Rihanna x Johnny Depp collab sends internet into a spin: ‘This is epic’

Johnny Depp has seemingly gone from zero to hero in the pop culture stakes, with one of the biggest music stars in the world set to feature him in her new show.

Sources have told TMZ that Depp will make a guest appearance in Rihanna’s upcoming Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 fashion show.

No, he won’t be walking the runway in a choice bit of loungewear.

Instead, he will appear in a pre-filmed “star” moment – the first male to take the role in the history of the fashion shows, which have previously featured the likes of Cindy Crawford and Erykah Badu.

Depp has already filmed his cameo moment, TMZ reports.

Sources told the outlet Depp’s style in the video is “cool and chic”, as befits his trademark rock and roll style.

Depp and Rihanna fans went wild when the news was announced by TMZ on social media.

“OMG I love this,” one fan wrote.

“I almost dropped my phone – this is epic,” said another.

“YESSSS YES YES YES JONNY X RIHANNA,” another enthused.

“Ooooh, this should be fun!” another remarked.

Bizarre appearance

It remains to be seen whether Depp’s appearance in Rihanna’s fashion show will be a hit or a miss.

He recently made a rather bizarre “cameo” appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, appearing as a floating astronaut hovering above the crowd.

The actor and musician’s face was digitally imposed inside the helmet of a space man, the inspiration for the VMAs Moon Person statue, and he delivered brief jokes throughout the live ceremony.

“I needed the work,” the Pirates of the Caribbean star joked at the start of the show, held in August.

Later in the ceremony, Depp said he was available for “birthdays, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, weddings, wakes, any old thing you need.”

In June this year, Depp won a near-total victory in his legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, who had accused him of physical abuse.

Depp denied hitting her or any other woman.

Two years earlier, Depp lost a libel suit in Britain against the Sun tabloid, which called him a “wife beater”.

A London High Court judge ruled Depp had repeatedly assaulted Heard.

He was soon dropped from Harry Potter spin-off franchise Fantastic Beasts and largely shunned by Hollywood.

Revived career

However, since his US court victory, Depp’s career has started to revive itself.

He has performed music on tour with Jeff Beck and is set to direct Modigliani, a biographical drama about Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani.

The actor also is set to play King Louis XV in French film Jeanne du Barry, and his lucrative contract for the Dior fragrance Sauvage has also been renewed.

Drake and 21 Savage Collab Album Her Loss Delayed

Drake and 21 Savage’s highly anticipated collab album Her Loss has been delayed.

Tonight (Oct. 26), Drake announced via his Instagram Stories that his surprise collab album with 21 Savage has been delayed until next Friday, November 4, instead of its initial date of this Friday, October 28.

“Our brother @OVO40 got COVID while mixing and mastering the crack so he’s resting up and NOVEMBER 4th is HER LOSS day we’ll see you soon.”

Earlier this week, Hits Daily Double reported via “inside sources” that the album “was as much of a surprise to Republic brass as it was the artist’s fans” when it was announced last Saturday afternoon (Oct. 22).

The news of Her Loss came via a music video for Drizzy and 21’s most recent collab, “Jimmy Cooks,” which featured the message “HER LOSS – ALBUM BY DRAKE AND 21 SAVAGE – OCTOBER 28, 2022” across the screen around the clip’s halfway point.

“Jimmy Cooks” is the exit track on Drake’s most recent album, Honestly, Nevermind, which dropped earlier this year to less-than-favorable reviews. The A-list MC caught backlash for the record’s predominate focus on house music, as he dropped it without revealing that it wasn’t a hip-hop release.

The day after Honestly, Nevermind dropped, Drake responded to those critiquing the album. “It’s all good if you don’t get it yet. It’s all good,” he said in an IG video. “That’s what we do. We wait for you to catch up. We’re in here, though. We’re caught up already. On to the next. My goodness.”

Why Tony Hawk is stoked about his ‘fun and irreverent” collab with Hot Wheels

Hot Wheels Skate is a line of “fingerboards” — mini skateboards used to simulate skateboarding tricks using the middle and index fingers. The toys were first popularized by professional skateboarder Lance Mountain in the 1980s.

The Tony Hawk fingerboards and matching playsets, featuring ramps and other skate park elements, will be available exclusively at Walmart. For beginners, the sets even include clip-on “skate shoes” that clip to the boards, making them easy for kids of all ages to use.

Hawk, 54, told CNN that he’s most excited about the fact that the line is suitable for fingerboarders of all skill sets.

“I loved the direction they had because it was more for all skill types,” he said. “Also just their creative team is so amazing. So the playsets that they have are really fun, and irreverent. And so it just seemed like a really cool angle and take on on fingerboarding as a whole.”

For Hawk, the beginner-friendly ethos of the fingerboard sets stems from the inclusivity skateboarding symbolizes in general.

“I feel like skateboarding is the great equalizer,” he said. “And anyone is invited to jump in. You’re only judged by your skating and not by your background. And uniqueness is key — uniqueness is welcome.”

As part of the partnership, Hot Wheels announced that they will donate to The Skate Park Project, a non-profit organization Hawk started to create public skateparks around the US.

The organization is “important to me because I grew up near one of the last skate parks in the US,” he said. “That was my home away from home, that’s where I found my sense of community, where I found my friends, my sense of identity. And it was never lost on me how lucky I was to have that.”

“And so when I had some sort of success, I thought the best thing I can do with that is to provide more of these places that meant so much to me as a kid,” he went on. “It’s more about developing a place for your community, not about trying to raise professionals.”

Hawk retired from professional skateboarding in 2003, but has continued to champion the sport, helping transform it from a counterculture activity to a defined and rigorous sport with prestigious competitions. In 2021, the sport even premiered in the Olympics, a move that Hawk said has helped show people just how “disciplined and how serious it can be.”

This year, Hawk plans to host the second annual Vert Alert, a competition designed to highlight the “underappreciated” challenges of vertical skating — that is, skating up a steep ramp or incline, instead of in a street setting or skate park.

Apple resurrects Beats Pill Plus in limited edition collab

Beats is releasing a limited-edition model of its discontinued Beats Pill Plus in collaboration with fashion brand Stüssy. The release comes not long after Apple discontinued the Beats Pill Plus in January.

Apple released the original Beats Pill Plus speaker, which measured a bit larger than the first Beats Pill, in 2015. It was the first speaker Apple released following its 2014 acquisition of Beats for $3 billion. This new version of the Pill Plus will only be available for a limited time.

The new Pill Plus will keep the original design and come in a sleek black with a white skull and crossbones design on the front of the speaker. One side of the speaker reads “the only good system is a sound system.” The description on Stüssy’s website says the new Pill Plus will combine the “signature Southern California aesthetic with a rich, clear sound field that will improve your listening experience anywhere.”

The speaker will be available globally on Stüssy’s website Friday, March 4th, at 10AM PST. According to MacRumors, it will be priced at $185 in the US.

Kanye West Leaks Contract To Announce Yeezy x Gap x Balenciaga Collab

Ye has officially teamed up for a collaboration with Gap and Balenciaga.

All of the rumors were true. The fashion world was hit with a lightning strike on Friday morning (January 7) when Kanye West announced the official collaboration between Yeezy, Gap, and Balenciaga. He made the announcement in unorthodox style (well, not for him) by leaking one page of the contract signed by himself, Balenciaga’s Demna, and Gap’s higher-ups.

For the last few years, Ye has been working closely with Gap to develop his own collection. Over the course of the last twelve months, few pieces have seen the light of day, aside from the “Perfect Hoodie” in multiple colors. And in recent months, every time Ye steps out of the house, he’s been wearing Balenciaga, usually rocking the same outfit as the day prior. On dates with his new girlfriend Julia Fox, he has also been dressing her in the latest Balenciaga styles, much as he did with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Posting a page from Yeezy’s contract with Gap and Balenciaga, which formally announces the collaboration for the first time, Ye made sure everybody is aware of what would happen if a conflict were to occur during the rollout of the capsule.

Fans are excited to see what comes of this collaboration. However, considering the fact that Balenciaga is involved, this likely won’t be a price-conscious collection for the middle-class. If you’re rich though, this might be something to look forward to.

New Dr. Dre & Eminem Collab Track Preview Has Surfaced

Dre also teased a new Anderson .Paak collab on Instagram.

In the world of hip-hop, Dr. Dre and Eminem have solidified their status as legends, and as they years go on, their iconography only continues to grow. While they’ve moved away from making the kinds of music they were putting out at their peak, the two old friends still have some hits left in them, as proved by the latest preview of their forthcoming collaboration.

As reported by HioHop n More, this coming Wednesday, December 15th will see the release of a new GTA V Online mode update, including new weapons, missions, cars, and a storyline.

One year prior, the Compton native was added into Grand Theft Auto thanks to the Cayo Perico Heist update, and it’s been noted that the game’s latest version will be “largely centred around” Dre. It’s also been announced that “a ton of new and unreleased exclusive tracks” from the “I Need A Doctor” artist are set to come with the update.

Dre has already teased a snippet of an Anderson .Paak collaboration, and Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes are also both set to make appearances. In yet another leak, the 56-year-old can be heard alongside Eminem, the two of them seemingly paying homage to some of their earlier hits and flows that got them to where they are today.

The “Still D.R.E.” rapper has a lot to celebrate lately. On top of the GTA news, he also recently announced that he’s “divorced af,” and of course, he’s got his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance quickly approaching in the new year to look forward to.

Check out the snipped of Em and Dre below.
