The original cast members from the ‘Real World’ are going back to their roots … for a reunion show in the famous New York City loft where they first met.
The “seven strangers” are getting the band back together for the first time in almost 30 years for a new docuseries now streaming exclusively on Paramount+ … “The Real World Homecoming: New York.”
Yes, it’s been that long since Eric Nies, Julie Gentry, Heather B.Gardner, Kevin Powell, Norman Korpi, Andre Comeau and Becky Blasband were under the same roof … and ya gotta check out the gallery to see how they’re looking these days!!!
Talk about a blast from the past … the gang first moved into the loft way back in 1992, laying the foundation for ‘The Real World’ franchise. Don’t worry, the digs have been spruced up a bit since, and the loft looks super cool. Oh, and we will finally get an answer to the big question — what’s up with Eric?
The new ‘Homecoming’ episodes stream Thursdays … all ya gotta do is sign up for Paramount+ and try it for free.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man sounds like he’s in trouble, if two theoretical title(s) for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man 3 are any indication.
Announced on Holland’s Instagram, one title for the third installment of the Marvel-Sony franchise is Spider-Man: Phone Home. The subtitle falls right in line with the high school-themed Homecoming and European vacation sequel Far From Home, and creates even more distance from Peter Parker’s home of New York City. (Also, good E.T. nod.)
But wait … is that the title?
In a separate post, costar Jacob Batalon shared a different still from the set with a different title treatment. Get ready for … Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker?
Based on casting reports that neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures have yet to technically confirm, Spider-Man 3 will see Spidey sucked up into the multiverse. Holland and Batalon’s title goof seems to play right into the premise, whether either is legit or not. (Sony was unable to confirm.) But hey, even if they’re trolling Marvel fans, they still delivered a first look at a movie. Something will glow off screen in 2021.
The pivot to an actual multiverse comes after Mysterio pranked the world into thinking there were other planes of existence in Far From Home … only for audiences to learn through a post-credit scene cameo by J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson that maybe everything is connected (and that Peter Parker is Spider-Man — but that’s an entirely different can of worms). After Evan Peters’ Quicksilver from the Fox X-Men films showed up on WandaVision a few weeks ago, all cross-franchise shenanigans seem plausible with Marvel Studios in control of its properties once again.
Spider-Man 3 is said to shift Doctor Strange into the fatherly role Tony Stark filled back in Homecoming, and rope in villains from far beyond the MCU — including Jamie Foxx’s Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2. There’s been no formal casting or announcement of a key villain, but rumors have circulated that series director Jon Watts’ dream of bringing Kraven the Hunter to screen may actually happen. (So cross your fingers he’s hunting Spideys through the multiverse.)
Whatever doors the movie opens to the larger universe, and whatever the heck they wind up calling it, Spider-Man 3 promises to be the biggest installment of MCU Spider-Man yet. “The film is incredibly ambitious, and I’m delighted to say that we’re succeeding in making it,” Holland recently told Yahoo. “It’s going really well. We watched a fight scene that we had shot a few weeks ago, and I’ve never seen a fight scene quite like it in the MCU. I’m really excited for audiences to see that.”
Spider-Man: Phone Home/Home-Wrecker, currently filming in Marvel’s home base of Atlanta, Georgia, is once again directed by Watts, who has the rare honor of helming every installment of a single MCU hero franchise (and he’ll step up again for a non Sony Marvel movie, Fantastic Four, in the not-so-distant future). Like the entire Marvel movie calendar over the last year, theater availability and state-to-state re-openings amidst the COVID pandemic could change plans in a flash, but for now, Spider-Man: Phone Home/Home-Wrecker is set for a Dec. 17, 2021 release date. At least Sony and Disney actually managed to strike a deal to make it happen in the first place.
Aside from 2020’s Four Good Days, Mila Kunis has taken a bit of a breather from acting over the last few years, which makes Netflix even luckier to track her down for their upcoming film adaptation of author Jessica Knoll’s Luckiest Girl Alive, according to Variety. Knoll’s novel, her debut release, became a New York Times best-seller upon its release in 2015. The author will adapt the screenplay, as well as executive produce, with Mike Barker set to direct and Kunis’s Orchard Fam Productions to produce as well.
Luckiest Girl Alive follows protagonist Ani Fanelli (Kunis), who appears from the outside to have it all: glamorous magazine job, perfect fiance, fabulous New York apartment, in this case being Mila Kunis. However, as is the way with most mystery novels, Ani survived a series of unspoken tragedies in her past that, to overcome, she effectively transformed herself into a different person altogether. Only when a true crime documentary probes “a devastating incident from her teenage years” while a student at the prestigious Bradley School is Ani forced to reckon with the truth under her “meticulously-crafted life.” All of which doesn’t make her sound particularly lucky at all, but then again, the “alive” part is probably the most important bit in this genre by far.
The cast of Superman & Lois recently shared the superheroes they would add to their character’s dream team in a new featurette for Arrowverse fans.
The cast of Superman & Lois revealed which DC superheroes their Arrowverse characters would team up with for a “dream team,” crime-fighting lineup.
Series star Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent/Superman) starts the clip with a question, “Like a team-up situation?” Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent), selects Supergirl‘s Green Martian (David Harewood) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) for his team. “I think that would be a really interesting team-up.” Garfin added, “That kinda thing happens in crossovers all the time.”

Tulloch adds, “Hopefully Lois can have some interaction with Batwoman (Javicia Leslie) at some point.” The actor also revealed that she has “high hopes for Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) to get on our show.”
Hoechlin, eventually agrees with his other on-screen son Jordan Elsass (Jonathan Kent) that he’d like to see a Superman and Batman team-up, noting, “I like a little, maybe Two-Face, a little Joker action.”
Tulloch previously shared that she believes she was cast as Lois Lane in 2018 because she portrayed the character more “joyfully.” She added, “They were reading a lot of other actresses I recognized. I kind of had a feeling, after I did it once, that I totally was doing something different from the other actors. The choice I made was just to have fun with it. I think, based on some of the feedback I got in the room, a lot of women had been reading that scene more seriously because, on paper, the scene did read as serious.”

The setback doesn’t come as a shock. Congress only gave NASA’s Human Landing System project $850 million in its latest spending bill versus the $3.2 billion it said was necessary for the planned 2024 Moon touchdown. it doesn’t help that NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine left as President Biden took office, leaving his deputy Steve Jurczyk in his place. The organization just doesn’t have the resources or direction it was expecting.
As such, the chances of NASA making its 2024 Artemis goal are that much slimmer. That’s also discounting any possible changes in priorities at NASA under the Biden administration. The new White House has focused much of its energy on dealing on immediate crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic downturn. It may be reluctant to devote much (if any) attention to a Moon landing until the country is in better shape.
