Pokémon Platinum Content Spotted In Diamond And Pearl Remake Trailer

It’s official, The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are arriving this year.

The PR describes how the Nintendo DS originals have been faithfully reproduced. There are also a number of updates, including easy-to-understand and player-friendly conveniences.

All of this has got fans wondering if the content from the third version, Pokémon Platinum, will feature. According to a Twitter user known as ‘voltimer’, there’s a good chance it will, based on the reveal trailer:

As can be seen above, there’s apparently an extra NPC in the Platinum version of Floaroma Town that also features in the Switch version. This character gives you Gracidea if you have Shaymin on hand.

It’s also considered as “more concrete evidence” than the appearance of Porygon-Z in the Switch trailer – which appears in Diamond and Pearl’s post-game.

What do you make of all this? Think it’s a sign of Platinum Version content in the remakes? Leave a comment down below.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are getting remakes for Nintendo Switch

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl will be remade for Nintendo Switch. The Pokémon Company announced the news today during a special Pokémon Presents broadcast. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will launch in late 2021.

Diamond and Pearl launched in 2006 for Nintendo DS. The game introduced the Sinnoh region, home to pokémon such as Bidoof, Luxio, Drifloon, and Arceus. The updated versions have a cute, chibified look, though both are “faithful remakes” of the originals. A trailer released alongside the news today teases familiar locations and faces in the Switch version, as well as some quality of life upgrades. Pokémon Home developer Ilca is working on both games alongside longtime Game Freak director Junichi Masuda .

There’ve been rumors of Diamond and Pearl remakes online for the past few weeks. This year marks the games’ 15th anniversary, alongside Pokémon’s overall 25th anniversary. The company has been celebrating with virtual concerts featuring Katy Perry and Post Malone.

The Pokémon Company also announced an open-world RPG, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, for Switch today.

Lil Uzi Vert’s $24 million diamond forehead piercing explained

Lil Uzi Vert debuted a new accessory on Wednesday with a video showing off a pink diamond attached to his forehead. Now, people are wondering how the rapper got the stone in place and if the seemingly major body modification is safe.

The 26-year-old rapper received a mixed response to his new look from people who called it a third eye or referred to Uzi as a Sims character after he shared the new accessory to Instagram. “Beauty is pain,” he wrote in the caption.

While many assumed Uzi had the stone implanted into his forehead, according to Luis Garcia, the vice president of the Association of Professional Piercers, it’s simply a piercing.

“It looks like he has what we would call a vertical bridge piercing, as in the bridge of the nose. That would be an actual piercing with a staple shape barbell that enters at one point, exits at another, and then the big diamond attaches to that bar on the front,” Garcia tells Yahoo Life. “It’s a piercing, while obviously not super common in typical circles, it’s fairly common in piercing circles. …Definitely not with a giant $24 million diamond on it. But it’s something that gets done.”

With three decades of experience under his belt, Garcia says that the style of piercing is “not dangerous.” However, the nearly 11-carat diamond that Uzi attached to it does pose some risk.

“With such a big piece, the weight of it, day to day life like washing your face, sleeping, rolling around, wearing a hoody, it’s just gonna be so easy to get that thing snagged. That’s really where the main concern is,” Garcia explains. “The chances of it working out are slim.”

It seems that Uzi has been waiting a long time to get the piercing done.

On Twitter, the Penn. native shared that he had been paying for the stone from a jeweler at Eliantte and Co. since 2017.

He then went on to answer questions about the stone and why he didn’t just attach it to a ring, claiming that he is “literally tryna turn into a diamond.”

Garcia admits that while he can imagine that the piece appears “scary” to those who don’t know a lot about piercings, it’s likely the overwhelming appearance of the diamond is what’s leading people to raise questions and criticize the rapper.

“Sure, it’s ostentatious and it’s in your face but so is a grill to a lot of people, which Uzi wears,” Garcia says. “It’s fashion.”

Still, he wouldn’t necessarily recommend that Uzi’s fans and followers run out to get a surface piercing of their own to match.

“We’ve already had a couple of calls about people wanting it done. In one sense it incites interest, which is always good, getting more people that aren’t normally exposed to these trends seeing it and maybe gaining acceptance,” Garcia says. “The hard thing, I would say, you have responsible piercers who would say no to doing something like that. But at the same time, just like in any other business, you have people that aren’t as responsible or businesses that don’t necessarily care that much about quality. So you’re gonna have piercers that are gonna do stuff like that no matter what because they think it’s cool, they want that money. So there’s a downside to it at that sense.”

As for any health risks that Uzi might face for the piercing he got done and the quality of it, Garcia says the worst that can happen is an infection as the skin begins to reject the piece, pushing it out of place.

“Overall, not super risky,” Garcia says. “Worst case, he’s gonna end up with a scar when the piercing rejects or fails, depending on how long he keeps it in.”

Dustin Diamond remembered by ‘Saved By The Bell’ co-star Tori Spelling

Tori Spelling paid tribute to her late “Saved by the Bell” co-star Dustin Diamond following his death at age 44.

The actor was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma cancer last month. His agent told Fox News that Diamond died on Monday “due to carcinoma.” It didn’t take long for his regular co-stars on the hit sitcom to speak out and eulogize the late star.

Among them was Spelling, who shared a lengthy caption about Diamond on Instagram along with a black-and-white photo of them as children on set. Spelling had a run on in 1990 as the girlfriend of Diamond’s Screech character, Violet Bickerstaff.

“My 1st onscreen love Dustin Diamond got his Angel wings today…” she began her note.

She continued: “Before there was David and Donna there was Screech and Violet. Dustin was my first on-screen kiss. He welcomed me with open arms onto the set of ‘Saved By the Bell.’”

The “Beverly Hills 90210” actress went on to reveal that Diamond took a special interest in making sure she was comfortable and felt welcome on the show, which she remains grateful for to this day.

“As one can imagine being the newbie on a hit show was overwhelming for a 14-year-old girl. He not only showed me around but made sure I was always ok. Such a young gentleman. He was kind, smart, and always making everyone laugh,” she wrote. “He was a great scene partner. He was a really good guy. I’m sad after the show we never had much contact aside from occasionally running into each other at events.”

Diamond’s rep told Fox News that his “brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer” spread quickly in the three weeks since it was diagnosed.

“Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful,” he explained.

Spelling ended her note by expressing her relief that Diamond did not suffer.

“I’m glad he’s out of pain. He’s an icon to me professionally and personally. RIP Samuel love, your Violet,” she concluded.

Diamond portrayed Screech for 13 years. He also starred in several reality TV shows including Season 5 of “Celebrity Fit Club,” “The Weakest Link” and “Celebrity Boxing 2.”

He made cameo appearances in films such as “Made” (2001), “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star” (2003) and “American Pie Presents: The Book of Love” (2009). Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond, 44, might have only ‘weeks to live’

Dustin Diamond may have only weeks to live as he battles Stage Four cancer, according to a close friend of his.

On Monday his pal Dan Block gave a health update on the 44-year-old Saved By The Bell actor to The Sun.

Block claimed Diamond may have as little as ‘a few weeks to live’ with a chance of being able to stay alive for several months. And there is a very slim chance he can make it another two years at most.

‘We do not have any specific timelines, but we know that Dustin needs a miracle to overcome the small cell carcinoma he’s been diagnosed with,’ Block told the site.

The friend also listed the two things Dustin wants to do before he passes away.

Longtime friends: Dustin, left, and his friend Dan, right, who talked to a British publication

‘He was told weeks to 5 months is the average but a small percentage of people have lived one to two years with it being stage 4,’ added Dan.

He then shared, ‘We are hoping that he is one of the people to outlive the odds and that we get as much time with him as possible.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Dustin’s rep for comment.

Dan said Dustin had a ‘huge lump’ in his neck for a while but was afraid to seek medical help because he feared trolls would get photos of him and post them online then make nasty comments.

‘I know that the reason he didn’t get help is because when he goes out people take pictures, put it on the internet and say not nice things about him,’ Dan said. ‘He’s subject to public ridicule all the time and it sucks. People need to know he is a human.’

His hit show: On Saved By The Bell; (l-r) Mario Lopez as Alabert Clifford ‘A.C.’ Slater, Dennis Haskins as Mr. Richard Belding, Lark Voorhies as Lisa Turtle, Tiffani Thiessen as Kelly Kapowski, Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie Spano, Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zachary ‘Zach’ Morris, Diamond as Screech Powers

But in January Dustin went to the hospital because he had pain all over his body; that is when he was told he had cancer.

He has already gone through his first round of chemotherapy in a hospital, according to TMZ.

According to his reps, Dustin was officially diagnosed with ‘stage four small cell carcinoma.’ ‘This is commonly referred to as advanced lung cancer,’ TMZ reported, adding that in this instance, the ‘cancer started elsewhere in his body and metastasized in his lungs.’

Dan has also said that Dustin has two wishes before he dies: to talk to the bassist from his favorite band Tool and to visit the Star Wars section of Disney World in Florida.

A place to go: The star would also like to see the Star Wars section of Disney World in Florida; here is a look at the section in California’s Disneyland

‘Dustin was learning to play several Tool songs and wanted to start a Tool tribute band,’ Dan Explained. ‘He was in the process of starting the band before being diagnosed with cancer.

‘He would play the song and play along with his bass while watching YouTube videos. It would be amazing if Justin saw this article and could reach out – it would be granting one of Dustin’s dying wishes and we would greatly appreciate it.’

The friend also called Dustin ‘a huge Star Wars fan’ so he wants to get him to the Star Wars section of Disney World.

‘We’re hoping we can find a way to arrange that,’ added Dan.

Better days: In 2002, Diamond posed during Celebrity Boxing 2 Weigh-In at KTLA Studios in Hollywood

Tough setback: Dustin’s hospitalization was reported on January 12, and just says later, a representative for the actor confirmed the news. His rep said: ‘At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer’; seen in 2012

Last week a source said Diamond is ‘going through a lot of pain’ amid his cancer battle. Sources have said the actor is ‘going to be in the hospital for a while’ as he undergoes treatment, and going through ‘ups and downs’ both physically and emotionally.

The insider said: ‘It’s not good, it’s not good at all. He’s going to be in the hospital for a while. He’s getting through his treatments now. It’s tough, it’s very hard.

‘He’s going through a lot of pain, but he still keeps his spirits up. Right now, he’s just suffering. He has his ups and downs where he’s great one minute, but then he can be in a lot of pain – tears. It’s such an emotional time.’

But Dustin has the full support of his loved ones, who are ‘calling him every day’ to make sure he’s okay.

The source added to Us Weekly magazine: ‘Those close to him try calling him every day to try to cheer him up. He has a handful of people who are in his close circle — his girlfriend being one of them. They have no idea when he can go home.’

Another TV show: Diamond and Courtney Stodden on Celebrity Big Brother in Britain in 2013

Dustin’s hospitalization was reported on January 12, and just says later, a representative for the actor confirmed the news. His rep said at the time: ‘At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer. Dustin will disclose more information once it is available and a plan moving forward is made.

‘We ask everyone to respect Dustin’s privacy during this difficult time. All positivity and prayers are appreciated.’

Dustin’s team also provided fans with postal and email addresses to send letters to the actor to send their support but stressed they shouldn’t be used for autograph requests.

This comes after former SBTB co-star Mario Lopez said he was ‘praying’ Dustin will beat cancer. The 47-year-old actor has taken to Instagram to voice his support for his friend.

Alongside some throwback photos with his former co-star, Mario – who played A.C. Slater on the sitcom – wrote: ‘I connected with Dustin earlier this evening and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he’ll overcome this. Praying for him & his family and for a speedy recovery. God Bless.’

Dustin Diamond completes first round of chemotherapy for cancer treatment

A representative for the actor said on Thursday that Diamond, known for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers on the hit ’90s teen series, has completed his first round of chemotherapy treatment, with another to follow.

Diamond, who revealed his diagnosis last week, will begin physical therapy soon, Paul added.

Diamond played Screech for more than a decade, appearing in four different incarnations of the “Saved by the Bell” franchise.
