Mariah Carey’s hit 1994 single “All I Want For Christmas Is You” continues to reign as the No. 1 holiday jam. Just last year, the song broke Spotify records as the most-streamed song during a single day (Dec. 25). Now, the song is the world’s first Christmas single to sell more than 10 million copies, which Carey is happy about.
‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ is now certified diamond by the RIAA
Carey’s classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” broke new records on Dec. 3 when the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) presented the singer with Diamond Award for it. The song is history-making, with it becoming the first-holiday single to ever receive a diamond status.
“The continued love for my song never ceases to amaze me and fill my heart with a multitude of emotions,” Carey said in a press release, as reported by People Magazine. “It blows my mind that ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ has endured different eras of the music industry. The RIAA DIAMOND award?! Wowww! I’m so fortunate to have the greatest fans on Earth, my Lambily, who continue to support my legacy. I love you.”

What else does Mariah Carey have in store for Christmas?
Carey’s second Amazon Prime Video music special, Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues, was released on Dec. 3. She has also partnered with the fast-food chain McDonald’s for a special budget holiday menu centered around the theme of “12 Days of Deals.” Appropriately titled “12 Deals of Christmas,” customers can choose free menu options available wrapped in special paper with a minimum purchase of $1. Carey says McDonald’s is her favorite fast food joint, naming the cheeseburger her favorite off the menu.
