Nas House Burglarized As Mogul Celebrates “King’s Disease III”

Nas was in full celebration mode over the weekend and, while he was, some unscrupulous individuals were robbing the rapper mogul.

Two men broke into the rapper’s Calabasas property over the weekend and managed to get away. The alleged incident occurred, approximately 8:30 PM Saturday night. The bandits smashed a rear door to get entry into the home, alerting a security camera.

Police confirmed the matter to TMZ.

A Ring camera captured the entire incident from the exterior of the home. The rapper’s team apparently saw the bandits as they departed on the security camera and called police. By the time law-enforcement made it to the home, the men were gone. Nobody else was in the house when the men gained entry into the rappers house.

At the time of the robbery, Nas was in New York City, celebrating the album release of King’s Disease III, his latest.

It is unclear exactly what the thieves stole, but they did ransack the residence, likely looking for valuables.

Nas is reportedly going to return soon to take inventory of what was stolen and relay that to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, who is investigating the matter.

Nas’s L.A. Home Burglarized While He Was Celebrating ‘Kings Disease III’ In NY

Nas’s home in Los Angeles was burglarized while he was celebrating the release of King’s Disease III in New York.

TMZ reported that two men broke into the Queens legend’s Calabasas property on Saturday (November 12) evening around 8:30 PM PT. The assailants smashed through a rear door to gain access to the home when Nas’s team discovered them on a Ring camera. Members of Nas’s crew called the cops when they saw the robbers leaving the residence.

According to sources, the robbers caused an enormous amount of damage to the property and left with at least two bags worth of unidentified items.  No one was reported injured during the incident and the Los Angeles Police Department has launched an official investigation.

The robbery is just a footnote for Nas with the release of the third installment of his King Disease albums with Hit-Boy. In celebration of the project, Nas announced a special performance at Madison Square Garden on February 24. He shared the news via Instagram on Friday (November 11), a few hours after the release of the project.

According to the Garden’s official Twitter account, Chase cardholders will have early access to ticket sales from 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday (November 15) to 10 p.m. EST on Thursday night (November 17). The general public will be able to buy tickets starting the following morning (November 18) at 10 a.m.

During the album release party, Nas took time to pay tribute to TakeOff and offered condolences to his family

“We’re trying to tell these people out here, man, we’re here for a purpose,” Nas said. “We can’t be destroying each other over bullshit. Look at these little brothers and be like don’t shoot; don’t throw your life away. It ain’t worth it. There’s something to live for, something to be here for.

“All that tough shit is cool when you’re growing up,” the veteran MC continued, “but we gotta learn that we’re here for a purpose, and there is a design that’s out here to make sure we don’t grow, to make sure that we don’t make it. And we gotta recognize that there is something in existence that’s trying to stop the youth from the hood from growing into its proper purpose.”

Although the chemistry between Nas and Hit-Boy is undeniable over the course of three landmark LPs, Nas still believes that a collaborative project with DJ Premier may happen one day.

On the track “30,” Nas name-dropped Preemo and the possibility of their long-awaited joint album.

Doesn’t matter this is sheer relief, I feel the breeze this is/ Superhero material, rap star status/ Premier album still might happen,” Nas raps.

Former NBA player Vince Carter’s Atlanta home burglarized, nearly $100K stolen

Armed burglars broke into the Atlanta home of retired NBA player Vince Carter while his wife and kids were inside and stole nearly $100,000 in cash over the weekend, police said.

Carter’s wife, Sondi Carter, and the couple’s two sons hid in a closet Sunday night while burglars smashed in a first-floor window and ransacked the 10,000-square-foot home in Atlanta’s affluent Buckhead neighborhood, according to an incident report released Wednesday by the Atlanta Police Department.

Sondi Carter told police she was in bed with her two sons when she heard loud noises coming from out front at 11:50 p.m., according to the report. She grabbed her sons and together the three hid in their bedroom closet while listening to the suspects run upstairs and rummage through the family’s belongings in various rooms.

The retired Atlanta basketball star played 22 seasons with the NBA and now works as an analyst for ESPN.

Sondi Carter said she called 911 from inside the closet and texted the neighborhood patrol.

An off-duty Atlanta PD officer with the neighborhood patrol responded and chased a suspect wearing all black clothing and a mask down the road until he hopped into a black SUV that sped off.

Police officers arrived at the home shortly after and found $16,100 worth of $100 bills spilled onto the ground outside the gated home.

The recovered money, however, was just a sliver of the $100,000 that was missing from a brown bag Vince Carter kept in the master bedroom closet, the former Hawks player who retired in 2020 told police.

Police also found a gold Desert Eagle firearm still in its gun case, belonging to Vince Carter, and a black Glock 26 with an extended magazine outside the home, according to the report.

Police believe the Glock was left behind by the burglars.

Inside the home, officers found a first-floor window completely smashed in, multiple rooms in disarray and a gate at the top of the stairs broken off its hinges, the report states.

Police were only able to recover a sliver of the cash that was stolen from Carter’s home, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Police officers photographed the scene and lifted a fingerprint from a side door that the suspects may have used to flee the home. They also collected surveillance video from cameras on the property.

Sondi Carter and her sons were unscathed during the break-in.

According to property records, Vince Carter, who played 22 seasons with the NBA and now works as an NBA analyst for ESPN, bought the home and the almost acre and a half of property it sits on for nearly $7 million in August 2020.

The investigation is ongoing.
