Best Early Black Friday Deals on Apple TV 4K, AirPods, iPad, MagSafe, More

Although we’re still two weeks out from Black Friday on November 25, we’ve begun seeing many solid deals arrive on Apple products, like the early Black Friday discounts we shared on MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. In this post, we’re focusing less on a specific device and more on Apple in general, with early holiday discounts hitting Apple TV 4K, iPad, AirPods Pro, MagSafe accessories, and more.

Note: MacRumors is an affiliate partner with some of these vendors. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment, which helps us keep the site running.

Shoppers should note that although many of the deals shared below are current record low prices, there is no guarantee we won’t see steeper discounts later in the month or in December. Apple product sales fluctuate often during the holidays, so the best you can do is strike while the iron is hot during these best-ever price events.

Apple TV 4K (2021)

The 2021 Apple TV 4K has seen steep discounts since the summer, and prices have only been dropping even more following the announcement of the new 2022 Apple TV 4K models. Right now on Amazon you can get the 32GB 2021 Apple TV 4K for $99.99, which is an $79 discount and an all-time low price.

Apple TV 4K (2022)

If you want the latest Apple TV 4K model, you won’t be able to save as much money, but Amazon does still have a small deal. You can get the 64GB 2022 Apple TV 4K for $124.99, down from $129.00. The 128GB 2022 Apple TV 4K model is also available at a slight discount.

MagSafe Battery Pack

Amazon has a new record low price on the MagSafe Battery Pack, available for $71.00, down from $99.00. This accessory rarely sees discounts, so now is a great time to snag the battery pack at its best-ever price.

MagSafe Duo Charger

Another MagSafe accessory, the MagSafe Duo Charger, is down to $103.00 right now on Amazon, from its original price of $129.00. This is the first time we’ve tracked a deal on the MagSafe Duo Charger in more than a month.

AirPods Pro 2

Apple just launched the second-generation AirPods Pro, and Amazon has had the headphones at a $15 discount for a few weeks now. This is a second-best price, but still a solid markdown on the brand-new accessory.

10.9-Inch iPad (2022)

B&H Photo has the first major discount on the just-released 10.9-inch iPad, available for $399.00 (64GB Wi-Fi), down from $449.00. As of writing, only B&H Photo has this deal, and only in the Blue color.

11-Inch iPad Pro (2022)

Amazon has the first notable discount on the brand new iPad Pro lineup, with $50 savings on the 128GB Wi-Fi 11-inch iPad Pro. As of today, this remains the only new iPad Pro with a deal, and B&H Photo is matching Amazon’s price.

iPad Mini 6

You can get Apple’s 64GB Wi-Fi iPad mini 6 for its all-time low price of $399.99 right now on Amazon, which is a $99 discount on the 2021 tablet. This remains the best deal we’ve ever seen on the iPad mini 6, and only Amazon has the sale right now.

Studio Display

For Apple’s display products, we’re tracking best-ever prices on the Studio Display with standard glass at Amazon and B&H Photo. It’s on sale for $1,499.00, which is $100 off its original price. The nano-texture glass option is also $100 off on B&H Photo.

Pro Display XDR

Apple’s high-end Pro Display XDR with nano-texture glass has dropped to $5,499.00 on Amazon and B&H Photo, down from $5,999.00. This is a match of the all-time low price on this display.

We’re keeping track of all of the season’s best Apple-related deals in our Black Friday roundup, so be sure to check back throughout the month for an updated list of all the most notable discounts you’ll find for Black Friday 2022.

15 best early Amazon Black Friday deals: Cheapest 4K Chromecast ever, $500 off OLED TV and more

Amazon’s Black Friday deals are starting to gather pace, with discounts to be had on TVs, laptops, fitness equipment, home gear and more. In fact, there’s almost too much to keep track of.

So I’ve narrowed down the top 15 deals that have caught my eye. High on the list of new sales is Amazon’s new 65-inch Omni QLED 4K Fire TV, which only came out last month but has been sliced to $599; that’s a good price for the first QLED TV in Amazon’s Omni Fire TV lineup.

Other attention-grabbing discounts that have my attention include the a big sale on Bowflex adjustable dumbbells and up top 50% off select Anova Sous Vide precision cookers. Amazon has been offering good preview deals so far, but in my opinion they’ve yet to offer that killer deal that no other retailer matches. That said, the latest batch of deals is definitely ramping things up.

One thing worth noting is that Amazon is relying on third-party merchants a lot when it runs out of stock on select devices. That’s not a major issue, but in a few instances we’ve seen third-party merchants offering used/renewed items instead of new items. While the product page usually displays when an item is used, the print can be small, so be alert of your merchant when hitting that buy button.

Below you’ll find the best Amazon Black Friday deals I’ve seen today.

PM Update: Showers develop early Friday, ahead of several rounds of storminess

Nicole to race by D.C. region Friday, with rain and possibly tornadoes

It was right around 70 this afternoon; that’s warmer than average by about 10 degrees. With rising humidity levels, temperatures won’t fall far tonight. Friday it will feel tropical, largely thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Nicole swinging by to our west. Warmth and humidity won’t be the only things we’ll be watching for tomorrow.

Through tonight: Mainly cloudy conditions will persist tonight, with showers starting to threaten late. Raindrops will be likely by dawn, with overnight lows making it to the mid-50s to near 60. Humidity will be rising through the night on light south winds.

Tomorrow (Friday): Waves of heavy showers and storms are a good bet Friday, as Nicole’s turbulence moves to our west. It won’t rain all day, but several rounds may move through the D.C. area. With lots of spinning wind around, a few brief tornadoes might be possible. It will feel tropical, with highs in the low 70s.

Pollen update: Mold spores are low. Other allergens are absent.

Winter to the northwest: A blizzard is ongoing in the northern Plains. Bismark, N.D., has seen 13 inches of snow as it closes in on one of its snowiest days on record.

Do you prefer a mechanical keyboard? this Logitech option may have gaming in the title, but it will do great for anyone looking for a more comfortable keyboard feel. The numpad here will be useful for anyone looking to be more productive too, providing numbers at a fingers distance without needing to stretch to the num row. There are flashing gamer lights all over it, but those can be turned off for a less ‘in your face’ experience.

This one also has a nice $80 discount, so you’ll save some money while you’re it.

It’s another sound bar for your Apple TV 4K, and this time it’s from Sony. This one is a little cheaper with $100 off full price, setting you back now $198. iPad Pro M2 for $50 off? Don’t mind if we do. The smaller of the two pro models is now $50 off at Amazon, making it $749. This is the tablet’s lowest price – and it might not stick around for long.

One for the Prime members this time – a mesh network system from Amazon. If you’ve got a Prime account you can get yourself an eero Pro mesh system for $280 off full price – so its $419 now. A mesh system is perhaps one of the most efficient ways of spreading a WiFi signal throughout your house, even if you’ve got thick walls.

No, it may not be as fast or solid a connection as an ethernet cable, but if you can drill holes all through your house then this is a perfect alternative.

This is a saving of over $150 on the MacBook Air M2 – that’s its lowest price ever again, only this time it’s at Best Buy. What do you get over the previous model? A bigger screen with less bezel, as well as a notch. It’s also slightly thicker with its new design, and its keyboard is clickier with more feedback.

OLED TVs have the most authentic black, making The LG C2 OLED one of the best TVs for watching HDR content. Movies will pop with vibrance and contrast to give you the punchy picture you usually can only experience in a cinema. We’ve never seen the 55-inch LG C2 at this price before, and it’s worth every penny for anyone who loves excellent picture quality.

August has long been one of the very best smart locks on the market thanks to its convenient features and reliable design. Right now, the third-generation August Smart Lock is 19% off ahead of Black Friday, so you can save on smartening up your home.

It replaces the thumbturn on the inside of your home, but leaves the front of the door looking the same, so no one can guess you have a smart lock installed. You can also assign it to auto-lock when you leave the house or auto-unlock when you’re coming back home. That’s really helpful when you’ve got arms full of groceries. Just note that you’ll need to provide your own Wi-Fi bridge if you want it to connect to HomeKit, but that’s the case with many smart locks out there.

Need some extra storage to go with your best Mac? We’ve found just the thing – how about an extra 2TB of SSD storage that you can take anywhere you want? This Samsung portable SSD currently has $100 off, and will work perfectly with any Mac you might plug it into.

The Apple TV 4K may have just been updated, but the previous version is now heavily discounted over at Amazon. The little black box of tricks is an excellent little streaming box, capable of some of the best sound format support of any product similar.

This deal will save you $80, making it less than the new one.

Did you know you can get a new iPhone 14 Pro for free at Verizon? No? Well, you do now. You’re going to have to trade in an older iPhone or old android device in good condition and choose one of the more comprehensive data plans, but you’re going to save up $1000 off a new iPhone – which if you haven’t noticed, is pretty much the exact price of the iPhone.

Let’s hope you’ve been using a screen protector and case on that old phone!

AirPods Max. Apple’s most impressive pair of headphones to date – beautifully constructed, spectacularly marketed, and tuned, on the audio side, on the warm side. Trying to find a pair at a good price? This could be your chance – this deal at Amazon may not make them the lowest price they’ve ever been, but they are close.

This $100 saving is a big one, and one worth grabbing while you can – it’s on all the colors too, which is something of a rarity.

Keep track of your heart rate, daily steps, and quality of sleep with this Apple Watch competitor. It also has built-in GPS so it can show you where you’ve been when on your jogs or other outdoor activities. Like swimming? No need to worry as it is water resistant up to 50 meters and it can go as far as you can with over six days of battery life.

The base MSRP already costs less than many of the Apple Watch offerings, but right now it’s a steal with $100 off.

Fancy a new Keyboard to go with your best Mac? There’s not much better than Apple’s Magic keyboard. It’s made of aluminum, with clicky chiclet keys. It’s also wireless and rechargeable – and this one even has a numpad. Nice.

Save $30 over at Amazon at the moment, and get those typing fingers happy again with a proper keyboard.

I love my little Beats Studio Buds – they sound great, are properly tiny, and they’re also reasonably priced. At the moment, you can save $50 on a pair at Amazon – making them almost a third the price of the AirPods Pro 2.

And, being completely candid, as nice as the AirPods Pro 2 are, you’re not going to miss out on too much if you go for a pair of these. They’ll still cancel noise, they still sound great, and they even come in some funky colors – at this price, almost a no-brainer.

Fancy a pair of 4K monitors? This dual monitor bundle at HP will do the trick. They’re 28-inches big each, so there’ll be plenty of monitor space when you plug in, and they’re both nice and compact to save space on your desk. HP makes some of the best 4K monitors for Mac, and these are no different.

If nothing else, you’ll be able to watch two movies at once get loads of work done with more screen to work with.

(Image credit: Bryan M. Wolfe / iMore)

The MacBook Pro 14-inch that was released last year is an impressive piece of computer. The M1 Pro chip under the hood is extremely powerful, and the new 14-inch screen is big, and crucially, beautiful. This $400 saving doesn’t bring the laptop down to its lowest price, but it does make it less than if you were to head on over to Apple and spec up a 13-inch MacBook Pro to be similar.

And yeah, I know which MacBook I’d go for.

The iPad Mini is a wonderful little tablet, perfect for when you’re on the go. This deal over at Amazon is pretty monster, however – you can currently save $100 off one of the smaller iPads, in all the colors. That makes the 64GB tablet $399 – its lowest price ever.

It may not have the power of the iPad Air, or the yellow of the newest iPad 2022, but its smaller footprint and A15 make it a contender against both. Honestly? There’s possibly no better time to grab an iPad Mini than now – even if it is almost Black Friday.

(Image credit: Christopher Close / iMore)

Upgrading your HomeKit smart home can be pricey, but that’s why Black Friday is the perfect time to search for deals on the best Homekit accessories.

You can’t go wrong with the Arlo Video Doorbell.

Thousands of gamers rely on this gaming headset whether playing on Mac, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, or PS5.

The battery lasts for up to 300 hours, allowing players to dive into game after game without needing to worry about running out of juice. To make it easier to communicate with friends online, the microphone offers excellent noise-cancelling while the DTS Spatial Audio helps you identify exactly where a sound is coming from. As far as comfort goes, the memory foam padding on the connecting band and earphones is nice and soft for a relaxing experience.

What are the iMore team looking out for this Black Friday? Gaming Editor Rebecca Spear and Contributor Tshaka Armstrong are both looking to replace aging TVs with newer, brighter models at a bargain price – and can’t wait to see what’s coming over Black Friday.

There are likely to be some great offers on TVs over the next few weeks for any budget, so keep your eyes peeled!

The Sony LinkBuds S are some of the best true-wireless earbuds I’ve ever tried, and with this price they’re back at their previous best.

They’re cheaper than the AirPods Pro 2, and they offer most of the same features – for a much lower price. There’s noise canceling on board, along with some stellar sound quality. The best thing I found out though? Their size – they are tiny and I find they blend in beautifully when I’m wearing them. This deal is on all colors.

(Image credit: Gerald Lynch / Future)

Fancy some new AirPods? This might not be the biggest discount, but It’ll save you some money on one of the pairs of the best true wireless earbuds. The Air Pods Pro 2 are a pretty decent update to the AirPods Pro, piling on more features than you can shake an AirPods-sized stick at.

This deal isn’t the biggest, but it brings them back down to their lowest price ever. If nothing else, this points to the potential for further discounts that may come closer to Black Friday proper.

One of the best iPads ever, the iPad Air brought the M1 chip to a more affordable package. The screen is excellent, the chassis slick and attractive, and the performance is to die for. What could be better? A new lowest price.

This iPad Air price is the lowest the tablet has been for some time, chopping $80 off full price. It’s a great saving on a fantastic iPad. The price drop is on all the different colors, as well as storage options. There is a reduction on the Wifi + Cellular version, but it’s only around a $40 drop at Amazon.

The Apple Watch Series 8 is a very solid little smartwatch, and one of the best Apple Watches that you can buy. It’s almost becoming a must for iPhone users, and the GPS + Cellular model brings even more features to the table.

This deal makes it the cheapest that it has ever been, with a massive $110 discount. That now brings it to the same price as the GPS variant of the same size, so you can get more watch for the same price. The larger 44mm variant is also reduced, but only by $40 at Amazon. Not sure which is the best model for you? Check out the differences between the Apple Watch GPS VS GPS + Cellular.

An early universe analog built in a lab in Germany

Credit: Pixabay/CC0 Public Domain

A team of researchers at Universität Heidelberg has built an early universe analog in their laboratory using chilled potassium atoms. In their paper published in the journal Nature, the group describes their simulator and how it might be used. Silke Weinfurtner, with the University of Nottingham, has published a News & Views piece in the same journal issue outlining the work done by the team in Germany.

Understanding what occurred during the first few moments after the Big Bang is difficult due to the lack of evidence left behind. That leaves astrophysicists with nothing but theory to describe what might have happened. To give credence to their theories, scientists have built models that theoretically represent the conditions being described. In this new effort, the researchers used a new approach to build a physical model in their laboratory to simulate conditions just after the Big Bang.

Beginning with the theory that that the Big Bang gave rise to an expanding universe, the researchers sought to create what they describe as a “quantum field simulator.” Since most theories suggest it was likely that the early universe was very cold, near absolute zero, the researchers created an environment that was very cold. They then added potassium atoms to represent the universe they were trying to simulate.

The atoms were chilled to just above absolute zero and slowed down using lasers, resulting in the formation of a Bose-Einstein condensate—a type of superfluid. The researchers then used light from a specially designed projector to push the atoms into desired arrangements. Under the setup, superfluid excitons known as phonons propagate in two directions.

By manipulating the speed of propagation, the researchers were able to mimic theorized wave propagation in the early universe. They suggest the behavior of their superfluid was somewhat similar to the physics that governed spacetime and the production of particles in those moments just after the Big Bang.

One of the first experiments conducted using the simulator involved mimicking the expansion of the early universe—the atoms in the superfluid moved in a ripple pattern in ways similar to what has been predicted by theory if pairs of particles are being created.

Go big or go home, right? If you’re going to save, you might as well save on an amazing sort of laptop that’s going to last you a good long while. This machine from the ROG Strix lineup is a powerful beast that’s fully loaded with the specs you like to see and a display that’s built to handle it all.

It comes with a top-tier AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor with up to 4.6GHz speeds, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 solid state drive with NVMe tech. The GPU is a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, which is quite powerful and designed for some high-tier gaming. That’s good because the 15.6-inch display with 1080p resolution, an IPS-type panel, and a 3ms response time will make your games pop thanks to its 300Hz refresh rate.

Other features include Wi-Fi 6 with RangeBoost tech that helps it work over an even longer distance, Bluetooth 5.1, an RGB opti-mechanical keyboard, and an intelligent cooling system.

Pick up a great and affordable gaming laptop that’s down to a nice low price. The Acer Swift X was going for well over $1,000 over the summer, and this marks the first time it has ever dropped below $800.

The technical specs include an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U processor, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive with NVMe tech for super fast read and write times, and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card. Extra features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, built-in Amazon Alexa, and more. It also has a 14-inch screen with 1080p resolution on an IPS panel.

This is a great deal on a gaming laptop you can find through Best Buy’s main site but also through Best Buy’s official eBay storefront, should you prefer to shop there for one reason or another. It might sell out in one place so you can find it in the other.

The Gigabyte Aorus is a well-rounded lineup of powerful gaming machines, and this is a great mid-tier one at an awesome price. The laptop’s technical specs include an Intel Core i7-12700H computer processor with up to 4.7GHz speeds, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive. It also has a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card that’s great for gaming. Make those games look good on the computer’s 15.6-inch display with 1080p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and an IPS panel with great color accuracy.

Save a huge chunk off this powerful gaming laptop. It comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive. The graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060. All of these specs are great and should allow for some very powerful gaming sessions, especially considering the 15.6-inch display with 1080p resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate.

The laptop is equipped with a ton of other great features, too. The keyboard has 4-zone RGB lighting. The AeroBlade 3D Fan technology is custom-engineered to provide the best possible cooling even during long gaming sessions. Plus the Custom Control 2.0 utility app gives you maximum control over monitoring your system, creating macros, setting up overclock, and more.

Razer makes beautiful devices often fully featured and loaded with goodies, but these laptops also tend to be extremely expensive. Unless you’re just flowing with cash, chances are you’re not buying a Razer laptop straight up. So it’s nice when we can find one on sale. In this case, it’s not just on sale it’s down to its lowest price ever on Amazon.

The Razer Blade 14 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor with up to 4.9GHz speeds, 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM, and a 1TB solid state drive. It has a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, which is very powerful and will be really great for your long video game sessions. Plus all your games will look good on the laptop’s 14-inch monitor with a 1440p resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. Add on some advanced cooling, RGB lighting, USB-C ports, and other great features.

Dell has a great online store with a constantly rotating inventory of laptops from the Inspiron lineup to G15 and G16 gaming machines and even Alienware laptops all on sale. The prices are particularly low right now because of early Black Friday pricing. Check out the whole store for more possibilities, but if you’re looking for a solid pick right now you can check out the Dell Vostro 7620 gaming laptop.

The greatness of this laptop starts with that price. It’s a huge Black Friday discount that brings it way down from its regular street price and gives you some insane value for under $1,000. The technical specs include a 12th-gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor with up to 4.70GHz Turbo speeds, a 512GB solid state drive with NVMe tech for fast read and write speeds, 8GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM, and more. It also includes a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card for gaming. The display is a 16-inch screen with 1200p resolution.

Here is another great deal going on during Best Buy’s early Black Friday sale. You can save $500 on a fantastic gaming laptop from the ASUS TUF Dash lineup. That’s a huge chunk of money off a really well-equipped machine. And remember while these deals may stick around through Black Friday, they are unlikely to get any better. Might as well take advantage of what you’re seeing now and grab it while you can.

The ASUS TUF Dash includes a 12th-generation Intel Core i7-12650H processor, 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive. The graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU, which is a great mid tier graphics card that should be able to play most of your favorite games at the highest of settings. Plus it will all look good on the computer’s 15.6-inch display with 1080p resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.

Walmart’s Black Friday Deals for Days event continues as we head into actual Black Friday season. No sense in waiting though because there are some great discounts available today! The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is a fantastic computer, and you’d be crazy not to latch onto this discount considering it’s such a great low price compared to what it normally goes for.

The Legion 5 Pro includes an AMD Ryzen 7 6800H computer processor, 16GB RAM that can be expanded up to 32GB, and a 512GB solid state drive. It has a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card as well. It has a beautiful 16-inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, too, so your games will look fantastic.

This is another really solid deal out of Best Buy, where you can find a ton of great laptops whether you want a gaming machine or something slicker with Intel Iris Xe graphics or whatever. The Zephyrus lineup is a great one that often has some really nice price drops.

The technical specs for this machine include an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive. It is also powered by a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, which will come in handy when trying to get your games up to the 144Hz refresh rate on the 14-inch display.

It has a lot of other great features, too, including two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports for connecting all your extras. It also has a four speaker system for excellent audio while playing your favorite games.

Well, if that last entry was a budget pick, this one definitely is not. It will cost you a few doubloons but the investment may be worth it if you’re looking to go all out on your gaming machine. Plus, you are still saving a huge chunk of change off the laptop’s regular price thanks to Walmart’s Black Friday Deals for Days sale. Heck, even when this laptop has gone on sale in the past it hasn’t dropped this low.

The MSI GP66 Leopard is a beast of a machine with an 11th-gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, a 512GB solid state drive, and a powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, multiple USB ports, and a 15.6-inch display with 1080p pixel resolution. You can expand the RAM and other parts as you want. It even has per-key RGB backlighting on the SteelSeries keyboard.

On average, you should expect to pay more for a gaming laptop. Truly high end laptops can cost thousands, and even the mid tier machines can set you back a pretty penny. If you’re shopping on a budget though, you do have options. This is one of those options at an incredibly low price.

The MSI GF63, even at less than $500, does come with a discrete graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU. That’s a couple of generations behind at this point, but that’s why it’s a budget machine. And it’s still a very good card. Other specs include a 10th-gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM, and a 256GB solid state drive. It also has a 15.6-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.

I’m not sure how long this deal is going to last because it has already expired once. It’s great that it’s back, but don’t expect to get a lot of time to think on it. This is a fantastic price for a laptop that not only includes a discrete graphics card but an OLED panel on its beautiful display as well.

What you get is an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB solid state drive with NVMe technology for fast read/write times. It also has a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card. The 15.6-inch display uses an OLED panel and has 1080p resolution along with touchscreen support.

Extra features include a USB-C and USB-A port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and a media card reader.

Want to learn about one of the better open secrets when it comes to looking for great deals on gaming laptops and other kinds of tech? It’s eBay. Did you know a huge chunk of retailers and manufacturers have official eBay storefronts where they often sell things they can’t sell through their main pages? Or, at the very least, make the eBay store makes it a lot easier to see everything in one place. This deal, for example, comes from the official Acer page where they share refurbished units. In this case, it’s already discounted because it’s a refurb and then it has a bonus discount on top of that to bring it as low as we’re seeing it right now.

The Acer Predator Triton 300 SE gaming laptop is a fully loaded machine with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive. It’s powered by a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card and has a 14-inch display with 1080p resolution and an IPS panel.

I love a good bang-for-your-buck sort of deal, that’s what this is. It’s hard to find laptops that specifically have discrete graphics cards for less than $700. They usually don’t drop that low unless they’re on sale like this one is. You get a lot of value here, especially if you want a gaming laptop while on a budget.

This is also a 2022 model so it has some very new tech inside of it. You get an AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor, 8GB DDR5 RAM, a 256GB solid state drive, and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card. It has a 15.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

It’s also worth noting this laptop comes with three months of Xbox Game Pass for free so you’re going to get to play a lot of awesome games at no extra cost. At least for a while.

Plenty of sites, including Newegg, are advertising some early Black Friday deals. This sale, however, comes from the Newegg Shell Shockers, which are daily deals that rotate out quite frequently. The savings available here will disappear by this time tomorrow so you’ll want to grab it while you can if you’re interested.

The Acer Nitro 5 is a great laptop that we’ve answered some gaming questions about and found it worked well. This model is even more powerful than the ones we’ve tested before. The technical specs include an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 512GB solid state drive, and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU. You also get a 15.6-inch laptop with a 165Hz refresh rate, which is great for gaming.

Walmart’s Black Friday Deals for Days is a great source of ongoing deals right now. You should definitely browse the whole sale if you want some more ideas. Walmart has sort of turned all of November into Black Friday for them by featuring some huge sales each weekend leading up to the major event weekend.

You may not have to search for much though because this laptop may be all you need. The Legion 5i is a powerful computer. It is loaded with an Intel Core i5-10500H processor, 8GB RAM, and a 256GB solid state drive. It also has a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card for gaming. You’ll be able to put that GPU to work and make your games look good on the 15.6-inch display with 1080p pixel resolution and a very high 240Hz refresh rate.

Here’s a deal that’s part of Amazon’s early Black Friday sale. You can save up to 22% on this laptop, but you should know there’s a limited quantity available. It may not last long at this price.

The basic technical specs include an Intel Core i5-11400H processor, 8GB RAM, and a 512GB solid state drive for storage. It’s also powered by a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, which you can use for some intense gaming thanks to the laptop’s 17.3-inch display with 1080p pixel resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Other features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, an RGB keyboard, and even a 30-day free trial to PC Game Pass so you can play all the games you want.

This deal comes from antonline, a respected eBay seller that often has a lot of great deals on computers and accessories. We recommend them often, especially when they have great prices like this.

The Gigabyte Aorus is a fantastic laptop that’s equipped with a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. That’s important because its 15.6-inch display has a refresh rate that can reach 360Hz. Your games are going to look and feel fantastic, and the laptop has the power to back it up with an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

The G16 is a relatively new entry from Dell, which means this laptop has a lot of modern features including some of the latest tech. In this case, the laptop includes a 12th-gen Intel Core i7 processor with up to 4.7GHz speeds, 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD with NVMe tech for fast read and write times. It’s also powered by a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card.

Not only will you be able to play your favorite games, but they will look great on the 16-inch display that has 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Dell laptops also come with Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports along with several other USB ports.

We have reviewed the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i, so be sure to get all the information you could possibly need about this gaming machine. It’s a great device, and this one in particular comes loaded with great features.

The technical specs include a 12th-gen Intel Core i5 processor with up to 4.50GHz speeds, 8GB RAM, a 256GB PCIe 4.0 solid state drive, and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card. The best part about this machine is the 15.6-inch display that includes an IPS panel, 1080p pixel resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate that’s great for gamers.

Black Friday 2022: Best Early Deals from Walmart, Apple, and more

Best Buy has gone toe-to-toe with Amazon during past sales events, and we expect discounts on TVs, smartphones, computers, iPads, and other tech from Best Buy. The electronics retailer officially kicked off its early Black Friday sale on Monday, October 24, and although the first wave of discounts ended on Sunday, October 30, there will still be plenty of ways to save. In addition to the rolling sales we’re likely to see, My Best Buy and Totaltech members can also take advantage of exclusive sales on Member Mondays through the end of December. Unfortunately, Best Buy’s Price Match Guarantee will not apply to purchases made from Friday, November 18, through Monday, November 28. However, the electronics retailer will extend its return window through January 14, 2023, for most purchases made from October 24 through December 31, 2022, with the exception of major appliances, holiday decorations, and select tech purchased with a third-party contract. Best Buy has also announced that it will be joining other retailers—including Costco, Kohl’s, Target, and Walmart—in keeping brick-and-mortar stores closed on Thanksgiving Day, but we anticipate a flurry of online sales that day to tide you over. Here are some of the best early deals we’re seeing.

Ultra-processed foods linked with early deaths: study – The Hill

Story at a glance

  • Ultra-processed foods account for more than half of Americans’ daily caloric intake.

  • New data shows consumption of these foods is linked with significant increases in premature deaths.

  • Researchers estimate eating less of these foods could lead to lower rates of noncommunicable diseases and fewer premature deaths.

Eating ultra-processed foods — or those that contain little or no whole foods in their ingredients — was associated with tens of thousands of premature deaths in 2019, according to results of a new study.

The investigation was carried out in Brazil, but researchers noted Brazilians tend to eat far less of these foods than individuals in high-income countries like the United States, Canada and Australia.

As ultra-processed foods account for more than half of Americans’ total caloric intake, the association with premature deaths could be even greater in the United States.

The foods were defined as ready-to-eat-or-heat industrial formulations made with ingredients extracted from foods or synthesized in laboratories. They can include pre-packaged soups and sauces, frozen pizza, hot dogs, sausages, sodas, ice cream, and store-bought baked goods.

Data showed increased consumption of these foods was linked with over 10 percent of all premature, preventable deaths in the country, accounting for around 57,000 deaths in 2019.

During the study period, 261,061 adults between the ages 30 and 69 died from preventable, noncommunicable diseases. While consumption of ultra-processed foods was linked with 10 percent of all preventable premature deaths, the diets were linked with 21.8 percent of all deaths from preventable, non-communicable diseases in the country.

Processed foods have grown in prevalence in recent years and are replacing traditional foods made from fresh, minimally processed ingredients around the world, the authors explained.

Writing in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, they noted previous studies have detailed the negative health impacts of sodium, sugar, trans fats and other additives in processed food. Consumption has also been linked with obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other conditions.

One study published in Sept. 2022 found a significant association between ultra-processed food and colorectal cancer risk among men. Men who consumed higher rates of these foods were at a 30 percent increased risk of developing cancer.

Another found that sugar-sweetened beverages are associated with around 184,000 global adult deaths each year.

“To our knowledge, no study to date has estimated the potential impact of [ultra-processed foods] on premature deaths,” said lead investigator Eduardo A.F. Nilson, of the University of São Paulo.

Models were based on data from nationally representative dietary surveys, and were stratified by age and sex.

Promoting healthier food choices could help combat the growing trend, while cutting consumption of the foods by 10 to 50 percent could potentially prevent around 5,900 to 29,300 premature deaths in Brazil each year, models showed.

“Even reducing consumption of [ultra-processed foods] to the levels of just a decade ago would reduce associated premature deaths by 21 percent. Policies that disincentivize the consumption of [the foods] are urgently needed,” Nilson said.

However, not all highly processed foods are necessarily unhealthy, as processed whole grain breads and cereals can also be important sources of fiber.

Wake up early Tuesday to catch the blood moon lunar eclipse in NYC

In the predawn hours on Tuesday, a total lunar eclipse will hang in the autumn sky.

Starting just after 3 a.m., the sun, Earth, and moon will start to fall squarely into alignment – bringing about a full lunar eclipse around 5:16 a.m. The eclipse reaches its maximum about 45 minutes later.

Other celestial landmarks will also be viewable, such as neighboring red-orange Mars and the Pleiades star cluster. All of these events are easy to see with the naked eye, even through New York City’s artificial light pollution.

“If they get up early and have their morning coffee, they should be checking out the eclipse,” said Bart Fried, vice president of the Amateur Astronomers Association.

A Nov. 8 eclipse diagram with various stages in Eastern Standard Time.

Sometimes known as a blood moon given its reddish tinge, a total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth positions itself directly between the moon and sun, casting a full shadow over the moon. Watching from beginning to end will take more than three hours, but just after 4 a.m., stargazers can get a mid-eclipse view. Binoculars aren’t necessary, but the enlarged view allows for more dramatic detail.

“You can see that the moon is kind of getting gobbled up by a shadow,” Fried said. “The difference is striking and magnificent.”

Not far from the moon that evening, Mars will appear as a bright and reddish glow in the night sky. It will be easy to spot because it will seem brighter than the stars out there.

“If you’re looking at the moon, you’ll notice Mars, you won’t miss it,” Fried said. “It will be above and to the left of the moon and not that far away.”

NASA states “during a lunar eclipse, Earth’s atmosphere scatters sunlight. The blue light from the Sun scatters away, and longer-wavelength red, orange, and yellow light pass through, turning our Moon red.”

The Pleiades star cluster will also be close by and visible at the time of the lunar eclipse. Looking like a tangle of string lights, these thousands of stars are one of the brightest and closest clusters to the Earth at about 400 light years away.

“This is one of the true jewels for binocular astronomy,” Fried said.

The Nov. 8 event will mark the second total lunar eclipse this year. The city’s next lunar eclipse will be a partial one on Oct. 28, 2023.
