Becky Lynch returns, is the fifth member of Team Belair at Survivor Series: War Games

We knew we would get the answer on who the fifth member of Team Bianca Belair would be during this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Providence, and WWE didn’t make us wait long. Bayley started the show demanding answers. Belair was right there to provide them.

To the surprise of few, Becky Lynch made her return after a few months away dealing with a shoulder injury.

This is what makes the most sense for the story, of course. The last time we saw Lynch, she had just lost to Belair at SummerSlam in a match for the Raw women’s championship. That’s when Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY all made their return and confronted the champ. Lynch turned babyface by coming to her aid, injury and all.

Then she left to heal.

Now, she’s back and looking better than ever.

Bianca Belair To Defend Raw Women’s Title In Big Stipulation Match At WWE Crown Jewel

After facing a defeat to Bayley on the October 24 episode of “Raw,” Bianca Belair will step back in the ring with the former “Raw” and “SmackDown” Women’s Champion once again at the upcoming Crown Jewel premium live event. The match for the “Raw” Women’s Championship was announced on the October 28 edition of “SmackDown” along with a “Last Woman Standing” stipulation.

Despite coming up short against Bayley on “Raw,” Belair did get the better of her in their ladder match at the Extreme Rules PLE on October 8. The match will continue the rivalry between Bayley and Belair that has been going on since the former’s return at SummerSlam in August. Bayley would go on to earn her match at Extreme Rules by pinning Belair in a six-woman tag team match at Clash at the Castle alongside her Damage CTRL partners: IYO SKY and Dakota Kai.

However, the rivalry between Belair and Bayley stretches back further than this past August. The feud can be traced back to before Money in the Bank 2021, where Bayley was set to take on Belair in an “I Quit” match. At the time, Belair was holding the “SmackDown” Women’s Championship. Unfortunately, Bayley suffered an ACL tear before the match could happen.

The “Last Woman Standing” stipulation has only been featured four other times on WWE programming. Twice in “NXT” in a match between Asuka and Nikki Cross, and a match between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez. Both matches were for the “NXT” Women’s Championship. Another took place on an episode of “Raw” in 2019 between Natalya and Lacey Evans. Most notably, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair squared off in a “Last Woman Standing” match for the “SmackDown” Women’s Championship at the Evolution event in 2018.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck look at $165MILLION mansion after deal for Bel-Air home falls through

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck wasted no time returning to the hunt for a luxury mansion after their previous real estate deal fell through as they were seen viewing one of the most iconic properties in Southern California – built by television mogul Aaron Spelling and wife Candy.

The newly-engaged couple was spotted on Tuesday at the massive $165million property, which was once called ‘Spelling Manor’, in the Los Angeles suburb of Holmby Hills – with famous residents including Kylie Jenner.

They visited multiple properties as they continued their search for a new home, just days after the multihyphenate, 52, shared news of her second engagement to the actor, 49, in her On the JLo newsletter written to her fans.

The search continues: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were spotted together in Los Angeles on Tuesday as they continued their search for a new home

Extravagant: The soon-to-be husband and wife checked out a home in Holmby Hills that costs a whopping $165,000,000 – and was built by television mogul Aaron Spelling and wife Candy – triple the price of their last deal

The 14-bedroom property, now referred to as The Manor, is triple the asking price of the $55million estate in Bel-Air the couple were in escrow for, before the deal fell through.

The sprawling home was built over several years by late TV showrunner Aaron Spelling and his socialite wife Candy Spelling and was completed in 1990.

In 2011, Candy sold the home to British heiress Petra Ecclestone for a whopping $85million, before the model, 33, spent a reported $20million in lavish renovations.

Then in 2019, Ecclestone sold the famous property for just under $120million to an anonymous Saudi Arabian buyer.

Amazing: The sprawling property, which sits on 4.6 acres, features 100 garage spaces, fourteen bedrooms, and 27 full bathrooms

Variety: Amenities at The Manor include a bowling alley, a plush movie theater, tennis court, hair salon, and a pool and jacuzzi combo

Trailblazers: The massive property, once called ‘Spelling Manor’, was built over several years by late TV showrunner Aaron Spelling and his socialite wife Candy Spelling (seen in April 2005) and was completed in 1990

Hot property: In 2011, Candy sold the home to British heiress and model Petra Ecclestone (pictured in November 2018) for a whopping $85million before spending a reported $20million in renovations

The massive 56,000 sq ft property, which sits on a generous 4.6 acres, houses an impressive 100 garage spaces, fourteen bedrooms, a spacious dining area and 27 full bathrooms.

The lavish home boasts a traditional architectural style and features luxurious amenities including a bowling alley, a plush movie theater, tennis court, hair salon, and a pool and jacuzzi combo.

During the house viewings, the On the 6 music artist wore a cream, cropped, cable knit sweater and showed off a bit of her toned tummy in the ensemble, which had an asymmetrical hem.

Jennifer added a pair of loose-fitting, olive green, belted trousers with a round silver buckle. They gathered at her waist and she added a pair of large, silver-toned hoop earrings.

Offerings: The space has high ceilings and a built-in aquarium next to a custom bar

Classic: The total square footage of the mega mansion is 56,000 and the home boasts a traditional architectural style

Continued search: After their deal on a $55million estate in Bel-Air fell through, according to TMZ, they were back to house hunting over the weekend. Pictured: The crushed velvet style cinema at the $165million home the couple viewed on Tuesday

She showed off her natural beauty as she went makeup-free for the day out and about with her rekindled love.

The mother-of-two wore her honey blonde hair loose and arranged in a center part as it fell down her back and was windblown in a straight style.

Jen matched a pair of work boots to her sweater and effortlessly brought the elegant ensemble together with a large, cream Hermés bag.

She rocked a classic short and nude manicure as she carried a case-free phone in her hand. Meanwhile, her beau Ben was dressed in a black crewneck sweater with the sleeves rolled up.

Possible new home: The two actors are keeping their options open as they scout a new abode following their engagement

Family process: Prior to Tuesday’s search, an eyewitness said the couple spent about two hours checking out three homes on Sunday with Affleck’s two youngest kids, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, ten, who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner

Cute: One of the 27 full bathrooms at the luxurious Holmby Hills property featured a large heart-shaped mirror and a freestanding tub in the center of the room

The Batman star sported his well-recognized tussled and scruffy beard as he cut a casual figure in khaki-colored pants and a black sweatshirt.

The smitten couple traveled in a dark-colored Mercedes as they house-hopped around the city of angels.

On the same day, the power couple were seen checking out a different home in the same neighborhood which was owned by the ex-wife of famed restauranteur Mr. Chow.

The nine-bedroom property, which features 14 bathrooms, was considerably smaller at 30,000-square-feet while the asking price is a much more modest $65million.

Always stylish: As she stepped out for viewings, the On the 6 music artist wore a cream, cropped, cable knit sweater. She showed off a bit of her toned tummy in the piece, which had an asymmetrical hem

Laidback look: Meanwhile Ben was dressed in a black crewneck sweater with the sleeves rolled up

The luxurious home is filled with art with perhaps the most interesting decor being the 400-year-old Moorish columns at the entryway.

Prior to Tuesday’s search, an eyewitness reported that the couple spent about two hours checking out three different homes on Sunday with Affleck’s two youngest kids, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, ten, who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Affleck’s eldest Violet, 16, did not appear to be present during the outing, nor did Lopez’s 14-year-old twins Emme and Max, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.

The couple’s return to house hunting comes after their deal on a $55million estate in Bel-Air fell through, according to TMZ.

Bling bling: Her new engagement ring was proudly put on display as she looked for a dream home with her new fiancé

Punching it in: Jen looked the picture of elegance as she was seen driving up to one of the properties on Tuesday

While it is unknown what caused the stars to back out of buying the last property, they have since been touring much more expensive homes in the same area.

The spectacular $50m mansion, which was being sold by Texas billionaire Todd Lemkin, boasts ten bedrooms and 17 bathrooms as well as a theatre, gym, multiple kitchens, an infinity edge pool, and a stunning view of a golf course and the city.

Since the deal fell through, they have toured a $75million property, in the heart of Holmby Hills, with 17 beds and 25 bathrooms.

The stunning home boasts a Japanese Garden and teahouse, French Courtyard, and a romantic greenhouse.

According to the listing, there is also a tranquil waterfall that lead to a glass-walled tennis court perched aside a Moroccan bathhouse and an authentic hammam and a blue tiled swimming pool.

Decadent: The additional property (living area pictured) was considerably smaller at 30,000-square-feet while the asking price is a much more modest $65million

Their house hunting comes after Jennifer and Ben announced their second engagement, after they were previously engaged 18 years ago in 2004.

Their rekindled relationship came as a shock to fans as they reunited in May 2021 – 17 years after their failed engagement.

In April 2021, Jennifer confirmed the end of her relationship with Alex Rodriguez, a former New York Yankee after the pair dated for four years and were engaged for two years.

In mid-May, Jennifer spent some time in Los Angeles with Ben, igniting initial rumors they had in fact reunited.

‘Jennifer was just in Los Angeles for a couple of days,’ a source told People at the time. ‘She spent time with Ben. They have kept in touch every day since their Montana trip.’

The couple then went Instagram official with their relationship in July while on a European holiday in honor of her 52nd birthday.

Timeline: They were set to get married in September 2003, but postponed their wedding and eventually broke up in January 2004. Pictured: The $65million home, owned by Mr Chow’s ex-wife, features a traditional wood-burning fireplace

Spacious: There’s no shortage of space in the $65million they viewed and it is also filled with art (pictured in one bedroom), with perhaps the most interesting decor being 400-year-old Moorish columns

The power couple have continued going from strength to strength in their relationship since then, attending red carpet events and spending time together around the world.

Ben and Jen initially dated in early 2002 after meeting on set of Gigli. They became engaged in November of that year, with Ben proposing to her with a 6.1 carat radiant cut pink diamond ring with two trapezoid white diamonds, mounted on 18K pink gold and platinum band from Harry Winston.

The ring is now worth an estimated $12million, with it costing Ben at the time (November 2002) a reported $1.2million.

The huge increase in worth stems from the price of the rare colored diamond, which has soared.

They were set to get married in September 2003, but postponed their wedding and eventually broke up in January 2004.

Scenic: A serene pool at the $65million property offers a relaxing escape to future homeowners

Impeccable: The $65million home features multiple fireplaces with much of the traditional decor still in place, as well as modern touches

But they have now got engaged for a second time, with the Hustlers actress sharing details of the intimate engagement in a newsletter shared to her website on Tuesday.

‘Did you ever imagine your biggest dream could come true?’ she wrote in her post. ‘Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed.

‘I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES.’

‘I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole.

‘It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could’ve ever imagined…just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love.

‘Green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be.’

Bianca Belair def. Becky Lynch to win the Raw Women’s Championship

Sporting a brand-new hairdo thanks to the actions of Bianca Belair, a furious Becky Lynch slapped The EST of WWE after the bell rang before delivering a huge Manhandle Slam looking to recreate her 26-second win from Summerslam, but only earned a two-count.

After a flurry of reversals, action spilled outside the ring where Big Time Becks took control after tossing Belair into the steel steps, rolling her back into the ring for a pair of Becksploder Suplexes. The Raw Women’s Champion targeted Belair’s injured throat, answering every attempt Belair made at building any momentum until the former SmackDown Women’s Champion powered Lynch up for a vertical suplex outside the ring.

Bianca Belair lands an impressive springboard moonsault on Becky Lynch, but can’t keep the reigning Raw Women’s Champion down at WrestleMania 38. Catch WWE action on Peacock, WWE Network, FOX, USA Network, Sony India and more.

Belair kept her foot on the gas, planting Lynch with a Glam Slam before dropping her onto the turnbuckle and landing a 450 Splash from the second rope for a shocking nearfall. The two heated rivals continued to trade blows until Lynch used Belair’s braid to pull her into the ring post, lifting her up for a Manhandle Slam on the steel steps and a near count out.

Frustrated, Lynch pulled an exhausted Belair off the mat for another Manhandle Slam, but The EST of WWE flipped out of the attempt, hoisted Lynch up and drove her through the ring with a huge K.O.D. to earn the victory and become the new Raw Women’s Champion.

‘Bel-Air’ Star Olly Sholotan Says Racial Slur Scene Made an Actor Uncomfortable

  • In the first episode of “Bel-Air,” there’s a scene where a group of white students rap a racial slur.
  • Olly Sholotan, who plays Carlton, says one of his co-stars felt uncomfortable doing the scene.
  • Sholotan said that the scene was important to film because it is part of the Black experience.

“Bel-Air” star Olly Sholotan told Insider that one of his co-stars was reluctant to film a scene in the first episode where a group of white students sings a song containing a racial slur.

Sholotan plays Carlton in the Peacock reboot that reimagines “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” as a drama. In the first episode, Carlton has a confrontation with the series’ protagonist, the fictional Will Smith (Jabari Banks), after Smith stumbles on his cousin dancing and rapping in a locker room with a group of white students.

The song they were singing, a viral Bobby Shmurda song from 2014 which inspired the vine “Shmoney Dance” trend, contained the N-word and the group could all be heard saying the derogatory term that has been used to insult the Black community. After Smith berates them, Carlton comes to their defense and in the following scene says that his cousin is “flipping out” over a word.

In an interview with Insider, the Carlton actor said that his co-star Tyler Barnhardt, who was one of the white students in the locker room scene, felt uncomfortable saying the slur.

“We approach these really tough subjects with a lot of delicacy,” Sholotan said. “But I remember the first few takes Tyler was actually nervous slash uncomfortable saying that word. Rightfully so. He’s the nicest person on the planet. I don’t think that’s a word he’s ever said.”

He continued: “I’m not gonna speak for him, but I can imagine it feels icky. We all made sure we were on the same page and the scene that we were shooting is so important.”

The argument between Carlton and Smith brings up a common debate on whether white people should be able to use the slur when it’s used in popular songs by Black artists.

In 2018, Kendrick Lamar stopped his performance of “M.A.A.D City” during his set at the Hangout Festival in Alabama to tell a white woman, who he had asked to perform with him on stage for the song, to “bleep” the N-word after she repeatedly used it in the song.

When asked what he thought about his white co-stars saying the N-word, Sholotan said that when the slur is used in art it should be “in service of something greater.”

“Bel Air is a reboot of “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” Will Smith’s breakthrough into acting.

NBCUniversal; Peacock

“Once you start looking deeper and deeper into it you realize that he’s just trying to survive,” Sholotan said. “He’s the only Black kid in a room full of white guys. All lacrosse players, all huge and they’re saying the n-word. What’s he gonna, do?”

He continued: “I think this is so important because that’s so integral to the Black experience. This idea of making the choice. Whether to assimilate into white spaces or whether to stand up for what you believe in and it’s a tough decision, especially if you’re a 16-year-old kid who deals with anxiety.”

Sholotan also said that this scene worked because it was a common microaggression rather than an “outlandish” racist scenario.

New episodes of “Bel-Air” are out on Thursdays on Peacock TV.

‘Bel-Air’ review: ‘The Fresh Prince’ goes down a dark path in a Peacock drama that’s better than it has any right to be

Inspired by a 2019 fan-made trailer that went viral (and whose creator, Morgan Cooper, is a director, producer and co-writer here), the series could easily have become a classic case of taking a three-minute gag too far. Yet the creative team under showrunners T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson blows up the opening credits of the original sitcom — which explained how the character came to live with his wealthy relatives — in a very clever way.

Will Smith (Jabari Banks) has a bright future, with a looming basketball scholarship that will take him out of Philadelphia and put him on a path to bigger and better things. But an encounter with a gang member goes wrong, and his hubris leads him to try settling matters on the playground, a plan that backfires in a dangerous manner.

Understandably concerned, Will’s mom (April Parker Jones) ships him off to Los Angeles and relatives he barely knows, as evidenced by his stunned expression when he first catches sight of their gated mansion. “You did not tell me that your family was White,” the driver (Jordan L. Jones) says.

Still, fitting in isn’t sitcom-easy in this telling, with Will’s arrival provoking jealousy from his cousin Carlton (Olly Sholotan), who’s hiding his own secret, and tensions involving his Aunt Vivian (Cassandra Freeman) and Uncle Philip (Adrian Holmes) — the latter in the midst of a race to become District Attorney, but facing questions about street cred due to his zip code.

As constructed, there’s a strain of “Gossip Girl” running through “Bel-Air’s” DNA, given the power dynamics at the posh private school the kids attend. The show also explores racial politics, with Will responding angrily when one of Carlton’s White friends sings provocative rap lyrics, an objection that Carlton dismisses.

Already the recipient of a two-season order, no one can accuse the new series of moving too slowly; rather, the writers race through soap-opera-ish plot developments in the first three episodes, provoking skepticism about whether the producers have frontloaded the action a little too much.

That, too, underscores the difference between “The Fresh Prince” — introduced on a broadcast network more than 30 years ago, and celebrated in a 2020 reunion special — and “Bel-Air,” situated on a streaming service where the game is to burn brightly and garner attention.

Promoting the show during the Super Bowl might not be the ideal juxtaposition for a dark drama, but in terms of percentages, if the series can hook a tiny fraction of those viewers the bet will pay off for Peacock.

While it’s possible to second-guess that strategy, in terms of delivering a show improbably worthy of such pricey TV real estate, “Bel-Air” has held up its end of the bargain.

“Bel-Air” premieres Feb. 13 on Peacock.
