All the newly announced DC projects coming to TV and film

Booster Gold (Hi-Fi/DC Comics), Superman (Jim Lee/DC Comics), Damian Wayne (Frank Quitely/DC Comics)
Graphic: The A.V. Club

When Warner Bros. tapped James Gunn and Peter Safran to run DC Studios, we expected they’d draw a new roadmap for the turbulent comics-to-film universe. Now that they’ve revealed plans for their upcoming projects, we have our first sense of what the map looks like, at least for the near future. This first chapter, which Gunn and Safran are calling “Gods and Monsters,” will include 10 new film and TV projects. Gunn and Safran have said they intend to focus on screenwriting and allowing other creators to put their stamp on familiar characters as well as more obscure ones from the comics.

These titles will exist in their own corner of the DC universe, distinct from upcoming releases that predate Gunn and Safran’s tenure. Still to come this year are Shazam! Fury Of The Gods on March 17, The Flash on June 16, Blue Beetle on Aug. 18, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on Dec. 25. Once those are cleared from the slate, the pair expect to launch two films and two series per year from 2024 on. The only DC projects that have broad release dates so far are Superman: Legacy and The Batman: Part II, both due in 2025. Read on for a complete list of all the newly announced titles.

‘Kim Kardashian has purchased’ memes sweep social media after Princess Diana necklace purchase

Kim Kardashian has been at the center of the latest viral meme after purchasing an iconic cross necklace previously worn by Princess Diana for $197,000.

The 42-year-old mogul has been trending on social media over a cornucopia of memes on Twitter which begin ”Kim Kardashian has purchased.’

One of the more hilarious posts involved Hilaria Baldwin’s fake heritage scandal from 2021 as it read: ‘Kim Kardashian has purchased Hilaria Baldwin’s fake Spanish accent for $97,600.’

Breaking the internet once again: Kim Kardashian has been at the center of the latest viral meme

This comes days after she purchased an iconic cross necklace previously worn by Princess Diana for $197,000. Diana is seen wearing it in 1987

Back in 2021, several of 39-year-old Hilaria’s former classmates came forward to confirm that she was raised in Weston, Massachusetts, by American parents without a hint of a foreign accent.

The woman who first exposed the fraud, later told The New York Times that it was an ‘open secret’ in Manhattan that Hilaria had faked her heritage, and that she and her friends, ‘bored’ from the pandemic, decided finally to expose the secret.

In the next few days several videos of Hilaria’s past TV appearances resurfaced showing her commitment to a Spanish accent.

Better days: The woman who first exposed the fraud, later told The New York Times that it was an ‘open secret’ in Manhattan that Hilaria had faked her heritage, and that she and her friends, ‘bored’ from the pandemic, decided finally to expose the secret, Hilaria is pictured with husband Alec Baldwin last month

In one now infamous Today Show video that surfaced, Hilaria appeared to forget the English word for cucumber.

After her American heritage was exposed, Hilaria apologized and said she ‘should have been more clear’ about her connection to the Spanish culture.

Another funny meme was Game Of Thrones related as it had to do with the character potrayed by Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy.

It read: ‘Kim Kardashian has purchased Rhaenyra Targaryens Crown for $500k, TMZ reports.’

There were several other memes which hit the internet including references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Loki, Nicki Minaj, Lord Of The Rings, and even other memes like the ‘blue or white dress’ debate which swept the world in 2015.

Just days ago it was reported that the reality star had  bought the beloved purple amethyst-and-diamond-encrusted Attallah cross pendant during an auction held by Sotheby’s on Wednesday. The UK-based company confirmed the sale to DailyMail.com.

A source close to the SKIMS founder revealed that Kim is ‘honored to be able to own a fine piece of jewelry once worn by the late princess’ and to add to her growing collection of historic memorabilia worn by ‘strong, iconic women who have inspired Kim.’

‘Diana was a woman of incredible style, beauty, and grace. Kim is honored to be able to own a fine piece of jewelry once worn by the late princess,’ the insider told DailyMail.com.

Days ago the reality star, 42, bought the beloved purple amethyst-and-diamond-encrusted Attallah cross pendant during an auction held by Sotheby ‘s on Wednesday

The cross pendant was made in 1920 by the jewelry company Garrard. According to Vogue, Diana was friends with the man who owned it, businessman Naim Attallah, who loaned it to her

‘This beautiful cross pendant will be added to her growing collection of jewelry, all pieces that have been worn by strong, iconic women who have inspired Kim.’

The Princess of Wales famously wore the glittery piece of jewelry during a London charity gala in October 1987. She paired the lavish necklace with a black and burgundy long-sleeved velvet gown, which came with a ruffled neckpiece

The late Princess of Wales, who often made headlines for her bold fashion choices before she tragically passed away in a car accident in 1997, famously wore the glittery piece of jewelry during a London charity gala in October 1987.

She paired the lavish necklace with a black and burgundy long-sleeved velvet gown, which came with a ruffled neckpiece – and between the flashy pendant and the stylish dress, the Princess dazzled at the event.

The enormous cross pendant was made in 1920 by the jewelry company Garrard, and according to Vogue, Diana was friends with the man who owned it, British businessman Naim Attallah. The mogul, who passed away in 2021, loaned it to her for the event.

‘Few people could carry this piece off but Diana really could,’ Naim’s son, Ramsay Attallah, told the outlet in December.

‘When I was growing up, we’d always have it on the table for Christmas lunch, but it was never worn by anyone other than Diana and it hasn’t been seen in public since she died.’

The ‘bold and colorful’ piece came with ‘square-cut amethysts and circular-cut diamonds’ – with a total diamond weight of approximately 5.25 carats.

It is now in possession of Kim, who seems to have a knack for buying clothing and jewelry that were previously owned by famous figures.

In 2011, she scooped up a set of Elizabeth Taylor’s bangles for $65,000, and in 2017, she paid $379,500 for Jackie O’s watch.

In 2011, she also scooped up a set of Elizabeth Taylor’s bangles for $65,000 (seen)

And while she wasn’t able to officially add it to her collection, the mother-of-four also wore Marilyn Monroe’s famous Happy Birthday Mr. President dress to the Met Gala last year

But Kim’s decision to wear the dress parked a slew of backlash from social media users, after it was rumored that she damaged the gown. It is seen with a torn sleeve after she wore it

And while she wasn’t able to officially add it to her collection because it belongs to a museum, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum also wore Marilyn Monroe’s famous Happy Birthday Mr. President dress to the Met Gala last year.

Diana’s ‘bold and colorful’ necklace comes with ‘square-cut amethysts and circular-cut diamonds’ – with a total diamond weight of approximately 5.25 carats

But Kim’s decision to wear the gown at the Anna Wintour-hosted ball sparked a slew of backlash from social media users, after it was rumored that she damaged the gown.

And now, her recent purchase has resulted in more furious fire from online users.

‘She has a weird obsession with dead people’s stuff,’ wrote one Twitter user.

‘She already ruined Marilyn’s dress and now she has Diana’s necklace… You will never be iconic, Kim Kardashian,’ said another.

‘Princess Diana looking down from Heaven, seeing that Kim Kardashian has bought her old jewels,’ someone else added, accompanied by a video of someone asking, ‘Who is this woman?’

A different user tweeted, ‘Kim Kardashian’s damage to fashion history is so disrespectful and gross.

‘And the people who keep selling her these items for profit instead of preserving them for history are no better.’

‘Can she just stop? I literally cannot stand her or her family. They are the epitome of privileged a**holes,’ a fifth tweet read.

Kim’s recent purchase has resulted in furious fire from online users.

‘Is she gonna open a museum of accessories and clothes of dead people that she’s desecrated?’ asked someone else.

‘The truth is that she’s nothing but a chameleon – doesn’t stand out on her own, only molds herself to what is currently popular/trendy,’ wrote another user.

‘That’s why she latches on to these iconic memorabilia from past stars. She has nothing but wealth and cheap tricks in her name.’

‘She can buy iconic items but she will never be an icon,’ read a different tweet.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Kim’s representative for comment.

‘Jewelry owned or worn by the late Princess Diana very rarely comes on to the market, especially a piece such as the Attallah cross, which is so colorful, bold, and distinctive,’ Kristian Spofforth, Head of Jewelery at Sotheby’s said in a statement before the sale.

‘To some extent, this unusual pendant is symbolic of the Princess’s growing self-assurance in her sartorial and jewelry choices, at that particular moment in her life.

‘We are confident that this unique 1920s piece of jewelry by Garrard, with such an exceptional provenance and only ever worn by the Princess herself, will attract the attention of a wide variety of bidders, including royal and noble jewelry collectors, as well as fans of the Princess keen to share part of her history.’

Highlights from Prince Harry’s interview with 60 Minutes

Prince Harry spoke on American television for the first time about his upcoming memoir, “Spare,” in a 60 Minutes Interview with Anderson Cooper. These were some of the revelations from their chat.

Prince Harry describes how he found out about his mother’s death | 60 Minutes

02:59

Harry was 12 when his mother, Princess Diana, was killed in a car crash in Paris. It was August 1997, and Harry was at Balmoral Castle in Scotland with other members of the royal family. In his book, Harry described the moment his father, Prince Charles, woke him up to tell him what had happened.

“In the book you write, ‘He says, “They tried, darling boy. I’m afraid she didn’t make it.” These phrases remain in my mind like darts on a board,’ you say,” Cooper said. “Did you cry?”

“No. No. Never shed a single tear at that point,” Harry said. “I was in shock, you know? Twelve years old. Sort of— 7, 7:30 in the morning, early. Your father comes in, sits on your bed, puts his hand on your knee and tells you, ‘There’s been an accident.’ I couldn’t believe.”

“You write in the book,” Cooper said, “‘Pa didn’t hug me. He wasn’t great at showing emotions under normal circumstances. But his hand did fall once more on my knee and he said, ‘It’s going to be OK.’ But after that, nothing was OK for a long time.'”

“No, nothing, nothing was OK,” Harry said.

Prince Harry refused to accept Diana’s death for years | 60 Minutes

03:47

Harry writes in “Spare” about how he responded in the days and years following the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997. He told  Cooper about how he didn’t believe Diana was dead.

“For a long time, I just refused to accept that she was— she was gone,” Harry said. “Part of, you know, she would never do this to us, but also part of, maybe this is all part of a plan.”

“You really believed,” Cooper asked, “that maybe she had just decided to disappear for a time?”

“For a time, and then that she would call us and that we would go and join her, yeah,” said Harry, who was 12 when his mother died.

Prince Harry says he’s used psychedelics to help cope with grief | 60 Minutes

01:20

Harry says he sought out help from a therapist seven years ago and reveals he’s also tried more experimental treatments to try to cope with grief he still feels from his mother’s death.

“You write in the book about psychedelics,” Cooper said. “Ayahuasca, psilocybin, mushrooms. They were actually important to you.”

“I would never recommend people to do this recreationally,” Harry said. “But doing it with the right people, if you are suffering from a huge amount of loss, grief or trauma, then these things have a way of working as a medicine.”

“They showed you something,” Cooper asked. “What did they show you?”

“For me, they cleared the windscreen, the windshield, the misery of loss,” Harry said. “They cleared away this idea that I had in my head that— that my mother— that I needed to cry to prove to my mother that I missed her. When in fact, all she wanted was for me to be happy.”

Prince Harry says family didn’t include him in travel plans before Queen Elizabeth died | 60 Minutes

01:10

Prince Harry was in London last September for a charity event when the palace announced that Queen Elizabeth II was under medical supervision at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

“I asked my brother— I said, ‘What are your plans? How are you and Kate getting up there?’ And then, a couple of hours later, you know, all of the family members that live within the Windsor and Ascot area were jumping on a plane together,” Harry said. “A plane with 12, 14, maybe 16 seats.”

“You were not invited on that plane?” Cooper asked.

“I was not invited,” Harry said.

By the time Harry got to Balmoral on his own, the queen was dead.

Prince Harry on his family’s reaction to his relationship with Meghan Markle | 60 Minutes

02:55

Harry writes that when he introduced Meghan Markle to his family in 2016, his father initially took a liking to her. But his brother, Prince William, was skeptical.

Others in the family, Harry told Cooper, were also uneasy.

“Right from the beginning, before they even had a chance to get to know her,” Harry said. “And the U.K. press jumped on that. And here we are.”

Prince Harry details his feelings about Camilla, the Queen Consort | 60 Minutes

01:48

In his book, Prince Harry’s portrayal of his stepmother, Camilla, now the Queen Consort, is perhaps the most critical. She married then-Prince Charles in 2005, though the two had been romantically involved on and off for decades. Princess Diana famously referred to Camilla the “third person” in her marriage, and Prince Harry has not forgotten it.

She was portrayed by the tabloids as “the villain,” Harry told Cooper. “She was the third person in their marriage. She needed to rehabilitate her image.”

“You and your brother both directly asked your dad not to marry Camilla?” Cooper asked.

“Yes,” Harry said. “We didn’t think it was necessary. We thought that it was gonna cause more harm than good, and if he was now with his person, that— surely that’s enough. Why go that far when you don’t necessarily need to? We wanted him to be happy. And we saw how happy he was with her. So, at the time, it was, ‘OK.'”

Prince Harry talks about his physical altercation with Prince William | 60 Minutes

01:46

“It was a buildup of– frustration, I think, on his part. It was at a time where he was being told certain things by people within his office,” Harry said. “And at the same time, he was consuming a lot of the tabloid press, a lot of the stories. And he had a few issues, which were based not on reality. And I was defending my wife. And he was coming for my wife. She wasn’t there at the time, but through the things that he was saying. I was defending myself. And we moved from one room into the kitchen. And his frustrations were growing, and growing, and growing. He was shouting at me. I was shouting back at him. It wasn’t nice. It wasn’t pleasant at all. And he snapped. And he pushed me to the floor.”

“He knocked you over?” Cooper asked.

“He knocked me over. I landed on the dog bowl,” Harry said. “I cut my back. I didn’t know about it at the time. But, yeah, he– he apologized afterwards. It was a pretty nasty experience.”

Prince Harry says William told him to “pretend we don’t know each other” in school | 60 Minutes

02:01

Though Harry and William appeared inseparable to the outside world growing up, the two have lived separate lives since the death of their mother.

“Even when you were in the same school, in high school,” Cooper said to Harry, “Your brother told you, ‘Pretend we don’t know each other.'”

“Yeah, and at the time it hurt. I couldn’t make sense of it. I was like, ‘What do you mean? We’re now at the same school,'” Harry said. “Like, ‘I haven’t seen you for ages, now we get to hang out together.’ He’s like, ‘No, no, no, when we’re at school we don’t know each other.’ And I took that personally. But yes, you’re absolutely right, you hit the nail on the head. Like, we had a very similar traumatic experience, and then we— we dealt with it two very different ways.”

60 Minutes reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. Palace representatives demanded that before considering commenting we provide them with our report prior to it airing, which is something 60 Minutes does not do.

Prince Harry says he felt ‘guilt’ walking outside Kensington Palace following Princess Diana’s death

The Duke of Sussex has described the guilt he felt while walking outside Kensington Palace following his mother’s death.

In a clip from Harry: The Interview, which will be broadcast at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday, Harry speaks about his memories of meeting mourners following the death of his mother, the Princess of Wales, in 1997.

The Duke said he and William were unable to show any emotion as they met the mourners.

‘Everyone thought and felt like they knew our mum, and the two closest people to her, the two most loved people by her, were unable to show any emotion in that moment,’ he tells presenter Tom Bradby.

He continues: ‘Everyone knows where they were and what they were doing the night my mother died.’

Harry also says that he cried once in the wake of his mother’s death – at her burial.

‘I cried once, at the burial, and you know I go into detail about how strange it was and how actually there was some guilt that I felt, and I think William felt as well, by walking around the outside of Kensington Palace.’

Harry went on to describe feeling the mourners’ tears on their hands when he shook them outside Kensington Palace in 1997 following Diana’s death.

‘There were 50,000 bouquets of flowers to our mother and there we were shaking people’s hands, smiling,’ he says.

‘I’ve seen the videos, right, I looked back over it all. And the wet hands that we were shaking, we couldn’t understand why their hands were wet, but it was all the tears that they were wiping away.’

‘I cried once, at the burial, and you know I go into detail about how strange it was and how actually there was some guilt that I felt,’ Harry says

Prince Harry (pictured with William and now-King Charles at Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997) has recalled the moment he was told about his mother’s death by his father, whom he claims did not hug him while breaking the news

In a separate teaser for an interview with Good Morning America, Harry added that the ‘rift’ in his relationship with his brother would make his mother ‘sad’

In his new autobiography ‘Spare’, Harry also revealed that his father did not hug him when he broke the news that Diana had been in a car accident.

The Duke, 38, writes about how the King sat him down on the bed to break the news of the car accident, calling him ‘my dear son’ as he told how Diana had sustained head injuries that didn’t look likely to improve.

He writes: ‘What I do remember with stunning clarity is that I did not cry. Not a tear. My father did not hug me.’

Harry recalls how the King ‘examined the folds of the old quilts, blankets, and sheets’ on the bed while breaking the terrible news.

As it dawned how grave his mother’s condition was, he recalls ‘silently begging my father, or God, or both’ that it wasn’t true.

Charles told him that there had been ‘complications’ with Diana’s condition after she had been ‘seriously wounded’ in the crash.

Harry recalls asking to go and visit his mother in the hospital, before Charles explained she ‘hasn’t recovered any more’.

After his father left, The Duke said he sat by himself while his brother William, whom he affectionately calls ‘Willy’, sat in a separate room.

Harry (pictured with Princess Diana and Prince William in 1995) recalls asking to go and visit his mother in the hospital, before Charles explained she ‘hasn’t recovered any more’

Prince Harry’s highly anticipated memoir is set to be released on January 10, but copies have already been leaked

Harry claims his memory has undergone ‘decades of effort to reconstruct that morning’, but after all this time he has come to an ‘inescapable conclusion’ – that he stayed alone in the room until 9am the following morning when the piper began to play outside.

Harry’s heartbreaking recollection of his mother’s death comes as one of many explosive claims from Spare, his long-anticipated memoir which is set for release in the UK on Monday 10 January.

The emotive passage comes after Harry speaks about Diana’s relationship with Dodi Fayed after he and William had met him while on holiday with their mother in St Tropez.

Harry recalls seeing his mother light up in Dodi’s presence as he described the filmmaker as ‘cheeky’ and ‘nice’.

He reflects on a conversation he had with William about their mother’s new partner – and how they both agreed that, as long as she was happy, then they were happy for her.

Elsewhere in the book, Harry relives his memory of the days following his mother’s death and how he battled with himself to accept the truth of the situation.

He recalled how he and William were forbidden from watching the TV so they could be shielded from news reports about the car crash.

After Diana’s sisters had gone to France to identify her body, Harry recalls being reunited with his father and aunties in London, at which point Aunt Sarah (Lady Sarah McCorquodale) handing each brother a little blue box which contained a lock of Diana’s blonde hair.

Harry recalled not believing the hair belonged to his mother, and convincing himself it was someone else’s so he did not have to come to terms with the reality of her death.

Prince Harry says Princess Diana would be ‘sad’ about rift between her sons

Prince Harry is opening up about his relationship with his older brother Prince William, heir to the British throne, and how he thinks his late mother would react to the brothers’ highly publicized rift.

“I think she would be sad,” Harry said, according to a new clip of the interview released Thursday. “I think she’d be looking at it long term to know that there are certain things that we need to go through to be able to heal the relationship.”

He added that he had “felt the presence of my mum more so in the last two years than I have in the last 30.”

Prince Harry tells ABC News’ Michael Strahan he thinks his late mother Princess Diana would be “sad” about the state of his relationship with his brother.

Diana died in August 1997 following a car crash in Paris, France.

The full interview will air Monday on “GMA,” the day before the book’s Jan. 10 release.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry leave after attending the Grenfell Tower National Memorial Service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Dec. 14, 2017 in London.

“Ultimately, what this all comes down to is, I don’t think that we can ever have peace with my family unless the truth is out there,” Harry said in the interview airing Monday.

Harry said previously that the memoir would be a “firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

The Duke of Sussex writes in his memoir about his life growing up in the royal family — including the trauma of losing his mother and his time in the military — as well as his decision to step down from his senior royal role, his healing journey and fatherhood.

Cheers for King Charles as he ignores Harry and Meghan

Londoners today left King Charles in no doubt that he enjoys their support in the wake of Harry and Meghan’s transatlantic tirades in their Netflix mini-series.

His Majesty was given a rockstar’s welcome as he arrived at the JW3 Jewish community centre in Finchley Road, North London, as the Jewish community prepares to celebrate Chanukah on Sunday.

The monarch has maintained his dignified silence and continued his duties while his son and daughter-in-law go rogue in California.

But he didn’t let the hurt show, dancing joyously to the Hora with members of the Jewish community, holding the hands of two pensioners and dancing in a circle to whoops and cheers.

Charles also looked delighted when a crowd gathered to chant his name outside. The King waved furiously and grinned at the well-wishers. It came after crowds turned out at Westminster Abbey to cheer William and Kate last night, shouting: ‘We love you’.

A delighted Charles is swung around the dancefloor as he visited the Jewish community in North London today

The monarch is said to have vowed never to watch the Netflix series, which Harry and Meghan have used to brutally attack Charles, William and Kate.

But while he has stayed silent on the Sussexes,  Charles today spoke of his grief at the tragedy in Jersey.

King Charles III has sent a letter to residents in Jersey giving them his ‘deepest possible sympathy and condolences’ following the island’s recent tragedies.

In a letter signed by the King, he said: ‘My wife and I have been so dreadfully shocked and saddened by the terrible tragedies in St Helier and at sea off St Ouen’s Bay.’

It continued: ‘At this time of great sorrow and grief, my deepest possible sympathy and condolences go to the families and friends who have lost their loved ones, and to all islanders who have been affected by these heart-breaking events.

‘Your immeasurable sense of loss and anguish is very keenly felt and, in the days ahead, the people of the Bailiwick of Jersey will remain in my thoughts and prayers.’

Last night Britons showed their deep affection for the Prince and Princess of Wales as they arrived at Westminster Abbey having maintained a dignified silence as Harry and Meghan went to war with them.

There were audible cheers from members of the public who shouted ‘Kate, we love you’ and ‘Prince William, we love you’ as they stood in the cold to greet the future king and queen.

Inside the Abbey last night, William – watched by the king, George and Charlotte and more than 15 family members – hailed the ‘spirit of togetherness’ at Christmas in the face of relentless attacks by his younger brother and his actress wife.

The Royal Family members gathered for the dignified display of solidarity hours after Harry and Meghan attacked the institution again and again in their Netflix documentary.

Poignantly, William read a passage from the late Queen’s 2012 Christmas message in which Her Majesty said she was ‘always struck by the spirit of togetherness’ at Christmas.

It was a time, she had added, ‘when we remember that God sent his only son to serve, not to be served’. Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have said they will not comment on Harry and Meghan’s claims – with the King said to be determined never to watch the six-part series.

A royal source told the Mirror: ‘Some astonishing claims have been made but the family are determined to stick together and maintain a dignified silence. They will not be dragged into a tit-for-tat row.’

While the palaces have refused to comment on the claims, sources have made clear that there is immense sadness and frustration about the Sussexes’ decision to yet again air family problems in public.

There was no suggestion that William intended the striking message to be contrasted with the example of his own brother, who turned on his family in yesterday’s Netflix series. Indeed it was planned long before the documentary.

Lady Frederick Windsor attends the ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Service at Westminster Abbey. Spearheaded by Catherine, Princess of Wales, and supported by The Royal Foundation, this year’s carol service is dedicated to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

But it will have resonated with many of the 1,800 guests gathered in the Abbey for the concert, staged to recognise the ‘selfless efforts of individuals, families and communities across the UK, and celebrate and showcase the joy that human connection and togetherness can bring’.

The key claims made in Harry and Meghan’s final three Netflix episodes

Here are the key points and revelations from Harry & Meghan:

Episode four

– Meghan said it was ‘really important’ for the King to walk her down the aisle at her wedding to Harry.

– Duchess recalled thinking about taking her own life, saying: ‘It was like, ‘All of this will stop if I am not here’.’

– Harry said it was ‘heartbreaking’ to see his brother’s communications office ‘copy’ the behaviour of their father’s by ‘trading’ stories with the press.

Episode five

– Meghan broke down in tears as she described receiving death threats online.

– Harry said it was his decision to step back as a working royal, not his wife’s.

– Harry claimed the timing of a meeting with senior royals at Sandringham about the couple’s future was deliberately arranged so Meghan could not attend. Harry said his brother began to ‘scream and shout’ at him during their meeting about moving abroad.

– Harry said he wrote to his father in January 2020 to say that he and his wife would be willing to relinquish their titles if the couple’s plan to move to Canada as working royals did not work out.

– The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed the institution ‘blocked’ Harry from seeing his grandmother, the Queen, after they decided to step back as senior royals.

Episode six

– Home video footage appeared to show the couple watching their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey before kissing.

– They claim they saw the interview differently to the world. Tyler Perry claimed they could have said much more.

– Other footage featured Harry holding up his phone to show Meghan a text from William and her reaction is to say ‘wow’ as she looks at its screen.

Kensington Palace said the Together at Christmas carol service, the second concert Kate has hosted, was dedicated to the late Queen and the values she demonstrated throughout her life, including ‘duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion and support for others’.

The palace said these principles were ‘shared and personified by the inspirational guests who have been invited to the abbey in recognition of their tireless work to help and care for those around them’.

A Christmas tree was decorated with small Paddington Bear decorations, a nod to the late Queen’s famous comedy sketch, while guests were greeted with atmospheric snowflakes from a snow machine as they arrived at the entrance.

Kate met and thanked those taking part in the service, including Paddington star Hugh Bonneville and singer Melanie C.

The Waleses were perfectly coordinated, the duchess earing a festive burgundy coat dress believed to be from London-based Eponine, paired with £14 drop ruby earrings from Accessorize and a matching shimmering clutch and gloves, and burgundy heels.

Charlotte, seven, wore a matching £160 burgundy coast from Trotters Heritage, while William donned a complementary shade of navy paired with a matching men’s dress coat and a tie in burgundy.

Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, arrived not long after Kate and was soon joined by Princess Eugenie and Beatrice, who were with their husbands.

Eugenie was seen in the sixth episode of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series, visiting the family at their home in Montecito, California.

Also present was Prince Michael of Kent and his wife Princess Michael. She hit the headlines last week when Netflix revisited the moment she wore a Blackamoor brooch to a Christmas lunch that was attended by Meghan in 2017.

The service will be broadcast on ITV1 on Christmas Eve as part of a Royal Carols: Together At Christmas programme, narrated by Catherine Zeta Jones and featuring an introduction by Kate.

Hours earlier, battle lines were drawn yesterday as Prince Harry accused his brother of ‘bullying’ him and Meghan out of the Royal Family.

In a brutal finale to the pair’s damning Netflix documentary series, he repeatedly attacked William and claimed to have been ‘terrified’ when he was ‘screamed and shouted’ at in a Sandringham showdown.

Harry said his brother authorised aides to brief against him and claimed their father Charles lied to his face at the same meeting. The Queen supposedly failed to intervene because her ‘ultimate mission’ was to protect ‘the institution’.

Harry, 38, suggested the elderly monarch was being manipulated by family members and courtiers for their own ends, thwarting his attempts to meet her to discuss his and Meghan’s plans to quit as  working royals.

Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace declined to comment last night, preferring to keep a dignified silence.

Harry’s grandmother the Queen said before her death that ‘recollections may vary’ when it comes to many of the claims from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Harry and Meghan said that the royals were upset they were ‘better’ at the job, accusing the palace of briefing against them

The Royal Family put on a united front yesterday to attend a recording of the Princess of Wales’s Together at Christmas carol concert, which goes out on December 24.

More than 15 family members – including the King, Queen Consort, William and his two eldest children, George and Charlotte – attended the event at Westminster Abbey to celebrate community champions and highlight the life and legacy of Elizabeth II.

Well-wishers bellowed ‘We love you’ to the embattled family. William read a passage from the Queen’s 2012 Christmas Speech in which she said she was ‘always struck by the spirit of togetherness’ at Christmas.

Harry and Meghan saved their most damaging claims for the final three episodes of the six-part ‘docuseries’, part of a multi-million pound deal with Netflix.

Princess of Wales arrives at children’s center at Harvard University

The Princess of Wales waved at fans as she arrived at a children’s center at Harvard University on Friday morning.

Royal superfans have travelled from as far as Florida and Kentucky to catch a glimpse of Kate Middleton as she visited the center in Massachusetts.

But Kate kept the crowd interaction to a minimum as she arrived at Harvard University- triggering dry laughter and even groans among the crowd who’d hoped she might greet them.

She is travelling without William for this part of the Boston trip. The Prince is due at the JFK Presidential Library this afternoon for a solo tour, where he’ll learn about JFK’s Moonshot project, which inspired the Earthshot prize.

The Princess pulled up in an eco-friendly Range Rover and waved only briefly before disappearing into the building.

She wore an elegant houndstooth ensemble as she greeted officials at Harvard University.

Hundreds of people were gathered at security gates hoping for a close-up view of the Princess of Wales – or even a meet and greet. Many laughed as she quickly went inside the building, and some even groaned because of the short-lived glimpse.

Victoria George, 32, from Boston, wanted to see Kate with her daughters, two-year-old Madeleine and three-month-old Savannah – so she could tell them they’d been in the presence of a future queen.

She said: ‘I’m a huge royal fan, I went to Boston City Hall on Wednesday and I wanted my daughters to get a chance to meet her.’

Victoria, who studied British History and wrote a thesis about royal weddings through history, added: ‘When my daughters find out that the future Queen of England was in town, I want them to have been there.’

Among the fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the Princess was Tamara Thomas – who made the journey with her family from Florida to celebrate her 46th birthday, which falls today.

She loves the royals so much that she named her daughter, who is six, after Queen Victoria.

Tamara, who was joined by Victoria and her husband, Lester Thomas, said: ‘We heard William and Kate were going to be here so we have been planning this trip for a while.

‘I have always loved them and I love their passion for early years with Catherine – and the environment and climate change with William.

‘They are exceptional role models for the younger generation. We took my daughter out of school so she could see them.’

Tamara said that her family also plan to travel to the Earthshot awards tonight for another glimpse of the couple.’

A group of teachers from Benton, Kentucky, said they flew into Boston last night to support Kate as she visits the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University.

Americans have flocked to wait and see the British royals arrive in Massachusetts

The group – Ladonna Ward, Tessa Powell, Angela Morris and Erin Mathis – brought signs which said ‘HRH’ and ‘Kentucky Teachers’.

Ladonna said she’s always been fond of the royals, but Kate is particularly special because of her work with young children.

Tessa added: ‘Early childhood education creates foundations that are essential as a child grows and if they miss that opportunity, often they start out behind.

‘I really respect the work Kate has been doing on children and families.’

Angela said: ‘This is probably the closest we will ever be. Even just a glimpse would be a dream.’

The women, who teach in a mix of elementary and high schools, joked that they had to make the journey because royals will like ‘never’ visit their remote hometown.

Prince William and Kate were brought back together with the African-American Reverend (right) who lectured about the ‘legacy of colonialism’ at their Earthshot launch on Wednesday

The couple pulled off an outfit change in between their second and third engagements of the day, arriving at Boston Harbor Defenses at around 3PM ET having spent the morning visiting two different suburbs

The couple arrived at Boston Harbor Defenses on Thursday afternoon, where they met up with Reverend Mariama White-Hammond, who gave a speech at the Earthshot launch in which she urged people to ‘consider the legacy of colonialism’

Just yesterday Prince William and Kate Middleton’s US tour engagement saw them brought back together with the African-American Reverend who gave a lecture about the ‘legacy of colonialism’ at their Earthshot launch on Wednesday – just hours after Buckingham Palace was dragged into an ugly race row.

The Prince and Princess of Wales came together with Reverend Mariama White-Hammond for their third official engagement on Thursday, which saw them visiting Boston Harbor Defenses despite the biting cold to learn about the impact of rising sea levels on the city’s shoreline.

William and Kate were smiling as they arrived at the harbor – having taken a two-hour break in between events, which may well have given them a chance to discuss some of the controversies that have overshadowed their US trip, from the Buckingham Palace race row sparked by the Prince’s godmother to the release of an explosive trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix documentary.

Such were the biting temperatures that the Prince of Wales apologized for keeping his hands buried deep in his jacket pockets.
