Jeff Bridges Offers A Health Update

Acting legend Jeff Bridges has offered a health update on Instagram, saying his cancer is in remission: “the ‘9 X 12′ mass has shrunk down to the size of a marble [and] my COVID is in the rear view mirror”.

Bridges stars and executive produces FX on Hulu’s new drama series “The Old Man” – his return to series television after five decades. That project was two-thirds into its shoot when production was shut down mid-March 2020 amid the pandemic.

Filming then restarted with three episodes left to shoot when in October it was put on hiatus after Bridges was diagnosed with lymphoma and started treatment. Earlier this year he was diagnosed with COVID.

In the same post, Bridges included a sneak peek at footage filmed before his diagnosis. The plan is to resume production in early 2022 contingent on Bridges’ health which sounds like it is progressing well.

An adaptation of the Thomas Perry novel, Bridges plays a CIA agent who absconded decades ago and now lives off the grid. When an assassin (Gbenga Akinnagbe) arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.

John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman, Alia Shawkat, Bill Heck, Leem Lubany and EJ Bonilla co-star.
