■ About

The latest chapter in the Trails [30 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/series/trails”>Trails saga is finally here! The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- features a streamlined version of the battle system from its predecessor, which swiftly and seamlessly transitions from field battles to command-based turn battles, as well as the LGC Alignment system, which allows players to change their character’s three unique attributes (Law, Gray, and Chaos) according to their playstyle, influencing their status, the forces they fight with or against, and even how the plot unfolds!

Furthermore, The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- is loaded with unique content, including a variety of new challenges throughout the Republic of Calvard.

■ Prologue

S.1209. After the threat of the mafia organization Armata was gone, the Republic of Calvard regained its former peace. But one day, in a corner of Edith City, a bizarre incident occurs in which a CID (Central Intelligence Department) special operations squad was found slaughtered.

The Calvard Police and Bracer Guild begin investigating the matter. But sensing that a new time of chaos may come, underground factions also start making moves.

Meanwhile, Spriggan Van Arkride also begins his investigation, kickstarted by a visit from an unexpected someone.

Who is the culprit behind the massacre? Why did they do it? And what will happen to Agnes, who is searching for the Eighth Genesis, the last legacy of her great grandfather?

The brutish roar of a crimson beast, and an encounter with a young boy and girl seeking “something” will lead them down a “Trail” that they cannot escape.

Alabama Crimson Tide star quarterback Bryce Young does not start against Texas A&M Aggies

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama star quarterback Bryce Young did not start Saturday night’s game against Texas A&M as he continues to deal with shoulder soreness in his throwing arm.

Young dressed out and was one of three team captains for the game but did not attempt any passes during pregame warm-ups. Shortly before kickoff, Young was announced in the stadium as the starter.

Instead, Jalen Milroe, who scored two touchdowns in relief of Young during last weekend’s win at Arkansas, got the start.

Young, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner and a possible first-round pick in next year’s NFL draft, was injured during the first half at Arkansas when he scrambled, was tackled and landed on his throwing shoulder.

Saban told ESPN on Thursday that there was no structural damage done to Young’s shoulder. Saban said the injury is not expected to keep Young out long term.

Young took reps at practice this week but was limited throwing the football.

Saban consistently said throughout the week that Young’s availability would be evaluated daily and that the decision whether or not to play would be done in consultation with Young and the medical staff.

“He’s the only one who knows how he feels because it’s going to be a pain-tolerance thing,” Saban said on Thursday. “He’s a tough kid and great competitor. We’ll see where he is on game day.”

A redshirt freshman from Texas, Milroe threw for 65 yards and a touchdown against Arkansas. He also rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.

No. 1 Alabama goes on the road to No. 8 Tennessee next Saturday.

Texas Longhorns’ Quinn Ewers knocked out of game vs. No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide in first quarter

Texas’ Quinn Ewers will not return to Saturday’s game against No. 1 Alabama after the freshman quarterback left with an apparent left shoulder injury after being driven into the ground by the Crimson Tide’s Dallas Turner.

Ewers was taken to the locker room for an X-ray after the injury in the first quarter, sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel. He was wearing street clothes when he returned to the sideline in the second half.

Turner was flagged for roughing the passer after landing on Ewers on the first-quarter play, with the official saying it was because he drove Ewers into the turf.

Ewers immediately grabbed his left shoulder after the hit and stayed down on the field while special assistant to the head coach Gary Patterson and trainers attended to him. After going to the sideline, Ewers went to the medical tent before then heading to the locker room with a towel over his head.

He had kept Alabama on its heels, going 9-of-12 for 134 yards, and had just completed a 46-yard pass to Xavier Worthy to the Alabama 1-yard line on the previous play.

Hudson Card relieved Ewers, and Bijan Robinson scored two plays later to tie the score at 10-10 on the first play of the second quarter.

Ewers, a highly touted transfer from Ohio State, made his first collegiate start last week against Louisiana-Monroe, going 16-of-24 for 225 yards and two touchdowns and one interception in a 52-10 win.

Alabama football recruiting: Four-star OT Olaus Alinen commits to Crimson Tide over Georgia, Ohio State

247Sports

Alabama continued its recruiting success for the 2023 class, as four-star offensive tackle Olaus Alinen announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide live Friday on CBS Sports HQ. Alinen chose the Alabama and coach Nick Saban over a finalist list that included Miami, Georgia, Oregon and Ohio State. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound senior from Loomis Chaffee School is the No. 118 overall prospect and No. 17 offensive tackle in the Top247 rankings, in addition to being the No. 1 recruit in the state of Connecticut.

Alinen’s father, Klaus Alinen, also has football experience, having attended multiple NFL camps and playing in NFL Europe. Alinen moved to the United State from Finland prior to his junior season.

Described as “forceful with initial punch” by 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn, Alinen is known to play aggressively while staying engaged on blocks. For now, Alinen has mid-round NFL draft potential but could improve his stock through his college career. Here’s his scouting report below:

Tough for defenders to disengage. Sinks hips and uncoils well when engaging defender. Is consistent with hand placement and is quick to place inside on defenders. Shows foot speed and is technically sound with steps when pulling. Has body control to block at second level in space. Is quick to scrape and get to linebackers. Solid in pass pro because of his length and ability to move laterally but has to work on kick step. Is able to mirror but sometimes reaches rather than staying patient in base. Has to make sure he keeps size in check. Multi-year starter at high-level college program.

Alabama continues on recruiting a roll, as Alinen becomes the 14th addition to their 2023 class. His commitment vaults the Tide into the top 10 of the 247Sports team recruiting rankings.

The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- teaser trailer, first details and screenshots

The teaser trailer shows bits of the bizarre incident that kicks off the story! While various organizations work to solve the case, someone pays the Spriggan Van Arkride a visit…

The details introduce characters Van Arkride, Agnes Claudel, and Elaine Auclair, as well as the game’s story synopsis.

■ Characters

Van Arkride (voiced by Daisuke Ono)

  • Age: 25
  • Height: 180cm
  • Affiliations: Arkride Solutions Office
  • Weapon: Stun Caliber

A young man who works as the head of the Arkride Solutions Office in Edith City, and a self-professed lover of sweets, saunas, and orbal vehicles.

As a Spriggan, he differs from the police or bracers in that he handles requests in the “gray” area, but is well connected in both the public and underworld of society due to his work.

While searching for the eight prototype orbments known as the “Oct-Genesis” at Agnes’ request, he transformed into the bluish-black creature known as Grendel through the Hollow Core Mare installed to his combat orbment, and fought against the mafia organization Almata in various places.

With the destruction of Almata, whose struggle over Genesis terrified the Republic, the members of the Office temporarily disbanded.

Van currently seems to be living his hard-boiled days (his words) alone and carefree in an empty office.

Agnes Claudel (voiced by Miku Itou)

  • Age: 16
  • Height: 158cm
  • Affiliations: Aramis High School, Arkride Solutions Office
  • Weapon: Orbal Staff

A first-year student at Aramis High School, a prestigious school in Edith City, and a member of the student council and General Affairs department.

Characterized by her polite speech and tidy-and-kind atmosphere, she has a strong will that can never be tainted—even in the face of the “darkness” of society and “gray matters” that come with being a Spriggan.

She met Van while searching for the eight prototype orbments known as the “Oct-Genesis”—the legacy of her great grandfather—and continues her search as she works part-time as his assistant.

With seven of the eight Genesis in-hand, she is currently preparing for the School Arts Festival while regularly helping out at the Office and searching for the Eighth Genesis.

While she respects Van as head of the Office, she also seems to hold special feelings for him…

Elaine Auclair (voiced by Chiwa Saitou)

  • Age: 24
  • Height: 168cm
  • Affiliations: Bracer Guild
  • Weapon: Knight’s Sword

An A-rank bracer in the Republic of Calvard who works as an ace under the nickname “Sword Maiden.”

Her master-class skills with a sword and dignified good-looks have made her the center of media attention, but she has declined interviews from every industry, including model magazines and acting, outside of any coverage as a poster girl the Bracer Guild.

During her school days, she spent the brief flowers of her youth with Van as sweethearts, but he disappeared one day without warning. Seven years later, they reunited.

While their strained relationship continued with each holding onto the past, they were able to gradually meet each other halfway.

—Meanwhile, news comes in that the Central Intelligence Department’s Gamma Squad [5 articles]” href=”https://www.gematsu.com/companies/squad”>Squad was slaughtered by someone in a corner of Edith City, and that a “crimson beast” was found at the scene…

■ Story

Rocker Ian McDonald of King Crimson and Foreigner dies at 75

Ian McDonald, a co-founder of pioneering progressive rock band King Crimson and stadium rock hit-maker Foreigner, has died. He was 75.

A representative said McDonald died Wednesday at his home in New York City. Son Max McDonald said his father had been suffering from cancer.

“He was incredibly brave and never lost his kindness or his sense of humor, even when the going was rough,” Max McDonald said in a statement “My father was a brilliant, intuitive musician, a gentle soul and a wonderful dad. He will live on forever through his beautiful music and the love of his fans.”

Born in London in 1946, McDonald formed King Crimson in 1968 with fellow musicians who included Greg Lake and Robert Fripp. He played multiple instruments, including saxophone, flute and vibraphone, on the band’s 1969 debut album, “In the Court of the Crimson King.”

The album is now considered a landmark in bringing classical influences, epic length and mythic scope to rock ‘n’ roll.

Its influence endures: Kanye West sampled the track “21st Century Schizoid Man” on his 2010 single “Power.”

McDonald left King Crimson after that first album, though he later rejoined briefly before Fripp broke up the band in 1974.

In 1976, McDonald formed Foreigner with British guitarist Mick Jones and American singer Lou Gramm. He played on three albums, which all made the U.S. Top 10, and yielded hits such as “Cold as Ice” and “Feels Like the First Time” before Jones fired him in 1980.

McDonald was also a prolific session musician, playing on classics such as “Get It On” by T Rex.

Former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett said he had admired McDonald “ever since I was in the teens, when I was totally bowled over by the King Crimson show at the Marquee in London.”

“Ian was both a fabulous composer and an amazing multi-instrumentalist,” Hackett said. “I have always been full of admiration for his solo work, as well as everything he did with Crimson and Foreigner, amongst others.”
