‘I just wanted us to have a good time with every person who is important to us,’ Shay, 37, told People, adding that she and Davies were thrilled to ‘be able to get that time for a few days with all of our friends and family to celebrate us.’

Shay donned a trio of Pol Atteau-designed outfits on the big day, while their daughter Summer Moon, one, matched her as the flower girl for the ceremony.

‘I love that we have designed this from scratch together and the lace is absolutely stunning,’ she told the outlet of her wedding gown. Davies wore an all-white Art Lewin suit to the nuptials.

A number of Vanderpump Rules were involved in the ceremony, as Ariana Madix and Raquel Leviss were bridesmaids, while Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz served as groomsmen.

Shay’s sister Cortney van Olphen was the maid of honor, while Davies’ best friend Charlie Jones was his best man.

The bridal party donned pink ensembles by Pia Gladys Perey, while the groomsmen wore white shirts and tan slacks from Fashion Nova Men, the outlet reported.

Davies told the outlet of the fashion decision: ‘One of my groomsmen asked about suits and I was like, “Lad, we’re getting married in Cancun, you don’t want suits.”’

Other notable names affiliated with the Bravo show on hand included Brittany Cartwright, Kristen Doute and Jax Taylor. Shay described the group to People as ‘a big part of our life.’

Following the vows, Shay donned a mini dress by Atteau to join the attendees for a dancing celebration, US reported.

Partygoers were slated to enjoy a cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers, after which the main course of steak and salmon would be served, with vegan lasagna also available to guests, according to People.

Shay said the couple opted to go with a carrot cake in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, adding that it’s ‘just for cutting’ and ‘more for looks than for eating because no one eats the cake.’

The first dance of the evening was set to the song Beyond by Leon Bridges, which Shay described as ‘very close to our hearts.’

The pair also had a DJ on hand to provide the music, as well as a fireworks show from PyroCaribe.

The couple was slated to enjoy an afterparty at an on-site location featuring a cenote, with a DJ and taco stand on hand.

Shay told the publication that she and Davies chose the Dreams Natura Resort & Spa after looking at four possible venues for the wedding.

‘They had everything I wanted: the glass platform over the pool, a lazy river, a little waterpark,’ she said. ‘It was family-friendly and it just felt right. We needed something that would be good for her and also fun for our guests.’

Shay said that much of the planning went to accommodate Davies’ family members from Australia visiting for the ceremony.

‘I just wanted as much of Brock’s family and friends to be able to be here because, although this is the second marriage for us both, this is his first wedding,’ Shay says. ‘For me it was just really important to make this as special as possible for him and his family.’

She continued: ‘The fact that that many people came on vacation with us is so cool. I feel like it’s a small wedding in scale, but it’s big for a destination. I want this special moment. Brock deserves this. We deserve this.’

Shay credited her wedding planner, Shelby Marie with Simply Classic Events, for helping her put together the special day.

She told People: ‘I’m so glad I have an amazing planner because she’s made this so easy for me – I gave her my vision and she said, ‘I’ll make it happen.”’

Davies and Shay did not have a honeymoon immediately mapped out, but Davies said that it has been booked, adding, ‘Think crystal blue waters.’

Shay said that she and Davies were thrilled to have ‘an amazing time with good people,’ adding, ‘Just being able to have our amazing family and friends here is all we need, and just enjoying being in the moment with each other.’

The pair welcomed their daughter Summer Moon in April of 2021, and got engaged that July.

Davies’ proposal to Shay was chronicled on the ninth season of Vanderpump Rules, as the pair had said they were debating about getting married on the same weekend Kennedy and Leviss had a bash celebrating their engagement. (Kennedy and Leviss later parted ways.)

Shay in February told US that the couple had been planning a smaller wedding to ‘keep costs down,’ but found it difficult ‘to cut people’ from the invite list.

‘We’re just figuring out where and when, and then who to invite and not invite because we do wanna keep it smaller,’ she said. ‘I have [a] very large family.

‘We have a ton of friends, so hopefully, people don’t get offended if they don’t get invited. They understand that we’re doing this for us.’

Cancun shooting: 2 killed in apparent drug ‘execution’ on beach, vacationers flee

Gunfire erupted on an idyllic beach in Cancun, Mexico, on Thursday that resulted in the killings of two suspected gang members and sent stunned tourists fleeing into nearby hotels for cover.

“I’ve never been so scared, literally shaking,” Mike Sington, who is a guest at the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun, posted on Twitter. “I’m fine now, barricaded in my hotel room for the night, just trying to decompress.

The gunmen arrived at the beach by boat and sought out the individuals they intended to kill, Reuters reported, citing a senior state official. Another official told the news agency that the shootings seems to be the result of a targeted execution on the beach.

Evidence suggests that the shooting was the result of some kind of turf war. The two individuals killed had apparently arrived at the beach in front of the Azul Beach Resort and the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun earlier in the day, claiming it was now their territory.

“About 15 people arrived on the beach to assassinate two men who had showed up saying they were the new dealers in the area,” the head prosecutor of Quintana Roo state, Oscar Montes de Oca, told the Radio Formula station. Authorities said no tourists were seriously injured or kidnapped.

Andrew Krop told Fox News his husband was at the resort performing for the Vacaya gay vacation group.

Krop said his husband told him he heard gunshots and barricaded himself inside a room for about an hour before resort guests were escorted into the lobby and told they were safe.

BORDER EXPERT: ‘TERRORIST’ LABELS FOR MEXICAN DRUG CARTELS LONG OVERDUE

Former Mexican Senator Claudia Anaya likened the tourists’ experience at the resort to a “horror movie,” saying that the problem of violence in Mexico is no longer confined to just the streets.

“Today, from a horror movie what tourists have experienced in an exclusive hotel in #Cancun,” she tweeted in Spanish. “Do you think tourists want to keep coming to share our tragedy?”

Ted Cruz mocked for posting photos handing out water after Cancun backlash.

Sen. Ted Cruz wanted to show he’s devoted to helping Texans struggling due to a deep freeze that has led to power outages and burst pipes across the state. So the senator, who has been trying to swat away criticism after he took a jaunt to Cancun last week while his constituents suffered, posted photos of himself on Twitter carrying water to several cars. One photo even shows him shaking hands with a person. “#TexasStrong,” he wrote in the tweet.

The tweets came after several Democratic leaders made a point of demonstrating how they were helping Texas while Cruz went to Cancun. And many on social media weren’t buying it, characterizing Cruz’s photo-op as too little, too late and an obvious attempt to rehabilitate his image. “I’m glad someone in Ted Cruz’s Senate office finally instructed him on how to fake compassion, humanity, and creating the illusion that he cares about the people he was elected to serve,” Melissa Ryan, who has worked as a Democratic Party digital strategist, said. Some pointed out that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises everyone to self-quarantine for seven days after traveling.

Cruz has acknowledged that the Cancun trip “was obviously a mistake” and said that “in hindsight I wouldn’t have done it.” Cruz said he was trying to be a “good dad” but realized it was a mistake and changed his return flight. At first the senator tried to say that he planned to only drop off his family but later acknowledged he changed his flight to return earlier than planned. United Airlines is looking into who leaked the data that revealed Cruz changed his return flight after all the backlash on social media. “It’s against United’s policies to share personal information about our customers and we are investigating this incident,” United Airlines said in a statement.

‘SNL’ roasts Cuomo over nursing home scandal, Cruz for Cancun flap

Even Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s character on “Saturday Night Live” couldn’t bring himself to properly apologize for the scandal over New York’s nursing home death scandal.

The unapologetic governor was played by Pete Davidson in the late-night comedy show’s latest episode, appearing alongside Aidy Bryant as embattled Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

The pair of pols were both supposed to apologize to Chloe Fineman’s Britney Spears on a show called “Oops, You Did It Again” — with Cuomo’s notorious rage instead replacing any regrets.

Davidson’s Cuomo initially even tried to ignore the nursing home scandal entirely, pretending he thought he was on the show for the “exciting” news that “indoor dining is back in New York!”

After being admonished by Spears, Davidson’s Cuomo finally looked downcast as he conceded, “It’s because of the … nursing home stuff.”

He then insisted inaccurate reporting of seniors’ COVID-19 deaths in New York was no different than “what happens at Disney World” — suggesting the theme parks “move the bodies” to pretend that people who die on rides actually passed outside the park.

“So we just did the Disney thing,” the fake Cuomo said innocently.

Pulled up again by Spears, the fake Cuomo eventually did what the real one seems unable to do and apologized, albeit it angrily.

“Yeah. I said I was sorry!” he barked — before snapping into a rage at the mention of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s name.

“What did that bird b—h say about me?” he asked, saying he would “bury him in the tallest grave this city has ever seen.”

“I’m sorry, OK,” he told Spears. “I get a little angry now and then — and always.”

He even got angry when Cruz — who had appeared happy about his own scandal of jetting off to Mexico during his state’s blackout crisis — tried to compare them as “both strong misunderstood men.”

“Do not associate yourself with me. We are not the same. I am a man, you are a clown,” Davidson’s Cuomo snapped.

“If you mess with me, I will send you to a clown hospital. And when you die, I will not count your body,” he warned.

Bryant’s Cruz had walked into the show’s set with beads in his hair and wearing a “Cancun Family Vacation 2021” T-shirt, carrying a tropical drink in one hand and pulling a rolling suitcase with the other.

“Hola everyone. I’m not tan — I just cried myself red over my fellow Texans. And that’s why I drink in their honor,” he said with a smile.

“I’m in a little bit of hot water, which I am told is a thing no one in Texas has,” Bryant’s Cruz told Spears.

“I deeply regret my actions over the last couple of days … most flying United,” he joked. “I’m sorry — I am pretty bad at human stuff,” he said of his lame joke.

Asked about being dubbed a coward for abandoning his home state during its historic crisis, the pretend Cruz said, “Yeah, a ‘coward’ is actually the nicest word I heard.”

Cuomo was not the only guest furious at Cruz trying to liken himself to them, with axed “Mandalorian” star Gina Carano — played by Cecily Strong — calling him “coach” to her “first class.”

“If you compare yourself to me, I will blast you to the farthest desert of Tatooine,” the pretend Carano told Cruz — just for him to reply, “Anything to get out of Texas.”

Carano insisted she had nothing to apologize for over her social media posts that compared the plight of modern-day conservatives with Jews in Nazi Germany.

“I never would have made that Nazi comparison if I had known everyone was going to be a Nazi about it,” the pretend Carano replied.

Jimmy Kimmel Has an Absolute Field Day With Ted Cruz’s Cancun Saga

It was a story tailor-made for Jimmy Kimmel, who has never been shy about his outright hatred of Ted Cruz. And on Thursday night, he spent nearly his entire monologue going in on the Texas senator for fleeing his freezing, devastated home state for what ended up being a short-lived getaway in Cancun.

“On behalf of all of us we want to send our best wishes from L.A. to those of you who have been hammered by the cold weather,” the late-night host began, sincerely. “Hundreds of thousands of Texans are still without power. And on a day when the most newsworthy landing should have been the NASA Rover successfully touching down on Mars, instead, it was a senator from Texas touching down on Cancun.”

“While his fellow Texans are freezing with the power out Ted Cruz did what any great leader would do when his state needs leadership most,” Kimmel continued. “He booked a flight to Mexico and said, ‘Adios, amigos!’”

From there, he ran down just how bad the situation is on the ground in Texas, where roads are impassable, toilets are frozen over, and people are burning their furniture to stay warm. “And where was Mr. Texas while his constituents are suffering?” Kimmel asked. “Well, there he is, snake on a plane right there! Headed, ironically, to the very place he tried to build a wall around.”

At first, Kimmel explained, he wasn’t sure if the photos popping up on social media were actually of the Texas senator “or just a man with a terrible medical condition called ‘looking Like Ted Cruz.’”

“But, I didn’t want to post until I knew for sure it was him,” he said. So my wife spent two full hours studying images last night, matching up photos of his shoes, his mask, his wedding ring. It was like I was in bed with Sherlock Holmes.”

Eventually, reporters started to confirm that it was him on the flight. “So, he loads his family onto a plane to get the hell out of town and, unfortunately he’s been on TV kissing Trump’s ass so much and for so long, that everyone recognizes him even with a mask on,” Kimmel said. “They post all these pictures of him and there’s so much backlash, he has no choice but to immediately book a flight home.”

“The hypocrisy is off the charts!” he added. “This is the guy who two months ago lashed out at the mayor of Austin for going to Mexico.” But that wasn’t all. Kimmel also called Cruz out for mocking Governor Gavin Newsom for being “unable to perform even the basic functions of civilization, like having reliable electricity” and attacked Chris Christie for going to the New Jersey beach he ordered closed.

“But why settle for just being the planet’s biggest hypocrite when you can be a world-class liar too?” the host asked, before meticulously breaking down the initial statement in which Cruz blamed his two young daughters for the entire debacle.

“With school cancelled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends,” Cruz said. “Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”

“Now, he was careful not to say he was planning to fly back this afternoon because he wasn’t,” Kimmel explained. “He just said he did, and in fact, NBC News has a source that says he was originally booked to fly back Saturday. He booked his return ticket at 6 a.m. this morning after he got busted. But I guess we were supposed to believe he was chaperoning his wife and kids to Mexico and was planning to come back the next day all along… with a carry-on bag stuffed like a piñata.”

The host also took a moment to mock the people who excused Cruz’s lies, like “one idiot” named “Dinesh De-Douche-a,” who tweeted, “What could @tedcruz do if he were here in Texas? I’m hard-pressed to say. If he’s in Cancun, that means he’s not using up valuable resources of energy, food and water that can now be used by someone else. This is probably the best thing he could do for the state right now.”

“And more than 10,000 people ‘liked’ that statement!” Kimmel exclaimed. “What a country this is.”

But since “for the most part though no one was buying this story about getting back to work,” he said, “Ted decided to kind of come clean,” admitting that the trip was a “mistake” and that he cut it short due to the backlash. “He also claimed that his struggle to be the world’s greatest dad put him in a position that he realized wasn’t a good one just a couple hours too late.”

Speaking to reporters outside his house upon his return, Cruz said he “started having second thoughts almost the moment” he sat down on the plane.

“Yes, as soon as people started posting pictures of him on the plane he looked up and knew he shouldn’t be on the plane,” Kimmel replied. “How did he think he was going to get away with this? You know your judgment is terrible when this haircut is only the third worst decision you made this month.”

“Well, at least his vacation was ruined,” Kimmel concluded before urging viewers to text “ABC 13” to 41444 to donate money for Texas relief.

Did Ted Cruz fly to Cancun during Texas‘ winter disaster?

Photos circulating on Twitter late Wednesday purport to show Texas Senator Ted Cruz on a flight to Cancun, Mexico, during the state‘s historic disaster.

The images show a man with a striking similarity to Cruz in an airport ano on a plane. Cruz’s office didn‘t respond to a request for comment but this story will be updated if they do. Other reporters said they had reached out as well but not heard back.

Some Twitter sleuths claimed they matched a mask, glasses, a ring, tennis shoes and headphones to past social media posts. One photo appears to show Cruz’s wife – who has appeared on national television – at his side.

One sleuth cited clues from a photo that puts Cruz inside the Houston International Airport near the terminal for a United flight to Cancun at 4:10 p.m.

Less than an hour later, UA1020 departed for Cancun and landed at 7:52 p.m., online flight records show.

Still, others thought the photos might be taken out of context or from a past trip. Indeed, there isn’t a smoking gun and Cruz hasn’t yet commented.

Those sharing the photos include a state lawmaker from Cruz‘s hometown of Houston.

“Guess which US Senator from Texas flew to Cancun while the state was freezing to death and having to boil water,” said state Rep. Gene Wu, D-Houston.

Keith Edwards, a Democratic operative who worked on Georgia Senator Jon Ossof’s campaign, tweeted that people who were on the flight with Cruz had confirmed to him the photos veracity in direct messages.

Nothing on Cruz’s most recent Twitter timeline mentions travel. He has shared resources for the storm, including information on a warming center in San Antonio and a request for residents of South Texas to donate blood if they’re able.

The reports of Cruz’s alleged vacation spread quickly on social media, catapulted by Texans‘ frozen frustration. That after a failure of the state’s electric grid forced millions in the state to go days without sustained power in sub-freezing temperatures. If true, the trip would add even more insult to injury for a battered state dealing with a historic disaster.
