Lady Dimitrescu Will Be Shorter For Resident Evil DLC

Yeah, she’s shorter but you’ll still need Eren Jaeger’s 3D maneuver gear to give her a smooch.

Lady Dimitrescu, otherwise known as Tall Vampire Lady or simply Big Lady if you’re experiencing a loss for words, might have to get a more diminutive nickname that doesn’t reference her towering height come the release of Resident Evil Village’s first major DLC because Capcom will be making her a little bit shorter.

Resident Evil Village’s big upcoming DLC collection, collectively dubbed “Winters’ Expansion”, was first announced back in June during Capcom’s not-E3 broadcast. In it, players will play as protagonist Ethan Winter’s now-teenage daughter, Rose, to tie up loose ends from Village’s story. It will let you play the game’s score attack-style “The Mercenaries” mode as Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu. However, players won’t get to live vicariously as Lady D when it comes to her canonical height in Mercenaries mode.

In an interview with Polygon, Kento Kinoshita, the director for the Winters’ expansion, revealed that Capcom had to nerf Lady D’s height in order to give players a smoother gameplay experience. Ready for Lady DummyThicc’s new height reveal? Here we go. Instead of Lady D towering over you at a whopping 9’6″, she’ll be a bit shy of nine feet tall. If you can’t handle her at her shortest, you didn’t deserve her at her tallest.

During the development of RE Village’s Mercenaries mode, Kinoshita told Polygon that Lady Dimitrescu’s height presented a challenge for developers. Despite the difficulties in translating Lady D’s height into Mercenaries, Kinoshita said the overwhelming fan response to that element of Lady Dimitrescu’s “tall stature” was “too important not to” include in the game mode.

“For The Mercenaries, it’s necessary that the player can control their character easily, and to make that possible we did adjust her height to a little under nine feet tall,” Kinoshita told Polygon. “At that height, the player just barely avoids bumping into the ceiling.”

Kinoshita also revealed that Capcom was also able to preserve Lady D’s “calm, dignified side, [and] excitable, deranged side” in The Mercenaries, so do with that information what you will.

All the Winters’ Expansion updates will launch October 28 and be available both separately, and as a bundle with the original game known as Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.

Resident Evil Village: The Mercenaries Trailer Shows Playable Lady Dimitrescu in Action

Alongside a new trailer, new gameplay details have been revealed for Resident Evil Village: The Mercenaries Additional Orders’ upcoming playable characters Lady Dimitrescu, Chris Redfield, and Karl Heisenberg.

Resident Evil Village producer Tsuyoshi Kanda shared the info on PlayStation.Blog in regards to the newest additon to Resident Evil Village’s Mercenaries mode that will be part of the Winters’ Expansion and the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.

One of the biggest draws to Additional Orders will undoubtedly be a playable version of everyone’s favorite nine-foot-tall villain, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu. When you become Lady Dimitrescu, you will be able to attack enemies with her horrifyingly long and sharp talons and a unique feature called the Thrill Gauge. This gauge will increase by attacking enemies or by using the “Lady’s Lipstick” item.

As the Thrill Gauge increases, Lady D’s movement speed and nail damage will also increase alongside giving her access to new moves. When the gauge is maxed out, so her damage will be at its highest as well. Oh, and you can also summon one of Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters to help you in the fight.

Chris Redfield may not be nine-feet tall, but he does come equipped with some serious firepower and “robust strength.” Chris has an Onslaught Gauge that will fill as he takes down enemies, and he will then be able to activate his onslaught mode to greatly increase his movement speed, reload speed, and attack damage. He will also have access to a Target Locator, which is “capable of unleashing a strong supporting attack.”

Karl Heisenberg is the last of the new playable characters and comes equipped with his huge hammer and the ability to control magnetic forces. By swinging the hammer, Karl can charge electricity to eventually release a massive area-of-effect attack. His attack options also include a Magnetic Field ability to pull enemies close to you and a way to summon a Soldat Jet to give you a helping hand.

Resident Evil Village: The Mercenaries Additional Orders is just part of the Winters’ Expansion headed to Resident Evil Village on October 28, 2022. It will be joined by Village’s first story DLC in Shadows of Rose and a Third-Person Mode.

If this has convinced you to pre-order, those that do will unlock the Street Wolf Outfit for Rosemary Winters to wear as you play through the Shadows of Rose story DLC. The outfit includes an emblem design of Chris’ Houndwolf Squad.

Arceus’ Unique Alpha Pokémon Are Humongous

Screenshot: The Pokémon Company

Early copies of Pokémon Legends: Arceus somehow broke street date last week, setting the internet ablaze with details about the highly anticipated game. We recently took a look at all the new pocket monsters players will be able to train when Arceus launches on January 28, but now it’s time to get into the important stuff: giant Pokémon that folks are being weirdly (if unsurprisingly) sexual about.

Just a warning, everything from this point on will veer close to spoiler territory, so tab away if you’re waiting to see Pokémon Legends: Arceus for yourself.

Pokémon of the same species come in a variety of sizes in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Sometimes you’ll need to catch multiples of the same size while undertaking the game’s research tasks, but it’s unclear if size comes into play elsewhere. One classification of Pokémon, however, always tips the scales, causing some of the taller specimens to absolutely tower over the player. These are known as alpha Pokémon.

“During your expeditions, you’ll sometimes run into alphas: Pokémon that are larger than normal and have glowing red eyes,” the official Pokémon Legends: Arceus website explains. “Alphas will chase you down and attack you when they notice you. They’re tough opponents, but they’ll become great allies if you manage to catch them. They may even drop rare items if you defeat them in battle.”

According to folks who are already studying the inner workings of the game’s code, each individual Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is assigned a size value ranging from zero to 255. This number scales the creature’s model in the game world, producing Pokémon that can be very, very small to monstrously huge. Alphas are always given a 255, making them the largest Pokémon in the game.

Social media is currently being inundated with people infatuated by these huge Pokémon, especially when it comes to species with more human-like qualities.

“This is gonna be this year’s Lady Dimitrescu situation isn’t it,” wrote one Twitter user, comparing a picture of a tall Gardevoir to Resident Evil Village’s massive vampire lady.

“With these big Pokémon in Arceus, we’re about [to] enter the ‘plz step on me’ era of Pokémon,” joked another alongside a screenshot of Lopunny.

One comment on the r/PokeLeaks subreddit even had the audacity to introduce the phrase “Machoke me daddy” to my internal monologue, where it will unfortunately live on as an intrusive thought for the foreseeable future.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus hype is reaching a fever pitch, a din of excitement that’s only grown with the last week of leaks. Here’s hoping this experimental Pokémon game lives up to its lofty potential. In any case, you still have a few days to come up with lewd captions for your giant Pokémon screenshots, so get cracking.

6’9″ Cosplaying Olympian Is Now Resident Evil’s Tall Vampire Lady

This is Yekaterina Lisina, a bronze medal-winning Olympian with the Russian basketball team and now model, with what is surely the most 1:1 cosplay possible of Resident Evil’s Lady Dimitrescu.

I mean…just look at this:

And this:

It took a whole team to get this shoot looking this good, with the dress made by osqurobviously, hair and makeup by beautybyblas, photos by nikolayshlykov, photo editing by shotbyshepherd and assistance by lugovskav and themushroomxiii.

While the character of Lady Dimitrescu is 9’6″, and Lisina “only” 6’9″, it’s important to put those numbers in context, especially since this shoot was done solo.

You can see more of Ekaterina’s modelling and cosplay at her Instagram page.

Resident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu is over nine feet tall

The internet has been going absolutely wild for Lady Dimitrescu, also known as the tall vampire lady from Capcom’s Resident Evil Village. Here’s what we know about her so far: She’s evil, she runs a coven of her daughters, who are “bewitching, vampiric characters,” and I absolutely need her to step on me.

Tomonori Takano, art director on Resident Evil Village, shared a message with fans in light of Lady Dimitrescu’s internet fame. “I hear her height is something of interest…” he writes, which is certainly true. “If you include her hat and high heels, she’s 2.9m (approximately 9’6”) tall.”

As soon as Lady Dimitrescu was revealed, fans got hard to work drawing art and cosplaying the character. That enthusiasm seemingly hasn’t slowed, even though we won’t know what she’s up to or why she’s hunting Ethan until Village debuts in May. If you absolutely need to learn more, a free, stand-alone demo is available on PlayStation 5, and it offers a no-combat tour through Castle Dimitrescu for curious players.

Needless to say, players are proud of Lady Dimitrescu and only want the best for her. Personally, I don’t know why Ethan is thwarting her plans. They seem nice, and I think we should support this icon in all her plans.

Now, there’s one injustice here that needs to be corrected. There’s no denying that everyone loves Lady Dimitrescu. However, everyone also loves her witchy daughters. Are they ominously robed and soaked in blood? Yes, but that’s no reason to be rude and “run away” or “cause problems.” Don’t be so judgmental. I’m sure they’re perfectly nice young ladies.

Sadly, Jeanette Maus, the actress who portrayed this character, passed away on Jan. 27. Fans have donated over $60,000 to a GoFundMe that benefits Maus’ husband and family.

Resident Evil Village will be released worldwide on May 7, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
