Mary-Kate Olsen, 34, and Olivier Sarkozy, 51, granted a divorce

Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy’s divorce has been granted, nine months after their five-year marriage came to an end.

The former couple’s settlement was signed off by a judge at the New York Supreme Court on Monday, January 25, US Weekly reports.

The actress, 34, and the French banker, 51 – the half-brother of Nicolas Sarkozy, the former President of France – agreed a divorce settlement two weeks ago during a virtual hearing on January 13.

Michael Mosberg, attorney for father-of-two Sarkozy, told the New York Supreme Court at that earlier hearing ‘the deal is now done’.

It’s over: Mary-Kate Olsen, 34, and Olivier Sarkozy’s, 51,  divorce has been finalised nine months after they ended their five year marriage (pictured in 2016)

He said that the final details were agreed upon on January 13 before a hearing with Judge Lori Sattler.

Nancy Chemtob, who represents Olsen, said that ‘all issues are resolved’ but no details were given to the court.

Olsen nodded when Judge Sattler said: ‘If we get the agreement done you don’t have to see me again which, as much as I enjoy seeing everyone here, I think you’d prefer to be done with this’.

The judge added: ‘Let’s get it done and get them divorced’.

Reaching an agreement: Mary-Kate and Olivier – who tied the knot in 2015 – had agreed a divorce settlement on January 13 (pictured via Zoom for the hearing)

Former Full House star Olsen, who runs her fashion line The Row, reportedly has an ‘ironclad prenup’ meaning her fortune estimated to be around $250m is safe whatever happens during the split from Sarkozy.

During the hearing earlier this month Mosberg told the judge: ‘As of this morning we reached a final agreement. We just need to revise that agreement and get it to you’.

Judge Sattler asked Chemtob if that was correct and she said: ‘We’ve been working very hard and we do have a settlement and will be able to get it signed…all issues are resolved’.

The judge, who had given both parties numerous adjournments on the case, said, ‘I hope that’s the case’.

But she added: ‘Until I see the proof I’m going to hold your feet to the fire a bit.’

All over: The former couple’s settlement was signed off by a judge at the New York Supreme Court on Monday (pictured in 2015)

She said: ‘I do trust and believe this is happening however I’m going to keep control of the case to make sure this gets done and we get them divorced’.

The 15-minute hearing, which was held remotely via video, was plagued by technical difficulties as Olsen couldn’t get her camera working.

She could be heard saying: ‘Guys, I need help up here. Can you hear me? I am so sorry, I’m trying to do this on two computers, I don’t know what’s happening’.

Judge Sattler said: ‘Are you pressing the little camera in the top right corner?’

Olsen eventually got it to work after logging out and logging in.

Sarkozy calmly waited until the hearing began and at one point sipped a coffee.

Happier times: Sarkozy and Olsen got together in 2012 and married in 2015 with a 20-year age gap and split up in 2020 (pictured at the beginning of their romance in 2012)

The couple will have to sell their $13.5m New York townhouse during their bitter divorce with the words ‘those who lose today will win tomorrow’ written on the ceiling.

DailyMail.com previously revealed that the former Full House star and her estranged husband own the lavish home together.

The home features writing in French and Spanish on the ceiling, which takes on a different meaning now that they have broken up.

One of the French inscriptions is a poem from Charles d’Orleans, a member of the French royal family in the 15th century, which begins: ‘Go away, go, go, worry, care and melancholia’.

Another says: ‘All gay (happy) people have the precious gift to stimulate serious people’.

The Spanish writing reads: ‘Those who lose today will win tomorrow.’

The townhouse was likely the focus of the split from Sarkozy, a banker, who is worth around $60m.

They also own a sprawling five-bedroom and 4,000-square-foot home in Bridgehampton on Long Island worth millions.

For sale: The couple will have to sell their $13.5m New York townhouse during their bitter divorce with the words ‘those who lose today will win tomorrow’ written on the ceiling

In Olsen’s divorce petition, which she filed in the New York Supreme Court in May, she claimed she had been effectively kicked out of their rented apartment in Gramercy because Sarkozy had not renewed the $29,000 a month lease during the height of the coronavirus outbreak.

Sarkozy moved his ex-wife Charlotte Bernard, their two children and his mother into the Bridgehampton home, meaning Olsen could not stay there.

In the petition Olsen asked for continued use of the Bridgehampton home, their home in Gramercy and another home on East 49th Street in Manhattan.

DailyMail.com revealed that the last property mentioned is likely to be the most contentious.

The 8,000-square-foot pad came with a private garage which allows them to come and go without photographers taking pictures of them.

There is also a ballroom, elevator, five bedrooms, 22ft high ceilings, seven fireplaces, a private fountain and an artist’s studio – it was previously owned by painter David Deutsch.

Sarkozy moved his ex-wife Charlotte Bernard (pictured), their two children and his mother into the Bridgehampton home, which some say was the ‘final straw’

The couple have reportedly spent $3m renovating the home which has a communal garden and overlooks a promenade with a ‘Medici fountain’ modeled after the original in Rome.

It is located in the Turtle Bay neighborhood of Manhattan and is close to the United Nations, one of the most sought after

Pictures from inside show a piano in the tastefully decorated living room which has a wood bookcase on the wall.

The writing on the ceiling no doubt had a very different meaning for the couple, especially the poem ‘Allez-vous-en, allez, allez’, which is about sadness staying away from somebody.

According to one analysis on the blog Poetry Treasures, the poem is ‘a plea to be free of cares, sadness and melancholy’.

The post says: ‘Anybody who feels oppressed by the daily grind, precarious living or seemingly insuperable circumstances can understand what the poet is saying in this poem’.

In the divorce petition Olsen’s lawyers said that the relationship between the former couple had ‘broken down irretrievably for a period of at least six months’.

Reports have claimed that the Sarkozy preferred socializing and going out on the town while Olsen was more of a ‘homebody’.

Another issue was that Olsen wanted a baby but Sarkozy had ‘closed the book on that subject’.

A source told E! News: ‘He felt like he had closed that chapter of his life and didn’t want to go back. She didn’t like the idea of not even being able to explore the possibility’.

Other reports claimed that there was ‘simply erosion’ and ‘growing apart’ and Sarkozy moving his family into the Hamptons home was the ‘final straw’.

Sarkozy and Olsen got together in 2012 and married in 2015 with the 20-year age gap apparently being no barrier to them finding love.

They had previously bought another townhouse in Manhattan which they renovated and sold for $6.4m – while living in a rented five story townhouse next door.

Despite only renting the other home, they renovated that one too.

Since they moved out it has been used by a number of famous people including ‘Doctor Who’ star David Tennant.

Song Yoo-jung Dead: Korean Actress was 26

South Korean actress Song Yoo-jung has died age 26. The causes are currently unknown.

The information was confirmed Song’s representatives at the Sublime Artist Agency. The agency also posted the news on Instagram.

Song began as a model and debuted as an actor in MBC’s Golden Rainbow.” She was best known for her recurring role in MBC TV series “Make A Wish” where she appeared in 120 episodes between 2014 and 2015 as the character Han Da-won. More recently Song also appeared in another series “School 2017,” broadcast by KBS2, and “Dear My Name.”

“Actress Song Yoo-jung has left us,” the notice said. “Yoo Jung was always a friend who gave happiness with a bright smile. She was a wonderful actor who played with passion bigger than anyone else. Thank you for joining us as an actor at the Sublime Artist Agency.”

It is understood that Song died on Saturday and that a private funeral has already taken place.

Korea has seen a succession of deaths of young celebrities. These include the death by suicide of K-pop star Jonghyun (real name: Kim Jong-hyun), who was 27. In 2019, Singer Sulli, formerly of the band f(x), was found dead at her home at the age of 25. Another K-pop star Goo Hara, formerly a member of girl band Kara, was found dead at 28.

The Korean music, film and TV industries are currently enjoying global renown due to a combination of talent, rigorous training and social media marketing. Behind the glamour, however, the industry is known to put great pressure on its young stars. And fans can turn into bullying detractors online.

Actresses and other female artists have also killed themselves, complaining of depression and disillusionment with the industry. Jang Ja-yeon, who had a supporting role in the Korean version of hit TV series “Boys Over Flowers,” wrote in her suicide note that she had been forced to perform sexual favors to so-called sponsors who help talent get roles in popular TV series or films.

Jimmy Fallon Busts In and Cleans Steve Kornacki’s Office

In the wake of Steve Kornacki’s energetic election night analysis, Jimmy Fallon visited the MSNBC wonk to drop off a thank-you gift (a $5 Subway gift card and an airplane bottle of whiskey, to be exact), only to learn that Kornacki’s office, also in 30 Rock, is the physical manifestation of all the chaos Steve Kornacki actively battles against every day as a journalist. While Marie Kondo would have wept with joy at the amount of mess Steve has collected, our boy deserves better, which is why Fallon stopped by Monday to clean up Steve Kornacki’s filthy-ass office himself.

“We’re in khaki country now,” he muses as he wanders the empty MSNBC offices. “This feels like I’m in a horror video game.” Of course, Steve Kornacki’s filth is less unwashed coffee mugs and pistachio shells and more pre-tied neckties and an American National Election Studies Data Sourcebook 1952 – 1978. And if you thought he’d gush in appreciation over Fallon’s gesture, you’ve misunderstood the source of Steve Kornacki’s enthusiasm. “This is long overdue. It’ll probably last about a day or two, but it looks great right now,” Kornacki says by way of reaction when he gets the big reveal. “I feel like I had more stuff before.”

After Scarlet Witch’s [Spoiler], What’s Next? Jac Schaeffer Provides Clues – Deadline

Spoiler Alert: The following article contains spoilers about Episode 3 “Now in Color” of Disney+’s WandaVision

After all the Dick Van Dyke Show and Bewitched satirical hijinks on WandaVision, the series began to deliver in a way that put fans at the edge of their seats: Wanda Maximoff delivered her twin boys, Thomas and William (Billy) at the end of episode 3.

And in Marvel lore those guys will become the Young Avengers: Wiccan and Speed. Wiccan will have the sorcery powers of his mother, and Speed, the rapid mutant talents of his late uncle, Quicksilver.

From there, the fanboy universe is prognosticating a slew of details: that big bad villain Mephisto is lurking around the corner in the WandaVision neighborhood; Easter eggs sprinkled galore throughout the series’ first three episode indicate this (i.e. the ‘666’ upside down in the toaster commercial, Agnes’ (Kathryn Hahn) unseen husband being named ‘Ralph’ — a name associated with the protagonist from Lord of the Flies, the list goes on). Tommy and Billy are reabsorbed into Mephisto and ultimately cease to exist. Let’s also not forget that Wanda is Magneto’s daughter (Is Michael Fassbender or Ian McKellen reprising their role?).

‘Soul’: Read The Screenplay For Pixar’s Pic With An Existential Twist

We spoke with WandaVision EP, head scribe and creator Jac Schaeffer today who pleaded the 5th to whether most of these Marvel canon details will be played out on the series; in particular the notion that Agnes’ husband Ralph is Mephisto.

“I cannot answer that,” she laughed, explaining to us when asked that “there is not an Easter eggs staff member” on the series who plants hints throughout the show.

The breadcrumbs that are doled out in each episode actually come from the show’s department heads.

“There are so many people who have worked on Marvel productions, it’s a lot of talented people coming together and contributing their ideas that they know,” explains Schaeffer who has a story by credit on the upcoming MCU feature Black Widow.

There are other looming questions in WandaVision, i.e. how S.W.O.R.D., the organization that’s monitoring Vision and Wanda, came to be (in the comics, they’re the counter-terrorism intelligence group that’s the spaced-based counterpart of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and Darcy Lewis’ (Kat Dennings) involvement with the org. The notion is that her Thor character has been monitoring the duo, and she’ll make her debut on WandaVision in the near future. How did Darcy go from wisecracking scientist sidekick to Jane Foster to mutant caretaker?

Schaeffer says, “Like everything in the MCU, there’s the version that exists in the comics, and the version that makes it to the screen.”

Wanda is a pretty powerful person, and it’s agreed she’s created this virtual world. But what’s with her whole sitcom obsession?

“The obsessions with sitcoms are mine, Kevin Feige’s and Matt Shakman’s” says Schaeffer, “Sitcoms are a place of comfort and safety for us as a community and culture. The superhero movies exist in these enormous stakes environments; more than life or death, it’s the fate of the galaxy. In a sitcom everything is going to be fine, no matter what. I think we were fascinated between the intersection of those two things.”

While we know from the promos that a Family Ties homage is at hand in WandaVision, when the sitcom well runs dry, will the show offer alternative universes of popular hour-long TV shows, i.e. Dallas, Love American Style, The Love Boat, B.J. and the Bear, C.H.I.P.S. and The Sopranos? How long will the TV parody conceit hold up on WandaVision?

Promises Schaeffer, “The show will continue to push the boundaries of television and continue to be surprising and subvert expectations.”

Harvey Weinstein’s bankruptcy judge confirms sexual misconduct settlement: report

Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct settlement has reportedly been approved by the judge overseeing his company’s bankruptcy proceedings.

The now-confirmed settlement resolves most claims from women who have accused the disgraced former movie mogul of sexual misconduct, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The settlement includes $17 million to be divided between the accusers for their misconduct claims via a point system, while an extra $8.4 million will be included for bankruptcy claims unrelated to misconduct allegations.

Nearly 40 women voted to accept the deal earlier this month, the outlet reports.

HARVEY WEINSTEIN ACCUSER SUES HIM SEEKING DAMAGES FOR ALLEGED ASSAULT

Next, a sexual misconduct claims examiner will take a look at each claim filed in addition to documents and statements in support of the activity in order to assign a “point award” that will be used to determine how much of the $17 million each accuser will receive.

Each accuser will be given the opportunity to release all future claims against the former producer should their claim be allowed.

The accuser will receive their full payment once they agree to release Weinstein while those that do not choose to release him will only get 25% of the pre-determined amount they are offered. The remainder will go to insurance companies.

Included in the deal is a mandatory perpetual release of claims against board members of The Weinstein Company as well as of the company itself.

MAJORITY OF ROSE MCGOWAN’S CLAIMS AGAINST HARVEY WEINSTEIN DISMISSED: REPORT

The outlet reports that some accusers oppose the deal and feel that those offering accusations of rape should not be evaluated on the same level as those who claim only harassment. Additionally, the financial penalty for not releasing claims — as well as the mandatory release of claims against others — has also been strongly opposed by some.

Attorney Genie Harrison represents five accusers and said that her clients “have no doubt” the deal is fair, according to the outlet.

“This is not a close call to us,” she said. “My clients view this as a no brainer.”

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Mary F. Walrath agreed on Monday.

“I will not get into an analysis of whether one victim’s claim has more validity or more value than another’s,” she said. “Every victim of Harvey Weinstein was victimized and deserves to have a say into the plan confirmation. If they choose not to release Mr. Weinstein they have the right to have a jury trial.

They added: “83 percent of the victims have expressed very loudly that they want closure through acceptance of this plan.”

‘Bachelorette’s’ Dale Moss opens up about split from Clare Crawley: ‘There’s no one person to blame’

Dale Moss is speaking out regarding his breakup with Clare Crawley.

The former “Bachelorette” couple made headlines in November when it was revealed that Crawley would leave the show just a few weeks in — as she felt she’d already found her winner in Moss, who had initially proposed to her.

Now, the former NFL wide receiver is taking to social media to shed some light on his split with Crawley, 39, after a brief social media hiatus.

In a series of Instagram Stories on Monday, Moss, 32, noted that he finally felt “comfortable” to speak on the situation after the split.

“I finally feel comfortable getting on here after having some time to process everything that’s gone on,” Moss prefaced the initial Story. “I know a lot of y’all have seen me smiling on social media and say I don’t seem as hurt or burdened by this, but that’s the farthest thing. This time has sucked.”

“Thank God I have the friends and the family that I’ve had, because they’ve literally had to carry me through the last two-plus weeks,” Moss continued.

BACHELORETTE’S CLARE CRAWLEY, DALE MOSS SPLIT

Moss confessed that the pressures of having a public relationship factored into the couple’s high-profile split.

“Building a relationship, in general, is tough, especially when you’re doing it in the public eye,” Moss noted. “Media will take things and run with them. People will spread lies or always want to point the finger. But the fact of the matter is, there’s no one person to blame in this situation.”

Moss continued, noting that every relationship has its “ups and downs.”

“Like every relationship, we’ve had our ups and downs and gone through our own things. But the statements that came out, this didn’t come out of nowhere,” he continued, seemingly alluding to Crawley’s recent claim that she “was made aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time” the public saw Moss’ initial announcement of the break-up last week.

“I love Clare and respect Clare enough to let her know how I feel, even if that’s against the expectations of everybody else,” he added.

CLARE CRAWLEY, ‘BACHELORETTE’ STAR, SPEAKS OUT FOLLOWING DALE MOSS SPLIT: ‘I AM CRUSHED’

Though Moss soldiered on with a brave face throughout his Stories, he did mention that it would take time for him to move on and have some normalcy return to his life.

“It’s going to take time. I wanted nothing more than to make this relationship work,” Moss said. “[…] While this is going to be difficult, what you’ll see from me is trying to practice what I preach and continue to put my best foot forward each and every day. While trying to find some sense of normalcy, I’m also going to try and find joy and happiness in each day and continue to share that.

“Everything else is in God’s hands,” he concluded.

Crawley released a statement on Instagram regarding the break-up on Thursday, noting that, “This was not what I expected.

“Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been clear, so the truth is I am crushed,” the star continued. “This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this.”

The reality star then reflected on the year 2020, calling it “one hell of a year.”

She said that in 2020, she faced “severe anxiety,” the coronavirus pandemic, “balancing a public new relationship” and “slowly losing my mother” — circumstances that left her “looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel.”

South Korean model and actress, Song Yoo Jung, dead at 26

South Korean actress and model Song Yoo Jung died over the weekend, reports said Monday.

The 26-year-old star died on Saturday and was laid to rest during a quiet, private funeral, her management company Sublime Artist Agency confirmed to Newsweek.

The funeral was held at a branch of the Seoul Medical Center in the capital’s Gangnam district, the outlet reported, citing Yonhap News.

“I think this waiting period was necessary for me as well.”

Jung made her debut on the big screen when she appeared in Golden Rainbow in 2013, the outlet reported. She has since appeared in Tell Me Your Wish in 2014, School 2017 in 2017 and the online series To My Name in 2019. She has also been featured in advertisements for home appliances, coffee and cosmetics and her Instagram includes dozens of modeling photos.
