Investment banker suspended from job after alleged drunken attack on MTA worker

The alleged drunken banker charged with slugging an MTA worker at a Brooklyn subway station has been suspended by his Manhattan investment firm, the company said Sunday.

Jean-Francois Coste, 53, was benched by Tocqueville Asset Management, the Midtown investment firm where he has worked for nearly 15 years, after Friday’s early-morning assault on MTA worker Tanya McCray at a Coney Island subway station, the company said.

“Mr. Coste has been suspended from the firm effective immediately,” the company said in a statement. “Tocqueville Asset Management is completely intolerant of violent behavior and, pending further investigation, will take whatever action is necessary.”

A spokesman for Tocqueville would not say if Coste was suspended with or without pay.

A reportedly inebriated Coste was at the Stillwell Avenue station around 12:15 a.m. when he allegedly punched McCray as she came on the job, according to police.

Police said investment banker Jean-Francois Coste was drunk when he allegedly slugged an MTA worker at a Coney Island station.

Cops said McCray had confronted Coste when the suspected drunken banker tried to get into an employees-only area at the station, with the finance worker slugging her twice in the face when she refused to let him in.

The MTA veteran also fought back against her attacker with her lunch bag, which had a thermos inside, leaving Coste with scratches and a black eye, police said.

Coste took off after the assault but was cornered by transit workers and busted by police, authorities said.

He was charged with assault, harassment and menacing and released without bail.

The Legal Aid Society, which represented Coste at his arraignment Friday, said he has since retained a private lawyer.

The suspect was holed up in his Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, brownstone Sunday.

A spokesman for Local 100 of the Transit Worker’s Union said McCray had just left the “crew room” at the station when she spotted Coste trying to get into a restricted area.

“It’s not a public area,” the spokesman said. “He was apparently drunk. She pushed the door so it clicks and locks, and he punched her in the face at least twice.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Coste has been with Tocqueville since February 2008, and was currently working at the firm as a senior equity analyst.

He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in 1993 and previously earned an MBA in finance at the NEOMA Business School in France.

Coste’s profile has been purged from the Tocqueville company website since the attack, and he has made his Instagram and Facebook accounts private.

He is due back in Brooklyn court March 1.

Friday’s attack occurred two days before a female MTA worker was randomly socked in the face by a nut in a Times Square subway station and her male colleague was viciously kicked in the leg as he took the guy down, cops said.

“We have zero tolerance for attacks on transit workers, and two senseless assaults days apart on employees just trying to do their jobs for the public is outrageous,” said NYC Transit Chief Operating Officer Craig Cipriano in a statement.

“We are grateful that the NYPD made immediate arrests in both cases, at Coney Island and Times Square, and hope the injured workers have a speedy recovery.”

Stephen Colbert Addresses Andy Cohen’s Drunken Behavior On The CNN – Deadline

Tonight on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert, he discusses talk show host Andy Cohen’s drunken antics on CNN’s New Years Eve show.

“This year’s second biggest medical headline is that scientists say there are no hangover cures–which is terrible news for Andy Cohen,” said Colbert.

Cohen and Anderson Cooper were co-host of the CNN live show where Cohen took very public jabs at former New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio, and Ryan Seacrest.

“Usually when someone gets that angry drunk on live tv, they have to go explain their behavior to Andy Cohen,” referring to Cohen’s stint as host on the Real Housewives reunion shows. However, the drunken host addressed his actions on Twitter stating that he was “overserved” on the live show, even though he was making his own drinks.

The CNN control room didn’t fare much better as things were as hectic off screen as they were on screen. They were “duped” into airing tweets from troll accounts like @BenDover837, @Mikeoxlong625, and @DixieNormussss.

Colbert threw in on last joke to tie the whole troll theme together by stating, “Not to mention being pranked by the fakest name of all: Wolf Blitzer.”

Andy Cohen’s drunken de Blasio rant made CNN ‘watchable,’ but was latest example of toxic culture: critics

CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage made headlines when drunken co-host Andy Cohen stood beside anchor Anderson Cooper and blasted outgoing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio in a viral moment that some critics feel “might be the only time of year” the liberal network is watchable while others think the alcohol-fueled rant was inappropriate for a news organization littered with scandal.

“This is just another example of the CNN culture having no guardrails. The CNN brass allowed the situation from which this rant emerged,” DePauw University professor and media critic Jeffrey McCall told Fox News Digital.

Media Research Center vice president Dan Gainor said “the garbage that CNN does every year on New Year’s Eve is not new” but he doesn’t blame staffers for needing an adult beverage after the humiliating year the network suffered through in 2021.

CNN host Andy Cohen’s drunken on-air takedown of former New York mayor Bill de Blasio was “out of control,” according to Jeffrey McCall.

CNN’S ANDERSON COOPER UNCOMFORTABLE AS ANDY COHEN SAVAGES BILL DE BLASIO TO WELCOME IN 2022

The liberal network was forced to fire its biggest star, Chris Cuomo, after he was caught using his media industry connection to help his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, combat sexual misconduct allegations while downplaying his role to both viewers and CNN executives. The network also welcomed back legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin after a degrading masturbation scandal, saw a senior producer get charged with child sex crimes and lost a second producer amid an investigation into “serious allegations involving potential juvenile victims.” All of the embarrassing scandals came as the network struggled to attract viewers in the Biden era.

“If I worked for CNN I’d probably drink a lot, too,” Gainor told Fox News Digital.

Cooper and Cohen famously drink throughout the evening during the network’s New Year’s Eve coverage, with the “AC 360” namesake often going viral for his reactions after downing shots of hard alcohol alongside his hard-partying buddy.

“Frankly, it might be the only time of year CNN is watchable,” Gainor joked before taking a more serious tone.

CNN AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD YEAR

“Anderson Cooper has no claim that he’s above it all. Remember when comedian Kathy Griffin simulated oral sex on Cooper back on New Year’s Eve in 2012? They had her back on after that, only firing her after her horrendous attack on Donald Trump,” Gainor said. “This is just what CNN has become — a clown show.”

Back in 2017, CNN terminated its agreement with Griffin after the comedian’s disturbing photo shoot with a bloodied Trump mask made to look like a severed head of the then-sitting president. At the time, Cooper said he was “appalled” by the stunt. Prior to Griffin’s firing, she was known for stripping, using profanity and other lewd acts that made headlines during CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage.

Cohen replaced Griffin and has since generated headlines for other reasons. This year, shortly after the Times Square ball dropped at midnight on Saturday, Eric Adams was sworn in as New York City mayor, replacing de Blasio after two tumultuous terms.

De Blasio has faced heavy criticism from both sides of the aisle on a multitude of issues, including over the rise in violent crime and stringent COVID-19 policies under his City Hall. An inebriated Cohen was among those gleeful to see de Blasio exit office, mocking him for “his victory lap dance after four years of the crappiest term as the mayor of New York.”

“The only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been. So sayonara sucker! 2022! It’s a new year, because guess what? I have a feeling I’m going to be standing right here next year, and you know who I’m not going to be looking at, dancing as the city comes apart? You!” Cohen rambled.

TWITTER EXPLODES AT CNN’S JEFFREY TOOBIN COMEBACK FOLLOWING ZOOM MASTURBATION SCANDAL: ‘THIS IS CNN’

Cooper appeared alternately amused and uncomfortable as he attempted several times to stop Cohen from going off, and some observers who typically criticize CNN found it to be a breath of fresh air.

“Andy Cohen’s rant about Bill de Blasio was unexpected, particularly for CNN which tends to downplay Democrat politician problems. Whether it was alcohol-induced or just a moment of spontaneous candor, Cohen’s political honesty in that moment was refreshing,” Cornell Law School professor William A. Jacobson told Fox News Digital.

“While I don’t encourage CNN personalities to drink on the job, CNN should consider why an apparent drunken rant was the network’s political moment of the year,” Jacobson said.

Columbia Journalism School professor Bill Grueskin evoked broadcast news legends to mock CNN.

“Not to get all nostalgic or anything but does anyone else remember that time Walter Cronkite got s—faced with Eric Sevareid and blasted John Lindsay on live TV,” Grueskin joked.

“That business has changed,” journalist Quentin Hardy responded.

McCall, a frequent critic of CNN, understands that New Year’s Eve coverage is designed to be less serious than other evenings but feels CNN should still resemble a news network.

“Sure, it’s New Year’s Eve and some lighthearted revelry is in order, but the Cohen outburst just didn’t belong on the once-proud cable channel. And once Cohen’s rant took off, nobody in the production center apparently had enough sense to cut his microphone or switch to another shot,” McCall said. “When you let the hosts get out of control, the channel should expect some out-of-control content.”

Cohen admitted he was inebriated the following morning on Twitter.

Woman living in Idaho faces dozens of charges for allegedly hosting drunken teen sex parties

Editor’s note: The following story contains graphic details that some readers may find disturbing. Discretion is advised.

LOS GATOS, Calif. (KPIX) — A middle-aged Los Gatos woman is facing dozens of charges after allegedly throwing drunken parties for young teenagers where she encouraged sex acts that she would sometimes watch, according to authorities.

The laundry list of 39 offenses — ranging from felony child endangerment and sexual assault to multiple misdemeanor charges of child endangerment and providing alcohol to minors — were detailed in a press release and charging documents filed by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

Shannon O’Connor (aka Shannon Bruga) — a 47-year-old who currently lives in Eagle, Idaho — bought vodka and Fireball whiskey, provided condoms, and discouraged the teens from telling their parents about the parties or calling for help when one of them passed out in their own vomit, according to a statement of facts in the case. The teens at these parties were mostly 14- and 15-years old and included O’Connor’s own teenage son.

Additionally, O’Connor faces felony fraud charges in a separate case for making more than $120,000 in unauthorized charges on a company card she was given as an administrative assistant for Aruba Networks.

The child abuse charges outline a series of O’Connor’s drunken and destructive house parties for young teens that started in June 2020 and continued until May of this year. She would warn the teens not to disclose the parties or she could go to jail. Over time, a total of nine different teenage girls were involved in the parties.

At one party at her home, O’Connor gave an underaged teenager a condom and pushed him into a room with an intoxicated minor. During a New Year’s Eve party at her home with about five 14-year-olds, the defendant allegedly watched and laughed as a drunk teen sexually battered a young girl in bed. In some cases, O’Connor would Snapchat or text teens to leave their homes in the middle of the night and drink at her home, providing the alcohol, prosecutors said.

In another incident, O’Connor let a minor drive her SUV in the Los Gatos High School parking lot while two other teens held on to the back. One fell off and was knocked unconscious.

O’Connor is being extradited and will be arraigned at a later date. She faces incarceration if she is convicted.

“It took a lot of brave children to come forward and to untangle this deeply disturbing case,” Santa Clara County DA Jeff Rosen said in the release. “As a parent, I’m shocked. As the DA, I’m determined to hold those adults who endanger children fully accountable to the law and our community.”

Los Gatos mom accused of throwing drunken sex parties for high school students

A 47-year-old woman from Los Gatos, Calif., faces multiple charges for allegedly hosting high school parties where she served teenagers copious amounts of alcohol and encouraged sex acts that she sometimes watched, authorities said.

Shannon O’Connor, who is also known as Shannon Bruga and now lives in Idaho, allegedly “bought vodka and Fireball whiskey, provided condoms, and discouraged the teens from telling their parents about the parties or calling for help when one of them passed out in their own vomit,” the statement of facts said.

She allegedly lured teens to her house in the middle of the night over SnapChat and text, and warned them not to disclose the parties or she could go to jail, a press release from the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office said.

The parties held from 2020 to earlier this year were mainly attended by 14- and 15-year-olds, and it wasn’t uncommon for teens to drink until the point of vomiting and passing out, the release reported.

O’Connor was charged with 39 criminal counts, including felony child abuse, sexual assault, and providing alcohol to minors. She faces incarceration if she is convicted.

“It took a lot of brave children to come forward and to untangle this deeply disturbing case,” Santa Clara District Attorney Rosen said in a statement. “As a parent, I’m shocked. As the DA, I’m determined to hold those adults who endanger children fully accountable to the law and our community.”

O’Connor faces additional felony fraud charges in a separate case for making more than $120,000 in unauthorized charges on a company card she was given as an administrative assistant for Aruba Networks, the district attorney said.

A statement from the District Attorney’s Office detailed several incidents at wild parties allegedly thrown by O’Connor at her home.

At one party, she allegedly handed an underage teenager a condom and pushed him into a room with an intoxicated minor. At another attended by about five 14-year-olds, the defendant watched and laughed as a drunk teen sexually battered a young girl in bed, the DAt yet another instance, the statement said she allowed a minor to drive her SUV in the Los Gatos High School parking lot while two other teens held on to the back. One fell off and was knocked unconscious, the District Attorney’s Office said.

Jimmy Kimmel Brutally Mocks Trump’s ‘Drunken Wedding Toast’ at Mar-a-Lago

It’s almost as if Jimmy Kimmel is having more fun making jokes at Donald Trump’s expense now that he’s no longer president than he did while he was still in office.

After taking on his “bowl of mashed potatoes in pants” post-presidency body earlier this month, the late-night host turned Monday to the bizarre speech about China, Iran, and the 2020 election that Trump unleashed on an unsuspecting wedding party at his Mar-a-Lago resort over the weekend.

“One of his friends-slash-club member donors got married at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday and the former president had some beautiful words for the bride and groom,” Kimmel said before playing a clip of Trump’s unhinged rant. “You know what? I said the same thing at my brother’s wedding,” the host added. “It was word for word.”

“I love this so much,” he continued. “Watch the band behind him as he goes on and on about how great he was. They’re like, ‘Can we just play ‘Dancing Queen’ and get the hell out of here?’”

“It’s a wedding! It is a wedding!” Kimmel marveled. “I used to be a DJ at weddings when I was in college. I’ve seen some weird toasts, never have I seen one like this. How do you give a drunken wedding toast when you don’t even drink?!”

Finally, after sharing the clip of Trump demonstrating just how little he understands about how voting works, Kimmel told viewers, “This is what he does now. He babbles at weddings. He complains. Whenever someone plays the song ‘YMCA,’ he magically appears like Beetlejuice. So he ended the speech by instructing the guests to violently storm the buffet table.”

Bruce Springsteen arrested at New Jersey national park on suspicion of drunken driving

Bruce Springsteen was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at a national park in New Jersey last year, authorities said Wednesday.

Springsteen, nicknamed the Boss, was arrested Nov. 14 in Gateway National Recreation Area, also known as Sandy Hook, and charges included driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area, according to National Park Service spokeswoman Brenda Ling.

The arrest was first reported Wednesday by TMZ.

Ling said Springsteen, a well-known New Jersey native, was cooperative throughout the process.

Representatives for the rock legend did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

News of the arrest comes days after the debut of Springsteen’s first Super Bowl commercial. In the two-minute spot for Jeep, Springsteen says the country will again see unity and says “there’s hope on the road ahead.”

Fans have long praised Springsteen, 71, for his healthy lifestyle.

In his 2016 autobiography “Born to Run,” Springsteen said he avoided drugs and didn’t try alcohol until he was 22, partially because how he saw how drinking affected his father.

“He’s in good shape by not doing drugs. It’s something he doesn’t have to preach about. He’s a living example of what happens when you never do drugs your whole life,” Springsteen’s E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt told Rolling Stone in 2012, speaking of Springsteen’s stamina on stage.

“I mean, I’m sure he’s taken a drink or two a few times in his life, but he was never a drinker either. And he eats right and he’s in the gym. Well, that’s what happens,” Van Zandt said. “Don’t do drugs. Don’t drink, eat right, go to the gym and you can rock & roll at 62, too.”
