Britney Spears not in danger, police say after wellness check calls
Britney Spears is not in any kind of danger, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday after concerned fans asked the department for a wellness check.
“I can confirm that we did get calls into our dispatch, and essentially, I can confirm that we don’t believe that Britney Spears is in any kind of harm or any kind of danger,” a police spokesperson said.
The officer did not disclose just how many calls they received and said they would not reveal whether they made direct contact with Spears, 41, or how they knew she was fine.
The police spokesperson explained their reason for providing minimal details was due to the fact that any more transparency was a “public trust issue.”
“It’s just a privacy thing for the residents in our county,” the officer said. “It’s a public trust issue. We just don’t disclose those kinds of things [such as wellness checks]. It’s not a crime.”
“We don’t really talk about any kind of mental health issues or anything like that,” he added before reiterating, “I can’t confirm or deny that deputies went to her house, but we don’t believe that Britney Spears is in any kind of harm or danger at this point.”
Some of the worried fans who made the calls to police took to TikTok Tuesday to livestream the wellness check requests.
“I was calling because I am worried about the physical safety of a resident in your area,” one of the callers, who identified herself as “Christina,” can be heard saying in the clip.
When the officer asked why the fan wanted a wellness check, “Christina” responded, “There’s been suspicious activity online and now her account has been deleted.”

Spears has deleted her Instagram multiple times in recent years, and although the reason for her latest hiatus is unclear, a source previously told Page Six exclusively that the “Stronger” singer just likes to take social media breaks every now and then.
“She’s happy and in a great place,” the source said in September 2021, adding, “and silence can be a powerful thing and a powerful message.”
The insider also affirmed at the time, “This was her decision.”
Prior to Spears’ most recent Instagram shutdown, the “Hold Me Closer” singer posted a photo of a car and a lengthy caption, in which she spoke about a variety of things, but most notably wrote, “sucks to be me” and “Giving someone I love my everything only gives me the dagger in my heart !!!”
People speculated that perhaps this message was alluding to marital strife since a recent report claimed Spears’ husband, Sam Asghari, walked out on the “Piece of Me” singer while they were dining at a restaurant and fans were invading their privacy.
However, the “Family Business” actor quickly shut down those allegations, writing on his Instagram Stories, “Don’t believe what you read online people.”
Reps for Spears did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on the wellness checks.

The historic center of the Ukrainian port city of Odesa and sites in Yemen and Lebanon were added to the World Heritage List Wednesday by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
All three sites were simultaneously added to UNESCO’s List of World Heritage in Danger.
UNESCO’s founding Convention obliges all members – among whom are Russia and Ukraine – to “not take any deliberate measures that directly or indirectly damage their heritage or that of another State Party to the Convention.”
Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, said in a statement that he hoped the listing would help protect Odesa from the war.
“Odesa, a free city, a world city, a legendary port that has left its mark on cinema, literature and the arts, is thus placed under the reinforced protection of the international community,” Azoulay said.
“While the war continues, this inscription embodies our collective determination to ensure that this city, which has always surmounted global upheavals, is preserved from further destruction.”
The statement said that the decision would give Ukraine access to “technical and financial international assistance” to protect and rehabilitate the city center.
The inscription was made during an extraordinary session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris.
The meeting addressed three threatened sites:
• Historic Center of Odesa (Ukraine)
• Rachid Karami International Fair-Tripoli (Lebanon)
• Landmarks of the Ancient Kingdom of Saba in Marib Governorate (Yemen)
All three are now listed on both the World Heritage List and the List of World Heritage in Danger.
In Yemen, the site includes seven archaeological sites that show the architectural, aesthetic and technological achievements of the Kingdom of Saba from the 1st millennium BCE to the arrival of Islam around 630 CE.
The site was added to the “in danger” list due to threats posed to the site from the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
The site in Lebanon, Rachid Karami International Fair in Tripoli, was designed in 1962 by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Its main building is a boomerang-shaped covered exhibition hall.
“It is one of the major representative works of 20th-century modern architecture in the Arab Near East,” UNESCO said in a news release.
It was added to the threatened list due to its “alarming state of conservation, the lack of financial resources for its maintenance, and the latent risk of development proposals that could affect the integrity of the complex,” UNESCO said.

Mom of missing Madalina Cojocari believes husband ‘put her family in danger’
The mother of missing North Carolina sixth-grader Madalina Cojocari told cops she “believed her husband put her family in danger” — and that he fled their home after a fight on the night she last saw her daughter, according to court documents.
The starling accusations emerged Wednesday as police descended again to search the family’s home in Cornelius — where officers previously found an area blocked off with plywood, according to WCNC.
It also came as the FBI and local cops released a handwritten statement from the 11-year-old schoolgirl’s family saying they were “devastated and absolutely heartbroken” and “desperate to find her.”
“We love Madalina and are shocked by these circumstances. This is something no child or family should ever have to endure,” the letter said of the “beautiful, smart, kind and loving 11-year-old girl with greatness in her future.”
The family did not identify who was behind the statement. Madalina’s mother Diana Cojocari, 37, and stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, 60, have both been charged with failing to report her missing for at least 22 days.
During police interviews, Cojocari told detectives that on Nov. 23 — the same night she last saw her daughter — she’d argued with her husband, according to an affidavit obtained by Queen City News.
Palmiter then drove off to be with family in Michigan, which is at least 550 miles and a nine-hour trip from their North Carolina home.
The mom said she saw her daughter going to her room at 10 p.m. that night, the report said, without elaborating on whether it was before or after Palmiter had left and the fight ended.
It was more than 12 hours later, on Thanksgiving morning, that she realized her daughter was not home, she reportedly told cops.
She waited three days before telling Palmiter that his stepdaughter was missing — and weeks more before admitting to Madalina’s school that she did not know where the sixth- grader was.
When questioned, Cojocari told a detective that she “believed her husband put her family in danger” — and that she delayed reporting her daughter missing over fears it would damage her marriage.
The affidavit did not elaborate on why she felt endangered, or if it was directly related to Madalina’s disappearance, the outlet noted.
The mom also admitted ignoring pleas from relatives in her native Moldova to call the police, the report said, without stating if it was to report her husband, her missing daughter or both.
Despite her claims, Cojocari insisted in police interviews that she had no idea where her daughter was, stressing that she had no friends or family in the area that she might be staying with, the outlets said.

Earlier this week, the FBI released video footage of Madalina getting off a school bus on Nov. 21, stressing that it was the last confirmed sighting of her, two days before her mom claims she last saw her.
The FBI said it hoped the video would spark witnesses “outside of the family” who could “narrow down the exact timeline of when she disappeared.”
Local cops have also asked locals to “flood the area” with photos showing “her precious face.”
