Second woman renews accusation that Walker pressured her to have an abortion

Comment

A second woman who accused Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker of pressuring her to have an abortion on Tuesday criticized the former football player for dismissing her claims and called for him to publicly meet with her ahead of the Dec. 6 runoff election.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe, participated in a news conference with high-profile attorney Gloria Allred, offering more details of what she says was a years-long affair with Walker that resulted in her becoming pregnant in 1993. The woman first came forward in late October after another former girlfriend of Walker’s accused him of pressuring and paying for her to have an abortion. Walker has denied allegations that he paid for abortions.

The woman said she decided to speak out again and offer more evidence of their relationship after seeing Walker dismiss her allegations and suggest he didn’t know who she could be. Her remarks come two weeks before the Georgia runoff between Walker and Democratic Sen. Raphael G. Warnock.

“Herschel, I never thought you would deny knowing me or our relationship,” she said in the news conference. “Are you really willing to do anything, including lying to the voters in Georgia, to become a senator?

“Do you have the guts to meet with me in person in public?” added the woman, who was visibly emotional and crying throughout the news conference. “Look me in the eye and tell me to my face that you don’t know me — and that none of what I just said is true. I’m looking forward to your response.” The woman said she would be willing to travel to Georgia to meet with Walker.

Walker’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The abortion allegations have drawn much attention as Walker has campaigned as a staunch opponent of abortions, with no exceptions. Last month, he sought to soften his stance during a debate with Warnock, saying he agrees with Georgia’s restrictive abortion law, which allows exceptions for rape, incest and to save the life of the mother. The law, which bans abortions as early as six weeks, was overturned last week by a Fulton County Superior Court judge. The state of Georgia is appealing the ruling.

“I’m done with this foolishness. I’ve already told people this is a lie and I’m not going to entertain” it, Walker told reporters late last month of the second woman’s allegations. He added: “I also want you to know I didn’t kill JFK either.”

In Tuesday’s news conference, Allred and the woman shared audio recordings of Walker — one of an answering machine message and another of a phone call between the two. The woman read aloud a letter that she said Walker sent her parents and one she said he sent to her, saying, “I’m sorry I have put you through all this stuff.”

Allred also read aloud a signed declaration of a friend who the accuser had confided in about being impregnated by Walker.

In the declaration, the friend said the woman had initially said she had a miscarriage. But the friend had suspected it was an abortion because Walker, who was married to his first wife at the time, did not want the woman to continue with the pregnancy. The friend added that, years later, the woman shared that Walker had driven her to a clinic to obtain an abortion.

The Washington Post did not independently confirm these allegations.

The woman did not appear in person at the first news conference in Los Angeles, speaking via Zoom. Days later, she showed her face in an interview with ABC News. On Tuesday, she was present for the news conference in person but continued to go by “Jane Doe,” citing concerns for her safety.

She shared that she first decided to come forward last month after seeing Walker’s handling of the first woman’s allegations that he pressured and paid for her to have an abortion. She said: “I intended to take this to my grave,” but decided to speak up when she saw him say he had never paid for an abortion and knew he was lying.

Asked if she hopes sharing her story will impact the runoff, the woman said, “I think it’s up to the voters of Georgia to decide who they want to represent them and who to believe.”

Walker has denied paying for any abortions in the past. The Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Georgia initially denied knowing who the first woman accusing him could be. The woman, who produced a receipt from an abortion clinic and a check signed by Walker, later came out and shared that she is the mother of one of his children. The woman told The Washington Post that she had to press Walker to pay for the abortion that he wanted her to have. Since then, he has acknowledged sending her money, but says he didn’t know it was for an abortion, as she alleges.

Meanwhile, Georgia Honor, a group tied to Senate Majority PAC, which is aligned with Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), on Tuesday started airing new ads attacking Walker over his antiabortion stance and the abortion allegations. One of the ads features a clip from an interview in which the woman told ABC News she “felt threatened and I thought I had no choice.”

A new poll, commissioned by AARP and released Tuesday, showed Warnock leading Walker, 51 percent to 47 percent, within the margin of error of 4.4 percentage points.

Walker on Tuesday night was scheduled to hold a rally in Powder Springs, Ga., with Sens. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) and Ted Cruz (R-Tex.). Republicans have sought to bolster Walker’s candidacy citing the importance of flipping the seat, even though Democrats have already secured control of the Senate with 50 seats and Vice President Harris’s tiebreaking vote, when needed.

Democrats are fighting to reelect Warnock, who won the seat in a 2021 special runoff election, and expand their majority to 51. The senator, who is seeking a full, six-year term, has become increasingly vocal in taking jabs at Walker over the abortion allegations.

“He wants a nationwide ban on abortion. He says he doesn’t support reproductive choice. He said no exceptions, which is a rather curious position for him to take,” Warnock said over the weekend in a rally with students at Emory University. He paused while the crowd applauded, adding, “Yeah, that’s what I said.”

Beyoncé brands Right Said Fred accusation ‘false’ and ‘disparaging’

They got her Heated.

Beyoncé set the record straight after UK pop duo Right Said Fred said she was too “arrogant” to ask permission to sample their salacious track “I’m Too Sexy” for her new album.

In a statement to The Post, the “Break My Soul” hitmaker, 41, denied the claim, calling it “incredibly disparaging.”

“The comments made by Right Said Fred stating that used ‘I’m Too Sexy’ in ‘Alien Superstar’ without permission are erroneous and incredibly disparaging,” Beyonce’s team told The Post.

The group, which was formed in 1989 by brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass, accused the singer of using their salacious 1992 hit for her track “Alien Superstar,” The Sun reported.

The single was part of her hit album “Renaissance,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in August after being leaked online two days ahead of its July release.

The British duo says Beyoncé’s new hit “Alien Superstar” sounds very similar to their hit “I’m Too Sexy.”

Beyoncé’s team said permission was asked for and granted, and the group was subsequently paid.

“Permission was not only granted for its use, but they publicly spoke of their gratitude for being on the album. For their song, there was no sound recording use, only the composition was utilized.

“Permission was asked of their publisher on May 11, 2022, and the publisher approved the use on June 15, 2022. They were paid for the usage in August 2022.”

Beyoncé’s team said “the copyright percentage of the Right Said Fred writers with respect to the use of ‘I’m Too Sexy’ is a substantial portion of the composition.”

“Collectively, the Right Said Fred writers own more than any other singular writer and have co-writer credit. This accusation is false,” the statement concluded.

The Post has reached out to Beyoncé’s reps for further comment.

Beyoncé’s team has said they were granted permission and paid for the usage of the composition.
Beyonce

Right Said Fred found the supposed song-sampling particularly perturbing as prior artists had reportedly asked permission to include the track. “Everyone else, Drake and Taylor Swift, they came to us,” the sibling pop sensations insisted.

Indeed, Drake sampled the track for his 2021 hit “Way 2 Sexy” while Swift employed the song in her 2017 “Reputation” lead single “Look What You Made Me Do.”

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé was accused of stealing music for “Renaissance.”

Ahead of the album’s release in July, singer Kelis accused Beyoncé of allegedly using a sample of her 2000 song “Get Along With You” without her permission. The “Milkshake” singer claims she found out about the sample on Bey’s song “Energy” when the entire world did.

Knowles has since removed the sample from the track.

Kylie Jenner is clapping back after being accused of bypassing “proper sanitation protocols” while in Milan, Italy, testing products for her beauty line, Kylie Cosmetics.

Kevin James Bennett, a cosmetic developer, took to Instagram on Thursday to publicly call out Jenner for not following protocols. The socialite originally uploaded several images of herself in a white coat, without gloves or a hair net on, mixing different make-up products.

“I’m a cosmetic developer and work with cosmetic manufacturers (and their labs) as part of my job,” he wrote in his lengthy caption. “I have very short hair, and I’ve NEVER been allowed into the lab or onto the manufacturing floor without a hair net, shoe covers, mask…and disposable GLOVES.”

He continued: “Kylie is gaslighting her followers into thinking she is creating cosmetics. And I’d like to know what ignorant manufacturer (in Italy) let her stage this photo-op in their lab and on the manufacturing floor – without following proper sanitation protocols. I need the name because I want to make sure my clients NEVER work with them.”

“kevin – this picture is not taken in a manufacturing facility,” Jenner began. “i would never bypass sanitary protocols and neither would any other celeb or beauty brand owner. that’s completely unacceptable i agree.”

Jenner shut down the allegations, claiming she was in a “personal space” and not the Kylie Cosmetic’s manufacturing facility.

China rejects NASA accusation it will take over the moon

BEIJING (Reuters) – China on Monday rejected as an irresponsible smear a warning from the chief of NASA that China might “take over” the moon as part of a military programme, saying it has always called for the building of a community of nations in outer space.

China has stepped up the pace of its space programme in the past decade, with exploration of the moon a focus. China made its first lunar uncrewed landing in 2013 and expects to launch rockets powerful enough to send astronauts to the moon towards the end of this decade.

“We must be very concerned that China is landing on the moon and saying: ‘It’s ours now and you stay out’,” NASA Administrator Bill Nelson told German newspaper Bild in an interview published on Saturday.

The U.S. space agency chief said China’s space programme was a military one and that China had stolen ideas and technology from others.

“This is not the first time that the head of the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration has ignored the facts and spoken irresponsibly about China,” said Zhao Lijian, a spokesman at the Chinese foreign ministry.

“The U.S. side has constantly constructed a smear campaign against China’s normal and reasonable outer space endeavours, and China firmly opposes such irresponsible remarks.”

China has always promoted the building of a shared future for humanity in outer space and opposed its weaponisation and any arms race in space, he said.

NASA, under its Artemis programme, plans to send a crewed mission to orbit the moon in 2024 and make a crewed landing near the lunar south pole by 2025.

China is planning uncrewed missions to the moon’s south pole some time this decade.

Ezra Miller accused of housing 3 kids on farm filled with guns and weed

Photo: John Phillips (Getty Images)

Another week, another story of odd, alarming behavior surrounding The Flash star Ezra Miller. Today, Rolling Stone reports that Miller has been accused of housing three young children and their mother on a farm they own in Vermont, which unnamed sources have alleged is filled with pot and unattended firearms.

Now, let’s be clear: Said accusation is being primarily levied by the father of the kids in question, who is obviously not a disinterested party here. He was previously the subject of a domestic abuse accusation from the children’s mother, who has characterized him as a “violent and abusive ex” who Miller helped her escape from. (The man in question denies it, and says he’s motivated only by concern for his kids. He’s also reportedly filed a domestic case against the mother for taking the kids out-of-state.)

This latest accusation, thus, is not entirely dissimilar from the one Miller was faced with earlier this year, when the parents of an 18-year-old accused them of first grooming, and then essentially kidnapping their adult child—right down to the bit where the “victim” in question issues a statement saying that Miller actually just helped them get out of an uncomfortable or abusive living situation. The other party then issues a statement that Miller has somehow coerced these statements, and the whole thing devolves into a PR nightmare muddle.

In the case of the farm, Rolling Stone does claim to have some clearer evidence that something might be on the hinky side, having apparently viewed footage of guns strewn around a living room, including near “a pile of stuffed animals.” One of Miller’s associates has also made statements about running what appears to be an unlicensed weed farm on the property; Rolling Stone also quotes an unnamed witness (whose stake in all this is thus unknown), who claimed they saw a 1-year-old kid put a loose bullet in their mouth during a visit to the property, which is obviously a very alarming accusation.

But, again, here’s a statement from the mother—who Miller flew, with her kids, out of Hawaii back in April, after facing numerous accusations of disruptive or illegal behavior in the state—claiming that the farm is “a healing haven” for her and her children. “They may have firearms for self-defense purposes and they are stored in a part of the house that the children never go in… My kids are able to relax more into their healing because of the safety and nurturing Ezra has been providing for them.”

The real throughline with all this stuff, of course, is that it looks incredibly bad, regardless of the ultimate truths attached; Miller’s camp declined to issue any statements about this latest round of accusations, but we’re pretty sure anyone hanging out around the Warner Bros. studio lot in Hollywood this week would be able to hear new ulcers spontaneously generate in the stomachs of the executives who’ve pitched their superhero franchise wagons to their star.

The Flash hits theaters in June 2023…y’know, probably.

A police dashcam captured a strikingly similar pursuit in Ohio.

Ohio police have released startling video of a 16-year-old suspect leading officers on a high-speed chase and jumping out of the moving vehicle to evade capture.

The teen was the driver and sole occupant of the stolen vehicle when the pursuit began around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday in Whitehall, a suburb of Columbus, Whitehall police said.

Police dashcam video shows the teen driving on the shoulder and jumping out of the passenger side door of the moving vehicle. The teen appears to hit the guard rail as the car continues a few hundred yards before coming to a stop. An officer in pursuit can be seen rushing over to help the teen.
