Ben Affleck seen serving customers at Dunkin’ drive-through window

Comment

Lisa Mackay’s coffee run on Tuesday morning started like any other.

She got into the drive-through at the Dunkin’ in Medford, Mass., she goes to every day to get her regular order — a small, black iced coffee. But when she pulled up to the window, it was Ben Affleck handing her the drink.

Seeing the actor, dressed in an “America Runs on Dunkin’” shirt and cap with a headset on, left Mackay stunned. She snapped a photo of Affleck, a known Dunkin’ enthusiast, at the window that has since made its rounds on social media, with some fans speculating that he was filming a Super Bowl commercial and others saying actress and singer Jennifer Lopez, his wife, was also there.

“He was very, very funny, super, super friendly and just super nice,” said Mackay, 54, “and of course still has a Boston accent.”

Affleck’s fondness for Dunkin’ has been well-documented by paparazzi over the years.

You’ve probably seen the photos. Affleck holding a pink-and-orange Dunkin’ bag while on a stroll with Lopez. Him trying to balance an iced coffee atop a stack of packages with his chin. And of course, the viral photos of the actor trying to juggle a tray of three iced coffees and a Munchkins box while wearing a “Believe in Boston” shirt.

Eminem surprises customers by serving at Mom’s Spaghetti, his new Detroit restaurant

Affleck, who grew up in Massachusetts, once admitted he gets Dunkin’ every day in Los Angeles.

“It’s very weird, I have it every day and people are always like, ‘Where is that? Is that near here?’” the actor said in a 2019 interview with Collider. “So, I feel like I’m spreading the word.”

In 2020, a Dunkin’ executive called Affleck a “true lover of the brand,” according to Insider.

At the time, the company hadn’t established an official relationship with Affleck. And while the sightings of the actor at Dunkin’ this week might be the start of a partnership, Dunkin’ has yet to publicly announce it. The company did not respond to a request from The Washington Post on Tuesday.

To Mackay, Affleck is the perfect person for a Dunkin’ partnership.

“I think he truly, honestly loves Dunkin’ Donuts coffee,” she said. “So, there’s no one better. If you’re going to pay someone, it should be him.”

Steve Jobs loved Birkenstocks. His old pair just sold for over $218,000.

When Mackay drove up to the microphone on Tuesday, she recalled that Affleck had told her, “You look lovely this morning. Welcome to Dunkin’ Donuts, may I take your order?”

She told him she wanted a black iced coffee, and he responded: “That’s it? That’s all you want?”

“And I drove up, and there he was,” Mackay said. “I was like, ‘Wow, really?’”

They chatted a little and joked around, but Mackay was so nervous she couldn’t recall most of the exchange. But Affleck was “everything you think he would be” — funny, friendly and quick-witted, she said.

After Mackay moved past the window, she was waved down by a woman standing in the parking lot. The woman asked if Mackay would grant permission for use of the video footage from her interaction with Affleck, handing her a form to sign once she said yes.

“I wish I was prepared,” Mackay joked. “I would have probably, maybe, did my hair and my nails and wore a better outfit.”

But still, she’ll be excited if she does end up in a commercial alongside Affleck.

“I’m a Boston girl. So yes, we all love him here,” she said.

Ben Affleck Serves Dunkin’ at Medford, MA Drive-Thru: PHOTO – NBC Boston

It’s well-known that movie star Ben Affleck loves his Dunkin’ — he’s often spotted drinking one — and now he’s apparently serving them, too.

Affleck was spotted slinging drinks at a drive-thru in Medford on Tuesday — a woman who took a photo of the “Batman” and “Good Will Hunting” star, Lisa Mackay, told NBC10 Boston the movie star was quick-witted and funny when they talked.

Mackay said she signed a form for video of her to be used and was told by crew members that they were filming a commercial.

We’ve reached out to Dunkin’ to learn more about why Affleck was in the area — where, as Boston residents know already, he’s from.

Affleck’s new wife, Jennifer Lopez, may have been part of the fun — video and posts on social media showed her at a local Dunkin’.

Ben Affleck isn’t going anywhere, and Jennifer Lopez is sharing the special message her husband had engraved inside her engagement ring before he popped the question for the second time in April 2022.

A film crew was spotted around noon breaking down a shoot at a Dunkin’ location in Medford.

Affleck, who was raised in Cambridge, has a well-documented relationship with Dunkin’. A 2020 photo of him dropping an order of drinks outside his home even became a meme.

New Jersey couple sues Dunkin’ after hot coffee severely burns husband

America might run on Dunkin’ but a New Jersey man and his wife are racing to court after he was allegedly burned by a hot cup of coffee from the java joint.

Evan Arlington and Stephanie Arlington-Macias bought two cups of coffee and an iced coffee from a Totowa Dunkin’ Donuts on Aug. 25, 2021, according to an April 4 lawsuit they filed in Passaic County.

TEXAS WOMAN SUES STARBUCKS CLAIMING SPILLED COFFEE CAUSED BURNS

Arlington suffered second- and third-degree burns after the coffee spilled in his lap at the drive-thru, said the couple’s attorney, William Gold.

Arlington had medical bills, while Arlington-Macias, 37, suffered “a loss of her husband’s aid, comfort, conjugal fellowship and consortium,” they claim in the legal filing.

The pair are seeking unspecified damages. Dunkin’ Donuts didn’t return a message.

Woman sought for questioning in fatal shooting near NYC Dunkin’

Cops released video Sunday of a woman who allegedly sparked the deadly shooting of a Jamaican immigrant following a fight that broke out at a Bronx Dunkin’ Donuts when she cut the line.

Stephaun Stewart, 24, was blasted Friday around 1:30 p.m. near the East Gun Hill Road coffee shop after he and a friend got into an argument with the woman over her cutting the line, a police source said Sunday.

“She tells them to back off because they probably have COVID,” the source said.

The victim and his friend then left the shop, but the woman followed them out, the source said.

The woman can be seen on surveillance video making a call.

She then met up with a man between 17 and 25 years old and had another confrontation with Stewart, police said. Police sources said the man was her boyfriend.

The woman allegedly cut the victim in the Dunkin’ line.

“During that argument, the female and suspect mentioned something about getting a gun,” the source said. “At that point, the male goes off into a building.”

Stewart and his friend then split up and went in different directions. Police believe Stewart was shot to death sometime after that.

Stewart immigrated from Jamaica in December 2021, police said. He had no criminal record in the city.

A Dunkin’ worker on Saturday told The Post that Stewart was not even involved in the dispute.

“She was just arguing for no reason. He was just there, that’s it, just listening,” said the employee, who did not want to be named. “He shot the wrong guy.”

A man shot after an argument inside a Bronx Dunkin’ was a recent immigrant from Jamaica working to support his mother and sisters back home, family members told The Post.

Stephen Stewart, 24, was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to his midsection at 3559 Holland Ave., after a heated exchange with a woman inside the eatery spilled out onto the street, police said.

“He always be the one to carry the peace. Most of the family is devastated. He’s just that person,” his aunt, who did not give her name, said in an interview. “I don’t know why somebody would do this to him, over a simple issue. That didn’t call for somebody losing life.”

Stewart had come to the United States just three months ago, his family said. He worked at Cooler Runnings Jamaican Restaurant on Nereid Avenue where coworkers said he was “always dancing.”

“He was a very jovial guy, hardworking. He’s been here like three weeks,” said one person at the restaurant, who declined to give his name. “We are all so traumatized.”

Stewart and a companion left the Dunkin’ Friday, after the woman became irate that they had been standing too close to her, with one of the men not wearing a mask, police sources said.

The woman allegedly followed, and threatened to get her boyfriend, Stewart’s friend said. A man showed up moments later and told the woman to “go get my s—t,” said the pal, who said he ran while Stewart stayed behind.

When the friend came back to the scene, Stewart was dead, according to his friend.

Stuart was not even involved in the dispute, a Dunkin’ Donuts worker said.

“She was just arguing for no reason. He was just there, that’s it, just listening,” said the employee, who did not want to be named. “He shot the wrong guy.”
