Yellowstone Recap: Season 5, Episode 6 — [Spoiler] Dies

Sunday’s Yellowstone marked the last ride for one veteran cowboy. But John refused to be sad about it, given that, as he put it, “I couldn’t’ve dreamed up a better death if you paid me.” Which of the wranglers didn’t make it home from the range? Read on and find out…

‘DID ANYONE THINK TO PACK ANY VODKA?’ | Early on in “Cigarettes, Whiskey, a Meadow and You,” Rainwater was alerted to the fact that POTUS was making a surprise speech at the reservation. Its purpose, Angela was only too delighted to explain to her nemesis, was for him to endorse the chairman’s young rival Martin for his job. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Monica defended both Beth and the Duttons’ way of life to to Summer. “Everywhere I go, I get a lecture in this place,” the ex-con sighed. And still not a tofu steak in sight.

Out on the trail, everybody was having a jolly good time, even Beth, with whom Rip snuck off to show her the secret meadow that he’d once intended to be the site of their wedding. Though she was truly moved by the spot’s beauty as well as the gesture, she had no interest in chilling with her husband. “F—k your sunset, baby,” she said as she started taking off her top. “You watch me.” After dark, John marveled at how splendid a day it had been. “If it wasn’t perfect,” agreed longtime chum Emmett, “it was damn close.”

‘YOU SURE EARNED IT, OLD FRIEND’ | Needless to say, when everybody woke up the following morning, Emmett… didn’t. It was OK, though. “He just died on the trail, like every cowboy dreams it,” John observed. Still, he had to hustle back to the ranch, lest Emmett’s wife see the herd come back without him. Once there, the camera crew that Clara had invited for the branding caught John breaking the news to the tearful widow. As the subsequent party got underway, both Summer and Lynelle’s jealous streaks emerged, with the senator noting to John what a strange coincidence it was that “there’s never any ugly women in bad spots around you.”

Elsewhere at the hoedown, Carter was invited to dance by a sweet young lady, and Ryan and Abby agreed to pursue a relationship even though they agreed that it was a dead end. While all of this was going on, Sarah continued to play Jamie like a fiddle, stroking his, ahem, ego and suggesting that her ulterior motive for [bleeping] him had become getting him elected governor so that he could give Market Equities back its airport. He was all in, so to speak, but watching his father console Emmett’s widow on the evening news, he admitted that John was “hard to beat in a fair fight.” Sarah agreed. So “I don’t think we can let him show up to the fight, Jamie.”

Yikes. What, exactly, did she mean by that? Read what portrayer Dawn Olivieri has to say on the subject here.

Kanye ‘Ye’ West Suspended From Clubhouse After Spewing Antisemitic Remarks During Live Q&A

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, was suspended from Clubhouse after spewing antisemitic remarks at a private online event Saturday, TheWrap has confirmed.

Ye and Wack100 were hosting a private Q&A on Clubhouse — entrance was $20 — that extended to about 50 minutes before the session was abruptly ended and Ye was suspended from the social media platform after making multiple antisemitic comments during the event.

When asked to confirm West was suspended from Clubhouse as a result of what was said at the live event, a spokesperson for the company responded with the following statement.

“We took action to shut down a conversation yesterday because it violated our policies,” the statement reads. “We also suspended those who violated the policies. There’s absolutely no place for bullying, hate speech or abuse on our platform as explicitly stated in our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.”

TheWrap was unable to reach West for comment and Wack100 didn’t immediately respond to our request for comment.

During the almost 56-minute conversation, Ye and Wack100 discussed some of the latest controversy surrounding the artist, including Adidas ending its partnership with Ye.

Ye also continued his ongoing rampage against Endeavor CEO Ari Emmanuel — against whom he previously wrote a long, antisemitic screed alongside a graphic post-lynching photo of civil rights icon Emmett Til on Instagram — by taunting Emmanuel for “being at the lowest level of the power structure.”

Though Ye made comments regarding Jewish people throughout the session, the event was ended by Clubhouse after Ye spouted a conspiracy theory suggesting that Jewish people “are used by the Chinese” to control Black people, adding that Jewish people “are just middlemen.”

You can listen to most of the full conversation here, though there are inaccuracies in the YouTube channel’s description of the video.

Just last week, Clubhouse hosted a session spotlighting the trust and safety team in which Joe Armenia, Colleen Mean and Rosy Baker answered questions about the social media platform’s content moderation process, including monitoring live conversations.

Charles releases first Christmas card as king

The King has released his first Christmas card as monarch, choosing a photograph taken of himself and the Queen Consort at a Highland Gathering just days before the Queen died.

On Sunday, the Palace released the image, taken by award-winning photographer Sam Hussein, selected for the historic seasonal card.

The photograph shows Charles, 74, and Camilla, 75, smiling at the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering on September 3rd, five days before the Queen died on September 8th.

It captures the King from a side profile, dressed in a tweed suit with a red, green and beige tie.

Meanwhile, Camilla is seen wearing a green suit and matching hat with a pheasant motif, and pearl earrings.

During the event, Charles officially opened a new structure celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as he joined spectators at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park for the annual Highland Games event. The Queen was not in attendance due to her declining health.

Charles cut a heather rope to mark the opening of the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee Archway.

The Palace released the image selected for the couple’s first historic Christmas card, saying it was taken by award-winning photographer Sam Hussein

Crowds from across the globe joined him and the then Duchess of Cornwall to watch competitors take part in events such as the caber toss, hammer throw and tug-of-war, as well as to celebrate some longstanding Scottish traditions, dance and music.

Camilla and the Princess Royal were presented with heather posies by 10-year-old Chloe Guy and 12-year-old Cassie Stewart, who are both members of the Braemar Royal Highland Society’s dancing class, before the Games got under way.

Camilla appeared to take a sprig of flowers and put it in her buttonhole, which can be seen in the Christmas card photograph.

On Friday, King Charles and the Queen Consort visited the football to learn more about Wrexham’s regeneration, meeting the club’s owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney

King Charles appeared to share a joke with Hollywood A-Lister Ryan Reynolds – who purchased the Welsh football club in February 2021

Last week, the King and Queen Consort met Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as they paid a visit to the football club owned by the stars.

The Royals visited Wrexham AFC, which was bought by the actors in 2021, on Friday and met players and staff as well as the co-chairmen during a tour of the Racecourse Ground.

Deadpool actor Reynolds and McElhenney, who stars in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, joked they had had etiquette lessons ahead of the visit.

Speaking to media ahead of their meeting, Reynolds said: ‘I would say that we’re impossibly excited to welcome him to the Racecourse ground, this historic church that resides in the heart of Wrexham and is the heart of Wrexham.’

‘Rob and I both said early on, and this holds true and for the rest of our lives, we will do anything to uplift and elevate this community and this club and having the King pay a visit is certainly one way to do it. That’s for sure. Very excited.’

Harry and Meghan are told to stay AWAY from King Charles’ coronation

The actors said they had not watched the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s controversial Netflix show, which aired the day before the visit.

McElhenney said: ‘I’ve never heard of it.’

The stars have chronicled their takeover of the club in documentary Welcome to Wrexham, which was being filmed when the King and Camilla visited.

It was likely a welcome distraction following the release of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series on Thursday.

A coalition of political grandees, senior military figures and respected historians urged the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to stay away from next year’s Coronation following the fallout from their incendiary series.

Amid a chorus of highly regarded voices calling on Harry and Meghan to stay at home, one former Cabinet Minister said the couple ‘categorically should not be’ at Westminster Abbey when Charles is crowned on May 6.

The intervention comes days after the first episodes of the series included Harry’s claims of ‘unconscious bias’ regarding race in the

; an inflammatory description of the late Queen’s beloved Commonwealth as ‘Empire 2.0’; and Meghan’s ostentatious parody of a curtsey.

Former Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith told The Mail on Sunday: ‘If they dislike the Royal Family so much why would they attend the Coronation?’

Fellow Tory veteran David Mellor echoed the sentiment, saying: ‘They shouldn’t come to the Coronation. They categorically shouldn’t come.

‘They make money out of selling their family down the river. I think it should be made clear that the British people do not want them there.’

He also suggested that people ‘would be perfectly entitled to boo if the couple did turn up’, adding: ‘They are a sad pair and there is no hope for them on their current course.’

Lady Antonia Fraser, the historian and author, added: ‘I hope they don’t come because I want the King and Queen to be the centre of attention. It worries me that if they come the cameras might waste time on them. They should stay holding hands in Hollywood.’

A poll for The Mail on Sunday today reveals almost half the public agree the couple should be barred from the Coronation.

Also, twice as many people think Prince Harry should be excluded from the line of succession and be stripped of his Duke Of Sussex title, compared to those who believe they should be allowed to maintain their status.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Reply To Netflix Criticism

A representative for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hit back at the “distorted narrative” that the couple left the royal family in 2020 for “privacy.”

Amid the release of the Netflix documentary series, Harry & Meghan, some people began accusing the pair of hypocrisy over the false idea that they left the royal family over privacy concerns. Infamous Megxit troll Piers Morgan even tweeted, “Imagine bleating about privacy, then doing a kiss-and-tell reality series about your private lives?”

The couple’s press secretary subsequently issued a statement that read, “The Duke and Duchess have never cited privacy as the reason for stepping back. This distorted narrative was intended to trap the couple into silence.”

“They are choosing to share their story, on their terms, and yet, the tabloid media has created an entirely untrue narrative that permeates press coverage and public opinion.”

Indeed, Meghan and Harry didn’t cite privacy as a reason for stepping back from the royal family in their January 2020 statement — because they didn’t give any reason at all. “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution,” their Instagram post at the time read.

Shortly after they left their roles, Harry and Meghan did write a letter to various British tabloids saying that they would move forward with a policy of “zero engagement” — but that was because of “distorted, false, or invasive beyond reason” stories written about them.

The following year, Meghan successfully sued publisher Associated Newspapers for invasion of privacy and copyright infringement after they published portions of a letter that she wrote to her father about marrying Harry. Meghan subsequently called the Mail on Sunday’s practices “illegal and dehumanizing” after the victory.

Meghan did address the “false narrative” over privacy head-on in an unaired moment in her March 2021 interview with Oprah, saying, “Everyone has a basic right to privacy. Basic…I’ve never talked about privacy.”

And earlier this year, she told the Cut that it was easier to send Archie to school in the US — as in England, she wouldn’t be able to do school pickup without hoards of photographers. “Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child,” she said.

Emily Blunt says Tom Cruise told her to ‘stop being such a p****’ on set

Emily Blunt appeared on the podcast Smartless and recalled being told to toughen up by co-star Tom Cruise. (Photo: Jim Spellman/WireImage)

Emily Blunt got a dose of tough love from co-star Tom Cruise during the production of their 2014 blockbuster film, Edge of Tomorrow.

During an appearance on the podcast Smartless, the British actress, 39, recalled being told by the iconic action star to “stop being such a p****.”

The grueling production of the science-fiction action film, which featured Blunt and Cruise tackling an alien species, called for the stars to wear “enormous” suits to make the scenes as realistic as possible.

“We had to wear these enormous suits, which I think would’ve been great if we had CGI’d them, but we wanted to do it in a tactile way,” Blunt explained to podcast hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, the New York Post reported. “When you hear the word ‘tactile,’ you think that sounds nice and cozy. There was nothing cozy about these suits. It was like 85 pounds. It was so heavy. The first time I put it on I started to cry, and Cruise didn’t know what to do.”

Blunt went on to say that she voiced her concern to Cruise about how she was going to manage to make it through production in an 85-pound suit that weighed her down.

“I was like, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and just started to cry,” Blunt recalled. “I said, ‘I’m feeling a bit panicky about the whole shoot.’”

In response to her concerns, Cruise gave it to Blunt straight: “He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p****, OK?’”

Luckily, Blunt took the comment well and responded to Cruise by laughing it off.

Blunt is no stranger to tackling challenging situations while filming movies. Her husband, actor/director John Krasinski, filmed scenes for A Quiet Place Part II, the sequel to his 2018 alien invasion thriller, A Quiet Place, in 100-degree weather inside a coal mine. Last year, she explained that during the production of the adventure film Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson, she stepped on a nest of fire ants and became covered in the dangerous insects.

“I was in Tanzania and I was climbing Mount Meru and we’d been warned about fire ants. They’re like these giant red ants, and when they bite you, it’s … fire. So I was walking and I looked down and I had clearly stepped in a nest, and I must’ve had a hundred just climbing up my boot around my ankle,” Blunt told Yahoo Entertainment last year. Blunt tackled the situation quickly, pulling her pants down in front of everyone and shaking them out until the ants were scattered back on the ground. “That was the scariest. Everyone was screaming and trying to flick them off of me. They were climbing all up my leg and I did get some fiery little nips.”

Clearly, Blunt’s co-stars think highly of her: Johnson referred to Blunt as a “female Indiana Jones” for her adventurous pursuits onscreen.

Kanye West labelled ‘Antisemite of the year’ amid anti-Semitic backlash

Kanye West is named ‘Antisemite of the year’ due to his recent relentless anitsemitism by a watchdog group StopAntisemitism.

According to TMZ, after several weeks of the campaign and almost 10,000 votes from members, watchdog group StopAntisemitism has named Ye the most problematic person of 2022

Liora Rez, SA’s Executive Director, tells the entertainment outlet, “Kanye uses his celebrity platform to push dangerous antisemitic tropes about Jews and power, and he refuses to stop. His continuous onslaught of bigoted statements has resulted in horrific antisemitic acts perpetrated by white supremacists, Black Hebrew Israelites, and other fringe groups looking to cause Jews harm.”

She continues, “Jew-hatred is already out of control in the United States, and the last thing we need is a celebrity like Kanye to add fuel to that fire.”
