate post.
