A 65-year-old Asian woman was verbally and physically assaulted while on her way to church this morning in the Hells Kitchen neighborhood in New York City, police said.

The suspect approached the woman and punched and kicked her until she fell to the ground. He then continued to kick her several times while she was on the ground.

“F— you. You don’t belong here,” he allegedly said, The New York Daily News reported.

The woman sustained a serious physical injury and was taken NYU-Langone Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Security footage from a nearby building released by the NYPD shows a security guard closing the door of the building instead of helping the woman.

People who work nearby told the Daily News the suspect is homeless and wanders around the neighborhood.

Police released images of the suspect and are asking for help in identifying him.

The incident comes as the NYPD is investigating another potential hate crime in which a suspect is wanted for violently attacking an Asian-American man on a Brooklyn subway car.

A video of the violent encounter circulated on social media. It shows punches being exchanged between two men before the suspect chokes the Asian-American man. In the video, people are seen watching, but no one intervenes.

The incidents come as Asian-American hate crimes are on the rise in the US. Stop AAPI Hate, a reporting center that has been tracking cases from March to December of last year, said they received “over 2,808 firsthand accounts of anti-Asian hate” crimes since the coronavirus pandemic started.

12-year-old boy abducted, sexually assaulted and shot in Miami

A violent sex fiend abducted a 12-year-old boy from a Miami street early Saturday morning — then sexually assaulted and shot the child, local police said.

The victim was walking on 43rd Terrace near 30th Avenue in the Brownsville neighborhood at about 2 a.m., when a man forced him into a black car, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

The suspect drove a few blocks away, where he sexually assaulted the boy and shot him, police said. He then forced the victim from the car and drove off, police said.

A man who was riding on a bike near the scene of the crime told a local news station that he pulled over to help the boy after he heard the child screaming.

“He was screaming. ‘Help someone, help me, please,’ ” the man, who said his name was Johnny, told Local 10.

“I bring him to the store so they can call the police for him,” Johnny added to the station. “He was conscience, then he fell on the sidewalk and said he had been shot.”

Surveillance video obtained by the station shows the boy stumbling up to a street corner while bleeding from his head before he collapsed to the ground.

Another passerby offered him water and a towel, the video shows.

Police showed up to the scene a short while later and rushed the critically injured kid to a local hospital.

Johnny, the Good Samaritan, told WSVN that he was grateful he was there to help the boy — but added the disturbing scene weighed on his mind.

“I couldn’t sleep at all that night, you know?” he said.

Demi Lovato claims drug dealer assaulted her before overdose

Demi Lovato claims she was sexually assaulted and “left for dead” by the dealer who delivered her a dangerous cocktail of heroin and other drugs on the night she suffered a near-fatal overdose three years ago.

The “Heart Attack” singer recalls how she was forced to face what happened when she woke up in the hospital after the incident and doctors asked her if she had had consensual sex.

“I remembered him lying on top of me, so I said, ‘yes,’” Lovato says in her YouTube docuseries, “Dancing With the Devil.”

She says she soon realized, however, that because of her highly inebriated state the night of the July 2018 near-tragedy, she had been in no condition to agree to sex.

“It wasn’t until maybe a month after my overdose that I realized, ‘Hey, you weren’t in any state of mind to make a consensual decision,’” she recalls. “That kind of trauma doesn’t go away overnight.”

Lovato, 28, admits that after her overdose she relapsed once more.

“I wish I could say the last night that I ever touched heroin was the night of my overdose but it wasn’t,” she says, explaining that she wanted to take “the power back” from her drug dealer, whom she didn’t name, after he allegedly assaulted her.

“I wanted to rewrite his choice of violating me,” she explains. “I wanted it now to be my choice, and he also had something that I wanted, which were drugs. I ended up getting high.”

As part of a misguided plan to get “the power back” after a weeklong intensive trauma retreat she even called up the dealer who attacked her and told him: “I’m going to f–k you.”

Lovato says she regretted doing that, as she realized that, in the aftermath of her relapse, she had hit rock bottom.

“I thought, ‘How did I pick up the same drugs that put me in the hospital?’” she recalls. “I was like mortified at my decisions.”

Now sober from the drugs that put her in the hospital, Lovato says in the docuseries — and in a cover story for the March issue of Elle — she doesn’t restrict herself entirely from marijuana or alcohol.

“I’ve learned that shutting the door on things makes me want to open the door even more,” she says. “I know I’m done with the stuff that’s gonna kill me … but I wish that I could get some relief maybe through like weed or something, right?”

Pennsylvania man Michael John Lopatic assaulted police officer, stole another’s bodycam during Capitol riot, prosecutors say

Court records show that Lopatic, of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, is charged with assaulting a police officer, civil disorder, entering restricted grounds, physical violence on restricted grounds, and disorderly conduct in a restrictive building.

The criminal complaint and FBI affidavit filed against Lopatic remain under seal, but a motion for pretrial detention is shedding light on the government’s case against him.

According to the motion, an officer with the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) was trying to rescue another officer from rioters outside the Capitol when Lopatic “emerged from the crowd, climbed over a handrail, and charged” at the officer.

In describing the assault, which was caught on police bodycam video, prosecutors say that Lopatic, “assaulted (the officer) by continuously punching him in the head,” and that, “at one point, the defendant grabbed (the officer) by the head and appeared to hit him with an uppercut.”

Prosecutors also said that after the alleged assault, Lopatic was seen stealing “the body worn camera of another MPD officer and later destroyed it.” In stealing the bodycam, prosecutors said that Lopatic had to break through a “human shield” of “protesters trying to protect (the officer) from the violent mob.”

Lopatic told FBI agents that he stole the bodycam and got rid of it while traveling back home from the riot, according to the motion.

In the months and weeks leading up to the riot, prosecutors also said that Lopatic posted, “threatening messages about elected leaders in Washington.” Lopatic allegedly posted a number of photos of the birds he shot while hunting, writing in the captions that he’d named them after Democratic politicians.

“I got a double today,” Lopatic allegedly wrote, according to a screenshot in the motion. “Two shots, two kills. Both head shots. I got a rooster and a hen. I named them Joe and Kamala.”

They also say he wrote on January 1, advocating for others to “ASSEMBLE ON THE CAPITAL JANUARY 6TH, 2021. UNITED WE STAND, GO FORTH AND WE FIGHT.”

CNN reached out to Lopatic’s lawyer who declined to comment on the charges. Court records show that a federal judge granted the prosecutor’s motion for the pretrial detention of Lopatic.
